    Distance measurement sensors

    Kada se radi o tehničkim sustavima, vrlo je bitan izbor komponenti sustava za određenu funkciju. U ovom diplomskom radu opisani su načini rada pojedinih senzora za mjerenje udaljenosti. Proveden je eksperiment kojim se uspoređuje praktična primjena senzora za mjerenje udaljenosti u industriji. Rezultati ovog diplomskog rada prikazuju koji su od dostupnih senzora pokazali najtočnije rezultate u odnosu na rezultate zadane od proizvođača, te je zaključeno koji su razlozi odstupanja pojedinih senzora od predviđenih veličina.When it comes to technical systems, the choice of system components for a particular function is very important. This thesis describes the modes of operation of individual sensors for measuring distances. An experiment was conducted comparing the practical application of distance sensors in industry. The results of this thesis show which of the available sensors showed the most accurate results in relation to the results given by the manufacturer, and it was concluded what are the reasons for the deviation of individual sensors from the predicted values

    Marine diesel engine fuel oil system

    Za pogon brodskih dizelskih motora, u najvećoj mjeri rabe tekuća brodska dizelska goriva, ali je sve veća tendencija uporabe plina kao pogonskog goriva. Tekuća goriva za brodove su fosilna ili bio podrijetla, dok plinska goriva mogu biti prirodna (zemni plin) ili rezultati destilacije fosilnih goriva. Brodsko dizelsko gorivo je mješavina nekolicine različitih ugljikovodika, počevši od spoja koji sadrži od 9 do 23 ugljikova atoma u molekuli. Primarni cilj svih goriva je pretvoriti energiju sagorijevanjem goriva u korisni mehanički radova s što manjim gubitkom topline, uz najveću iskoristivost. Kvaliteta goriva uvjetovana je redom ugljikovodika, a međusobni omjer ugljikovodika određen je vrstom nafte iz koje je dobiveno. U posljednjih nekoliko desetljeća, brodarska industrija i pomorski promet brzo su rasli. Trenutno postoji više od 50 000 trgovačkih brodova koji prometuju u međunarodnim vodama i čine oko 90 % svjetske trgovine. Danas se pozornost posvećuje zaštiti atmosfere od emisije štetnih ispušnih plinova. Izgaranje fosilnih goriva u atmosferu emitira ugljični dioksid, sumporni dioksid i dušične okside koji značajno doprinose onečišćenju okoliša.Diesel engines are mostly used for diesel engines and even for Dual Fuel DF engines, but there is a growing tendency to use gas as a propellant. Liquid fuels for ships are fossil or originating, while gas fuels can be natural (natural gas) or the result of distillation of fossil fuels. Marino Diesel Fuel is a mixture of several different hydrocarbons, starting from a compound containing from 9 to 23 carbon atoms in the molecule. The primary goal of all fuels is to convert energy from combustion to useful mechanical engineering with the least loss of heat, with the highest usability. Fuel quality is conditioned by the number of hydrocarbons, and the hydrocarbon ratio among them is determined by the type of oil from which it is obtained. In recent decades, the shipping industry and maritime traffic have grown rapidly. There are currently more than 50 000 merchant ships operating in international waters and account for about 90 % of the world's trade. Today, attention is paid to the protection of the atmosphere from the emission of harmful exhaust gases. Combustion of fossil fuels in the atmosphere emits carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides that contribute significantly to environmental pollution

    U radu se prikazuje pravni status luka posebne namjene. Luka posebne namjene predstavlja morsku luku koja je u posebnoj upotrebi ili gospodarskom korištenju pravnih ili fizičkih osoba. Luke posebne namjene dijele se na luke nautičkog turizma, industrijske luke, brodogradilišne luke, sportske luke, ribarske luke i luke državnog tijela, odnosno vojne luke. Upravljanje lukom posebne namjene dodijeljeno je nositelju koncesije za luku posebne namjene i dostupne su samo onima koji se njima služe sukladno uvjetima koje propisuje davatelj koncesije.This final thesis provides a overview of the legal status of special purpose ports. A special purpose port is a sea port that is in the special use or economic use of legal or natural persons. Special purpose ports are divided into nautical tourism ports, industrial ports, shipyard ports, sports ports, fishing ports and ports of the state body, i.e. military ports. The management of a special purpose port is assigned to the concession holder for a special purpose port and is available only to those who use them in accordance with the conditions prescribed by the concession grantor

