Proposal for a Documentation System of Wooden Polychrome Sculpture on the Example of the Icon The "Great Feasts"
Ovaj se diplomski rad bavi konzervatorsko-restauratorskom dokumentacijom s naglaskom na pisanom i grafičkom dijelu dokumentiranja. Izrada dokumentacije obavezni je dio konzervatorsko-restauratorske prakse, no zbog raznolikosti objekata i restauratorskih zahvata, unatoč pokušajima standardizacije, ne postoji jedinstven pristup dokumentiranju. U radu je predstavljen povijesni pregled dokumentiranja umjetnina i konzervatorskorestauratorskih zahvata, kao i pregled suvremenih sustava koji se koriste danas. Analizom postojećih sustava dokumentiranja u različitim zemljama i institucijama identificirane su ključne komponente koje sustave čine učinkovitima. Na temelju prednosti tih sustava, predložen je novi sustav za dokumentiranje drvenih polikromiranih skulptura. Uz to, predstavljena je i digitalna verzija sustava, koja omogućava dodatne prednosti u dokumentiranju. Rad se također bavi razvojem sustava grafičkih oznaka za bilježenje oštećenja i intervencija na drvenim polikromiranim skulpturama, kako bi se postigla ujednačenosti i u vizualnoj prezentaciji podataka. Praktična primjena predloženog sustava dokumentiranja i grafičkih oznaka ispitana je na primjeru ikone „Veliki Praznici“, gdje je demonstrirana njegova učinkovitost u stvarnim uvjetima rada. Dokumentirani su opći podatci o umjetnini, zatečeno stanje te analize i probe rađene na umjetnini, uz izradu grafičkih prikaza koristeći predloženi sustav grafičkih oznaka.This thesis focuses on conservation-restoration documentation, with an emphasis on both the written and graphic components of documentation. Documentation is a mandatory part of conservation-restoration practice, but due to the diversity of objects and restoration interventions, a standardized approach to documentation has not yet been fully established, despite past efforts. The thesis presents a historical overview of the documentation of artworks and conservationrestoration interventions, as well as a review of the contemporary systems in use today. By analyzing existing documentation systems used in different countries and institutions, key components that make these systems effective were identified. Based on the advantages of these systems, a new system for documenting wooden polychrome sculptures was proposed. In addition, a digital version of the system was presented, offering additional benefits for documentation. The thesis also proposes a system of graphic symbols for recording damages and interventions on wooden polychrome sculptures, aiming to achieve consistency in the visual presentation of data. The practical application of the proposed documentation system and graphic symbols was tested using the example of the icon "Great Feasts," where its effectiveness was demonstrated in real working conditions. General data about the artwork, the current condition, as well as the analyses and tests conducted on the artwork were documented, along with graphic representations created using the proposed system of graphic symbols

The Impact of Artistic Expression on Students Concentration
Svrha ovog diplomskog istraživanja bila je ispitati kako i na koji način likovno izražavanje utječe na koncentraciju učenika. Također jedan od ciljeva istraživanja bilo je istražiti utječe li korištenje digitalnog sadržaja, odnosno svakodnevno korištenje aplikacije i bavljenje likovnim izražavanjem na poboljšanje koncentracije. Istraživanje je podijeljeno na dva djela, gdje je prvi dio koncentriran na učenike šestog razreda osnovne škole dobne skupine od 11 do 12 godina, dok je dugi dio istraživanja usmjeren na učenike petih i šestih razreda dobne skupine od 9 do 12 godina. Povodom istraživanja prvi dio sproveden je u Zagrebu tijekom dva nastavna sata likovne kulture u kojem su se učenici bavili vlastitim osjećajima zajedno s hobijima i zanimacijama. Otprilike dva tjedna prije samog početka nastave učenici su dobili link za aplikaciju LinijApp koja je programirana i predviđena isključivo u svrhu istraživanja. U tom periodu svaki učenik samostalno je svaki dan rješavao po jedan zadatak na aplikaciji s fokusom na linijske crteže. Osim kao uvod u sadržaj sata, aplikacija je učenicima služila kao ispomoć u likovnom radu u kojem su trebali vizualizirati vlastiti hobi ili zanimaciju različitim vrstama linija, a svaka odabrana linija trebala je prikazati neki osjećaj koji vežu uz taj hobi/zanimaciju. Nadalje, drugi dio istraživanja odvijao se u osnovnoj školi u Križevcima pod vodstvom kolegice nastavnice. Ovdje su učenici ponovno rješavali zadatke u aplikaciji na vlastitim pametnim telefonima, ali njima je bio zadatak zamisliti neki osjećaj po izboru te ga ponovno vizualizirati linijama po toku i karakteru. Ideja je bila istraživanje konstruirati kroz teme koje su učenicima bliske i interesantne, stoga u likovnom izražavanju prevladavaju njihovi osjećaji, svakodnevica i aktivnosti kojima se vole baviti u slobodno vrijeme. Svi ovi navedeni segmenti zajedno s radnim listićima (anketa i analiza) i diskusijom na kraju sata pomogli su odgovoriti na pitanja važna za istraživanje.The purpose of this thesis was to examine how artistic expression affects students' concentration. Also, one of the goals of the research was to investigate whether the use of digital content or the daily use of the application and engaging in artistic expression, affects the improvement of concentration. The research is divided into two parts, where the first part