Rehabilitation of a Soccer Player Following a Proximal Hamstring Tendon Injury : Undergraduate Thesis
Ruptura proksimalne tetive hamstringsa predstavlja ozbiljan problem za sportaše, a posebno nogometaše koji su izloženi velikom broju čimbenika rizika koji ih predisponiraju za razvitak ovakve vrste ozljede. Ovaj rad opisuje rehabilitaciju nogometaša nakon rupture proksimalne tetive stražnje natkoljenične lože. Detaljno se analiziraju anatomske karakteristike stražnje natkoljenične lože, biomehanika nastanka ozljede, metode dijagnostike, vrste liječenja te proces tetivnog cijeljenja i sama rehabilitacija. Poseban naglasak stavljen je na faze rehabilitacijskog procesa, kao i kriterije za povratak sportaša u punu sportsku aktivnost. Cilj rada je pružiti smjernice za multidisciplinarni pristup rehabilitaciji kako bi se osigurao uspješan povratak sportaša na istu natjecateljsku razinu bez povećanog rizika od ponovne ozljede.The rupture of the proximal hamstring tendon presents a serious issue for athletes, especially football players, who are at high risk for this type of injury. This paper examines the rehabilitation of football players following a rupture of the proximal hamstring tendon. It provides a detailed analysis of the anatomical characteristics of the posterior thigh muscles, the biomechanics of the injury, diagnostic methods, and treatment options, as well as the tendon healing process and the rehabilitation process. Special emphasis is placed on the phases of the rehabilitation process and the criteria for an athlete's return to full sports activity. The aim of the paper is to offer guidelines for a multidisciplinary approach to rehabilitation, ensuring a successful return to sport on the same competitive level without an increased risk of re-injury
Motor Skills Tests for Assessing Ability in Handball Back Players : Undergraduate Thesis
Motorički testovi koji se provode na sportašima, rukometašima su od izuzetne važnosti da napredak istih igrača, za sprečavanje mogućnosti ozljeda, a pogotovo za planiranje i programiranje treninga. Rukomet kao sport drastično se mijenja, sve je brže, više, jače. Zbog svega toga više je napada, obrana, više svih specifičnih kretnji, pogotovo brzih promjena smjerova, i eksplozivna snaga je izuzetno važan čimbenik. Rukomet se dijeli na pozicije, a u ovom radu smo se više orijentirali na vanjske igrače (lijevi, desni i srednji vanjski)i na motoričke testove za procjenu skočnosti kod vanjskih igrača. U rukometu imamo timove koji igraju na profesionalnoj razini, školske ekipe, amaterske klubove, a isto tako razlika među njima je u resursima, materijalnim, stručnim, infrastrukturnim. Testove dijelimo na terenske i laboratorijske, gdje je također razlika u složenosti provedbe i stručnih znanja za provođenje istih. Isto tako razvojem modernih tehnologija, a pogotovo video tehnologije i pametnih telefona postaju dostupniji instrumenti za provedbu motoričkih testova skočnosti, za razliku od prije kompliciranijih laboratorijskih testova koji su se provodili u dijagnostičkim centrima
Differences Between Successful and Less Successful Female Judokas in Specific Motor Abilities : Master's Thesis
Osnovni cilj ovog istraživanja bio je utvrditi razlike u specifičnim motoričkim sposobnostima između uspješnih i manje uspješnih judašica. U tu svrhu testirano je 11 ispitanica (dob=18,1±3,83; težina=68±12,9; visina=169,7±7,6) kadetskog, juniorskog i seniorskog uzrasta. Uzorak je podijeljen u dvije skupine; uspješne i manje uspješne judašice prema natjecateljskim rezultatima. Uzorak varijabli sačinjavala su dva testa za procjenu specifičnih motoričkih sposobnosti u judu (SJFT i JPFT) te tri upitnika: PRS (Perceived Recovery Status), RPE (Rating of Perceived Exertion) i upitnik za procjenu sličnosti s borbom. Za sve promatrane varijable izračunate su deskriptivne statističke mjere. S obzirom na veličinu uzorka, za utvrđivanje razlika između promatranih grupa, korišten je neparametrijski Mann-Whitney U test. Cohenova r statistika korištena je za veličine učinka između varijabli u Mann-Whitney U testa. Uspješne judašice su ostvarile značajno bolje rezultate u JPFT testu i to kada se koristila formula za izračunavanje koeficijenta za SJFT test.The primary aim of this study was to determine differences in specific motor abilities between successful and less successful female judokas. For this purpose, 11 participants (age = 18.1 ± 3.83 years; weight = 68 ± 12.9 kg; height = 169.7 ± 7.6 cm) of cadet, junior, and senior age categories were tested. The sample was divided into two groups (elite and non-elite) based on competitive success. The variable sample consisted of two tests for assessing specific motor abilities in judo (SJFT and JPFT) and three questionnaires: PRS (Perceived Recovery Status), RPE (Rating of Perceived Exertion), and a questionnaire for assessing similarity to combat. Descriptive statistical measures were calculated for all observed variables. Given the sample size, the non-parametric Mann-Whitney U test was used to determine differences between the observed groups. Cohen's r statistic was used to calculate effect sizes for the variables in the Mann-Whitney U test. Successful judokas achieved significantly better results in the JPFT test, particularly when using the formula for calculating the coefficient for the SJFT test
Planning and Implementing Plyometric Training in Football : Graduate Thesis
Nogomet je složena sportska aktivnost, koja od igrača zahtjeva, ovisno o poziciji na kojoj igra, visok stupanj fizičke pripremljenosti. Pliometrijski trening se u kondicijskoj pripremi nogometaša koristi već dugi niz godina te se kroz povijest pokazala kao neophodna u treningu svakog nogometaša. Definirao ga je amerikanac, Fred Wilt,1975. i otad se takav tip treninga, u kojem se koristi ekscentrično-koncentrično svojstvo mišića naziva pliometrijski trening. Cilj ovog završnog rada je detaljno opisati pliometrijski trening te njegovu implementaciju u nogometni trening.Football is a complex sporting activity, which requires a high degree of physical fitness from the player, depending on the position in which he plays. Plyometrics has been used in the fitness training of football players for many years, and throughout history it has proven to be necessary in the training of every football player. It was defined by an American, Fred Wilt, in 1975. Since then this type of training, in which the eccentric-concentric property of the muscles is used, is called plyometric training. TE-TA Preparation Methodology for Pubescent Basketball Players : Graduate Thesis
Metodika tehničko-taktičke pripreme u košarci igra ključnu ulogu u razvoju košarkašica i postizanju uspjeha na terenu. Kroz sustavno planiranje, primjenu tehnike i taktike, te kontinuiranu analizu i prilagodbu, treneri mogu osigurati optimalnu pripremu igračica i ekipa za izazove suvremenog košarkaškog okruženja. Analizirali smo teorijske osnove, konkretne primjene i perspektive budućeg razvoja, pružajući uvid u najefikasnije strategije treninga koje doprinose razvoju košarkašica pubertetske dobi i postizanju ciljeva ekipa u cjelini. Metodika tehničko-taktičke pripreme u košarci ostaje ključni faktor u postizanju vrhunskih rezultata u ovom dinamičnom i zahtjevnom sportu.The methodology of technical-tactical preparation in basketball plays a key role in the development of female basketball players and in achieving success on the court. Through systematic planning, the application of techniques and tactics, as well as continuous analysis and adaptation, coaches can ensure optimal preparation of players and teams for the challenges of the modern basketball environment. We analyzed the theoretical foundations specific applications and future development perspectives, providing insight into the most effective training strategies that contribute to the development of pubescent female basketball players and the achievement of team goals. Importance of Nutrition for Success in Football : Undergraduate Thesis
Prehrana ima ključnu ulogu u sportskoj izvedbi, a posebno u nogometu, gdje su visoki fizički zahtjevi uobičajena norma. Uravnotežena prehrana pomaže nogometašima da dostignu svoj puni potencijal pružajući im potrebnu energiju, potičući regeneraciju mišića i omogućujući brži oporavak. Ovaj rad istražuje utjecaj prehrane na nogometne performanse s naglaskom na makronutrijente, poput ugljikohidrata koji osiguravaju energiju, proteina važnih za izgradnju i oporavak mišića, te masti koje podržavaju dugotrajnu izdržljivost. Posebno je važno i održavanje pravilne hidratacije kako bi se spriječila dehidracija koja može negativno utjecati na izvedbu. Također, razmatra se utjecaj prehrambenih strategija prije, tijekom i nakon utakmica ili treninga. Pravilna prehrana ne samo da optimizira fizičke sposobnosti, već i pridonosi mentalnoj oštrini, što je neizostavan