    A breath of Fresh Air: The Fiesta Grande of Chiapa de Corzo and the Parachicos After the COVID-19 Pandemic

    The Covid-19 pandemic harshly curtailed thenaturalness of movement, making travel and the normality of face-to-face interaction impossible. This non-presence of people also left the spaces and constructions representative of sociocultural processes in solitude and silence. After the gradual disappearance of restrictions, the bearers of cultural heritage rediscovered themselves by returning to what was important in their practices. The evocation of a not-too distant past where collective action constantly provided meaning, a process of reflection began without the presence of visitors, which gave as a result, a critical look towards tourist activity. Thus, the celebration of the Fiesta Grande in the community of Chiapa de Corzo became a clear example of how tourist activity surpassed cultural activity understood as a manifestation of identity. The COVID-19 pandemic meant for the Parachicos brotherhood an opportunity to rediscover tradition and propose, from the appreciation of the deep meanings of their practice and new organizational conditions for coexistence between tourists and the community. Through a fieldwork data analysis and interviews, we illustrated how the celebration revitalized through a better interaction between Parachicos brotherhood, the local authorities, and the tourist vendors

    Calculation of single roof wooden structure

    U ovom radu bavili smo se projektiranjem jednostrešne drvene konstrukcije . Prvi dio zadatka bio je izračunati opterećenja od snijega i vjetra na podrožnicu i glavni nosač. Opterećenje snijegom računali smo prema Eurokodu EN 1991-1-3, a vjetar prema Eurokodu EN 1991-1-2. Provedenim proračunom dobili smo vrijednost opterećenja snijegom od 0,8 kN/2 , te vrijednost opterećenja vjetrom od 0,17 kN2. Stalno opterećenje ja zadano te uzeto kao takvo u proračun, a iznosi gk=0,20 kN/2. Prema zadanom predlošku dimenzionirani su elementi zadanih statičkih sustava glavnih - POZ 2 i sekundarnih (podrožnica) POZ 1 prema trenutno važećim HRN-EN normama i propisima. Statički sustav podrožnice je prosta greda. Nakon analize opterećenja koje djeluje na podrožnicu i dobivanja proračunskih vrijednosti unutarnjih sila, izvršeno je dimenzioniranje. Dimenzije poprečnog presjeka podrožnice su b/h=14/24 cm, a izvodi se od crnogoričnog cjelovitog drveta razreda čvrstoće C24. Nakon provedenog dokaza graničnog stanja nosivosti, iskorištenost poprečnog presjeka podrožnice je 64%. Na osnovu iskorištenosti poprečnog presjeka možemo reći da imamo racionalan i ekonomski isplativ element. Provjereno je granično stanje nosivosti, te je zaključeno kako su svi progibi unutar dozvoljenih granica. Dimenzije poprečnog presjeka grede glavnog nosača su b/h=14/46 cm, a dimenzije stupa b/h=14/14cm. Elementi su izvedeni od lijepljenog lameliranog drva, razreda čvrstoće GL24h. Nakon provedenih dokaza GSN, iskorištenost poprečnog presjeka elementa grede je 93%, dok je elementa stupa 47%.In this project, we focused on designing a wooden canopy. The first part of the task was to calculate the loads from snow and wind on the purlin and the main beam. We calculated the snow load according to Eurocode EN 1991-1-3 and the wind load according to Eurocode EN 1991-1-2. From the calculation, we obtained the snow load value of 0,8 kN/2 ,, and the wind load value of 0,17 kN/2. The permanent load is given and was taken as such in the calculation, amounting to gk=0.20 kN/m². According to the given template, we dimensioned the elements of the defined static systems, main – POZ 2, and secondary (purlin) POZ 1, according to the currently applicable HRN-EN standards and regulations. The static system of the purlin is a simple beam. After analyzing the loads acting on the purlin and obtaining the calculated values of internal forces, dimensioning was carried out. The cross-section dimensions of the purlin are b/h = 14/24 cm, and it is made from solid softwood of strength class C24. After conducting the ultimate limit state check, the utilization of the purlin cross-section is 64 %. Based on the cross-section utilization, we can say that we have a rational and economically viable element. The ultimate limit state was checked, and it was concluded that all deflections are within the allowable limits. The cross-section dimensions of the main beam are b/h = 14/46 cm, and the column dimensions are b/h = 14/14 cm. The elements are made of glued laminated timber, strength class GL24h. After conducting the ULS checks, the utilization of the beam cross-section is 93%, while that of the column is 47%

