    Efficiency of pre-bankruptcy settlement as a process of crisis management in civil engineering sector

    Predstečajna nagodba predstavlja model kriznog upravljanja osmišljen za stabilizaciju poslovanja poduzeća kroz restrukturiranje i refinanciranje, s ciljem vraćanja na tržište kao konkurentnih sudionika. Iako zamišljena kao privremena mjera za brzu konsolidaciju, praksa pokazuje da poduzeća, posebice u građevinskom sektoru, često provode višegodišnje razdoblje u tom procesu, što otvara pitanje njezine učinkovitosti. Glavni cilj ovog rada bio je istražiti predstečajnu nagodbu kao alat za krizno upravljanje u građevinskom sektoru. Istraživanje je provedeno kombinacijom teorijske analize i primarnih istraživačkih metoda. Teorijski dio obuhvatio je pregled kriznog upravljanja i zakonskog okvira predstečajne nagodbe, dok su u okviru primarnih istraživanja analizirane financijske performanse poduzeća te prikupljena mišljenja ključnih dionika putem kratkih intervjua. Takav pristup omogućio je detaljnu procjenu učinkovitosti to modela. Istraživanje je pokazalo da predstečajna nagodba često ne postiže željene rezultate. Glavni problemi proizlaze iz prekasne implementacije mjera te neodrživih i nedovoljno detaljnih planova restrukturiranja. Nadalje, analiza ukazuje da model u praksi ne ispunjava uvjete propisane stečajnim zakonom i ne osigurava dugoročnu stabilnost poduzeća. Osim toga, usporavanjem tijeka novca predstečajna nagodba opterećuje vjerovnike, osobito manja poduzeća, koja zbog toga gube konkurentnost i izlažu se riziku neodrživosti. Dobiveni uvidi sugeriraju potrebu za unapređenjem modela predstečajne nagodbe kako bi postao učinkovitijim alatom za upravljanje krizama u građevinskom sektoru. Ti zaključci ne samo da pružaju smjernice za razvoj održivijih rješenja već i potiču daljnja istraživanja usmjerena prema učinkovitim modelima kriznog upravljanja.Pre-bankruptcy settlement represents a crisis management model designed to stabilize business operations through restructuring and refinancing, aiming to return companies to the market as competitive players. Although intended as a temporary measure for rapid consolidation, practice shows that companies, particularly in the construction sector, often spend years in this process, raising questions about its effectiveness. The main objective of this paper was to examine pre-bankruptcy settlement as a tool for crisis management in the construction sector. The research combined theoretical analysis with primary research methods. The theoretical part included an overview of crisis management and the legal framework for prebankruptcy settlements, while the primary research analyzed companies’ financial performance and gathered opinions from key stakeholders through brief interviews. This approach enabled a detailed evaluation of the model’s effectiveness. The research revealed that pre-bankruptcy settlement often fails to achieve the desired outcomes. The primary issues stem from delayed implementation of measures and unsustainable and insufficiently detailed restructuring plans. Furthermore, the analysis indicates that the model does not meet the conditions stipulated by bankruptcy law in practice and does not ensure the long-term stability of companies. Additionally, by slowing down cash flow, pre-bankruptcy settlement burdens creditors, particularly smaller companies, which lose competitiveness and face sustainability risks as a result. The insights gained suggest a need to improve the pre-bankruptcy settlement model to make it a more effective tool for crisis management in the construction sector. These findings not only provide guidance for developing more sustainable solutions, but also encourage further research aimed at creating effective crisis management models

    The impact of effective information management and business digitalization: a case study of a car service company

