Percieved image of the town of Pula as a tourism destination – differences in the perception of domestic tourists of generations y and z
Pula je grad poznat po svojoj bogatoj povijesti i kulturnoj baštini. Najpoznatiji spomenik je rimski amfiteatar, jedan od najbolje očuvanih antičkih spomenika, koji svake godine privlači tisuće posjetitelja iz različitih dijelova svijeta. Osim povijesnih znamenitosti, posjetitelje u Pulu privlače i lokalna hrana, raznovrsna događanja te kvalitetna ugostiteljska ponuda.
Tijekom svakog posjeta turističkoj destinaciji, posjetitelji stvaraju ili mijenjaju svoje mišljenje o tom mjestu, ovisno o iskustvu i doživljajima. Zbog toga, svaka destinacija ima svoj imidž koji može pozitivno ili negativno utjecati na njezin daljnji razvoj. Percipirani imidž subjektivna je slika koju turist stvara prema određenoj destinaciji, temeljena na kognitivnim i afektivnim komponentama.
S obzirom na navedeno, svrha ovog rada bila je istražiti percepciju turističke destinacije Pula kod domaćih turista i utvrditi razlike između generacija Y i Z. Ključni rezultati istraživanja pokazali su da Pula ima pozitivan imidž kod domaćih turista te da, iako postoje određeni propusti u turističkoj ponudi, svi ispitanici izrazili su želju za ponovnim posjetom destinacije u budućnosti.Pula is a town known for its rich history and cultural heritage. The most famous monument is the Roman Amphitheater, one of the best-preserved ancient monuments, which attracts thousands of visitors from around the world every year. Aside from historical monuments, visitors are drawn to Pula by its local cuisine, a range of events, and the high quality of its accommodation and restaurant services.
During every visit to a tourist destination, the visitors form or change their opinion of the destination, depending on the experience and knowledge acquired. Due to this, every destination has its image, which can positively or negatively affect its further development. The perceived image is a subjective opinion that the tourist forms of a specific destination, based on cognitive and affective components.
Considering the aforementioned, the purpose of this thesis was to explore how local visitors from Generations Y and Z perceive Pula as a tourist destination, and to determine differences. Results of the research have shown that Pula is positively perceived by local tourists, and that, even though there are certain gaps in the touristic offer, all participants have expressed the wish to visit the destination in the future
The Impact of Interest Rates on Investments in Residential Real Estate in the Republic of Croatia
Cilj ovog diplomskog rada je analizirati utjecaj kamatnih stopa na ulaganja u stambene nekretnine u Republici Hrvatskoj. U analizi su korištene deskriptivne i empirijske metode, uz primjenu regresijske i korelacijske analize za kvantificiranje odnosa između promjene kamatnih stopa i intenziteta investicija. Istraživanje se temelji na vremenskim nizovima podataka o investicijama u stambenu izgradnju i kamatnim stopama kreditnih institucija, preuzetim iz relevantnih izvora kao što su Hrvatska narodna banka (HNB), Državni zavod za statistiku (DZS), Eurostat i Europska središnja banka (ECB).
Dobiveni rezultati pokazuju snažnu negativnu povezanost između rasta kamatnih stopa i razine ulaganja u stambene nekretnine. Povećanje kamatnih stopa generalno prati pad investicija.
Na temelju ovih nalaza preporuča se da monetarna i regulatorna politika uzmu u obzir specifičnosti tržišta stambenih nekretnina. U budućim istraživanjima trebalo bi provesti dublju segmentaciju tržišta, analizirati utjecaj demografskih i fiskalnih faktora te pratiti visokofrekventna kretanja kamatnih stopa i kreditnih uvjeta. Takve analize omogućile bi preciznije formuliranje mjera koje bi ublažile negativne posljedice visokih kamatnih stopa na investicije u stambeni sektor.The aim of this thesis is to analyze the impact of interest rates on investments in residential real estate in Croatia. The research employs both descriptive and empirical methods, utilizing regression and correlation analysis to quantify the relationship between changes in interest rates and investment levels. The study is based on time series data for housing investment and interest rates, obtained from reliable sources such as the Croatian National Bank (HNB), the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS), Eurostat, and the European Central Bank (ECB).
