Specifics of bureaucratisation of public organizations in the Republic of Croatia
Svaka organizacija rezultat je procesa organiziranja. Da bi neka organizacija funkcionirala i bila uspješna prvenstveno je potrebna jako dobra organizacijska struktura. U različitim organizacijama modernog društva često se pronalazi birokracija. Termin „birokracija“ označava vrstu organizacije u kojoj njeni službenici rade po definiranim pravilima i procedurama te u sklopu jasne hijerarhijske strukture zapovijedanja. Uz mnoge druge i Hrvatska pošta predstavlja oblik javne i birokratske organizacije. U poštanskoj djelatnosti davatelji poštanskih usluga suočavaju se s novim trendovima poslovanja. Zbog pojave novih tehnologija smanjuje se broj pismovnih pošiljaka. Stoga su davatelji poštanskih usluga primorani inovirati i uvoditi nove usluge. Automatizacijom i uvođenjem novih usluga javlja se višak radne snage pa je pošta dužna optimizirati svoje kapacitete, a sve u svrhu racionalizacije i optimizacije svog poslovanja. Digitalizacija usluga donijela je i promjenu navika potrošača te pojavu e-trgovine.Every organization is the result of the organizing process. For an organization to function and be successful, a very good organizational structure is primarily required. Bureaucracy is often found in different organizations of modern society. The term 'bureaucracy' refers to a type of organization in which its officials work according to defined rules and procedures, within a clear hierarchical command structure. Along with many others, Croatian Post represents a form of public and bureaucratic organization. In the postal sector, postal service providers are facing new business trends. Due to the emergence of new technologies, the number of written mail items is decreasing. Therefore, postal service providers are forced to innovate and introduce new services. Automation and the introduction of new services lead to a surplus of workforce, so the post office is obliged to optimize its capacities, all with the aim of rationalizing and optimizing its business. Digitalization of services has also brought a change in consumer habits and the emergence of e-commerce. With the daily change in user habits, Croatian Post is trying to align its operations with the future business strategy in order to be ready to respond to market needs and demands in the future
Synthesis and structural characterization of new quinoline-imidazole conjugates
U posljednje vrijeme sve veći značaj ima primjena održivog pristupa u organskoj sintezi radi smanjenja štetnog utjecaj otapala na okoliš, energetske potrošnje te poboljšanja učinkovitosti same sinteze. U ovom radu provedena je sinteza konjugata kinolina i nitrosupstituiranog imidazola premoštenih triazolnim prstenom. U tu svrhu provedena je sinteza terminalnog alkina (15) N-propargiliranjem 4-nitro-1H-imidazola te sinteza azida (7−9) iz O-alkiliranih derivata kinolina (4−6) za dobivanje novih konjugata kinolina i imidazola (18−20). Nadalje, pripravljeni su terminalni alkini (10−12) reakcijom N-propargiliranih 4-hidroksikinolina (1−3) te imidazolnog azida (17) potrebni za sintezu novih spojeva 21−23. Također, za sintezu spojeva 24−25 provedena je sinteza 7-supstituirano kinolinskih azida (13−14) te propargiliranog imidazolnog derivata (15). Svi konačno sintetizirani spojevi u svojoj strukturi sadrže uz kinolinski, imidazolni prsten i 1,2,3-triazolni prsten. Sinteza konačnih spojeva provedena je mehanokemijskim putem, kako bi se skratilo vrijeme reakcije i poboljšalo iskorištenje. Mehanokemijska reakcija 1,3-dipolarne cikloadicije provedena je uz bakrov(II) acetat te malu količinu metanola koja je imala funkciju reducensa. Strukture svih novosintetiziranih spojeva 18−25 potvrđene su spektroskopijom 1H i 13C NMR.Recently, sustainable approach in organic synthesis has been increasingly applied to reduce the harmful impact of solvents on the environment, lower energy consumption and improve the efficiency of the synthesis itself. In this work, the synthesis of a terminal alkyne (15) was carried out via N-propargylation of 4-nitro-1H-imidazole and the synthesis of azides (7–9) from O-alkylated quinoline derivatives (4–6) to obtain new quinoline–imidazole conjugates (18–20). Furthermore, reactions of terminal alkynes (10–12), N-propargylated 