faktor uspjeha u nogometu na visokoj razini.Nutrition plays a vital role in athletic performance, particularly in football, where the physical demands are high. A balanced diet helps football players reach their full potential by providing essential energy, promoting muscle recovery, and ensuring quicker rehabilitation after intense exertion. This paper explores the impact of nutrition on football performance, focusing on key macronutrients such as carbohydrates, which provide energy, proteins that are essential for muscle building and recovery, and fats that support long-term endurance. Proper hydration is also crucial to prevent dehydration, which can impair performance. Additionally, the importance of nutritional strategies before, during, and after matches or training sessions is discussed. Optimal nutrition not only enhances physical capabilities but also contributes to mental sharpness, which is a key factor in high-level football success
Foot Overexertion Syndrome : Undergraduate Thesis
Većina bolnih stanja zbog kojih se ljudi javljaju fizioterapeutu/kineziterapeutu zapravo su kronične ozljede, odnosno oštećenja ili sindromi prenaprezanja, a ne akutne ozljede. Akutna ozljeda je posljedica fizičke traume (jasno definiran uzrok), poput udarca, pada, uganuća (distorzija), istegnuća, puknuća (rupture), kontuzija (nagnječenja), prijeloma (fraktura). Nastaje naglo i trenutno (kratko djelovanje mehaničke sile). Posljedica je djelovanja pretjerane sile na naš lokomotorni sustav (kosti, mišiće, ligamente, fascije, zglobne čahure) te dolazi do djelomičnog ili potpunog pucanja struktura. Manifestira se u vidu oštre boli. Kronična ozljeda (sindrom prenaprezanja) nastaje postepeno, kroz duži vremenski period, nije direktno uzrokovana fizičkom traumom, već je posljedica prekomjernog treninga, neadekvatnog opterećenja i mikrotrauma koje nadvladava sposobnost reparacije (oporavka/obnavljanja) tkiva, i ne mora nužno uzrokovati strukturalnu promjenu; drugim riječima, nalazi ultrazvuka (UZV) ili magnetske rezonance (MRI) mogu biti uredni. Osoba ih registrira kao ozljedu tek kada bol postane jača ili im onemogući nastavak aktivnosti, a uzrok je zapravo nastao puno prije. Najčešći scenarij je da se blaga, neometajuća bol pojavi nakon aktivnosti i brzo prođe. Bol se može pojaviti i na početku aktivnosti, pa nestati nakon zagrijavanja. Postepeno se bol sve dulje zadržava tijekom i nakon aktivnosti, a naposljetku boli stalno, nevezano uz aktivnost. Mnogi tek tada potraže pomoć. Sindrom prenaprezanja za posljedicu ima stvaranje upala tetiva (hvatišta), otekline i stres frakture. Ovim ozljedama podložnija su meka i potporna tkiva, a rjeđe kosti. Iako su i akutne ozljede i sindromi prenaprezanja prisutni i u profesionalnom i u rekreativnom bavljenju sportom, može se reći da profesionalcu veći rizik predstavljaju sindromi prenaprezanja, a rekreativcu akutne ozljede jer često kreću sa sportskim aktivnostima nakon dulje pauze, fizički nespremni.Most of the painful conditions why people go to a physiotherapist/kinesitherapist are actually chronic injuries, damage or overuse syndromes, not acute injuries. Acute injury is the result of physical trauma (clearly defined cause), such as impact, fall, sprain, strain, rupture, contusion, fracture. It occurs suddenly and instantaneously (short action of mechanical force). It is the result of the action of excessive force on our locomotor system (bones, muscles, ligaments, fascia, joint capsules) and partial or complete rupture of the structure occurs. It manifests itself in the form of sharp pain. Chronic injury (overstrain syndrome) occurs gradually, over a long period of time, is not directly caused by physical trauma, but is a consequence of excessive training, inadequate load and microtrauma that overcome the tissue's ability to repair (recover), and does not necessarily cause a structural change; in other words, ultrasound or magnetic resonance imaging findings may be normal. A person registers them as an injury only when the pain becomes stronger or makes it impossible for them to continue their activities, and the cause actually arose much earlier. The most common scenario is that mild, uninterrupted pain occurs after activity and passes quickly. Pain may also appear at the beginning of the activity, then disappear after warming up. It gradually lingers longer and longer during and after the activity, and eventually it will be permanent, unrelated to the activity. Many only then ask for help. Overexertion syndrome results in inflammation of the tendons (grips), swelling and stress fractures. Soft and supporting tissues, and less often bones, are the subject of these injuries. Although acute injuries and overexertion syndromes are present in both professional and recreational sports, it can be said that overexertion syndromes pose a greater risk to professionals, and acute injuries to recreational athletes because they often start sports activities after a long break, physically unprepared