The results reveal a strong negative correlation between rising interest rates and residential investment levels. Increases in interest rates have generally been followed by declines in housing investments.
Based on these findings, it is recommended that monetary and regulatory policy take into account the specific characteristics of the housing market. Future research should include deeper market segmentation, assessment of demographic and fiscal factors, and monitoring of high-frequency movements in interest rates and lending conditions. Such analyses would support more precise policy measures to mitigate the adverse effects of high interest rates on investment in the housing sector
Key factors in the implementation of the European Union strategic plan Fit for 55
Ovaj rad analizira ključne čimbenike implementacije strateškog plana na primjeru europskog paketa Fit for 55, s posebnim naglaskom na utjecaj i izazove implementacije u Republici Hrvatskoj. U uvodnom dijelu izloženi su predmet, ciljevi i metodologija istraživanja. Teorijski okvir rada obuhvaća definiciju strategije i strateškog plana te definicije misije i vizije organizacije. Posebna pažnja posvećena je fazi provedbe strateškog plana, koja se u literaturi prepoznaje kao najzahtjevnija zbog složenosti upravljanja resursima, komunikacije i prilagodbe promjenama u okruženju. U empirijskom dijelu rada provedena je studija slučaja koja kombinira analizu javno dostupnih podataka Europske unije i rezultate polustrukturiranog intervjua s menadžerom energetskog poduzeća, kako bi se identificirali specifični izazovi i prilike za hrvatski energetski sektor u kontekstu Fit for 55. Zaključak rada sažima glavne nalaze, ističe važnost integriranog pristupa i prilagodljivosti u provedbi klimatskih politika te predlaže smjernice za budući razvoj i istraživanja u ovom područjuThis paper analyzes the key factors of strategic plan implementation using the example of the European Fit for 55 package, with a special emphasis on the impact and challenges of implementation in the Republic of Croatia. The introductory part presents the subject, objectives and methodology of the research. The theoretical framework of the paper includes the definition of strategy and strategic plan, and the definition of the mission and vision of the organization. Special attention is paid to the phase of strategic plan implementation, which is recognized in the literature as the most demanding due to the complexity of resource management, communication and adaptation to changes in the environment. In the empirical part of the paper, a case study was conducted that combines the analysis of publicly available European Union data and the results of a semi-structured interview with an energy company manager, in order to identify specific challenges and opportunities for the Croatian energy sector in the context of Fit for 55. The conclusion of the paper summarizes the main findings, emphasizes the importance of an integrated approach and adaptability in the implementation of climate policies, and suggests guidelines for future development and research in this area

Završni rad govori o računovodstvenom ciklusu kao važnom procesu i financijskom upravljanju i transparentnom izvještavanju. Ciklus se sastoji od niza koraka koji se provode u specifičnom redoslijedu tijekom određenog razdoblja, najčešće jednog financijskog. Kroz jasno definirane faze, od inicijalnog evidentiranja poslovnih transakcija do sastavljanja financijskih izvještaja, računovodstveni ciklus osigurava pouzdanost informacija koje su nužne za donošenje strateških poslovnih odluka.The final paper discusses the accounting cycle as an important process for both financial management and transparent reporting. The cycle consists of a series of steps that are carried out in a specific order over a certain period, most often a financial one. Through clearly defined phases, from the initial recording of business transactions to the preparation of financial statements, the accounting cycle ensures the reliability of information that is necessary for making strategic business decisions
The impact of digital technologies on business model innovations
