Integrated coastal zone management in practice
Donošenjem zakona o potvrđivanju Protokola o Integriranom upravljanju obalnog područja, Hrvatska se obvezala da u svojem obalnom području objedini prostorno i gospodarsko planiranje i zaštitu okoliša, prirodne i kulturne baštine. Cilj upravljanja razvojem jest održivi prostorno-gospodarski rast unutar nosivoga kapaciteta ekosustava. Ovaj opći, odavno prihvaćeni, razvojni cilj u obalnim područjima ima posebnu težinu, jer rast na dodiru kopna i mora gotovo svuda izmiče kontroli, izaziva konflikte i preopterećuje ekosustave. U ovom radu su predstavljeni primjeri dobre prakse integriranog upravljanja obalnim područjem u svijetu, kao i plan upravljanja morskim okolišem i obalnim područjem Splitsko-dalmatinske županije.By passing the law on the ratification of the Protocol on Integrated Management Coastal Area, Croatia undertook to unify spatial and economic planning and protection of the environment, natural and cultural heritage in its coastal area. The goal of development management is sustainable spatial economic growth within the carrying capacity of the ecosystem. This general, long-accepted, development goal in coastal areas has a special weight, because growth at the interface of land and sea almost everywhere gets out of control, causes conflicts and overloads ecosystems. This work presents examples of good practice of integrated coastal area management in the world, as well as the management plan for the marine environment and the coastal area of the Split-Dalmatia County
A review of computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools used by Croatian translators
Nowadays, as the demand for fast and accurate translations is growing, translators increasingly rely on computer technology to facilitate the translation process. In this sense, computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools and machine translation (MT) tools have become a necessity in daily work. This study attempts to shed light on the use of CAT tools, particularly among Croatian translators, regarding the types of tools used, the extent to which they are used and the extent to which they facilitate and/or expedite the translation process. The results are discussed in the context of a previously conducted survey among translators around the world on the same topic. The sample for the survey included 94 translators registered in Croatia with different experience and language pairs. The results show that a large number of translators use CAT tools but they do not agree on the degree of their efficiency
Analysis of the types and characteristics of nautical tourism vessels in the Republic of Croatia
Nautički turizam je gospodarska djelatnost koja se zasniva na sadržajima vezanima uz turističku i rekreativnu plovidbu morem, rijekama i jezerima. Važniji čimbenici nautičkoga turizma su prometna i komunalna infrastruktura luka, proizvodnja turističkih plovila i opreme te iznajmljivanje plovila. Prihodi u nautičkome turizmu ostvaruju se naplatom stalnoga ili tranzitnoga veza u moru ili mjesta na kopnu, uslugama servisa i održavanja plovila, iznajmljivanjem prostorija i plovila, prodajom goriva te pružanjem trgovačkih i ugostiteljskih usluga. Plovila nautičkog turizma su gliseri, gumenjaci, jedrilice, katamarani, jahte i mini kruzeri. Gliseri i gumenjaci su plovila koja glisiraju po moru, a jedina razlika je što gumenjaci imaju zračne komore. Jedrilice i katamarani su plovila koja mogu ploviti pomoću jedara ili motora, a razlika je u tome što katamarani imaju dva trupa. Jahte su najluksuznija plovila za najam zbog opremljenosti. Mini kruzeri su putnički brodovi koji zbog svoje veličine pružaju ugodan odmor i privatnost te uživanje u ljepotama hrvatske obale i otoka.Nautical tourism is an economic activity that is based on contents related to touristic and recreational sailing on the sea, rivers and lakes. More important factors of nautical tourism are the transport and communal infrastructure of the port, the production of tourist vessels and the