    U modernom poslovnom okruženju, upravljanje informacijama i digitalizacija postaju ključni faktori za učinkovitost i konkurentnost poduzeća. U ovom radu istražen je utjecaj učinkovitog upravljanja informacijama i digitalizacije poslovne dokumentacije u tvrtki za servisiranje automobila, s posebnim naglaskom na tehnologiju optičkog prepoznavanja znakova (eng. Optical character recognition, OCR). Problem istraživanja usmjeren je na neučinkovitoupravljanje dokumentacijom, koje se temelji na ručnom unosu podataka i arhiviranju papirnatih dokumenata, što rezultira čestim pogreškama i visokim troškovima. Korištene metode istraživanja uključuju kvalitativnu analizu podataka prikupljenih putem strukturiranih intervjua s djelatnicima tvrtke, čime je dobiven uvid u njihove stavove prema digitalizaciji poslovanja. Na temelju dobivenih rezultata, preporučuje se postepena implementacija OCR tehnologije uz edukaciju zaposlenika i tehničku podršku kako bi se smanjile administrativne greške, povećala brzina obrade dokumenata i osigurala veća točnost podataka. Potrebno je dodatno istražiti prilagodbe OCR sustava specifičnim potrebama tvrtke za servisiranje automobila radi povećanja učinkovitosti i smanjenja operativnih troškova.In the modern business environment, information management and digitalization have become critical factors for the efficiency and competitiveness of companies. This paper explores the impact of effective information management and the digitalization of business documentation in a car service company, with a particular focus on Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology. The research problem centers on the inefficiency of documentation management, which relies on manual data entry and the archiving of paper documents, resulting in frequent errors and high costs. Research methods include qualitative data analysis collected through structured interviews with company employees, providing insights into their perspectives on business digitalization. Based on the findings a gradual implementation of OCR technology is recommended, along with employee training and technical support, to reduce administrative errors, increase document processing speed, and ensure greater data accuracy. Further research is needed to adapt OCR systems to the specific needs of the auto service company to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs

    Ovim završnim radom ispituje se i dokazuje važnost edukacija u razvoju kongresnog turizma u Hrvatskoj. Organizacija poslovnih događanja zahtjevan je zadatak sa širokim opsegom poslova. Poslovi vezani uz kongresni turizam zahtijevaju vrlo dobru organiziranost i profesionalnost, stoga je nužno dodatno stjecanje znanja i iskustva. Edukacija je bitan čimbenik u svim sferama razvoja i poslovanja koji potiče izvrsnost i kvalitetu. Cilj je ovog rada bio dokazati da su edukacije važan i neizostavan faktor za razvoj kongresnog turizma. U prvome dijelu rada pojašnjene su specifičnosti i obilježja kongresnog turizma, značaj kongresnog turizma u svijetu, trenutno stanje u Hrvatskoj te mogućnosti razvoja. Kako bi se ciljano utvrdilo jesu li edukacije važan čimbenik za daljni razvoj kongresnog turizma u Hrvatskoj, drugi dio rada razrađuje dvije provedene vrste istraživanja. Prvo istraživanje izvedeno je metodom anketiranja polaznika stručnih edukacijskih programa ciljano vezanih za organizaciju kongresa / MICE industriju, čime je dokazano da su edukacije opravdale svoju svrhu. Drugo je istraživanje provedeno intervjuiranjem odgovornih i stručnih osoba na višem nivou. Težište je usmjereno na pitanja o važnosti edukacija za izvrsnost, poslovanje i razvoj ovih subjekata. U radu su obuhvaćene aktivnosti HUPKT (Hrvatska udruga profesionalaca kongresnog turizma) koja se bavi i pružanjem edukativnih programa za MICE industriju. Navedena je važnost MICE industrije kao karike turističkog lanca koju je nužno dalje razvijati, a također su navedeni prijedlozi poboljšanja. Rezultati istraživanja ukazali su na veliko DA za edukacije.This final thesis examines and proves the importance of education in the development of congress tourism in Croatia. Organizing business events is a demanding task with a wide range of tasks. Jobs related to congress tourism require very good organization and professionalism, so it is necessary to acquire additional knowledge and experience. Education is an important factor in all spheres of development and business that encourages excellence and quality. The aim of this thesis was to prove that education is an important and indispensable factor for the development of congress tourism. In the first part of the thesis, the specifics and characteristics of congress tourism, the importance of congress tourism in the world, the current situation in Croatia, and development opportunities are explained. In order to determine in a targeted manner whether education is an important factor for the further development of congress tourism in Croatia, the second part of the thesis elaborates two types of conducted research. The first research was carried out using the method of surveying participants of professional educational programs specifically related to the organization of congresses / MICE industry, which proved that the education justified its purpose. The second research was conducted by interviewing responsible and professional persons at a higher level. The focus is on questions about the importance of education for excellence, business and development of these subjects. The thesis covers the activities of the HUPKT (Croatian Association of Congress Tourism Professionals), which also provides educational programs for the MICE industry. The importance of the MICE industry as a link in the tourism chain that needs to be further developed is stated, and suggestions for improvement are also stated.     Društveni mediji postali su ključne platforme za informiranje, zabavu i donošenje odluka o kupnji. Glavni cilj ovog diplomskog rada bio je ispitati na koji način pripadnice generacije Z koriste društvene mreže za informiranje o proizvodima i uslugama te analizirati njihove potrošačke navike. Generacija Z danas se smatra nositeljem digitalnih trendova, s naglaskom na korištenje društvenih mreža kao važnog alata u svakodnevnom životu. Istraživanje je provedeno pomoću anketnog upitnika na odabranom uzorku. Prvi dio istraživanja imao je cilj ispitati digitalne medijske navike pripadnica generacije Z i utvrditi koje platforme najčešće koriste. Drugi dio istraživanja fokusirao se na analizu njihovih potrošačkih navika putem društvenih mreža. Rezultati istraživanja pokazali su da pripadnice generacije Z intenzivno koriste društvene mreže za praćenje trendova, pronalaženje preporuka i donošenje odluka o kupnji. Također, značajan utjecaj imaju digitalni influenceri, čije preporuke mladi smatraju vjerodostojnima. Osim toga, društvene mreže omogućuju interakciju s robnim markama, što dodatno oblikuje njihove potrošačke navike. Zaključno, može se reći da društvene mreže igraju važnu ulogu u informiranju i donošenju odluka o kupnji kod pripadnica generacije Z.Social media have become important platforms for information, entertainment and purchasing decisions. The main objective of this thesis was to investigate how Generation Z women use social media to inform themselves about products and services and to analyze their consumption habits. Generation Z is considered to be the driving force behind today's digital trends, with a strong focus on the use of social media as an integral tool in their daily lives. The research was conducted using a questionnaire on a selected sample. The aim of the first part of the study was to investigate the digital media habits of Generation Z women and which platforms they use most frequently. The second part of the study focused on analyzing their social media consumption habits. The results of the study show that Generation Z women actively use social media to follow trends, find recommendations and make purchasing decisions. Digital influencers also have a great influence, as their recommendations are perceived as credible by young people. In addition, social media enables interaction with brands, which further shapes their consumption habits. To summarize, social media plays a crucial role in the information and purchasing decisions of Generation Z women