School Success and Engagement in Sports of Primary School Children in Split : Master's Thesis
Glavni je cilj istraživanja bio povezati angažman u sportu sa školskim uspjehom kod osnovnoškolske djece u Splitu. Ispitanici su bila djeca osmih razreda osnovnih škola u dobi od 14 do 15 godina gdje je uzorak uzet iz pet osnovnih škola. Testiranje je provedeno kroz upitnik koji je bio podijeljen učenicima i čiji su odgovori upućivali bave li se fizičkom aktivnosti na natjecateljskoj razini, odnosno treniraju 5 puta tjedno i više te imaju status sportaša, u odnosu na djecu koja nisu fizički aktivna u tolikoj mjeri i imaju status nesportaša. Pored navedenih pitanja o sportskoj aktivnost upitnik se sastojao i od drugih pitanja koja se odnose na rezultate u školi, sveukupno 14 pitanja. Ispitanici su morali ispuniti sve odgovore kako bi mogli zaključiti anketu. Istraživanje je pokazalo da dječaci i djevojčice bez obzira što se bave bilo kojim oblikom tjelesne aktivnosti, profesionalno ili rekreativno to nema negativan utjecaj na školski uspjeh na kraju godine u odnosu na djecu nesportaše.The main goal of the research was to link involvement in sports with school success among elementary school children in Split. The respondents were eighth-grade elementary school children aged 14 to 15, where the sample was taken from five elementary schools. The testing was carried out through a questionnaire that was distributed to the students, whose answers indicated whether they engage in physical activity at a competitive level, that is, they train 5 times a week or more and have the status of athletes, compared to children who are not physically active to such an extent and have the status non-athletes. In addition to the aforementioned questions about sports activity, the questionnaire also consisted of other questions related to school results, a total of 14 questions. The respondents had to fill in all the answers in order to be able to conclude the survey. Research has shown that boys and girls, regardless of whether they engage in any form of physical activity, professionally or recreationally, it does not have a negative impact on school performance at the end of the year compared to non-athlete children
The Acute Influence of Classic Massage on the Flexibility of the ITB Tract : Master's Thesis
U svijetu sporta masaža je vrlo često korištena metoda opuštanja i oporavka, a primjenjuje se i u rješavanju problematike unutar mišićno-koštanog sustava i za smanjenje bolnih stanja. Sklonost skraćivanju mišića i gubitak fleksibilnosti vrlo je prisutna pojava među sportašima. Cilj provedenog istraživanja bio je ustanoviti postoje li akutne razlike u fleksibilnosti iliotibijalne sveze prije i nakon tretmana klasičnom masažom. Masaža se primjenjuje kao terapijska manipulacija mekim tkivima, a poznata je kao jedan od najstarijih oblika liječenja. U sklopu istraživanja kroz Ober test izvršena je procjena napetosti ITB sveze dominantne noge tj. izmjeren je opseg pokreta prije i nakon primjene masaže korištenjem goniometra EasyAngle. U studiji je sudjelovalo 12 mladih nogometaša, a provedena je u centru za kineziterapiju u Splitu. Iz priloženih rezultata zaključeno je da masaža akutno djeluje na povećanje fleksibilnosti odnosno smanjenje napetosti ITB sveze (p = 0,00). Kroz buduća istraživanja trebalo bi obratiti pažnju na specifične tehnike u okviru masaže i dodatno proučiti njihov efekt na meko tkivo uz ostale manualne metode i druge vrste masaža.In the world of sports, massage is a very often used method of relaxation and recovery. It is also used to solve problems within the musculoskeletal system and to reduce painful conditions. Tendency to shorten muscles and loss of flexibility is a very common phenomenon among athletes. The aim of the conducted research was to establish whether there are acute differences in the flexibility of the iliotibial tract before and after treatment with classic massage. Massage is applied as a therapeutic manipulation of soft tissues, and is known as one of the oldest forms of treatment. On the occasion of research, the tension of the ITB ligament of the dominant leg was assessed through the Ober test, i.e. the range of motion was measured before and after the application of the massage, using the EasyAngle goniometer. 