equipment for renting vessels. Income in nautical tourism is realized by charging for permanent or transit berths at sea or places on land, service and maintenance of vessels, renting space and vessels, selling fuel and providing commercial and catering services. Nautical tourism vessels are speedboats, dinghies, sailboats, catamarans, yachts and mini cruisers. Speedboats and dinghies are vessels that glide across the sea, and the only difference is that dinghies have air chambers. Sailboats and catamarans are vessels that can sail using sails or motors, the difference being that catamarans have two hulls. Yachts are the most luxurious vessels for rent due to their equipment. Mini cruisers are passenger ships that, due to their size, offer a pleasant vacation and privacy, as well as enjoyment of the beauty of the Croatian coast and islands
Testing and maintenance of instrumental equipment in Ex-performance
Održavanje Ex-opreme i provjera ispravnosti iste smiju obavljati samo tvrtke ili obrtnici koji imaju registriranu opremu i radnike za izvedbu takvoga oblika posla, prema svim zakonima. Ispunjavanje uvjeta za obradu takvih podataka i poslova dokazuje se pozitivnim tehničkim nalazom za aktivnosti održavanja. Obrtnici ili kompanija koja je dobila posao na natječaju nudi usluge:
-Instalacije Ex. opreme (TN-IN)
-Održavanje Ex-opreme (TN-ODA)
-Popravak ex-opreme (TN-PO)
Ovlaštena osoba tako mora izvršiti provjeru ispravnosti koja je sukladno s zakonom dužna kontrolirati Ex-opremu i instalacije u sljedećim stanjima:
-Ex oprema se provjerava prema unaprijed dogovorenom planu
-Vrši se vizualni, te potom kontrolni pregled
-Ex oprema mora biti provjerena i dostavljena na pregled popraćena s odgovarajućom dokumentacijom
-Te sukladno svim ispunjenim uvjetima mora posjedovati ugovor o održavanju
Ex-područje je definirano kao područje gdje se može sadržavati atmosfera koja je podložna zapaljenju ili eksploziji tek kada atmosfera sadrži veliku količinu opasnih plinova, prašine ili pare. Ex atmosfera je mješavina tvari koje se miješaju sa zrakom i uslijed toga u atmosferi prouzrokuju uvjete koji se u obliku prašine, pare ili plina zapale i tako proširuju na cijelo područje.Maintenance of Ex-equipment and verification of its correctness may only be performed by companies or craftsmen who have registered equipment and workers for the performance of this type of work, according to all laws. Fulfillment of the conditions for processing such data and jobs is proven by a positive technical report for maintenance activities. Craftsmen or the company that won the job in the competition offers the following services:
- Ex equipment installations (TN-IN)
- Ex-equipment maintenance (TN-ODA)
-Repair of ex-equipment (TN-PO)
The authorized person must therefore carry out a correctness check, which in accordance with the law is obliged to control Ex-equipment and installations in the following states:
-Ex equipment is checked according to a pre-agreed plan
- A visual and then control inspection is performed
-Ex equipment must be checked and submitted for inspection accompanied by appropriate documentation
- And in accordance with all the fulfilled conditions, he must have a maintenance contract
Ex-zone is defined as an area where an atmosphere that is susceptible to ignition or explosion can be contained only when the atmosphere contains a large amount of dangerous gases, dust or steam. Ex atmosphere is a mixture of substances that mix with air and as a result cause conditions in the atmosphere that ignite in the form of dust, steam or gas and thus spread over the entire area
Impact of shipbuilding cycle and regulations on shipowner´s operations
Brodogradnja opskrbljuje tržište novim brodovima dok rezališta otkupljuju brodove koji više
nisu isplativi na tržištima. Što se tiče njihove gospodarske strukture, te dvije industrije su vrlo
različite. Brodogradnja je inženjerski posao koja prodaje velike i sofisticirane proizvode koje
se uglavnom grade u industrijskim zemljama: Južnoj Koreji, Japanu, Kini, Europi i SAD-u.
