Cintia Oktavia Sari. Analysis of Differences in Students' Mathematics Anxiety in Solving Mathematical Problems Based on Field Dependent and Field Independent Cognitive Styles. Thesis. Departement of Mathematics Education, Muhammadiyah University of Ponorogo. Advisor 1 Dr. Sumaji, M.Pd., Advisor 2 Dr. Arta Ekayanti, M.Sc. This study aims to: (1) analyze the level of mathematics anxiety experienced by students with a Field Dependent (FD) cognitive style in solving mathematical problems; (2) analyze the level of mathematics anxiety in students with a Field Independent (FI) cognitive style; and (3) determine the differences in mathematics anxiety between students with FD and FI cognitive styles when solving mathematical problems. This research employed a qualitative approach and was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Babadan, with the primary subjects being students from class VII-A. Data collection techniques included a cognitive style test using the Group Embedded Figures Test (GEFT), a mathematical problem-solving test, and interviews. The data sources consisted of GEFT results, problem-solving test results, and interview transcripts. Data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that students with a Field Dependent (FD) cognitive style tended to experience high levels of mathematics anxiety, influenced by external factors such as reliance on social environments, and internal factors such as low self-confidence and difficulty in understanding mathematical concepts. In contrast, students with a Field Independent (FI) cognitive style experienced mild to moderate levels of anxiety, mainly due to internal challenges such as difficulty recalling solution steps, but were supported by effective self-regulation strategies. Overall, FI students demonstrated a stronger ability to solve mathematical problems systematically and confidently compared to FD students, who relied more on external support and struggled to organize complex information. These findings confirm that cognitive style plays a significant role in shaping students' levels of anxiety and their ability to face and solve mathematical problems. The development of natural fiber-based composite materials is an attractive alternative to replace synthetic materials due to its lightweight, strong, and environmentally friendly properties. This study aims to determine the effect of the combination of sugar palm fiber and pineapple leaf fiber on the bending strength and macrostructure of polyester resin matrix composites. The fibers used were derived from natural waste, each cut to 150 mm in length and combined with Yucalac 157 BQTN-EX polyester resin and MEKPO catalyst. The specimen manufacturing process used the hand lay-up press method, while the flexural strength testing was carried out based on the ASTM D-790 standard. The macrostructure was observed using a macro lens to see the fiber distribution, voids, and delamination. This study used five variations of specimen composition, namely: specimen 1 (40% palm fiber, 59% resin, 1% catalyst), specimen 2 (40% pineapple fiber, 59% resin, 1% catalyst), specimen 3 (20% palm fiber, 20% pineapple fiber, 59% resin, 1% catalyst), specimen 4 (15% palm fiber, 25% pineapple fiber, 59% resin, 1% catalyst), and specimen 5 (25% palm fiber, 15% pineapple fiber, 59% resin, 1% catalyst). The results showed that variations in fiber composition affected the flexural strength and macrostructure of the specimens. The combination with pineapple fiber dominance in specimen 5 produced the highest bending strength of 80 MPa, while the specimen with sugar palm fiber dominance in specimen 3 only reached 59.4 MPa. The even fiber distribution, strong interphase bonding, and minimal voids contributed significantly to the improvement in mechanical performance. This study shows that natural fibers have great potential in the manufacture of high-quality composites

Politeness and good manners are essential components in shaping the character of early childhood, as they reflect the child's personality in interacting with their surroundings. This study aims to describe the formation of polite manners in early childhood through the habituation method at Al Ishlah Bungkal Ponorogo Kindergarten. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of teachers and group B students. Data analysis involved the stages of data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with triangulation techniques used to ensure data validity. The results of the study show that the habituation method works optimally in forming good manners in early childhood. The manners instilled included: greeting others, refraining from using harsh words, respecting elders, praying properly, asking permission, saying thank you, and receiving items with the right hand. The habituation process followed five steps: giving simple explanations, modeling good behavior, gently reminding when children forget, giving appreciation, and avoiding criticism when children make mistakes. In addition, it was found that short songs were used as a transition medium before collective prayers, helping children calm down and pray in an orderly manner. This indicates that habituation can be implemented through enjoyable and developmentally appropriate approaches for young children
