El poeta arquitecto. Espacios, lenguas y lenguajes en las ‘obras’ de Joan Margarit
No full textEste volumen estudia las relaciones entre arquitectura y poesía en un corpus de poemas, ensayos sobre creación, escritos técnicos, notas de prensa e intercambios con el escritor bilingüe catalán-castellano Joan Margarit (1938-2021).
A través de una metodología histórico-crítica que apela al Spatial Turn, la geocrítica, la transmedialidad, el topoanálisis y la frecuencia léxica, se iluminan analogías entre formas de intervención arquitectónica –construcción, refuerzo, demolición de casas o barrios– y vivencias sentimentales y lingüísticas de los personajes poéticos.
La visión ecológica, ligada a la defensa del reciclaje edilicio, vale, en una dimensión metafórica, para las relaciones humanas.This volume studies the original communion between architecture and poetry in the work of the bilingual Catalan-Spanish writer Joan Margarit (1938-2021) through a comparative analysis of poems, essays on creation, technical writings on the calculation of structures, press releases on projects where he worked as an architect in Catalonia and private exchanges around the poetry-architecture axis.
Through a historical-critical methodology that combines contributions from the spatial turn, geocriticism, transmediality, topoanalysis and the calculation of lexical frequency, some analogies are illuminated between the forms of architectural intervention – construction, restoration, reinforcement, demolition of houses or neighbourhoods – and the sentimental experiences, moral dilemmas and linguistic choices of his poetic characters. Margarite’s lyrical-architectural imagination proposes a pioneering ecological vision, linked to the defence of building recycling that is valid, in its metaphorical dimension, also for human relations.
The deep imbrication of literature and architecture impacts the poetic idiolect, which is characterised by the prolific contamination of practices, knowledge and discourses coming from the different subjects of architecture and urbanism, to the point of constituting, in Margarit, a stylema. However, this contamination of practices and discourses never produces in Margarit a rupture of aesthetic homogeneity, a clash of styles.
There are no gratuitous technicalities or dissonances due to the insertion of technolects or obscure references to a non-expert reader. However, there is a contamination of discursive isotopies: the architectural and literary discourses.
The analysis of the lexical frequency of topoi reveals that the spaces that are most mentioned in Margarit’s poetry are houses (generally private homes, with gardens) as well as cemeteries, hospitals, hospices, orphanages and high school buildings

No full textEnrique Jardiel Poncela (1901-1952) offrì al pubblico spagnolo del suo tempo un teatro che si proponeva una sfida di innovazione basata su una nuova concezione di umorismo.
I meccanismi del comico di parola che sostengono il testo scenico costituiscono un banco di prova esemplare nella traduzione delle chiavi di questa comicità, caratterizzata dalla costante alterazione del codice nei diversi livelli della lingua.
In particolare, il volume si concentra su una delle commedie di maggiore successo di Jardiel, Los ladrones somos gente honrada (1941), che, grazie alla presenza di un ampio ventaglio di soluzioni comiche, stimola molteplici riflessioni sulle possibilità di resa in italiano.The theatrical production of the playwright Enrique Jardiel Poncela (1901-1952) offered Spanish audiences of the time a theatre that posed a challenge of innovation based on a new conception of humour.
The numerous mechanisms of the verbal humour that sustain the script constitute a real challenge in translating the keys of this comedy due to the constant alteration of the code in the different levels of the language.
After outlining some essential lines concerning the author’s dramaturgy, this volume will focus on one of Jardiel’s most successful comedies, Los ladrones somos gente honrada (1941), providing the first full Italian translation of the play.
The aim is to stimulate reflection on the play’s translation rendering in Italian (also from a didactic perspective) based on the wide range of comic solutions adopted for the playful use of language.Enrique Jardiel Poncela (1901-1952) offrì al pubblico spagnolo del suo tempo un teatro che si proponeva una sfida di innovazione basata su una nuova concezione di umorismo.

No full textThis issue of Lagoonscapes binds thinkers, scholars, artists, activists, policymakers and curators from Venice and the Pacific in a holistic way, in dialogue and with converging views and vantage points, discussing human/non-human relationships, cross-disciplinary dialogues and ancestral epistemologies.
First-hand knowledge and experiences shift the perspective from rigid academic and institutional structures to personal ruminations on the injuries of colonisation. One of the aims of this special issue of Lagoonscapes is to decentralise and provincialise such ‘Man-as-human’ as the subject/object of inquiry, and thus counter and reframe established geographies, histories and temporalities.

La tragica esperienza vissuta dalla popolazione di lingua greca è stata trasformata in una cronaca in versi, che divenne un best-long seller a Venezia dalla metà del Settecento fino al tardo Ottocento.
Questo libro ripropone la lettura del poema di Manthos Ioannou, con l\u27intento di presentare una fonte diretta, poco nota alla storiografia italiana, e di approfondire lo studio dell’opera nel suo contesto storico e letterario.The History of the Disaster and Captivity of the Morea written by Manthos Ioannou is a historical poem in Greek concerning the Morean War (1714-18).
The work testifies to the transmission of historical events in a poetic form; both the historical-literary context and editorial problems are examined.
This poem, printed in Venice in the early eighteenth century, was reissued several times until the late nineteenth century. No full textThis volume encompasses the proceedings of the First International Conference of the East and West in Korean Studies project Cultural Exchanges Between Korea and the West: Artifacts and Intangible Heritage, organized by Jong-Chol An and Ariane Perrin in the Department of Asian and North African Studies at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice in May 2021 with the support of the Academy of Korean Studies.

No full textThe volume represents the second ‘chapter’ of the METra research project (Mapping Epic in Tragedy – Epica e tragedia greca: una mappatura), and contains the papers presented during the international workshop METra 2, held in Verona in June 2022.
Carrying on with the lines of research whose first results were published in METra 1 (Lexis Supplements 11, 2022), this second collection of essays focuses on further aspects of the Homeric legacy in Attic tragedy. As in the first volume, the papers apply different disciplinary approaches, covering a wide range of topics: from metrical, linguistic, and stylistic features to matters of intertextuality and literary allusiveness, from the cultural, religious, and ethical values of archaic Greece – and their persistence in the classical age – to the ‘dialogue’ between ancient epics and modernity.

Proseguendo sulle direttrici di ricerca i cui esiti sono ora disponibili in METra 1 (Lexis Supplementi 11, 2022), questa seconda raccolta indaga ulteriori aspetti dell’eredità omerica ed epica in tragedia.
Come nel volume precedente, i saggi propongono approcci disciplinari diversificati: dallo studio metrico, linguistico e stilistico all’intertestualità, dalla ricerca dell’allusione alla riflessione sull’eventuale persistenza, tra Grecia arcaica e classica, di sistemi culturali ed etico-religiosi, senza trascurare il dialogo con la modernità.
