Zinc Oxide Nanoflake/Reduced Graphene Oxide Nanocomposite-Based Dual-Acting Electrodes for Solar-Assisted Supercapacitor Applications
Rostas, Arpad Mihai/0000-0001-8190-9512; Tuc Altaf, Cigdem/0000-0001-9036-5836; Lazar, Mihaela D./0000-0002-1679-1324There is an ever-growing requirement for systems that enable both conversion and storage of solar energy in the same device, thereby reducing the need for grid electricity and fossil fuels. Although photo-supercapacitors (PSCs) potentially meet this requirement, it is essential to develop high-performance devices in which conversion and storage can be achieved on the same electrode. This study investigated two-electrode PSC systems based on three-dimensional (3D) zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoflakes/reduced graphene oxide (rGO) nanocomposites to meet the need for in situ solar energy conversion/storage. To better understand the effect of rGO and 3D ZnO nanoflakes separately, three different compositions have been studied, in which the weight percent of rGO changes from 8 to 32%. The energy density increases as the amount of rGO increases, but the composite material loses its light sensitivity above a critical value. Therefore, the electrodes containing 16% rGO exhibited higher performance than those containing 32% and 8% rGO. As a result, the (16%) rGO/ZnO-based PSC exhibited superior performance compared to the other samples, with its ability to maintain 100% of its performance at 40 000 cycles, its areal capacitance of 40 mF cm-2 and energy density values of 22 mu W h cm-2, which were 170% higher than under dark condition measurements. There is an ever-growing requirement for systems that enable both conversion and storage of solar energy in the same device, thereby reducing the need for grid electricity and fossil fuels.N.
The microbiota is the collective community of microorganisms that live on or within an organism, its environment and its habitats. These microorganisms include bacteria, archaea, fungi, viruses and other microscopic organisms. Microbiota generally refers to organisms that exist in natural systems and have a mutualistic relationship with the host organism. In particular, the intestinal microbiota exists as a large bacterial colony in the intestines and helps digestive processes. It may also play an important role in regulating the immune system. A better understanding of the gut microbiota may help discover potential new approaches to the treatment and prevention of various diseases and health conditions. For this reason, research and discoveries related to microbiota are an important focus of interest in the scientific world and the medical field. This article; examines the effects of intestinal microbiota on the cardiovascular, endocrine and nervous systems
Milp Modeling of Matrix Multiplication: Cryptanalysis of Klein and Prince
Mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) techniques are widely used in cryptanalysis, aiding in the discovery of optimal linear and differential characteristics. This paper delves into the analysis of block ciphers KLEIN and PRINCE using MILP, specifically calculating the best linear and differential characteristics for reduced-round versions. Both ciphers employ matrix multiplication in their diffusion layers, which we model using multiple XOR operations. To this end, we propose two novel MILP models for multiple XOR operations, which use fewer variables and constraints, proving to be more efficient than standard methods for XOR modeling. For differential cryptanalysis, we identify characteristics with a probability of 2−59 for 7 rounds of KLEIN and a probability of 2−56 for 7 rounds of PRINCE. In linear cryptanalysis, we identify characteristics with a bias of 2−27 for 6 rounds of KLEIN and a bias of 2−29 for 7 rounds of PRINCE. These results establish the best single-key differential and linear distinguishers for these ciphers in the literature. © TÜBİTAK
Successful Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy of Double Gallbladder with Double Cholecystitis and Gallstones: A Case Report
Gallbladder (GB) duplication is a rare congenital anomaly with various anatomical presentation. Preoperative diagnosis of this condition is not common as it is available in only 50% of cases. When problems arise, such as cholecystitis, this anomalies are exposed during an operation. We report the case of a double GB which was diagnosed during the operative procedure in fifty-seven years old woman with sign and symptom of acute cholecystitis. The liver function tests were elevated and ultrasonography showed the lithiasic cholecystitis in GB which rolled around itself. Magnetic Resonance cholangio pancreatography (MRCP) confirmed the cholecystitis on GB and revealed normal common bile duct(CBD). A decision was made to procedure with a laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Inoperative double gallbladder and double cystic duct was observed. Cholangiography was made to identify the biliary tree. A challenging laparoscopic cholecystectomy was performed successfully and pathology confirmed double H-type GB and cholecystitis on both of them. The patient was discharged home uneventfully. GB duplication has an incidence of approximately 1:4000. It can be classified as a type-I anomaly(partially split primordial gallbladder), a type II anomaly(two separate gallbladders, each with their own cystic duct) or a type III anomaly(triple gallbladders draining by 1-3 separate cystic duct). Such anatomical variations of the GB are associated with an increased risk of operative difficulty and complications including conversion to open cholecystectomy and common bile duct injury. Preoperative diagnosis of duplicate GB is difficult. This condition could not be detected preoperatively by imaging methods. During surgery, if surgeon suspects the presence of more then one cystic duct, intraoperative cholangiography is highly recommended to identify the biliary anatomy

Binomial Sums Involving Second-Order Linearly Recurrent Sequences
Consider the sequences (Un : n ∈ N0) and (Vn : n ∈ N) satisfying the secondorder linear recurrences Un = pUn-1+Un-2 and Vn = pVn-1+Vn-2 with the initial conditions U0 = 0, U1 = 1, V0 = 2, and V1 = p. We explore the problem of evaluating binomial sums involving products consisting of entries in the U- and V -sequences. We apply a hypergeometric approach, inspired by Dilcher's work on hypergeometric identities for Fibonacci numbers, to obtain many new identities for sums involving U and V and products of binomial coefficients, including a non-hypergeometric analogue of Dixon's binomial identity. © 2024 Fibonacci Association. Malicious Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces: How Impactful Can Destructive Beamforming Be?
Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) have demonstrated significant potential for enhancing communication system performance if properly configured. However, a RIS might also pose a risk to the network security. In this letter, we explore the impact of a malicious RIS on a multi-user multiple-input single-output (MISO) system when the system is unaware of the RIS's malicious intentions. The objective of the malicious RIS is to degrade the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of a specific user equipment (UE), with the option of preserving the SNR of the other UEs, making the attack harder to detect. To achieve this goal, we derive the optimal RIS phase-shift pattern, assuming perfect channel state information (CSI) at the hacker. We then relax this assumption by introducing CSI uncertainties and subsequently determine the RIS's phase-shift pattern using a robust optimization approach. Our simulations reveal a direct proportionality between the performance degradation caused by the malicious RIS and the number of reflective elements, along with resilience toward CSI uncertainties.Thiswork was supported by the SUCCESS Project funded by the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research under Grant FUS21-0026. A Brief Survey on Exploring the Application Areas and Scope of ChatGPT
Innovative Methods in Computer Science and Computational Applications in the Era of Industry 5.0 Proceedings of the 5th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Applied Mathematics in Engineering ICAIAME 2023, Volume 1Chatbots based on Large Language Models (LLMs) with their tremendous potential have lately fascinated researchers from industry and academia. Among these models, ChatGPT has emerged as a prominent player. In this brief survey paper, the use cases, application areas, and scope of ChatGPT was explored, aiming to shed light on its potential and possible setbacks. A general overview of the fundamental architecture is given along with the training methodology of ChatGPT and its underlying transformer-based neural network, which enables it to generate contextually coherent responses in a conversational setting. By understanding the model’s foundations, the groundwork for comprehending its subsequent applications is developed. However, even though ChatGPT excels at generating responses that are similar to humans, it also has produced biased or incorrect information occasionally. Hence, the challenges related to maintaining ethical standards, ensuring user safety, and addressing issues of transparency and accountability through some use cases are also discussed. Such factors limit the scalability and generalizability of ChatGPT. We hope that the outcome of this study will help contributing to the ongoing discourse surrounding AI systems and open the path for future research, enabling the effective and thus responsible integration of ChatGPT into various real-world scenarios
Design and Production of Mesh Patterned Photoelectrode With Maskless Laser Lithography and Device Performance of Perovskite Derived/Zno Nras Based Photodetector
This study reports the design and fabrication of environmentally friendly, portable, robust, and stable self-powered photoelectrochemical photodetector (PEC-PD) devices based on the heterojunction of ZnO nanorod arrays (NRA) in a mesh pattern and inorganic halide perovskites (IHP). First, the effects of distance between the center of lines in a mesh pattern on the material properties and device performance were revealed. The mesh patterned ZnO NRAs-based PEC-PD device exhibited a fast response time (tau rise/tau decay = 100/75 ms) under UV-light illumination with 367 nm of wavelength at no applied bias. The best-performing mesh pattern was then used as a sub-layer for lead-based CsPbBr3-CsPb2Br5 dual-phase and lead-free Cs2AgBiBr6 double perovskite to construct self-powered p-n junction and PEC-PD devices. Upon the deposition of Cs2AgBiBr6, the maximum photocurrent value was enhanced about 13.65 times as compared to mesh patterned pristine ZnO NRAs under AM 1.5 illumination at + 5 V of applied potential. Responsivity (RS) and Detectivity (D*) values of the mesh patterned pristine ZnO NRAs-based PD have been increased from 0.24 mAW-1 and 3.0 x 108 Jones to 3.08 mAW-1 and 7.63 x 108 Jones with Cs2AgBiBr6 layer, respectively. Furthermore, 69.18 mAW-1 of RS and 1.71 x 1010 Jones of D* value have been observed at 382 nm wavelength and + 5 V for mesh patterned ZnO NRAs/Cs2AgBiBr6 photoelectrode.TUBITAK SAGE; Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) Defense Industries Research and Development Institute (SAGE)The authors would like to thank The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) Defense Industries Research and Development Institute (SAGE)