Ovaj diplomski rad istražuje ulogu digitalnih tehnologija u transformaciji suvremenog poslovanja, s posebnim naglaskom na inovacije poslovnih modela. Digitalne tehnologije temelj su suvremenog poslovanja, oblikujući tradicionalne i statične poslovne modele u dinamične sustave koji se kontinuirano prilagođavaju današnjim nepredvidivim tržišnim okolnostima. Cilj je ovog diplomskog rada konceptualno definirati digitalne tehnologije i inovacije poslovnih modela te analizirati njihovu međuovisnost, uz studiju slučaja poduzeća FlixBus kao empirijskog primjera uspješne inovacije poslovnog modela. Istraživanje se temelji na sekundarnim izvorima i metodama analize, sinteze, indukcije, dedukcije te studije slučaja. Poseban se naglasak stavlja na tehnologije poput velikih podataka, interneta stvari, umjetne inteligencije i računalstva u oblaku koje omogućuju optimizaciju procesa, stvaranje nove vrijednosti, a sve većim razvojem postaju dostupnije i manjim poduzećima. Inovacija poslovnog modela definira se kao značajna promjena postojećeg modela koja na inovativan način stvara konkurentsku prednost koja se teško imitira, a to potvrđuju poznati primjeri poput Netflixa, Ubera, Applea, Amazona i drugih. Analiza FlixBusa pokazuje da njegov poslovni model bez vlasništva nad voznim parkom, potpomognut naprednim digitalnim rješenjima, generira ogromnu vrijednost kroz učinkovitu prodaju karata, komunikaciju s putnicima i suradnju s prijevoznicima. Rad također problematizira etičke, pravne i društvene implikacije digitalne transformacije i ističe da poduzeća koja ne integriraju tehnologije riskiraju gubitak konkurentnosti. Ograničenja rada proizlaze iz složenosti kvantifikacije učinaka tehnologija, zbog čega se preporučuje razvoj integriranih teorijskih okvira i longitudinalnih studija koje bi omogućile preciznije praćenje razvoja poslovnih modela u digitalnom svijetu.This paper explores the role of digital technologies in the transformation of contemporary business, with a particular emphasis on business model innovation. Digital technologies are the foundation of modern business, shaping traditional and static business models into dynamic systems that continuously adapt to today’s unpredictable market conditions. The aim of this thesis is to conceptually define digital technologies and business model innovation, and to analyze their interdependence, using the case study of FlixBus as an empirical example of successful business model innovation. The research is based on secondary sources and methods of analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, and case study. Special emphasis is placed on technologies such as big data, the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing, which enable process optimization and the creation of new value, and, with increasing development, are becoming more accessible to smaller enterprises. Business model innovation is defined as a significant change to the existing model that creates a competitive advantage in an innovative way, which is difficult to imitate, as demonstrated by well-known examples such as Netflix, Uber, Apple, Amazon, and others. The analysis of FlixBus shows that its business model, which does not involve ownership of the vehicle fleet and is supported by advanced digital solutions, generates enormous value through efficient ticket sales, communication with passengers, and collaboration with carriers. The paper also addresses the ethical, legal, and social implications of digital transformation, and highlights that companies that do not integrate technologies risk losing competitiveness. The limitations of the paper arise from the complexity of quantifying the effects of technologies, which is why the development of integrated theoretical frameworks and longitudinal studies is recommended, as these would enable more precise monitoring of business model development in the digital world
Improving the economic development of Hungary by applying strategies of sustainable exploitation of natural resources
Rad je strukturiran u nekoliko ključnih poglavlja koja sustavno obrađuju različite aspekte upravljanja prirodnim resursima: Uvodni dio sadrži cilj i svrhu istraživanja, strukturu rada i znanstvene metode korištene u istraživanju. Drugo poglavlje analizira značaj eksploatacije prirodnih resursa za ekonomski razvoj, načine unapređenja ekonomske stabilnosti kroz efikasnu eksploataciju resursa, te strategije Europske unije za gospodarenje prirodnim resursima. Treće je poglavlje naslovljeno „Prirodni resursi Mađarske“, a u ovom se dijelu razmatra geografsko-ekonomski profil Mađarske, geomorfološki resursi zemlje, poljoprivredne površine i kvaliteta tla, energetski resursi, termalne vode i geotermalna energija, te mineralni resursi. Četvrto poglavlje, „Očuvanje prirodnih resursa mađarske u funkciji unapređenja ekonomskog razvoj a“, obrađuje ekološki aspekti eksploatacije, strategije održivog gospodarenja prirodnim resursima, implementacija održivih praksi u gospodarskim sektorima, podizanje svijesti o značaju očuvanja prirode i perspektive unapređenja ekonomske situacije kroz eksploataciju prirodnih resursa. Zaključni dio sažima glavne nalaze istraživanja i nudi preporuke za buduće politike i prakse u upravljanju prirodnim resursima.The thesis is structured into several key chapters that systematically address various aspects of natural resource management. The introductory section outlines the aim and purpose of the research, the