    Utjecaj umjetne inteligencije na suvremenu glazbenu industriju

    Zahvaljujući tehnološkom napretku glazba i glazbenici dostupniji su nego ikad i mogu se bolje povezati sa svojim slušateljima. Koristeći umjetnu inteligenciju, aplikacije za slušanje glazbe poput Spotify-a, Deezer-a ili YouTube-a prilagođavaju sadržaje svojim korisnicima, preporučuju novu glazbu prema njihovom ukusu i na taj način doprinose razvoju glazbene industrije. Umjetna inteligencija u glazbi se koristi i u obliku generatora glazbenih sadržaja koji na temelju algoritama i učeći iz velikih baza podataka generiraju potpuno nove skladbe i pjesme. Mogu skladati u bilo kojem stilu, pisati tekstove, čak i skladati u stilu glazbenih sastava ili skladatelja koji više ne djeluju ili ne postoje. Takve programe producenti mogu koristiti kako svoje vrijeme ne bi trošili na skladanje i snimanje već se mogu posvetiti marketingu i na taj način ostvariti veći profit. Ali tako se gubi umjetnost jer umjetno generirana glazba ne može prenijeti emocije i nedostaje joj ljudske kreativnosti. Puno bolji način korištenja umjetne inteligencije za stvaranje glazbe je koristeći je kao alat, stvarajući nove zvukove i smjernicama usmjeravati algoritam kako bi se postigao željeni rezultat. Na taj način glazba se može personalizirati, prilagoditi svačijem ukusu, što je ponovno dobro za razvoj glazbene industrije. Uz to umjetna inteligencija od velikog značaja može biti i u obrazovnom sustavu, spajajući je sa električnim instrumentima što potiče učenike na kreativnost, otkrivanje novih zvukova, ali i pomaže kod vježbanja i pridonosi kvalitetnijoj nastavi.Thanks to technological advances, music and musicians are more accessible than ever and can better connect with their listeners. Using artificial intelligence, Streaming services such as Spotify, Deezer or YouTube adapt content to their users, recommend new music according to their taste and thus contribute to the development of the music industry. Artificial intelligence in music is also used in the form of music content generators, that, based on algorithms and learning from large databases, generate completely new compositions and songs. It can compose in any style, write lyrics, even compose in the style of bands or composers who are no longer active or exist. Producers can use such programs so that they don't spend their time on composing and recording, but instead can devote themselves to marketing and thus make more profit. But this is how art is lost because artificially generated music cannot convey emotions and lacks human creativity. A much better way to use AI to create music is by using it as a tool for creating new sounds and guiding the algorithm to achieve the desired result. In this way, music can be personalized, adapted to everyone's taste, which is again good for the development of the music industry. In addition, artificial intelligence can be of great importance in the educational system, combining it with electric instruments, which encourages students to be creative, discover new sounds, but also helps with practice and contributes to better teaching

    Romantizam je razdoblje u povijesti umjetnosti od kasnog 18. do sredine 19. stoljeća. Prvo se pojavio u književnosti, a na kraju u glazbi. Romantizam u glazbi odlikuje isticanje osjećaja nasuprot razumu, istraživanje prirode i nadnaravnog, individualnost i bijeg od stvarnosti. U glazbi se romantizam dijeli na 3 glavna perioda, a oni su rani, srednji i kasni romantizam. Veliki značaj nose kasni romantičari jer uspostavljena sredstva i postupke dovode do krajnosti te postavljaju temelje za novu nadolazeću grupu skladatelja. Oblikuje ih u najvećoj mjeri Richard Wagner, najistaknutiji skladatelj romantizma, zaslužan i za veliku opernu reformu. Osim Wagnera, veliki značaj za romantizam ima i Gustav Mahler, veliki simfoničar koji je zaslužan za formiranje orkestra kakav je poznat danas. Njihov je utjecaj u 19. stoljeću, kao i u 20., neosporiv. Richard Wagner i Gustav Mahler značajno su utjecali na nove pravce u glazbi 20. stoljeća, kao što su utjecali i na druge skladatelje kolege koji su stvarali u 19. stoljeću kao i oni te se upravo iz tog razloga smatraju glavnim predstavnicima kasnog romantizma.Romanticism is a period in history of art from the late 18th century to the mid-19th century. It first emerged in literature and later in music. Romanticism in music is characterized by emphasizing emotions over reason, exploring nature and the supernatural, individuality, and a departure from reality. In music, Romanticism is divided into three main periods: early, middle, and late Romanticism. Late romantics hold great significance because their establishment of techniques and approaches pushed boundaries and laid the groundwork for a new upcoming group of composers. Richard Wagner, the most prominent composer of Romanticism, played a major role in shaping opera reform. Another important figure in Romanticism is Gustav Mahler, a great symphonist who contributed to the formation of the modern orchestra as we know it today. Their influence in the 19th and 20th centuries is undeniable. Richard Wagner and Gustav Mahler significantly impacted new directions in 20th-century music, as well as influencing their contemporaries who created music in the 19th century. For this reason, they are considered key representatives of late Romanticism