    Music-stage performance as an added value in hotels

    Danas su usluge animacije i zabave postale sastavni dio i igraju važnu ulogu kao posebna funkcija u hotelskoj industriji. Tome je tako radi stalno rastućih zahtjeva hotelske klijentele za boljom uslugom i integriranim iskustvom odmora u odmaralištima. Animacijske usluge tako obuhvaćaju svaku aktivnost koja nudi kretanje, radost, razonodu i spektakl, poput sportova, predstava, događaja i sl, Animacijske usluge, odnosno programi, jedan su od načina širenja turističkih usluga kroz mnoge zabavne aktivnosti, čineći tako boravak turista bogatijim i zanimljivijim i povezujući ih s kulturnom i prirodnom baštinom destinacije. Primjerice, u hotelima se organiziraju razni glazbeno-scenski nastupi, a koji mogu biti glavni motiv posjeta gostiju ili mogu postojećim gostima stvoriti svojevrstan doživljaj kako bi im boravak učinili ugodnijim i povećali potrošnju. Shodno tome, svrha ovog rada bila je prikazati važnost glazbeno-scenskog nastupa kao animacije u turističkoj usluzi. Što se ciljeva tiče, glavni cilj rada bio je analizirati glazbeno-scenske nastupe u svrhu promicanja turističke ponude hrvatskih hotela te kako bi se ostvario taj cilj, provedeno je istraživanje anketnim upitnikom, u kojem je sudjelovalo 148 ispitanika. Istraživanjem su se saznala iskustva ispitanika vezana uz glazbeno-scenske nastupe u hotelima Republike Hrvatske te se spoznala popularnost glazbeno-scenskih nastupa u hotelima RH. Istraživanje je pokazalo kako glazbeno-scenski nastupi u hrvatskim hotelima nisu u velikoj mjeri zastupljeni, a kao najpopularniji oblik javljaju se glazbeni koncerti. Također, s obzirom na još uvijek nedovoljan broj istih u hotelima Republike Hrvatske, predlaže im se postupno implementiranje takvog oblika animacije u program svog poslovanja.Today, animation and entertainment services have become an integral part and play an important role as a special function in the hotel industry. This is due to the ever-growing demands of the hotel clientele for better service and an integrated holiday experience in resorts. Animation services thus include any activity that offers movement, joy, entertainment and spectacle, such as sports, shows, events, etc. more interesting and connecting them with the cultural and natural heritage of the destination. For example, hotels organize various music and stage performances, which can be the main motive for visiting guests or can create a unique experience for existing guests to make their stay more pleasant and increase consumption. Accordingly, the purpose of this paper was to show the importance of music and stage performance as animation in the tourist service. Regarding the goals, the main goal of the paper was to analyze music and stage performances in order to promote the tourist offer of Croatian hotels and in order to achieve this goal, a survey was conducted with a questionnaire, in which 148 respondents participated. The research found out the experiences of the respondents related to music and stage performances in hotels in the Republic of Croatia and the popularity of music and stage performances in hotels in the Republic of Croatia. The research showed that music and stage performances in Croatian hotels are not widely represented, and music concerts are the most popular form. Also, given the still insufficient number of them in hotels in the Republic of Croatia, it is proposed that they gradually implement such a form of animation in the program of their business