4-hydroxyquinolines (1–3) and N-alkylated imidazole azide (17) afforded new compounds 21–23. For the synthesis of compounds with both quinoline and imidazole rings (24–25), quinoline azides (13–14) substituted at the C-7 position and a terminal alkyne as an imidazole derivative (15) were synthesized. All target compounds synthesized contain, in addition to quinoline, imidazole ring, and 1,2,3-triazole unit. The 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition were carried out by mechanochemical reactions using copper(II) acetate as catalyst, and a small amount of methanol, which acted as a reducing agent to convert copper(II) into catalytically active copper(I). The structures of all newly synthesized compounds 18–25 were confirmed using 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy
Impact of SBT impeller diameter on kinetics of copper sorption on zeolite : diploma thesis
Ispitivan je utjecaj promjera turbinskog miješala s ravnim lopaticama, tzv. SBT miješala na sorpciju iona bakra na sintetskom zeolitu NaX. Kinetički eksperimenti su provedeni u kotlastom reaktoru nestandardnih dimenzija uz miješanje suspenzije pri konstantnoj temperaturi u trajanju od 30 minuta. Analiza dobivenih kinetičkih podataka provedena je primjenom Blanchardovog i Weber-Morrisovog modela. Dobro slaganje eksperimentalnih kinetičkih podataka s Blanchardovim modelom i neslaganje s Weber-Morrisovim modelom ukazuje na to da ispitivana reakcija prati kinetiku reakcije drugog reda i da difuzijski procesi ne utječu na ukupnu brzinu ispitivanog procesa.The influence of the diameter of the turbine impeller with flat blades, the so-called SBT impeller for the sorption of copper ions on synthetic zeolite NaX was examined. The kinetic experiments were carried out in a batch reactor with non-standard dimensions while stirring of the suspension at a constant temperature for 30 minutes. The kinetic data obtained were analysed using the Blanchard and Weber-Morris models. The good agreement of the experimental kinetic data with the Blanchard model and the disagreement with the Weber-Morris model indicate that the investigated reaction follows second-order reaction kinetics and that diffusion processes do not affect the overall rate of the investigated process
Application of the Industry 5.0 and Supply Chain Management 5.0 concept in the Croatian retail sector
Ovaj rad analizira koncepte Industrije 5.0 i upravljanja lancem opskrbe 5.0 i njihovu primjenu u maloprodajnom sektoru, s naglaskom na spremnost hrvatskih maloprodajnih lanaca na ovu tranziciju. Upravljanje lancem opskrbe 5.0, kao dio šire paradigme Industrije 5.0, temelji se na integraciji naprednih tehnologija s ljudsko-centričnim pristupom, održivošću i otpornosti opskrbnih lanaca. U radu se polazi od teorijskog pregleda u kojem su prikazane značajke Industrije 5.0 kao što su održivost, otpornost i ljudsko-centrični pristup. Nadalje, u radu je prikazano prikazana integracija koncepta Industrije 5.0 u lance opskrbe s naglaskom na maloprodaju te kako ona doprinosi stvaranju održivijeg i otpornije sustava. Teorijski dio popraćen je primjerima iz prakse u kojima su vidljive prednosti digitalizacije u lancima opskrbe.
Istraživački dio rada temelji se na anketnom istraživanju koje je strukturirano na načina da da odgovore vezane uz trenutno stanje, spremnost i razmišljanja hrvatskih maloprodajnih lanaca prema digitalizaciji lanaca opskrbe i maloprodaje.This paper analyzes the concepts of Industry 5.0 and Supply Chain Management 5.0 and their application in the retail sector, with a focus on the readiness of Croatian retail chains for this transition. Supply Chain Management 5.0, as part of the broader Industry 5.0 paradigm, is based on the integration of advanced technologies with a human-centric approach, sustainability, and supply chain resilience. The paper begins with a theoretical overview highlighting the key features of Industry 5.0, such as sustainability, resilience, and human-centeredness. Furthermore, it presents the integration of Industry 5.0 concepts into supply chains, with an emphasis on retail, and how this contributes to the creation of more sustainable and resilient systems. The theoretical framework is supported by practical examples demonstrating the advantages of digitalization in supply chains.

