This Conference Proceedings brings selection of papers presented at the Creative Future Insights 2021 – Creative Industries and Experience Economy Conference, held in Zagreb, 13-14 September 2021. Aim of the Conference was to create an incentive for contemporary interdisciplinary research that deals with different segments of creative industries, their features, recent trends and contributions to the society, culture and the economy. Our aim was also that the conference contributes to instigating and intensifying the public discourse on the role and impact of creative industries in motivating smart and sustainable development as well as their position in the framework of inspiring industrial and cultural policies. Namely, at the European Union policy level, creative and cultural industries have been recognised as one of the most dynamic economic sectors, which significantly contributes to cultural diversity, social and territorial cohesion, creative use of technologies and innovation development, creating a positive effect of “spilling over” into the rest of the economy and society in general. In the global context, creative industries have been recognized as one of the economic answers to the current issues of social inequality and environmental crisis

Structured in-depth interviews were conducted with the heads of the mentioned museums’ marketing and PR departments. This research aimed to find out how successful these museums utilize social networks to communicate through posts formats, user’s engagement and posts content. The results have shown that, even though the selected Museums are active on Facebook and Instagram, their posts engagement is low due to insufficient user management, low marketing budgets, but also the fact that the people running social media accounts do many other jobs as well

The mission of this thesis was to focus on the new media perception and its use in politics and the analysis of the communication of Joe Biden’s Twitter communication. Theoretical background research confirmed that the internet has served as an easy and relatively cheap medium to conduct political campaigns. With the introduction of the internet and social media, the way political branding was conducted changed. The research found that social media had been used as the main information source for more than 18% percent of U.S adults, surpassing the share of cable news and local news. It was affirmed that the effect it has on the perception of candidates makes it an essential tool for political branding. In this thesis, Joe Biden's Tweets were analyzed for their content, as well as engagement in the form of retweets, comments, and likes. The observed timeframe was one week, starting on January 4th and ending on January 10th. The analysis found that he uses four social media platforms, with a combined reach of 64.796.000 accounts: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook. His Twitter account had 35.5 million followers and a total of 8466 Tweets. The best-performing Tweets in the observed timeframe were around January 6th, the day of the Capitol Hill attack. The tone of the Tweets was encouraging, motivating, and optimistic.

Travel journalism represents one of the specialisation paths in journalism that journalists may choose if their primary interests are reporting and travel. This specialisation path is not highly represented in specialised media outlets in Croatia, which means that the public is not fully familiar with it. The theoretical section of the paper includes the explanations of key terms like specialisation, specialist journalists, the challenges encountered by journalists, and the comparison with travel bloggers and influencers who have nowadays taken on the major share of the travel journalism segment. After establishing the characteristics of the travel journalism specialisation, we implemented two research methods – a survey research and an in-depth interview. The aim of the final paper was to investigate and establish the position of the public and the position of the editors of web portals Putoholičari and Punkufer.hr, regarding travel journalism. The intention was to survey the public on the level of familiarity with the specialisation, the advantages and disadvantages that they see with regard to Croatia having specialised and educated journalists, and the in-depth interview with the editors primarily covered their position and viewpoint, as well as the continued development of the specialisation in Croatia in parallel with travel bloggers and influencers. The results have shown that the survey participants are not familiar with the specialisation in Croatia and that they do not know much about it, but they hold on to their positive attitude toward further development and advancement of travel journalism as one of the specialisations in journalism, which is aligned with the editors’ viewpoint