Zahtijevaju se značajna ulaganja i visoka razina tehničke i upravljačke stručnosti za
projektiranje i proizvodnju trgovačkog broda. Industrija rezališta brodova uglavnom je
smještena u zemljama niskih troškova rada. U nekim državama rezanje brodova odvija se na
obali. Pritom se koristi primitivan ručni alat i alat za rezanje
Safety equipment on cruise ships
Sigurnosna oprema na brodovima za kružna putovanja igra ključnu ulogu u zaštiti života i imovine putnika i posade. S obzirom na to da se brodovi često nalaze daleko od kopna i u nepredvidivim uvjetima na moru, sigurnost je od izuzetne važnosti. Prsluci za spašavanje su temeljna osobna sigurnosna oprema na brodovima. Ovi prsluci su izrađeni od plovne i nepropusne tkanine koja omogućuje plivanje i održava osobu na površini vode. Putnici i posada moraju biti obučeni kako ih pravilno koristiti. Brodovi za kružna putovanja također su opremljeni zajedničkom sigurnosnom opremom. To uključuje brodove za spašavanje koje se koriste u slučaju potrebe za brzim evakuacijama. Također postoje sustavi za gašenje požara, uključujući aparate za gašenje požara, vatrogasna crijeva i prskalice. Kako bi se osigurala pravilna upotreba sigurnosne opreme, putnici i posada prolaze kroz obuku. Redovite vježbe evakuacije održavaju se kako bi se svi upoznali s postupcima u slučaju hitnih situacija. Given that ships often find themselves far from shore and in unpredictable sea conditions, safety is of paramount importance. Life jackets are fundamental personal safety equipment on ships, constructed from buoyant and waterproof fabric that allows for swimming and keeps a person afloat on the water's surface. Passengers and crew must be trained to use them correctly. Cruise ships are also equipped with collective safety equipment, including life rafts used for rapid evacuations in case of emergencies. Firefighting systems are also in place, featuring fire extinguishers, fire hoses, and sprinklers. To ensure the proper use of safety equipment, passengers and crew undergo training. Regular evacuation drills are conducted to familiarize everyone with emergency procedures. Cruise ships are additionally equipped with communication and signaling systems to ensure a swift and efficient response in emergencies. These systems encompass radio stations, signal lights, and mirrors to reflect light and attract the attention of rescue teams. Safety equipment and protocols make cruise travel safe for everyone on board, and their correct usage and maintenance are crucial for ensuring safety at sea
Flexterm
Diplomski rad provodi istraživanje vezano za simulacije, simulacijsko modeliranje te FlexTerm simulacijski program. Definiraju se pojmovi simulacija, modela i simulacijskog modeliranja. Ti isti pojmovi se kategoriziraju te se objašnjavaju karakteristike njihovih kategorizacija. Daje se uvid u važnosti i prednosti provedbe simulacije s ciljem optimizacije poslovanja. U radu se navode se primjeri simulacijskih programa te je naveden primjer korištenja FlexTerm simulacijskog programa.The thesis conducts research related to simulations, simulation modeling, and the FlexTerm simulation program. The concepts of simulation, models, and simulation modeling are defined. These same concepts are categorized, and the characteristics of their categorizations are explained. An insight into the importance and advantages of conducting a simulation with the aim of business optimization is provided. The paper lists examples of simulation programs and an example of using a simulation program FlexTerm
Stepper motors
U ovom završnom radu se obrađuje tematika vezana uz koračne motore; njihov princip rada, vrste i upravljanje. U radu se ukratko govori o povijesti razvoja koračnog motora te opisuje njihov osnovni princip rada, skreće se pažnja na glavne vrste koračnih motora, njihovu konstrukciju te primjenjivost u svakodnevnim i industrijskim aplikacijama. Nadalje opisivane su funkcionalne karakteristike koračnih motora, njihova važnost momenta i frekvencija te proračun kuta koraka. Na samome kraju pozornost se daje upravljanju koračnim motorom, započevši sa opisivanjem vrsta koraka te objašnjenjem različitih struktura upravljačkih sklopova. Opisani su realni primjeri korištenja tih upravljačkih sklopova u raznim tehničkim i industrijskim aplikacijama.This final paper deals with the topic related to the stepper motors; their working principle, types and control. The paper briefly discusses the history of stepper motor development and describes basic operating principle of stepper motor, drawing attention to the main types of stepper motors, their construction and use in everyday and industrial applications. Furthermore, the functional characteristics of stepper motors, importance of torque and frequency, and the calculation of the step angle are described. At the very end, attention is paid to control of the stepper motor , starting with describing the types of steps and explaining the different structures of control circuits. Real examples of the control circuits in various technical and industrial applications are described
Financing possibilities of infrastructure for the protection of coastal waters and communal moorings in the Republic of Croatia