Phytochemical composition and antioxidant activity of different pepper varieties
Ovim diplomskim radom analiziran je sastav i ispitivano je antioksidacijsko djelovanje suhih plodova vrsta Piper nigrum, Piperaceace, Piper borbonense, Piperaceae, Piper cubeba, Piperaceae, Schinus terebinthifolia, Anacardiaceae, Zanthoxylum simulans, Rutaceae te Amomum melegueta, Zingiberaceae. Identifikacija alkaloida (piperina), derivata terpena (borneola), flavonoida (kvercitrina, izokvercitrina i rutina) i fenolnih kiselina (klorogenske, ružmarinske i kavene kiseline) provedena je prikladnom metodom TLC-a (tankoslojne kromatografije). Metoda tekućinske kromatografije visoke djelotvornosti (HPLC) korištena je za kvantifikaciju piperin u uzorcima. TLC i HPLC metodom dokazana je prisutnost piperina u bijelom, zelenom i crnom papru vrste P. nigrum, i u vrsti P. borbonense. TLC metodom dokazana je prisutnost borneola u vrsti S. terebinthifolia i A. melegueta, a prisutnost izokvercitrina, rutina i klorogenske kiseline može se potvrditi kod vrste Z. simulans. Kvercitrin, ružmarinska i kavena kiselina nisu identificirane ni kod jednog uzorka. Antioksidacijsko djelovanje potvrđeno je sposobnošću hvatanja DPPH slobodnog radikala, gdje je rezultat prikazan postotokom inhibicije DPPH radikala pri koncentraciji od 800 μg/mL: Z. simulans (sečuanski papar) = 91,47 ± 1,33 %, A. melegueta (malagueta papar) = 85,47 ± 2,08 %, S. terebinthifolia (rozi papar) = 75,50 ± 2,97 %, od vrste P. nigrum, zeleni papar = 73,55 ± 2,75 %, crni papar = 56,85 ± 0,23 %, bijeli papar = 52,12 ± 8,15 %, P. cubeba (javanski papar) = 51,94 ± 0,62 %, dok je P. borbonense (voatsiperifery papar) = 45,92 ± 5,29 %. Ovaj rad doprinosi boljem razumijevanju fitoterapijskog potencijala različitih vrsta papra.The thesis paper analyses the composition and investigates the antioxidant effect of dried fruits of the species Piper nigrum, Piperaceace, Piper borbonense, Piperaceae, Piper cubeba, Piperaceae, Schinus terebinthifolia, Anacardiaceae, Zanthoxylum simulans, Rutaceae and Amomum melegueta, Zingiberaceae. The appropriate TLC (thin layer chromatography) method is used in the identification of alkaloids (piperine), terpene derivatives (borneol), flavonoids (quercitrin, isoquercitrin and rutin) and phenolic acids (chlorogenic, rosmarinic and caffeic acids). The high-performance liquid chromatography method (HPLC) is used to quantify piperine in the samples. The presence of piperine in white, green and black pepper of the species P. nigrum, and in the species P. borbonense is proven by both the TLC and the HPLC method. The TLC method verified the presence of borneol in S. terebinthifolius and A. melegueta, while the presence of isoquercitrin, rutin and chlorogenic acid is confirmed to be present in Z. simulans. Quercitrin, rosmarinic and caffeic acids are not identified in any of the samples. The antioxidant effect is confirmed by their ability to scavenge the DPPH free radical, where the result is shown by the percentage of DPPH radical inhibition at a concentration of 800μg/mL: Z. simulans (Szechuan pepper) = 91.47±1.33%, A. melegueta (malagueta pepper) = 85.47±2.08%, S. terebinthifolia (pink pepper) = 75.50±2.97%, from the species P. nigrum, green pepper = 73.55±2.75%, black pepper = 56.85±0.23%, white pepper = 52.12±8.15%, P. cubeba (Javanese pepper) = 51.94±0.62%, while P. borbonense (voatsiperifery pepper) = 45.92±5.29%. This paper contributes to a better understanding of the phytotherapeutic potential of the different pepper species
Advantages and disadvantages of purchasing over-the-counter medications
