The Influence Of Brand Image, Product Quality, And Lifestyle On The Purchase Decision Of Rosca Tumblers Among University Students In North Sumatra

    No full text
This study aims to analyze the influence of brand image, product quality, and lifestyle on the purchase decision of Rosca tumblers among students at the University of North Sumatra. The global tumbler market in 2024 reached USD 3.39 billion and is projected to rise to USD 8.37 billion by 2033. This trend strengthens the position of tumblers, which are now not only drinking containers but also symbols of status and identity, especially among teenagers. Although Rosca is one of the local tumbler brands with a fairly high number of purchases, as a brand that has only been operating for about a year, Rosca's brand image has not yet been fully established in the minds of consumers. In terms of product quality, Rosca still faces several weaknesses, such as the tumbler's color being easily stained and its temperature resistance for beverages still having limitations. Additionally, lifestyle trends influence how tumblers are used among students; tumblers are no longer merely functional items but also part of a lifestyle that follows aesthetic trends while reflecting environmental consciousness. Using an associative quantitative approach with a survey design, this study involved 100 students from the University of North Sumatra as samples through purposive sampling techniques. Primary data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS, including validity and reliability tests, descriptive analysis, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, determination coefficient, and t and F tests. The results showed that brand image, product quality, and lifestyle simultaneously had a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions. Meanwhile, partially, brand image has a positive but insignificant effect, while product quality and lifestyle partially have a positive and significant effect on the purchase decision of Rosca tumblers.166 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

Background: Premature rupture of membranes (PROM) is an obstetric complication that contributes to maternal and perinatal morbidity. Uric acid has a dual role as an antioxidant; however, at higher levels it may promote inflammation. Therefore, alterations in maternal uric acid levels are presumed to be associated with oxidative stress processes and increased vulnerability of the fetal membranes. This study aimed to determine the association between serum uric acid levels and the incidence of PROM at Adam Malik Hospital and affiliated network hospitals. Methods: This analytical cross-sectional study was conducted at Adam Malik Hospital and network hospitals (Prof. dr. CPL USU Hospital and Pirngadi General Hospital, Medan) from March to July 2025. Participants were divided into two groups: pregnant women with PROM and pregnant women without PROM, with 25 subjects in each group (total n = 50). Results: Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate methods with statistical tests selected according to data distribution. Most respondents were aged 20–30 years (66%); the most common body mass index (BMI) category was overweight (64%), and parity was predominantly primigravida (56%). The PROM group had a higher BMI (median 29.2 kg/m²) than the non-PROM group (median 27.5 kg/m²; p = 0.001), and BMI category was significantly associated with PROM (p = 0.034). Serum uric acid levels were lower in the PROM group (median 3.7 mg/dL) than in the non-PROM group (median 5.4 mg/dL; p = 0.001). There was a significant association between serum uric acid levels and PROM (p = 0.008). Conclusion: Serum uric acid levels were significantly associated with the incidence of PROM among pregnant women at Adam Malik Hospital and affiliated network hospitals.86 PagesTesis Magiste

    No full text
This study was motivated by the widespread use of modified exhaust components, including noisy exhausts, which cause annoyance to some members of the community and violate the principles of ethical driving. The noise generated by exhausts that exceed the maximum threshold demonstrates the indifference of users of noisy exhausts to the orderliness of the community and surrounding drivers. The issuance of Law Number 22 of 2009 and Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia Number P.56/Menlhk/Setjen/Kum.1/10/2019 serves as the basic legal reference regarding the use of exhaust components on motorcycles. The following are some of the issues that will be discussed in this study: 1) How is the use of noisy exhaust pipes regulated under positive law in Indonesia? 2) What concrete steps the Medan City Police (Polrestabes) take in dealing with riders who use noisy exhausts based on Law Number 22 of 2009 and Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia Number P.56/Menlhk/Setjen/Kum.1/10/2019; and 3) What are the obstacles faced by the Medan City Police Traffic Unit in disciplining users of two-wheeled vehicles with noisy exhaust pipes? This study uses a descriptive empirical juridical method with a legislative and case approach. This study uses primary data obtained from the Medan City Police Traffic Unit (Satlantas) of the Medan Police Headquarters and secondary data derived from primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials. The data analysis method used in this study is qualitative analysis. The results of this study indicate that although basic regulations regarding noise limits for motorcycles and prohibitions on excessive noise already exist, the absence of regulations providing guidance on the enforcement of traffic violations related to noisy exhaust pipes causes problems for both the Traffic Police and motorcycle riders.104 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