    Ovaj završni rad fokusira se na digitalizaciju i upravljanje resursima u poslovnom okruženju. U uvodu se istražuje važnost ove teme u suvremenom poslovanju. Prikazane su ključne komponente digitalizacije, uključujući ulogu aplikacija za praćenje i nadzor poslovnih procesa te upravljanje informatičkom opremom. Sustavno upravljanje opremom obuhvaća označavanje, prioritetizaciju, implementaciju sustava za praćenje, korištenje softvera za upravljanje te redovno održavanje opreme uz prikupljanje i analizu podataka. U nastavku, prikazana su odabrana rješenja koja se razmatraju za implementaciju, uključujući Endpoint Central, Atera i Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager. Nakon analize, donesena je odluka o implementaciji Endpoint Central sustava. U zaključku, istaknuta je važnost pravilnog upravljanja resursima putem digitalizacije u suvremenom poslovnom okruženju, ističući postignute koristi kroz implementaciju Endpoint Central sustava.The final thesis focuses on digitization and resource management in the business environment. The introduction explores the importance of this topic in modern business practices. Key components of digitization are presented, including the role of applications for monitoring and supervising business processes, as well as managing IT equipment. Systematic equipment management encompasses labeling, prioritization, implementation of tracking systems, utilization of management software, and regular maintenance of equipment, along with data collection and analysis. Subsequently, selected solutions for implementation are presented, including Endpoint Central, Atera,and Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager. Following the analysis, a decision was made to implement the Endpoint Central system. In conclusion, the importance of proper resource management through digitization in the contemporary business environment is emphasized, highlighting the benefits achieved through the implementation of the Endpoint Central system

    The effect of collaboration tools on employees' readiness for cooperation and knowledge sharing in organizations

    Ovaj rad istražuje važnost alata za suradnju u poticanju suradnje i dijeljenja znanja među zaposlenicima unutar organizacije. Svrha ovog istraživanja jest analizirati najčešće korištene alate za suradnju, ispitati njihov utjecaj na spremnost zaposlenika na suradnju te utvrditi kako zaposlenici percipiraju učinkovitost tih alata. Istraživanje je provedeno putem ankete kreirane na platformi Google Forms, a prikupljanje podataka ostvareno je putem grupa na društvenoj mreži Facebook, poput „Anketalice“, koja je okupljala različite sudionike spremne sudjelovati u anketi, zatim putem elektroničke pošte te putem internih komunikacijskih kanala, a sudjelovanje je bilo dobrovoljno. Ukupno je sudjelovalo 123 ispitanika. Istraživanja temeljena na anketama zaposlenika pokazuju da su komunikacijske platforme, softver za upravljanje projektima i alati za dijeljenje dokumenata ključni za promicanje timskog rada i razmjenu informacija. Rezultati su također ukazali na neke od izazova s kojima se zaposlenici susreću pri korištenju ovih alata, uključujući tehničke poteškoće i nedovoljnu organizacijsku podršku. Ipak, zaposlenici su izrazili spremnost za daljnje korištenje i unapređenje platformi.This paper explores the importance of collaboration tools in fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing among employees within an organization. The purpose of this research is to analyze the most used collaboration tools, examine their impact on employees' willingness to collaborate, and determine how employees perceive the effectiveness of these tools. The research was conducted using a survey created on the Google Forms platform, and data collection was achieved through groups on the social network Facebook, such as "Anketalica", which gathered different participants willing to participate in the survey, then via email and through internal communication channels, and participation was voluntary. A total of 123 respondents participated. Research based on employee surveys shows that communication platforms, project management software, and document sharing tools are key to promoting teamwork and information exchange. The results also pointed to some of the challenges employees face when using these tools, including technical difficulties and insufficient organizational support. However, employees expressed their willingness to continue using and improving the platforms