Ovaj rad istražuje dostupnost bezreceptnih lijekova u maloprodajnim kanalima u Hrvatskoj i svijetu te faktore koji utječu na njihovu prodaju. U današnje vrijeme prodaja bezreceptnih lijekova izvan ljekarni postala je sve češća pojava. Teorijski dio temelji se na analizi dostupne literature, stručnih članaka i časopisa o dostupnosti bezreceptnih lijekova u različitim maloprodajnim kanalima, nakon čega slijedi detaljna analiza faktora koji utječu na njihovu kupnju. Nadalje, analizira se tržište bezreceptnih lijekova s naglaskom na različite maloprodajne kanale. Cilj istraživanja je utvrditi koji čimbenici utječu na kupovinu bezreceptnih lijekova te zaključiti koje su prednosti, a koji nedostaci. Rezultati istraživanja pokazuju kako ispitanici najčešće kupuju bezreceptne lijekove u ljekarnama, dok u drugim maloprodajnim kanalima ta potrošnja je znatno manja.This paper examines the availability of over-the-counter (OTC) medicines in retail channels in Croatia and other countries, as well as the factors influencing their sales. Nowadays, the sale of OTC medicines outside pharmacies has become an increasing trend. The theoretical section is based on an analysis of available literature, expert articles and journals regarding the availability of OTC medicines in different retail channels, followed by a detailed analysis of the factors affecting their purchase. Furthermore, the paper includes an overview of the OTC medicine market, analyzing various retail channels. The research aims to identify which factors influence the purchase of OTC medicines and to determine their advantage and disadvantages. The results show that respondents still primarily buy OTC medicines in pharmacies, while they purchase them significantly less in other retail formats
Razgradnja antivirusnih lijekova Ribavirina i Emtricitabina Fentonovom oksidacijom
Along with all the benefits modern medicine has brought, they have also brought issues pertaining to their disposal. Removing medical pollutants from wastewater protects humans as well as the environment. Fenton oxidation is a quick and relatively inexpensive option to oxidize pollutants in wastewater. This thesis investigates the best conditions for Fenton oxidation to decompose two common antiviral medications: ribavirin and emtricitabine.
The tested conditions were reactant concentrations and pH of the reaction. Fenton oxidation requires an iron (II) ion to hydroxyl radicals from hydrogen peroxide that then oxidize the antivirals. Iron (II) concentrations were tested against concentration of hydrogen peroxide in three concentration levels. Each experiment was conducted at three pH levels: 3, 4, and 5. High-performance liquid chromatography was employed to analyze the results.
Response surface modelling was employed to determine the relationship between reactant and pollutant concentrations and the significance of those results were determined by ANOVA. The ribavirin decomposition was plagued by side reactions that reduced the available radical to decompose the medication, resulting in low decomposition but significant results. Emtricitabine decomposition fared better, resulting in complete and near-complete decomposition in one minute with significant results.Uz sve prednosti koje je donijela suvremena medicina, došli su i problemi kod njihova zbrinjavanja i uklanjanja. Uklanjanje medicinskih onečišćujuća tvar iz otpadnih voda štiti ljude kao i okoliš. Fenton oksidacija je brza i relativno jeftina opcija za oksidaciju zagađivača u otpadnoj vodi. Ovaj rad istražuje najbolje uvjete za Fentonovu oksidaciju za razgradnju dva uobičajena antivirusna lijeka: ribavirin i emtricitabin. Uvjeti u ispitivanju bili su koncentracije reaktanata i pH reakcije. Fentonova oksidacija zahtijeva ion željeza (II) za razgradnju vodikovog peroksida u hidroksilne radijale koji zatim oksidiraju antivirusne lijekove. Ispitane su tri koncentracije iona željeza (II) u odnosu na tri koncentracije vodikovog peroksida.