    The Balance between Work and Life for Subjective Well-Being: The Role of Supervisory Justice

    Svrha ovog rada je ispitati važnost ravnoteže poslovnog i privatnog života te pravednosti rukovoditelja za subjektivnu dobrobit zaposlenih. Očekivalo se da će postojati značajan pozitivan doprinos ravnoteže poslovnog i privatnog života subjektivnoj dobrobiti zaposlenika te da će odnos između ravnoteže poslovnog i privatnog života i subjektivne dobrobiti biti snažnije izražen u onih zaposlenika koji smatraju da ih rukovoditelj tretira pravedno. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 527 sudionika, pri čemu je 170 (32.26%) sudionika bilo muškog, a 357 (67.74%) ženskog roda, koji su bili zaposleni najmanje šest mjeseci na istom radnom mjestu. U online istraživanju su se koristili Upitnik o sociodemografskim podacima, BBC skala subjektivne dobrobiti, Skala ravnoteže poslovnog i privatnog života i Skala za mjerenje pravednosti u organizacijskom kontekstu. Rezultati istraživanja ukazuju da postoji značajan pozitivan doprinos ravnoteže poslovnog i privatnog života subjektivnoj dobrobiti zaposlenika, dok se pravednost rukovoditelja nije pokazala statistički značajnim moderatorom u međuodnosu ravnoteže poslovnog i privatnog života i subjektivne dobrobiti zaposlenih. U radu se navode implikacije važne u organizacijskom kontekstu kao i sama ograničenja provedenog istraživanja.The purpose of this study is to examine the importance of work-life balance and supervisory justice for employees' subjective well-being. It was expected that work-life balance would have a significant positive contribution to employees' subjective well-being and that the relationship between work-life balance and subjective well-being would be stronger among employees who perceive their supervisor as just. The study involved 527 participants, of whom 170 (32.26%) were male and 357 (67.74%) were female, all employed in the same position for at least six months. The online survey utilized a Sociodemographic Data Questionnaire, the BBC Subjective Well-being Scale, the Work-life Balance Scale, and the Organizational Justice Scale. The results indicate that work-life balance has a significant positive contribution to employees' subjective well-being. At the same time, supervisory justice did not prove to be a statistically significant moderator in the relationship between work-life balance and subjective well-being. The paper discusses implications relevant to the organizational context and the limitations of the conducted research

    The Influence of Storage Temperature on Changes in Phthalate Concentrations in Beer Packaged in PET Bottles

    Za pakiranje piva se koristi različita ambalaža, a PET boce su popularne zbog cijene, težine, izdržljivosti, lakšeg transporta te mogućnosti recikliranja. Plastika se u okolišu razgrađuje djelovanjem raznih čimbenika pri čemu nastaje mikroplastika, koja je manja od 5 milimetara duljine. Ljudi mikrplastiku najčešće unose putem gastrointestinalnog trakta, a ona uzrokuje brojne toksične učinke. Esteri ftalne kiseline ili ftalati se najčešće koriste kao plastifikatori u obradi plastike. Ftalati nisu kemijski vezani za plastiku pa zbog toga mogu lako migrirati i završiti u hrani i piću. U ovom radu je provedeno istraživanje 11 uzoraka piva pomoću GC/MS metode kako bi se odredila koncentracija ftalata. Pivo je skladišteno na dvije različite temperature, a vrijeme skladištenja je bilo od 2 tjedna do 4 mjeseca. Uzorci su također ispitivani FT-IR metodom kako bi se odredila prisutnost mikroplastike.Various packaging materials are used for beer packaging, and PET bottles are popular due to their price, weight, durability, ease of transport and recyclability. Plastics break down in the environment under the influence of various factors, resulting in microplastics, which are less than 5 millimeters in length. People most often ingest microplastics through the gastrointestinal tract, and they cause numerous toxic effects. Phthalic acid esters or phthalates are most often used as plasticizers in plastic processing. Phthalates are not chemically bound to plastic, so they can easily migrate and end up in food and beverages. In this work, 11 beer samples were studied using the GC/MS method to determine the concentration of phthalates. The beer was stored at two different temperatures, and the storage time ranged from 2 weeks to 4 months. The samples were also examined using the FT-IR method to determine the presence of microplastics