    Pomorske komunikacije jako su bitan faktor bez kojeg bi današnje pomorstvo izgledalo nezamislivo. Osim komuniciranja s drugim brodovima u plovidbi, te članovima firme koji se brinu o rutama i poslovima broda iz matičnih ureda, vrlo je bitna i međusobna komunikacija svih članova posade te razumijevanje i poštivanje kako bi radni odnos bio uspješan i što učinkovitiji. U ovome radu prikazat će se kojim se sve uređajima postiže komunikacija na brodu te kako se dolazi do potrebnih informacija koje omogućuju neometanu plovidbu. Također će biti objašnjena važnost ergonomski oblikovanog radnog mjesta te njegove pogodnosti. Opisat će se razni uređaji za komunikacije te će se prikazati njihova uporaba i funkcija. Osim navedenog bit će prikazana usporedba uređaja te cjelokupnog mosta jednog od brodova u floti firme Jadrolinija u odnosu na suvremenu motornu jahtu. Cilj rada je što bolje prikazati interakciju čovjeka i stroja.Maritime communications are a very important factor without which today's maritime affairs would seem unthinkable. In addition to communicating with other ships in navigation, and members of companies that take care of the routes and affairs of the ship from the registry office, it is very important mutual communication of all crew members and understanding and respect to make the relationship successful and efficient. This paper will show which devices are used to achieve communication on board and how the necessary information is obtained that enables uninterrupted navigation. The importance of an ergonomically designed workplace and its benefits will also be explained. Various communication devices will be described which will be shown by their use and function. In addition to the above, a comparison of the device and the entire bridge of one of the ships in the Jadrolinija fleet in relation to modern motor yacht will be presented. The aim of this paper is to better show the interaction between man and machines

    Tegljenje brodova je zahtjevna pomorska operacija kojom se omogućava kretanje onesposobljenog broda. Obavezna je propisna oprema i obuka pri opremanju broda opremom za tegljenje. Najčešći oblici spašavanja su u slučaju odsukivanja i teglja plovnih objekata čiji je pogon neispravan ili nepostojeći. Operacije tegljenja koriste se pri spašavanju broda u slučaju oštećenja, onesposobljenosti ili servisa, a tegljenjem se smatra i asisistiranje brodovima pri uplovljavanju i isplovljavanju iz luke, privezivanju i okretanju na malim prostorima. Postupci pri tegljenju i spašavanju definirani su međunarodnim konvencijama.Towing ships is a demanding naval operation that allows the movement of a disabled ship. Proper equipment and training in equipping the ship with towing equipment is mandatory. The most common forms of rescue are in the case of ungrounding and towing vessels whose propulsion is defective or non-existent. Towing operations are used to rescue a ship in the event of damage, incapacity or service, and towing is also considered as assistance in entering and leaving the port, mooring and turning in small areas.     An optical fibre technology in cargo handling

    Optičke tehnologije se primjenjuju u pomorstvu, avioprijevozu te cestovnom prometu. Optičko vlakno ili svjetlovod je prozirna nit koja provodi svjetlost. Optička komunikacija za prijenos informacija sastoji se od sljedećih komponenti: LED dioda ili laser za izvor signala (predajnik), optičko vlakno te fotodioda koja služi kao detektor (prijamnik). U ovom radu se predstavlja korištenje optičke tehnologije u pomorstvu za rukovanje teretom. Predstavljeni su razni optički senzori koji služe za mjerenje naprezanja, razine tekućine, temperature i vlažnosti. Opisani optički senzori pokazali su da imaju prednosti u točnosti, izdržljivosti, brzini odziva i praćenju u realnom vremenu u odnosu na konvencionalne senzore.Optical fiber technologies are applying in maritame transport, air transportation and road traffic. Optical fiber is transparent thread through which light is conducted. Optical fiber communication for data transmition consists of the following components: LED diode or laser is used for signal source (transmitter), optical fiber and a photodiode that serves as detector (receiver). This paper presents the use of optical technology in maritame affairs for cargo handling. Optical sensors for measuring strain, fluid level, temperature and humidity are presented. Described optical sensors have been shown to have advantages in accuracy, durability, response time and real-time monitoring compared to conventional sensors