Svaki eksperiment je proveden na tri razine pH: 3, 4 i 5. Za analizu rezultata korištena je tekućinska kromatografija visoke učinkovitosti. Modeliranje površine odgovora korišteno je za određivanje odnosa između koncentracija reaktanata, a značajnost tih rezultata određena je ANOVA. Razgradnja ribavirina bila je praćena nuspojavama koje su smanjile raspoloživi radikal za razgradnju lijeka, što je rezultiralo slabom razgradnjom, ali značajnim rezultatima. Razgradnja emtricitabina bila je bolja, što je rezultiralo potpunom i gotovo potpunom razgradnjom u jednoj minuti sa značajnim rezultatima
Wastewater treatment by hybrid electrocoagulation process with aluminium electrodes, zeolite and magnet : diploma thesis
U ovom radu ispitano je djelovanje magneta na učinkovitost obrade otpadne kompostne vode s hibridinim procesom elektrokoagulacije s aluminijevim elektrodama uz dodatak sintetskog zeolita i primjene magneta. Eksperimenti su provedeni u trajanju od 10 do 30 minuta bez podešavanja početne pH vrijednosti, uz dvije brzine vrtnje miješala od 250 i 350 okr./min te prisutnost i odsutnost magneta. Učinkovitost procesa ispitivana je preko fizikalno-kemijskih pokazatelja, promjene mase elektroda te sposobnosti taloženja suspenzije. Na kraju je provedena analiza operativnih troškova na temelju Faradayeva zakona i stvarne potrošnje elektroda. Rezultati su pokazali da je nešto veći porast temperature otopine u eksperimentima s magnetom u trajanju od 20 i 30 minuta, porast pH vrijednosti za eksperimente u trajanju od 30 minuta, dok vrijednosti električne vodljivosti i prikupljene mase taloga osciliraju ovisno o vremenu kontakta, prisutnosti magneta i brzini vrtnje miješala. Prisutnost magneta je kod eksperimenata u trajanju od 30 minuta pridonijela većem smanjenju kemijske potrošnje kisika (KPK), a u eksperimentima u trajanju od 20 i 30 minuta za uklanjanje mutnoće. Međutim, elektrokoagulacija potpomognuta magnetom pokazuje trend veće potrošnje električne energije, dok je manja potrošnja elektroda uočena samo u eksperimentima pri 20 min vremena kontakta i brzini vrtnje od 250 okr./min.In this paper, the effect of magnets on the efficiency of waste compost water treatment with the hybrid process of electrocoagulation with aluminum electrodes with the addition of synthetic zeolite and magnets usage was examined. The experiments were carried out for 10 to 30 minutes without adjusting the initial pH value, with two mixing speeds of 250 and 350 rpm and the presence or absence of a magnet. The effectiveness of the process was examined through physico-chemical indicators, changes in the mass of the electrodes and the ability to settle the suspension. At the end, an analysis of operating costs was evaluated based on Faraday's law and the actual consumption of electrodes. The results showed that the increase in the temperature of the solution in the experiments with a magnet lasting 20 and 30 minutes was slightly higher, the increase in the pH value for the experiments lasting 30 minutes, while the values of the electrical conductivity and the collected mass of the precipitate fluctuated depending on the contact time, the presence of the magnet and mixing speed. The presence of the magnet contributed to a greater reduction of COD in the 30-minute experiments, and to the removal of turbidity in the 20- and 30-minute experiments. However, magnet-assisted electrocoagulation shows a trend of higher electricity consumption, while lower electrode consumption was observed only in experiments with 20 min of contact time and a rotation speed of 250 rpm
Application of generative artificial intelligence in the maintenance of technical systems
Ovaj završni rad analizira primjenu generativne umjetne inteligencije u održavanju tehničkih sustava. U uvodnom dijelu prikazan je povijesni razvoj strategija održavanja, kao i razvoj umjetne inteligencije. Središnji dio rada usmjeren je na primjenu genera tivne umjetne inteligencije u održavanju tehničkih sustava, prikazujući najznačajnije prednosti i izazove, dva praktična primjera i analizu jednog komercijalnog softverskog rješenja. Dva praktična primjera ilustriraju rješavanje problema klasifikacije stanja opreme primjenjujući ChatGPT. U prvom primjeru stanje opreme klasificirano je prema normi ISO 10816, dok su u drugom primjeru korišteni stvarni podaci prikupljeni s pomoću senzora. Analiza Senseye Predictive Maintenance, komercijalnog softverskog rješenja koje primjenjuje umjetnu inteligenciju za prediktivno održavanje, ostvarena je u suradnji sa Siemens Hrvatska. Na kraju rada izveden je zaključak o primjeni generativne umjetne inteligencije u održavanju tehničkih sustava.This bachelor's thesis analyses the application of generative artificial intelligence in the maintenance of technical systems. The introductory part presents the historical development of maintenance strategies, as well as the development of artificial intelligence. The central part of the thesis focuses on the application of generative artificial intelligence in the maintenance of technical systems, presenting the most significant advantages and challenges, two practical examples, and an analysis of a commercial software solution. The two practical examples illustrate the solution of the equipment condition classification problem using ChatGPT. In the first example, the equipment condition is classified according to the ISO 10816 standard, while the second example used real data collected using sensors. The analysis of Senseye Predictive Maintenance, a commercial software solution that applies artificial intelligence for predictive maintenance, was conducted in collaboration with Siemens Croatia. At the end of the thesis, a conclusion is drawn on the application of generative artificial intelligence in the maintenance of technical systems
Hand cart for the Formula Student electric racing vehicle battery
U ovom završnom radu osmišljena su i konstrukcijski detaljno razrađena ručno pogonjena kolica specijalizirana za transport i punjenje baterije korištene u bolidu Formula Student natjecanja. Glavni cilj bio je razviti mobilno i funkcionalno rješenje koje će omogućiti sigurno i jednostavno prenošenje baterije unutar boksa (engl. pit area), uz integraciju sustava za punjenje kako bi se smanjila potreba za dodatnom opremom tijekom natjecanja.