structure of the thesis, and the scientific methods applied. The second chapter analyzes the importance of natural resource exploitation for economic development, methods of enhancing economic stability through efficient resource use, and the European Union’s strategies for natural resource management. The third chapter, titled “Natural Resources of Hungary,” examines Hungary’s geographical and economic profile, the country’s geomorphological resources, agricultural land and soil quality, energy resources, thermal waters and geothermal energy, as well as mineral resources. The fourth chapter, “Preservation of Hungary’s Natu ral Resources as a Means of Enhancing Economic Development,” addresses the ecological aspects of exploitation, strategies for sustainable resource management, the implementation of sustainable practices in economic sectors, raising awareness about the importance of nature preservation, and the prospects for improving the economic situation through resource exploitation. The final section summarizes the main findings of the research and offers recommendations for future policies and practices in natural resource management
Enhancement of Autonomous Vehicles Through Knowledge Discovery from Sensor Data
Ovaj rad istražuje mogućnosti unaprjeđenja autonomnih vozila primjenom višesenzorske fuzije i otkrivanja znanja iz senzorskih podataka. Cilj istraživanja je analizirati kako integracija podataka iz različitih senzora (LiDAR, radar, kamere) doprinosi točnijem mapiranju okoline, sigurnijem upravljanju i većoj efikasnosti autonomnih sustava. Rad se temelji na komparativnoj analizi dviju znanstvenih studija koje prikazuju primjenu višesenzorskih sustava i dinamičkog mapiranja u stvarnim uvjetima. Rezultati pokazuju da korištenje višestrukih senzora značajno poboljšava percepciju okoline, točnost navigacije i reakcije vozila u realnom vremenu. Rad također razmatra društvene, regulatorne i ekonomske prepreke šire primjene autonomnih vozila. Poseban naglasak stavljen je na izazove povezane s infrastrukturom, sigurnošću, zakonodavstvom te tržištem rada. Analiza troškova i koristi ukazuje da, unatoč visokim početnim troškovima, dugoročne koristi u području sigurnosti, mobilnosti i održivosti mogu nadmašiti prepreke. Zaključno, višesenzorsko mapiranje u kombinaciji s umjetnom inteligencijom predstavlja temelj daljnjeg razvoja autonomnih vozila i njihovog uključivanja u prometne sustave budućnosti.This thesis explores the potential for enhancing autonomous vehicles through multi-sensor fusion and knowledge discovery from sensor data. The aim of the research is to analyze how the integration of data from various sensors (LiDAR, radar, cameras) contributes to more accurate environmental mapping, safer vehicle control, and improved efficiency of autonomous systems. The study is based on a comparative analysis of two scientific studies demonstrating the application of multi-sensor systems and dynamic mapping in real-world conditions. The results show that the use of multiple sensors significantly improves environmental perception, navigation accuracy, and real-time vehicle response. The paper also addresses social, regulatory, and economic barriers to the broader adoption of autonomous vehicles. Particular attention is given to challenges related to infrastructure, safety, legislation, and labor market implications. A cost-benefit analysis indicates that, despite high initial costs, the long-term benefits in safety, mobility, and sustainability can outweigh the obstacles. In conclusion, multi-sensor mapping combined with artificial intelligence represents a foundation for the further development of autonomous vehicles and their integration into the transportation systems of the future
The Role of Digital Technology in Enhancing Employee Efficiency and Effectiveness in the Hotel Industry
This research examines the role of digital technologies in enhancing employee efficiency and effectiveness in the hotel industry. Through qualitative interviews with five participants in the leadership positions of Montenegrin hotels: general managers, executive directors, a PR manager, and a hotel owner. The study investigates how hotels employ digital technologies and the influence on employee performance. The theoretical framework consists of Socio-Technical Systems Theory, Resource-Based View, Dynamic Capabilities Theory, and Knowledge-Based Theory in order to explain the relationship of technology and human factors in hotel operations. Successful digital transformation requires the equilibrium of technological advances and human capabilities, as well as varied approaches to implementation between franchise and independent hotels. Digital technologies make a substantial difference in operation performance through automation and real-time monitoring, as well as enhance service quality through personalized guest interactions and data-driven improvements. Key challenges include varying digital literacy levels, initial resistance to change, and language barriers. The research highlights the importance of leadership participation in implementing the technology and providing clear communication of benefits as well as tailored training approaches in successful technology implementation. These insights provide a framework for developing integrated technology strategies that enhance both operational performance and guest experience in the hotel industry

