Mendelssohn Violin Concerto in E-minor and the 19th century performance practice
This thesis investigates the 19th century performance practice of violin playing exemplified in the Concerto for Violin & Orchestra in E-minor by F. Mendelssohn. The first section provides biographical insights into both Felix Mendelssohn and his good friend and colleague Ferdinand David. The second section explores 19th century performance practices through an examination of the origins and evolution of the German violin school and three expressive tools of the era: vibrato, portamento and the type of bows used and its influence on the articulation of spiccato and sautillé. The third section applies these expressive tools to the Violin Concerto by Mendelssohn
CONSERVATION - RESTORATION TREATMENT OF BALLOT VOTING URN FROM THE MUSEUM OF SACRED ART OF THE CATHEDRAL OF ST. LAWRENCE
Provedeni konzervatorsko-restauratorski radovi obuhvaćali su postupke uklanjanja površinske nečistoće te konsolidaciju drva i bojanog sloja nakon kojih su izvedene rekonstrukcije oštećenja nosioca, preparacije i bojanog sloja.ABSTRACT: The paper describes the conservation-restoration procedure carried out on a wooden polychrome ballot voting urn (17th century) from the Museum of Sacred Art of the Cathedral of St. Lawrence in Trogir. The architecture of man
Apstraktnim i ekspresionističkim izričajem autorica istražuje razne atribute vlastite psihe i tijela, čime koncept rada postaje osoban. Poseban naglasak autorica stavlja na tvarnost tijela i vlastitu slikarsku gestu kao ključne komponente rada. The work devolopt from four pencil drawings that visually depicted multiple bodies joined together to become completely new structures. With that, the author visually explored ideas about the changing human consciousness, and the individuals relationship with their own body. The author further develops this concept, now combining multiple bodies into abstract structures, concentrating on the very materiality of the body and her own artistic gesture. She focuses on how physical presence shapes our emotional state, and how mental changes affect our physical body, emphasizing the intimate connection between physical and mental growth and development. Abstractly and expressionistically, she explores various attributes of her own psyche and body, thus the concept of the work becomes personal. She places special emphasis on the materiality of the body and her own painting gesture as key components of the work
Alienation as a theme and as a method of the animated film "Worm exit hole"
This thesis explores the concept of alienation as a central theme and methodological approach in the animated film Worm Exit Hole. The author analyzes how alienation, as a philosophical and existential concept, is reflected through the film’s visual and sound elements, and how this theme is connected to the processes of maturation, separation, and the inner transformation of the main character. Special attention is given to symbolism, metaphors, and the use of defamiliarization to create emotional engagement with the audience and provoke deeper philosophical reflection
Ludwig van Beethoven: Sonate op.78 no. 24 in F sharp minor / A formal, technical and interpretative analysis
In this sonata whose structure, lyricism and musicality step out of the traditional frame, Beethoven's different and a bit unusual character is manifested. In the desire to bring closer the beauty of this unique opus to every future performer, which I studied and performed myself, I decided to present a detailed formal and harmonic analysis of both movements – Adagio cantabile and Allegro vivace, to lay out all the technical difficulties and ways of practicing the same and to elaborate an interpretative analysis to make its performance clearer. At the very beginning of this thesis I will reflect on life and creativity of Ludwig van Beethoven
The Depiction of the Human-Nature Relationship in Film Art
Rad pod nazivom Odnos čovjeka i prirode u filmskoj umjetnosti istražuje duboku povezanost između ljudi i prirode kroz analizu četiri filma.
The title of the final thesis arose from the previous topic "Trace", where she investigated the connection of neurons in the human brain, wanting to show the physical state of the brain after the consumption of intoxicants. The work has dimensions of 50 x 50 cm, in acrylic and matte spray technique. She laid thick threads on the canvas one over the other, creating her idea of the effect and connection of a network of neurons. After coating the surface of the canvas with the spray, the canvas straightens. The author continued to explore her idea, procedure and gesture that began in this way in the final work using automatic drawing on paper
