Le frasi derivate da movimento nei bambini con impianto cocleare. Dalla valutazione al training linguistico
No full textIn questo volume sono raccolti e analizzati i dati sulla produzione, comprensione e ripetizione delle frasi derivate da movimento in italiano nei bambini sordi con impianto cocleare con lo scopo di individuare quali, tra le strutture in analisi, siano le più difficili da acquisire per la popolazione di riferimento.

Participants were tested on the production, comprehension, and repetition of sentences derived by A’ movement.
The performance of the children with cochlear implants was compared with the performance of a group of children with normal hearing.
Results showed a better performance of hearing children than deaf children, and the typical subject-object asymmetry common to both groups. As for the training part, three case studies are presented on the adaptation into Italian of the linguistic training of relative clauses.
The linguistic training follows the protocols developed for adults with aphasia and children with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD). Results showed an improvement in both trained and untrained structures, and in the participants’ narrative skills

No full textThe essay focuses on the linguistic contact between Quechua from Santiago del Estero and Spanish, as well as sociolinguistic aspects about the current situation and the survival of this language, an aspect that for many authors continues to be a “linguistic enigma” (Courthès 2007).
The theory of James Crawford (2000) is taken into consideration, who maintains that the phenomena of geographic dislocation, social dislocation and cultural dislocation would forcefully lead a language to disappear.
This is the opposite of what happens in the so-called “linguistic island” of Santiago del Estero, where the language remains in force and is used daily by its inhabitants both inside and outside that area. In this sense, a field work has been carried out in which a sample of interviews with bilingual speakers from the “linguistic island” living in the urban areas of Buenos Aires is analyzed.
In all cases, these are inhabitants who are in a situation of linguistic contact between the Quechua of Santiago del Estero and Spanish. Based on an intersemiotic and interlinguistic analysis of the novel Shunko (1949) by Jorge W. Ábalos and its homonymous film adaptation (1960) by Lautaro Murúa, the contact between Quechua and Spanish is addressed, since it is presented as a fundamental part of the linguistic and metalinguistic elements that account for the clash between the teacher’s voice and the children’s voices (Aguilar 2005).
In this sense, attitudes and language use are also observed in order to trace the relationships between code-switching and code-mixing (Poplack 1980) as well as aspects proxemics that contribute to the sociolinguistic realism of the characters in both the novel and the film.El ensayo centra la atención en el contacto lingüístico entre el quechua de Santiago del Estero y el español como también los aspectos sociolingüísticos, la situación actual y la supervivencia de esta lengua, aspecto que para muchos autores sigue siendo un “enigma lingüístico” (Courthès 2007).
Se toma en consideración la teoría de James Crawford (2000), quien sostiene que los fenómenos de dislocación geográfica, dislocación social y dislocación cultural llevarían a una lengua forzosamente a desaparecer.
Esto es lo contrario de lo que sucede en la llamada “isla lingüística” de Santiago del Estero, donde la lengua se mantiene vigente y es usada cotidianamente por sus habitantes tanto dentro como fuera de ella.
En tal sentido, se ha llevado adelante un trabajo de campo en el que se analiza una muestra de entrevistas realizadas a hablantes bilingües oriundos de la “isla lingüística” afincados en las zonas urbanas de Buenos Aires.
En todos los casos se trata de habitantes que se encuentran en situación de contacto lingüístico entre el quechua de Santiago del Estero y el español.
A partir de un análisis intersemiótico e interlingüístico de la novela Shunko (1949) de Jorge W. Ábalos y de su homónima adaptación cinematográfica (1960) de Lautaro Murúa, se aborda el contacto entre el quechua y el español, ya que se presenta como una parte fundamental de los elementos lingüísticos y metalingüísticos que dan cuenta del choque entre la voz del maestro y las voces de los niños (Aguilar 2005).
En este sentido, se observan también las actitudes y el uso de la lengua con el propósito de trazar las relaciones entre los cambios de código (code-switching) y la mezcla de códigos (code-mixing) (Poplack 1980) como también los aspectos proxémicos que contribuyen al realismo sociolingüístico de los personajes tanto en la novela como en la película

Postcolonial Publics: Art and Citizen Media in Europe
No full textPostcolonial Publics: Art and Citizen Media in Europe presents a collection of sixteen chapters that explore the themes of how migrants, refugees and citizens express and share their political and social causes and experiences through art and media.
These expressions, which we term ‘citizen media’, arguably become a platform for postcolonial intellectuals as the studies pursued in this volume investigate the different ways in which previously excluded social groups regain public voice.
The volume strives to understand the different articulations of migrants’, refugees’, and citizens’ struggle against increasingly harsh European politics that allow them to achieve and empower political subjectivity in a mediated and creative space. In this way, the contributions in this volume present case studies of citizen media in the form of ‘activistic art’ or ‘artivism’ (Trandafoiu, Ruffini, Cazzato & Taronna, Koobak & Tali, Negrón-Muntaner), activism through different kinds of technological media (Chouliaraki and Al-Ghazzi, Jedlowski), such as documentaries and film (Denić), podcasts, music and soundscapes (Romeo and Fabbri, Western, Lazzari, Huggan), and activisms through writings from journalism to fiction (Longhi, Concilio, Festa, De Capitani).
The volume argues that citizen media go hand in hand with postcolonial critique because of their shared focus on the deconstruction and decolonisation of Western logics and narratives.
Moreover, both question the concept of citizen and of citizenship as they relate to the nation-state and explores the power of media as a tool for participation as well as an instrument of political strength.
The book forwards postcolonial artivism and citizen media as a critical framework to understand the refugee and migrant situations in contemporary Europe

No full textNel 1968 fu pubblicata la prima edizione completa della Bibbia cattolica in lingua cinese.
Gli autori della traduzione erano i membri dello Studium Biblicum Franciscanum Sinense, l’istituto biblico fondato nel 1945 a Pechino dal francescano Padre Gabriele Allegra, che aveva inaugurato il progetto e scelto i suoi primi collaboratori.
Questo volume approfondisce la formazione e il ruolo dei francescani cinesi coinvolti nella traduzione e delinea l’attività degli stessi nella successiva fondazione della Vicaria e della Provincia francescana cinese (1970, 1989).
Viene presentata in dettaglio la figura di Padre Ludovico Liu Xutang, membro dello Studio Biblico e primo Vicario nel 1970. La traduzione del volumetto Huainian Liu Xutang shenfu consente di vedere concretizzati gli impegni di Padre Liu nelle attività bibliche dello Studio, nell’erezione della Provincia Reginae Sinarum e nella ripresa dei contatti con i cattolici della Cina continentale, e offre al lettore una raccolta di testimonianze dirette sulla vita del francescano

No full textThis volume is the result of the debates held at Ca’ Foscari University during the Iberismo(s) study day, aimed at discussing the ethical, theoretical and methodological limits of Iberian Studies and demonstrating their applications.
Far from a unidirectional reading, the works gathered here explore the multiple aspects of Iberism, or rather Iberisms: different aspects such as the literary, cultural, economic and political ones are taken into account and interpreted on the basis of their plurality – since the diversity of actors, discourses, and contexts makes it impossible to outline a closed narrative. According to Claudio Guillén, “national literature is […] an institution that is not only insufficient, but also spurious and fraudulent”, hence the commitment to redefine this field of study.
Moreover, its analytical perspective is associated with the ‘crisis of Hispanism’ as a ‘uninational’ and monolingual paradigm. Iberian Studies as such do not take root in a simple broadening of the object of research in order to give space – and thus a new location – to the more peripheral realities; it is rather a theoretical and methodological reformulation in constant development, as all the essays in this volume attest