Employee performance is a fundamental element in supporting the quality of statistical services at the Central Bureau of Statistics (Badan Pusat Statistik/BPS). Employees' perceptions of the planned implementation of a single salary system as part of remuneration reform, as well as their level of self-efficacy, are expected to play a role in shaping job satisfaction and improving employee performance. This study aims to analyze the effect of the planned implementation of a single salary system and self- efficacy on employee performance, with job satisfaction as an intervening variable, at the Central Bureau of Statistics of Langkat Regency. This study employed a quantitative approach involving all Civil Servants (Aparatur Sipil Negara/ASN) of BPS Langkat Regency, totaling 39 respondents. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that the planned implementation of a single salary system and self-efficacy have a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction and employee performance. In addition, job satisfaction also has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. However, job satisfaction is not proven to mediate the effect of the planned implementation of a single salary system on employee performance, whereas job satisfaction is proven to significantly mediate the effect of self-efficacy on employee performance. These findings imply that improving the performance of BPS employees needs to be supported by a fair and transparent income system, as well as by strengthening employee self-efficacy as an internal factor that plays a role in enhancing job satisfaction and sustainable performance208 PageTesis Magiste

Hardness of Scaffolds Based on Nano-Hydroxyapatite from Nile Tilapia Fish Scales and Commercial Gelatin Using the Porogen Leaching Method with Different Weight Concentration Ratios

    No full text
Alveolar bone defects caused by periodontitis require a bone tissue engineering approach using scaffolds with adequate mechanical and biological properties. Nano-hydroxyapatite is a biomaterial that resembles natural bone minerals and has the potential to be used as a scaffold material, while tilapia fish scales (Oreochromis niloticus), as fisheries waste, can be utilized as a natural source of hydroxyapatite. This study is an experimental laboratory study aimed at analyzing the hardness of scaffolds based on nano-hydroxyapatite from tilapia fish scales and commercial gelatin using the porogen leaching method at weight concentration ratios of 20:10, 30:15, and 40:20. This study used scaffolds as samples with a diameter of 6.5 mm and a thickness of 10.8 mm made from nano-hydroxyapatite synthesized from tilapia fish scales using the calcination and alkaline heat treatment methods, followed by ball milling until the material reached nano size (<100 nm). A total of 30 samples were prepared and divided into 3 groups (n=10) according to the weight ratio of hydroxyapatite and gelatin, namely 20:10 (I), 30:15 (II), and 40:20 (III). The scaffolds were fabricated using the porogen leaching method and calcined at a temperature of 800°C. Hardness testing was conducted using a Vickers Hardness Tester. The results showed the highest hardness value in group III (4.31 ± 0.06 VHN), followed by group II (3.03 ± 0.01 VHN), and the lowest in group I (1.13 ± 0.01 VHN). Statistical analysis using One-Way ANOVA showed significant differences in scaffold hardness values at various weight concentration ratios among all treatment groups (p<0.05). It can be concluded that the concentration of nano-hydroxyapatite increases the hardness value of the scaffold, with a higher percentage of nano-hydroxyapatite than gelatin. Scaffolds based on nano-hydroxyapatite from tilapia fish scales and commercial gelatin show potential as scaffold materials for bone regeneration applications.104 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

Reproductive Biology of Four-Finger Threadfin (Eleutheronema tetradactylum) Landed at the Gabion Belawan Fish Landing Site (TPI), North Sumatra Province

    No full text
The four-finger threadfin (Eleutheronema tetradactylum) is an economically important demersal fish resource widely exploited by coastal communities. High fishing pressure may affect population structure and resource sustainability; therefore, biological studies are required as a scientific basis for sustainable fisheries management. This study aimed to analyze the growth pattern of the four-finger threadfin based on growth parameters and population characteristics. The study was grounded in fish growth theory and population dynamics concepts, particularly the Von Bertalanffy growth model, supported by previous studies on the family Polynemidae. The research was conducted using a survey method by collecting fish samples obtained from fishermen’s catches during the study period. Length data were analyzed using the ELEFAN I module to estimate growth parameters, including asymptotic length (L∞), growth coefficient (K), and theoretical age at zero length (t₀). The results indicated differences in growth parameters between male and female fish, where males exhibited a larger asymptotic length, while females showed a higher growth rate. The growth pattern of E. tetradactylum followed the Von Bertalanffy growth curve, characterized by rapid growth during early life stages and a gradual decline as age increased. In conclusion, the growth characteristics of the four-finger threadfin reflect biological adaptations to the aquatic environment and can serve as a scientific reference for sustainable management and utilization of this fishery resource.77 PagesSkripsi Sarjan