    Varijabilnost potencijala oporavka krava s obzirom na sezonu kontrole mliječnosti

    Cilj istraživanja bio je utvrditi utjecaj sezone kontrole mliječnosti na prevalenciju mastitisa i mogućnost oporavka krava nakon mastitisa. Nakon provedbe logičke kontrole podataka, analizirano je ukupno 3.953.637 zapisa na kontrolni dan krava holstein pasmine prikupljenih u razdoblju od 1. siječnja 2005. do 31. prosinca 2022. Utvrđeni rezultati su pokazali da je prevalencija mastitisa najviša u jesenskom razdoblju te je u tom razdoblju manji ukupni porast proizvodnje mlijeka. S druge strane, prevalencija zdravih krava bila je najveća tijekom ljetnog i zimskog perioda, dok je najveći ukupni porast proizvodnje mlijeka utvrđen tijekom zime. Nadalje, ovi rezultati sugeriraju da su prevalencija mastitisa i potencijal oporavka krava pod značajnim utjecajem sezone, te vrijednosti mogu značajno varirati. Tijekom zimske sezone, koju karakteriziraju niže temperature i niža relativna vlaga u proizvodnim objektima, krave imaju maksimalnu vjerojatnost oporavka i ponovnog uspostavljanja proizvodnog kapaciteta u skladu s njihovim genetskim potencijalom

    The effects of salt intake on vascular function in pregnant women in the third trimester of pregnancy