Rad započinje analizom postojećih rješenja i pregledom tehničkih zahtjeva propisanih pravilima Formula Student natjecanja, s posebnim naglaskom na sigurnost pri radu s visokim naponom i ergonomiju pri rukovanju teškim komponentama. Nakon definiranja tehničkih i funkcionalnih zahtjeva, razvijeno je nekoliko konceptualnih rješenja kolica, koja su vrednovana prema unaprijed definiranim kriterijima kao što su stabilnost, jednostavnost korištenja, sigurnost i integracija sustava za punjenje.
Na temelju rezultata analize, odabran je koncept koji je dobio najviše ocjene te je napravljena detaljna konstrukcijska razrada. U sklopu razrade izrađeni su detaljni proračuni ključnih elemenata, uključujući nosive komponente i mehanizam za zaključavanje baterije tijekom transporta. Također, izrađena je kompletna tehnička dokumentacija i 3D model pomoću CAD softvera, čime je omogućena vizualizacija konačnog dizajna te provjera njegove izvedivosti i praktičnosti.
Osim konstrukcijskih aspekata, rad uključuje i pregled sigurnosnih mjera koje je potrebno provesti kako bi kolica bila usklađena s međunarodnim standardima za rad s litij-ionskim baterijama, uključujući izolaciju električnih spojeva i zaštitu od mehaničkih oštećenja. Kroz integraciju rješenja za punjenje unutar kolica, omogućena je dodatna funkcionalnost koja olakšava rad tehničkog tima i smanjuje vrijeme potrebno za pripremu vozila tijekom natjecanja.
Kao rezultat ovog rada, razvijeno je inovativno i praktično rješenje koje zadovoljava sve postavljene tehničke zahtjeve i pridonosi poboljšanju operativne učinkovitosti tijekom natjecanja Formula Student.In this thesis, manually powered carts designed specifically for transporting and charging the battery used in a Formula Student race car were thoroughly conceptualized and structurally developed. The primary objective was to create a mobile and functional solution that would enable the safe and simple transport of the battery within the pit area, integrating a charging system to minimize the need for additional equipment during competitions.
The thesis begins with an analysis of existing solutions and a review of the technical requirements outlined by the Formula Student competition rules, emphasizing safety when working with high voltage and ergonomics for handling heavy components. After defining technical and functional requirements, several conceptual designs for the cart were developed and evaluated according to predefined criteria, such as stability, ease of use, safety, and charging system integration.
Based on the evaluation results, the highest-rated concept was selected for detailed structural development. This phase included precise technical calculations of key components, such as load-bearing structures and a locking mechanism for securing the battery during transport. Additionally, comprehensive technical documentation and a 3D model were created using CAD software, allowing for visualization of the final design and verification of its feasibility and practicality.
In addition to structural aspects, the thesis also addresses safety measures necessary for compliance with international standards for handling lithium-ion batteries, including electrical connection insulation and protection against mechanical damage. By integrating a charging system within the cart, additional functionality was achieved, simplifying the technical team’s work and reducing the time required for vehicle preparation during competitions.