U svrhu podizanja svijesti o važnosti održivog razvoja i zaštite okoliša, Europska unija pruža financijsku potporu projektima putem različitih fondova s ciljem poticanja gospodarskog i društvenog rasta i napretka europskih država. Neki od fokusa trenutnog programskog razdoblja jesu jačanje gospodarstva, podupiranje digitalne i zelene tranzicije, digitalizacija, poboljšanje prometne povezanosti i mobilnosti te razvoj pametnih i održivih rješenja za poboljšanje kvalitete života građana Europe. Republika Hrvatska uključila se u razvoj i realizaciju projekata pod okriljem Operativnog programa Konkurentnost i kohezija s ciljem razvoja bolje prometne povezanosti unutar države, očuvanja okoliša, poticanja zaposlenosti stanovništva te brojnih drugih. Važna ulaganja čine se na području pomorskog prometa u okviru razvoja lučke infrastrukture i povećanja stupnja kvalitete pružanja pomorskoprijevozničke usluge, pritom implementirajući rješenja za očuvanje morskog okoliša.In order to raise awareness of importance of sustainable development and environmental protection, the European Union provides financial support to projects through various funds with the aim of stimulating the economic and social growth and progress of European countries. Some of the focuses of the current programme period include strengthening the economy, supporting the digital and green transition, digitization, improving transport connectivity and mobility, and developing smart and sustainable solutions to improve the quality of life of European citizens. The Republic of Croatia participated in the development and implementation of projects under the auspices of the Operational Programme Competitiveness and Cohesion with the aim of developing better transport connections within the country, preserving the environment, encouraging employment of the population and many others. Important investments are made in the field of maritime transport within the framework of the development of the port infrastructure and the improvement of the level of quality of the provision of maritime transport services, while simultaneously implementing solutions for the preservation of the marine environment
Development of port systems
Rad istražuje ključne aspekte razvoja lučkih infrastruktura u Republici Hrvatskoj i njihov utjecaj na gospodarsku konkurentnost, logističke kapacitete i turizam. Kroz analizu stanja i planova razvoja odabranih luka, istraživanje se fokusira na ulogu lučkih sustava kao ključnih točaka za trgovinu, transport i turizam.
U radu se istražuje kako uspješan razvoj lučkih sustava doprinosi povećanju gospodarske konkurentnosti Republike Hrvatske. Lučke infrastrukture omogućuju efikasnu razmjenu roba i putnika te potiču rast gospodarstva. Također, analizira se kako razvoj lučkih infrastruktura može unaprijediti logističke kapacitete i potaknuti turizam, što dodatno doprinosi ekonomskom razvoju.
Održivost i zaštita okoliša postali su ključni aspekti u razvoju lučkih sustava. Naglasak je stavljen na važnost projekata koji promiču zelenu i digitalnu tranziciju te smanjenje negativnog utjecaja na okoliš. Financiranje je istaknuto kao ključni faktor u ostvarivanju uspješnog razvoja lučkih sustava. Proučavaju se različite metode financiranja, uključujući sredstva EU fondova i nacionalne potpore.
Kroz proučavanje stanja i planova razvoja, rad ukazuje na važnost unaprjeđenja tehničkih i tehnoloških aspekata lučkih infrastruktura te poticanje suradnje između relevantnih dionika.
U zaključku, rad potvrđuje da uspješan razvoj lučkih sustava u Republici Hrvatskoj pridonosi gospodarskom napretku, logističkoj učinkovitosti i turističkom rastu. Održivost, tehnološka inovacija i suradnja ključni su faktori u stvaranju modernih, konkurentnih i održivih lučkih infrastruktura koje podržavaju dugoročni prosperitet države.The master's thesis entitled "Development of Port Systems" explores the key aspects of port infrastructure development in the Republic of Croatia and their impact on economic competitiveness, logistical capacities, and tourism. Through the analysis of the status and development plans of selected ports, the research focuses on the role of port systems as crucial points for trade, transportation, and tourism.
The thesis investigates how successful development of port systems contributes to enhancing the economic competitiveness of the Republic of Croatia. Port infrastructures enable efficient exchange of goods and passengers, thereby stimulating economic growth. Furthermore, it analyzes how the development of port infrastructures can enhance logistical capacities and promote tourism, further contributing to economic development.
Sustainability and environmental protection have become critical aspects in the development of port systems. Emphasis is placed on the significance of projects that promote green and digital transition, as well as the reduction of negative environmental impacts. Financing is highlighted as a key factor in achieving successful port system development. Various funding methods are examined, including funds from EU programs and national support.
Through the examination of the status and development plans, the thesis underscores the importance of improving the technical and technological aspects of port infrastructures, as well as fostering collaboration among relevant stakeholders.
In conclusion, the master's thesis confirms that the successful development of port systems in the Republic of Croatia contributes to economic progress, logistical efficiency, and tourism growth. Sustainability, technological innovation, and collaboration are key factors in creating modern, competitive, and sustainable port infrastructures that support the country's long-term prosperity