    Cilj istraživanja: Cilj istraživanja bio je ispitati utjecaj unosa soli hranom tijekom normalne trudnoće na maternalnu mikrovaskularnu i makrovaskularnu reaktivnost ovisnu o endotelu, razinu oksidativnog stresa, indekse fetoplacentne vaskularne funkcije, aktivnost renin-angiotenzinaldosteronskog sustava, ravnotežu placentnih proangiogenih i antiangiogenih čimbenika te biljege pregradnje posteljice. Nacrt studije: Ovo istraživanje ustrojeno je kao presječna opservacijska studija u kojoj su svim ispitanicima uzeti podatci, uzorkovanja i izvršena mjerenja u dvije vremenske točke. Ispitanici i metode: Na temelju 24-satne natrijureze trudnice (37 – 40 tjedana trudnoće) podijeljene su u tri skupine: normalni unos soli (NS; < 5,75 g/dan, N = 12), velik unos soli (HS; 5,75 – 10,25 g/dan, N = 36) i vrlo velik unos soli (VHS; > 10,25 g/dan, N = 17). Svim ispitanicama izmjerena je mikrovaskularna reaktivnost kože podlaktice u odgovoru na vaskularnu okluziju, lokalno zagrijavanje (LTH) i iontoforezu acetilkolina (AChID), kao i protokom posredovana dilatacija (FMD) brahijalne arterije. Izmjereni su sljedeći biljezi endotelne funkcije i oksidativnog stresa: serumska koncentracija dušikovog oksida (NO), endokana, 8-izo-prostaglandina F2a (8-izoPGF2a), reaktivne supstance tiobarbiturne kiseline (TBARS) i sposobnost redukcije željeza u plazmi. Izmjereni su ultrazvučni pokazatelji fetoplacentne funkcije, aktivnost renina u plazmi, koncentracija aldosterona, topljive fms-u slične tirozin kinaze-1 (sFlt-1) i posteljičnog čimbenika rasta (PlGF) u serumu te koncentracija vaskularnog endotelnog čimbenika rasta C (VEGF-C) i matriks metaloproteinaze 9 (MMP-9) u tkivu posteljice. Rezultati: FMD brahijalne arterije, mikrovaskularni AChID i LTH značajno su smanjeni u skupini VHS u usporedbi sa skupinom NS, a i LTH u skupini NS u usporedbi sa skupinom HS. NO je bio značajno smanjen u skupinama HS i VHS u usporedbi sa skupinom NS. Endokan, 8-izo-PGF2a i TBARS bili su značajno povećani u skupini VHS u usporedbi sa skupinom NS. Indeks pulsatilnosti fetalne srednje cerebralne arterije (MCA) bio je značajno smanjen u skupinama HS i VHS u usporedbi sa skupinom NS. Koncentracija aldosterona pokazala je tendenciju porasta s unosom soli, a omjer sFlt-1/PlGF bio je značajno smanjen u skupini VHS u usporedbi sa skupinom NS. Koncentracija VEGF-C i MMP-9 nije se razlikovala među skupinama. 8. SAŽETAK 74 Zaključak: Velik unos soli hranom povezan je sa smanjenom vazodilatacijom ovisnom o endotelu posredovanom NO-om u perifernoj mikrocirkulaciji i makrocirkulaciji zdravih trudnica te povećanim oksidativnim stresom. Nadalje velik unos soli povezan je sa smanjenom pulsatilnošću fetalne MCA, ali i povišenom koncentracijom aldosterona, smanjenim (povoljnijim) omjerom sFlt1/PlGF i nepromijenjenim biljezima pregradnje posteljice.Title: The effects of salt intake on vascular function in pregnant women in the third trimester of pregnancy Objectives: The aim of the study was to investigate the effects of dietary salt intake during normal pregnancy on maternal endothelium-dependent micro- and macrovascular reactivity, degree of oxidative stress, indices of fetoplacental vascular function, activity of the renin-angiotensinaldosterone system (RAAS), balance of placental pro- and antiangiogenic factors, and biomarkers of placental remodeling. Study design: This study was designed as a cross-sectional observational study in which data, samples and measurements were taken from all respondents at two time points. Participants and Methods: Based on 24-hour natriuresis, pregnant women (37–40 weeks gestation) were divided into three groups: normal salt intake (NS; <5.75 g/day, N=12), high salt intake (HS; 5.75 – 10.25 g/day N=36), and very high salt intake (VHS; >10.25 g/day, N=17). In all subjects, microvascular reactivity of the forearm skin was measured in response to vascular occlusion, local heating (LTH) and acetylcholine iontophoresis (AChID), as well as flow-mediated dilation (FMD) of the brachial artery. The following biomarkers of endothelial function and oxidative stress were measured: serum concentrations of nitric oxide (NO), endocan, 8-isoprostaglandin F2a (8-iso-PGF2a), thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) and the ferric reducing ability of plasma. Ultrasound indices of fetoplacental function, plasma renin activity, aldosterone concentration, soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase-1 (sFlt-1) and placental growth factor (PlGF) were measured in serum, and vascular endothelial growth factor C (VEGF-C) and matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9) concentration were measured in placental tissue. Results: Brachial artery FMD, microvascular AChID and LTH were significantly reduced in the VHS group compared to the NS group, and LTH was also significantly reduced in the NS group compared to the HS group. NO was significantly reduced in both the HS and VHS groups compared to the NS group. Endocan, 8-iso-PGF2a and TBARS were significantly increased in the VHS group compared to the NS group. Fetal middle cerebral artery (MCA) pulsatility index was significantly reduced in the HS and VHS groups compared to the NS group. Aldosterone concentration showed a tendency to increase with salt intake, and the sFlt-1/PlGF ratio was significantly reduced in the 9. SUMMARY 76 VHS group compared to the NS group. The concentration of VEGF-C and MMP-9 did not differ between the observed groups. Conclusions: High dietary salt intake is associated with reduced endothelium-dependent NOmediated vasodilatation in the peripheral microcirculation and macrocirculation of healthy pregnant women and increased oxidative stress. Furthermore, high salt intake is associated with decreased fetal MCA pulsatility, but also with increased aldosterone concentration, decreased (more favorable) sFlt-1/PlGF ratio and unchanged markers of placental remodeling

    Zadatak ovog rada je provesti adsorpciju hesperidina iz kore i pulpe naranče na prehrambenom vlaknu - β-glukanu. Hesperidin će se ekstrahirati iz kore i pulpe naranče. Odrediti će se količina hesperidina u ekstraktima pulpe i kore naranče. Adsorpcija će se provesti sa različitim koncentracijama ekstrakta pulpe i kore naranče na β-glukanu. Primijeniti će se Langmuirov i Freundlichov model kako bi se opisao proces adsorpcije.The aim of this work was to carry out the adsorption of hesperidin from the orange peel and pulp on the dietary fiber - β-glucan. Hesperidin was extracted from the peel and orange pulp. The amount of hesperidin was determined in orange pulp and peel extracts. The adsorption was performed with different concentrations of orange pulp and peel extract and on β-glucan. Langmuir and Freundlich model were applied to describe the adsorption process
