The Effect of Video Media on Improving Waste Sorting Attitudes Among Sociology Students at USU
Waste management issues in Indonesia require strategic efforts, one of which is through waste sorting at the source. However, the practice of sorting among students is still low due to a lack of knowledge and supportive attitudes. This study aims to determine the effect of video media on increasing attitudes toward waste sorting among Sociology students at the University of North Sumatra. The method used was a pretest-posttest quasi-experiment with one treatment group. The results show that video media does not have a significant effect on attitudes (p > 0.05). Video media is effective for cognitive aspects, but changing attitudes requires more intensive intervention. It is recommended that video media be integrated into environmental education and that additional approaches be used to shape attitudes and behaviors for independent waste sorting.88 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

Hybrid Wind-Solar Turbine Design for Toll Roads Using Savonius Rotor
This research focuses on the design and construction of a hybrid wind-solar turbine utilizing a Savonius rotor for application on toll roads. The main objective is to implement and analyze the performance of this renewable energy system within the context of toll road infrastructure. The research methodology includes the design of a system that integrates a vertical Savonius-type wind turbine with a blade diameter of 33 cm and a length of 57 cm, a solar panel, and an Arduino-based control system to stabilize the output voltage. Testing was conducted in a laboratory by varying wind speeds from 2 m/s to 6 m/s and measuring solar light intensity. The test results indicate that the system's performance is significantly influenced by environmental conditions. The no-load output voltage of the wind turbine increased from 2.70 V to 15.13 V as the wind speed increased, while the solar panel produced a relatively stable voltage (18.39 V–19.71 V). The integrated hybrid system was able to stabilize the output voltage in the 12-13 Volt range and generate up to 15.37 Watts of power. Further analysis shows that with a 12 Ah capacity battery, the system can supply a 50-Watt DC lamp for approximately 2.88 hours, with a battery charging time of 3 to 3.17 hours. This study successfully demonstrates the feasibility of implementing hybrid wind-solar technology as an alternative energy source on toll roads, although further optimization is required for long-term applications.88 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

Community-Based Rehabilitation in Disability Management: A Case Study of Disability Handling at Khadijah Sharaswaty Indonesia Foundation in Medan City
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 1.3 billion people, or 16% of the global population, live with significant disabilities. In Indonesia, the number of persons with disabilities reaches 22.97 million, or 8.5% of the total population, while in North Sumatra, there are 22,622 recorded individuals. These facts highlight the urgent need for an effective and holistic strategy to address disability-related issues. Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) is a strategy aimed at improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities through community empowerment. This study aims to analyze the implementation of CBR in managing persons with disabilities at the Khadijah Sharaswaty Indonesia (KSI) Foundation in Medan City.
The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. The findings indicate that KSI has implemented the five core components of CBR—health, education, livelihood, social inclusion, and empowerment—by collaborating with various partners and relevant institutions. Nevertheless, there are several challenges, such as a lack of professional personnel, limited funding, an underdeveloped evaluation system, and persistent societal stigma. Therefore, it is recommended that KSI involve social workers, psychologists, and special education professionals to establish a more effective rehabilitation program. The community is encouraged to collectively foster an inclusive environment, and parents are urged to enhance their literacy and understanding of disability issues and appropriate parenting159 PagesSkripsi Sarjan
Feasibility Analysis of Financial in Laying Breed Chicken Business in Pantai Labu District, Deli Serdang Regency
This study aims to determine the feasibility of financial in the laying hen
farming business in Pantai Labu District. This research was conducted in August-
October 2023. The type of data used in this study is primary data obtained through
observation and interviews and secondary data through literature. The sample
determination was carried out by the disproportionate stratified sampling method
with a total of 28 respondents. Data analysis was carried out by calculating
cashflow, Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return and Net Benefit Cost Ratio.
The results of the study show that the value of cash inflow is greater than the value
of cash outflow, so that the average net cash flow or net cash flow is obtained of
IDR 66,502,969,530 in the large strata, IDR 5,878,048 in the medium strata and
IDR 1,221,321,818 in the small strata. The NPV uses an interest rate of 17%
resulting in a value of IDR 1,622,242,895 in the small strata, then a value of IDR
15,087,797,386 in the medium strata and a value of IDR 170,708,084,154 in the
large strata. As for IRR and Net B/C, different values were obtained in small strata,
namely 43% for IRR values and 2.07 for Net B/C values, while IRR and Net B/C
values in medium and large strata were the same, namely 47% and 1.82. So
according to the financial feasibility indicator, it can be concluded that the laying
breed chicken farming business in Pantai Labu District is feasible to run and invest.
Sensitivity analysis was also carried out through a financial aspect approach by
adding a scenario of a decrease in revenue to 10% to 30%, then a value of >1 was
obtained which showed that the laying breed chicken farming business was
sensitive to changes in assumptions79 PagesSkripsi Sarjan