is focused on sixth grade elementary school students aged 11 to 12 years, while the second part of the research is focused on fifth and sixth grade students aged 9 to 12 years. On the occasion of the research, the first part was conducted in Zagreb during two lessons of fine arts, in which the students dealt with their own feelings together with their hobbies and interests. About two weeks before the start of classes, the students received a link to the LinijApp application, which is programmed and designed exclusively for research purposes. During that period, each student independently solved one task on the application every day with a focus on line drawings. In addition to being an introduction to the content of the class, the application served as an aid to the students in their art work in which they had to visualize their own hobby or occupation with different types of lines, and each chosen line was supposed to show certain feeling associated with that hobby/interest. Furthermore, the second part of the research took place in the elementary school in Križevci under the guidance of a colleague teacher. Here, the students again solved the tasks in the application on their own smartphones, but their task in class was to imagine a feeling of their choice and visualize it with lines according to flow and character. The idea was to construct the research through topics that are close and interesting to the students, therefore their feelings, everyday life and activities that they like to do in their free time prevail in their artistic expression. All these mentioned segments together with the worksheets (survey and analysis) and the discussion at the end of the lesson helped to answer the questions important for research
Telling Through Image - Correlation Visualization
Svrha ovog diplomskog istraživanja bila je ustanoviti odnos između učenikova funkcioniranja i njegove potrebe za izražavanjem te potaknuti razumijevanje važnosti slobodnog stvaranja u svakodnevici. Nakon određene životne dobi učenici pretpostavljaju da se likovnim i vizualnim stvaralaštvom mogu baviti samo oni koji posjeduju urođeni talent ili se profesionalno razvijaju u tim područjima. Tu je pretpostavku važno ispraviti prije nego što ona postane stav učenika. Problem koji proizlazi iz te pretpostavke te koji je bio uočen u nastavi likovne kulture bio je nedostatak intrinzične motivacije učenika pri samostalnom likovnom izražavanju. Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je otkriti može li se kroz povratak na originalne oblike spontanog stvaralačkog izražavanja – mitove i legende – pobuditi instinktivna volja za stvaranjem. Mogu li se, s pomoću učenja o važnosti mitoloških djela u stvaranju kulture, učenici potaknuti na samostalno likovno izražavanje? Rezultatima istraživanja odgovorilo se na sljedeća istraživačka pitanja: Kada i zašto dolazi do promjene stava učenika prema stvaralaštvu? Može li razumijevanje priče i pouke kao vrijednog dijela života utjecati na intrinzičnu motivaciju učenika? Istraživanje je bilo provedeno akcijski, u tri koraka: upoznavanje s mitom, korištenjem mita prilikom stvaranja te provjerom integracije naučenog. Uključivalo je metode planiranja unazad i unaprijed te metodu analize trenda putem upitnika (kako učenici doživljavaju svoje stvaralaštvo). Ustanovljeno je kako se pad zanimanja učenika za likovno i vizualno izražavanje događa postepeno, s najvećom razlikom između šestog i sedmog razreda. Nakon odrađenih nastavnih sati učeničko samopouzdanje u pristupu likovnom izražavanju poboljšalo se, ali to ne znači nužno da će se njime češće baviti u slobodno vrijeme.The purpose of this academic research was to establish the correlation between a student’s activity and their need to express themselves, as well as to encourage understanding the importance of unrestricted creativity in their everyday life. After they reach a certain age, students assume that the only people capable of artistic and visual creativity are either those with a born talent, or professionals in the field. Challenging this assumption is vital before it turns into a stance. The problem arising from this assumption, and one which was noticed during art classes, is a lack of intrinsic motivation in students during independent artistic expression. The goal of this research was to discover whether an instinctual will to create could be awakened through a return to the original form of spontaneous creative expression – myths and legends. Could the students be encouraged towards independent artistic expression through learning about the importance of myths in formation of culture? The results answered the following research questions: When and how does the student’s attitude towards creativity change? Could the understanding of storytelling and edification as important parts of life impact the student’s intrinsic motivation? The action research was executed in three steps: introduction to myth, using myth during the creative process, and review of integration of the lessons. Methods included backward design, forward design, and trend analysis via a questionnaire (the student’s opinions on their creativity). It established that the decrease in students’ interest in artistic and visual expression happens gradually, with the largest decline between the sixth and seventh grade. After the lessons were completed, the students’ overall confidence during artistic expression increased, but it does not necessarily mean they will spend more practicing it in their free time