12 young soccer players participated in the study, and it was conducted at the kinesitherapy center in Split. From the attached results, it is evident that the massage has an acute effect on increasing the flexibility or reducing the tension of the ITB tract. Through future research, attention should be paid to specific massage techniques and their effect on soft tissue should be further studied along with other manual methods types of massages
Kinesitherapy in the Rehabilitation of Knee in Football : Undergraduate Thesis
Nogomet je složen i dinamičan sport koji zahtijeva visoku razinu fizičke spremnosti, koordinacije i snage, pri čemu su koljena podložna velikim opterećenjima i čestim ozljedama. Koljeno, kao jedan od najvažnijih zglobova u tijelu, igra ključnu ulogu u stabilnosti, pokretljivosti i izvedbi sportaša. Ozljede koljena, poput suza prednjeg križnog ligamenta (ACL – Anterior Cruciate Ligament ), meniskusa, i drugih struktura zgloba, mogu ozbiljno ugroziti karijeru sportaša i zahtijevaju pažljivo planiranu i brzu rehabilitaciju kako bi se omogućio siguran i učinkovit povratak sportskim aktivnostima. Ovaj rad istražuje različite aspekte rehabilitacije koljena u nogometu, uključujući anatomiju koljena, uobičajene ozljede, metode liječenja, i ulogu kineziterapije u procesu oporavka. Fokus je stavljen na važnost pravovremene i pravilno vođene rehabilitacije, koja uključuje akutnu, subakutnu i kasnu fazu oporavka. Svaka faza ima specifične ciljeve i pristupe, od smanjenja boli i upale u akutnoj fazi, do obnavljanja pokretljivosti, snage i propriocepcije u subakutnoj i kasnoj fazi. Kineziterapija se pokazala ključnom za uspješan oporavak, kroz upotrebu specifičnih vježbi i tehnika koje jačaju mišiće, poboljšavaju fleksibilnost i stabilnost, te pripremaju sportaša za povratak na teren. Također, naglasak je stavljen na prevenciju ponovnih ozljeda, kroz kontinuirano jačanje mišića, održavanje fleksibilnosti, proprioceptivni trening, te edukaciju pacijenata o pravilnoj tehnici kretanja i važnosti održavanja programa vježbanja. Kvalitetna i brza rehabilitacija, uz pridržavanje preporučenih smjernica, ključna je za dugoročno zdravlje koljena i održavanje sportske karijere na visokoj razini.Football is a complex and dynamic sport that requires a high level of physical fitness, coordination, and strength, with the knees being particularly susceptible to significant loads and frequent injuries. The knee, as one of the most important joints in the body, plays a key role in stability, mobility, and athletic performance. Knee injuries, such as tears of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), meniscus, and other joint structures, can severely jeopardize an athlete's career and require carefully planned and rapid rehabilitation to ensure a safe and effective return to sports activities. This paper explores various aspects of knee rehabilitation in football, including knee anatomy, common injuries, treatment methods, and the role of kinesitherapy in the recovery process. The focus is on the importance of timely and properly guided rehabilitation, which includes the acute, subacute, and late phases of recovery. Each phase has specific goals and approaches, from reducing pain and inflammation in the acute phase, to restoring mobility, strength, and proprioception in the subacute and late phases. Kinesitherapy has proven crucial for successful recovery, through the use of specific exercises and techniques that strengthen muscles, improve flexibility and stability, and prepare the athlete for a return to the field. Additionally, emphasis is placed on the prevention of re-injuries, through continuous muscle strengthening, maintaining flexibility, proprioceptive training, and educating patients on proper movement techniques and the importance of adhering to an exercise program. High-quality and rapid rehabilitation, along with adherence to recommended guidelines, is key to long-term knee health and maintaining a high-level sports career
