No full textManifesto realizzato per la conferenza “La Metelli incontra… tutti i mondi possibili: la Biblioteca dell’evoluzione secondo Telmo Pievani” del 17 novembre 2025.
L\u27incontro, aperto sia alla comunità universitaria che alla cittadinanza, si propone di guidarci con incursioni tra la borgesiana biblioteca di Babele, le ricerche del catalogo dei cataloghi, le indagini per trovare il volume che contiene le risposte ai "misteri fondamentali dell’umanità", le biblioteche di geni o aminoacidi… e tre miliardi e mezzo di anni di evoluzione.
Telmo Pievani, evoluzionista, filosofo della scienza, saggista, insegna Filosofia delle scienze biologiche presso il Dipartimento di Biologia dell’Università di Padova ed è visiting scientist presso l’American Museum of Natural History di New York; collabora con il Corriere della sera, Le Scienze, MicroMega, Lucy.
Vincenzo Calvo è docente di Psicodinamica delle relazioni familiari presso il Dipartimento di Filosofia, Sociologia, Pedagogia e Psicologia Applicata.

No full textFra i più notevoli esempi di poesia comico-satirica di fine Quattrocento, le rime di Andrea Michieli detto lo Strazzola (m. 1510) hanno goduto di scarsissima attenzione da parte degli studiosi.
Di questo corpus si dà qui per la prima volta un’edizione critica integrale, corredata di un commento volto anzitutto a chiarire la lettera del testo e la fitta trama di allusioni e di riferimenti alla Venezia del tempo.
Dalla raccolta emerge la complessa figura di un poeta veneziano che prova a presentarsi, tramite un originale burchiellismo lagunare, quale illustre epigono della tradizione comico‑satirica toscana.Fra i più notevoli esempi di poesia comico-satirica di fine Quattrocento, le rime di Andrea Michieli detto lo Strazzola (m. 1510) hanno goduto di scarsissima attenzione da parte degli studiosi.

Dalla raccolta emerge la complessa figura di un poeta veneziano che prova a presentarsi, tramite un originale burchiellismo lagunare, quale illustre epigono della tradizione comico‑satirica toscana.During the fifteenth century, the Veneto region experienced an increase of eccentric and experimental literary movements, which spread across the province but rarely reached Venice itself.
Among the few poetic voices of the capital, Andrea Michieli, known as “lo Strazzola” (d. 1510), stands out as the author of a notable collection of comic-satirical rhymes.
His works, primarily preserved in manuscript alpha.G.6.13 at the Biblioteca Estense in Modena, were discovered in the late nineteenth century by Vittorio Rossi, though they were never published.
This volume presents the first critical and annotated edition of Michieli’s complete works, introduced by an historical-literary preface, which includes a linguistic analysis and a study of the manuscript tradition.
Strazzola’s rhymes not only reflect the forms and styles that Tuscan comic-satirical poetry took on in northern Italy at the end of the fifteenth century, but they also serve as a valuable testament to the Venetian poetic language of the late Quattrocento, offering insight into numerous contemporary Venetian events

Los ensayos aquí recogidos ofrecen una perspectiva que abarca varios siglos y una diversidad de temas y expresiones artísticas.
En particular, aunque de modo no exclusivo, estos se enfocan sobre la elaboración en clave fantástica –entendida esta en sentido amplio– de la enfermedad y de la medicina.
Los trabajos presentados escudriñan autores y obras que se han enfrentado con la experiencia límite de la enfermedad y de su sanación y que, además, lo han hecho llevando al extremo su propia palabra e imaginación.Literatura y medicina han entablado, en la historia, una relación necesaria y apremiante. The collected essays that comprise this volume offer diverse perspectives and approaches, that enhance the topicality and relevance of the explored themes.
On the one hand, the works draw attention to artistic expressions that use fantastic rhetoric, seeking to deepen the sense of the unknown by overcoming the boundaries of reality. Indeed, this aesthetic quest is inevitably intertwined with the sphere of illness and its potential healing. The perimeter of the human experience seems to fall into a doubtful and dim atmosphere.
On the other hand, we also know that literature depicts the world in a realistic or mimetic manner.
This approach has been considered in a way that engages with the fissures produced by the altered state of the subject. Moreover, an important part of this study is dedicated to non-hegemonic medical knowledge and practices belonging to indigenous and traditional cultures that firmly challenge Eurocentrism imposition that is apparently indisputable.
Overall, we can conclude that this book poses a series of original suggestions that reveal the urgency of preserving investigating the way we interpret the untold, the unintelligible, and the unacceptable

No full textLa problematica espressa dal titolo si presenta presso la Biblioteca Statale del Vorarlberg in relazione a una collezione fotografica basata su Phaidra che comprende fotografie di propaganda dei nazionalsocialisti austriaci realizzate tra il 1938 e il 1941. La collezione è eccezionale, poiché esistono pochissime fotografie di questo periodo, ed è pertanto di grande importanza per la ricerca storica. Per la Biblioteca è stato fondamentale trovare un equilibrio tra il libero accesso all’informazione e la responsabilità di una corretta presentazione di materiali storici sensibili. La contestualizzazione e l’adattamento delle condizioni d’uso possono rappresentare metodi per individuare una soluzione. Alla fine, le fotografie sono state utilizzate per una mostra di grande rilievo al vorarlberg museum, intitolata Jung, modern – und Nazi. Der Fotograf Werner Schlegel und seine Generation (“Giovane, moderno – e nazista. Il fotografo Werner Schlegel e la sua generazione”).This question arises in the Vorarlberg State Library with regard to a Phaidra-based photo collection featuring propaganda photographs of the Austrian National Socialists from 1938 to 1941. The collection is exceptional, as there are hardly any photographs from this period, and it is therefore of great importance for historical research. For the Library it was important to find a balance between free access to information and the responsibility for the correct presentation of sensitive historical materials. Contextualization and adaptation of the terms of use can be methods to find a solution. Ultimately, the photos were suitable for a much-noticed exhibition at the vorarlberg museum.