    Ovaj diplomski rad istražuje mogućnosti prilagođavanja marketinških strategija u turizmu očekivanjima i potrebama generacije Z, s posebnim naglaskom na izazove prekomjernog turizma i nužnost prijelaza na održive turističke prakse. Zbog svoje tehnološke povezanosti, ekološke osviještenosti i visoke razine medijske pismenosti, pripadnici ove generacije značajno se razlikuju od prethodnih generacija u svojim preferencijama i stavovima prema turizmu. Rad analizira izazove koje ova generacija postavlja pred turističke destinacije i tvrtke, naglašavajući važnost prilagodbe marketinških strategija novim potrošačkim navikama i vrijednostima, uključujući zahtjev za smanjenjem negativnih učinaka prekomjernog turizma i implementacijom održivih praksi. U usporedbi s prethodnim generacijama, generacija Z pokazuje veću osjetljivost prema etici, održivosti i društvenoj odgovornosti, što ima značajan utjecaj na oblikovanje budućih marketinških pristupa u turizmu. Na temelju tih saznanja, u radu se daju preporuke turističkim tvrtkama i destinacijama u pogledu razvoja strategija koje će im omogućiti privlačenje i zadržavanje pripadnika generacije Z kroz autentične i održive marketinške prakse.This thesis explores the opportunities for aligning marketing strategies in tourism with the expectations and needs of Generation Z, with a particular focus on the challenges of overtourism and the need to transition to sustainable tourism practices. Due to their technological connectivity, ecological awareness, and high level of media literacy, membersof this generation significantly differ from previous generations in their preferences and attitudes towards tourism. The thesis analyzes the challenges that this generation presents to tourist destinations and companies, emphasizing the importance of adapting marketing strategies to new consumer habits and values, including the demand to reduce the negative impacts of overtourism and implement sustainable practices. Compared to previous generations, Generation Z shows a greater sensitivity to ethics, sustainability, and social responsibility, which has a significant impact on shaping future marketing approaches in tourism. Based on these findings, the thesis provides recommendations for tourism companies and destinations on developing strategies that will attract and retain members of Generation Z through authentic and sustainable marketing practices

    The application of synthetic financial indicators for assessing the financial stability and performance of Croatian pharmaceutical companies

    Tema ovog stručnog diplomskog rada je primjena sintetičkih financijskih pokazatelja za ocjenu financijske stabilnosti i uspješnosti hrvatskih farmaceutskih poduzeća. Autor rada je odabrao ovu temu radi uvida u financijske rezultate poslovanja hrvatskih farmaceutskih poduzeća tijekom razdoblja od 2019. do 2023. godine koje je bilo obilježeno pandemijom, rastom troškova sirovina i transporta, kao i ograničenjima cijena lijekova na recept. Analiza je provedena na uzorku tri velika poduzeća koja se bave proizvodnjom farmaceutskih proizvoda i pripravaka, a to su Belupo d.d., Jadrangalenski laboratorij d.d. i Pliva Hrvatska d.o.o. Cilj rada je bio analizirati temeljne financijske izvještaje odabranih farmaceutskih poduzeća korištenjem sintetičkih financijskih pokazatelja da bi se ocijenila njihova financijska stabilnost i u promatranom petogodišnjem razdoblju.The topic of this professional thesis is The Application of Synthetic Financial Indicators for Assessing the Financial Stability and Performance of Croatian Pharmaceutical Companies. The author chose this topic to gain insight into the financial performance of Croatian pharmaceutical companies during the period from 2019 to 2023, marked by the pandemic, rising costs of raw materials and transportation, as well as prescription drug price restrictions The analysis was conducted on a sample of three major companies engaged in the production of pharmaceutical products and preparations: Belupo d.d., Jadran-galenski laboratorij d.d., and Pliva Hrvatska d.o.o. The aim of the thesis was to analyze the fundamental financial statements of the selected pharmaceutical companies using synthetic financial indicators to assess their financial stability and performance during the observed five-year period