The importance of sustainable production in the selection of luxury products
Luksuzni proizvodi predstavljaju vrhunac potrošačke kulture, odražavajući uspjeh, društveni status i osobni identitet kroz povezanost s određenom markom. U svijetu luksuza, vrhunski ručni satovi posebno se ističu kao remek-djela inženjerstva i umjetnosti, simbolizirajući prestiž i profinjen ukus. Međutim, u eri rastućeg konzumerizma i ekološke osviještenosti, održiva proizvodnja postaje ključan čimbenik pri odabiru luksuznih proizvoda, osobito satova. Iako se koncept održivosti u luksuznoj industriji može činiti paradoksalnim, upravo ta transformacija čini industriju još značajnijom. Prestižne marke satova prepoznaju svoju odgovornost prema održivijoj budućnosti, implementirajući energetski učinkovite proizvodne procese, recikliranje materijala i inicijative za očuvanje resursa. Ove promjene ne samo da smanjuju ekološki otisak, već često rezultiraju i poslovnim uspjehom. Suvremeni potrošači, posebice mlađe generacije, traže proizvode koji odražavaju njihove vrijednosti i pozitivno doprinose svijetu. Luksuzni sat izrađen održivim metodama nosi priču o odgovornosti i vizionarstvu, dodajući novu dimenziju vrijednosti. Zato održivi marketing u ovom kontekstu igra ključnu ulogu, preoblikujući definiciju luksuza i povezujući marke s ekološki osviještenim potrošačima. Ovaj pristup ne samo da jača imidž marke, već stvara i dublju emocionalnu vezu s kupcima, potvrđujući da luksuz i održivost mogu skladno koegzistirati. Cilj rada je analizirati koliku važnost potrošači pridaju održivoj proizvodnji prilikom odabira luksuznih satova, odnosno kako percipiraju korištenje recikliranih i ekološki prihvatljivih materijala, smanjenje emisije štetnih plinova te iskorištavanje obnovljivih izvora energije u njihovoj izradi te u kojoj mjeri održive prakse oblikuju njihov dojam o marki i odluku o kupnji. Anketno istraživanje provedeno je u periodu od 12. svibnja do 21. svibnja 2025, na uzorku od 123 ispitanika. U kontekstu održive proizvodnje u industriji satova uzeti će se marke poput IWC-a, Paneraia i ID Genève pomoću kojih će se jasno vizualizirati održive prakse.Luxury products represent the pinnacle of consumer culture, reflecting success, social status, and personal identity through association with a particular brand. In the world of luxury, high-end wristwatches particularly stand out as masterpieces of engineering and art, symbolizing prestige and refined taste. However, in an era of growing consumerism and environmental awareness, sustainable production is becoming a key factor in choosing luxury products, especially watches. Although the concept of sustainability in the luxury industry may seem paradoxical, it is precisely this transformation that makes the industry even more significant. Prestigious watch brands recognize their responsibility towards a more sustainable future, implementing energy-efficient production processes, material recycling, and resource conservation initiatives. These changes not only reduce the ecological footprint but often result in business success as well. Contemporary consumers, particularly younger generations, seek products that reflect their values and positively contribute to the world. A luxury watch made using sustainable methods carries a story of responsibility and vision, adding a new dimension of value. Therefore, sustainable marketing plays a crucial role in this context, reshaping the definition of luxury and connecting brands with environmentally conscious consumers. This approach not only strengthens brand image but also creates a deeper emotional connection with customers, confirming that luxury and sustainability can harmoniously coexist. The aim of this study is to analyze the importance consumers place on sustainable production when choosing luxury watches, specifically how they perceive the use of recycled and environmentally friendly materials, the reduction of harmful emissions, and the utilization of renewable energy sources in their production, as well as to what extent sustainable practices shape their brand perception and purchase decisions. The survey research was conducted from May 12 to May 21, 2025, on a sample of 123 respondents.