    Suvremeni sustavi nadzora i upravljanja na brodovima realiziraju se pomoću provjerenih standardiziranih industrijskih automatizacijskih sustava i komponenti. U usporedbi s prethodnim rješenjima odlikuju se velikom jednostavnošću projektiranja, ugradnje i održavanja, kao i većom složenošću zadataka koje mogu obavljati. U njihovoj jezgri nalaze se programabilni logički automati (Programmable Logic Controllers - PLCs), procesorske jedinice kompaktne, robusne i modularne konstrukcije s integriranim analognim i digitalnim ulaznim i izlaznim kanalima, prilagođene uvezivanju u složene komunikacijske mreže na više razina. Sustav nadzora i upravljanja time je distribuiran i decentraliziran, ali svejedno je moguće centralizirano praćenje procesa i intervencija u njih. Ovakvi sustavi obavljaju sve klasične funkcije nadzora i upravljanja, kao što su obrada i prezentacija senzoričke informacije, detekcija i signalizacija alarma, lokalno i daljinsko ručno upravljanje pojedinim uređajima, pri čemu mnoge upravljačke operacije mogu biti djelomično ili potpuno automatizirane. Dodatne funkcije među ostalim uključuju automatsko arhiviranje izabranih događaja i parametara procesa, kao i sve bolju dijagnostiku i samo - dijagnostiku.Modern surveillance systems and ship management are realized by verified standardized industrial automation systems and somponents. Compared to previous solutions are characterized by great simplicity of design, installation and maintenance as well as the greater complexity of the tasks they can perform. They are at their core programmable logic controllers (Programmable Logic Controllers - PLCs), processor units compact, robust and modular constructions with integrated analog and digital input and output channels, adapted to binding into complex multi – level communication networks. Monitoring and control system thereby being distributed and decentralized but it is still possible centralized process monitoring and intervention in them. Systems like this do it all classic control and management functions such as processing and presenting sensory information, alarm detection and signaling, local and remote manual control individual devices, whereby many management operations can be partially or fully automated. Additional features among others include automatic archiving of selected events and process parameters as well as better diagnostics and self – diagnostic

    Hatch covers on bulk carriers

    Ovaj završni rad je pisan u svrhu razumijevanja i istraživanja sustava poklopaca grotala te njihovih funkcija. Na samom početku su navedene općenite informacije o brodovima za prijevoz rasutog tereta. Zatim se navode vrste brodova na kojima se primjenjuju različite vrste poklopaca. U daljem radu donosimo detaljan opis za sve suvremene vrste poklopaca grotala te njihovih osnovnih dijelova i načina pokretanja. Pravila registra se temelje na člancima u kojima se navode sva pravila u vezi poklopaca grotala, i posljedica nastalih propuštanjem sustava poklopaca na primjeru MV Stellar Banner. Navedene su procedure i kontrolne liste za obavljanje svih radnji vezanih za rukovanje poklopcima. Na kraju je obrađena izvedba za sustav McGregor i pojednostavljena shema hidrauličkog sustava u svrhu boljeg razumijevanja funkcije sustava.This thesis is written for the purpose of understanding and researching hatch cover systems and their functions. At the beginning general information on bulk carriers is provided. The types of ships on which different types of covers are applied are then listed. In the following work we provided a detailed description for all modern types of hatch covers and their basic parts and methods of operation. The rules of register are based on articles in which are listed all rules regarding hatch covers, together with consequences of water ingress on hatch cover system which are based on the example of MV Stellar Banner. Procedures and checklists for performing all actions related to hatch cover handling are listed. In final part design for the McGregor system is explained and the hydraulic system scheme is simplified in order for better understanding of how the system is functioning

    Risky behavior and risky lifestyles of seafarers

    Kroz završni rad ukazuje se na rizične stilove života i rizična ponašanja pomoraca duge plovidbe. Stavlja se naglasak na posljedice takvog ponašanja, psihičke i fizičke tegobe, bolesti te ugrožavanje radnih uvjeta, kako pojedine osobe, tako i svih na brodu. Pomorstvo je vrlo specifično zanimanje i pomorcima će uvijek prijetiti određeni rizici, ali ti se rizici preventivnim radnjama, edukacijom pomoraca i ukazivanjem na važnost izbjegavanja rizičnih ponašanja mogu svesti na najmanju moguću mjeru. Alkoholizam, narkomanija i kockanje su neki od primjera rizičnog ponašanja, koji doprinose smanjenju sigurnosti na brodu i dovode do dugoročnih posljedica na čovjekovo zdravlje.The subject of this thesis is the seafarers' risky behaviour and risky lifestyles. Actions and proceedings that can lead to mental and physical difficulties or ilnesses contaminating work conditions for individual as well as for the whole crew aboard are issued here. Seamanship is not ordinary profession and there will be always some kind of risk for seafarers, however those risks can be minimized with preventive actions by educating seafarers and highlighting the importance of avoiding those risky behaviors. Alcoholism, drug addicition and gambling are examples of the risky behaviors that can lead to decreased safety onboard and also have bad long-term consequences on human health

    Međunarodni propisi oduvijek su nadograđivani kako bi pratili suvremeni razvoj pomorstva i tehnologije prijevoza stvari morem. Pomorski prijevoz od izuzetne je važnosti u svjetskoj trgovini jer se njime odvija gotovo 4/5 svjetskog prijevoza dobara. S obzirom na to važno je dosljedno primjenjivati zakonske odredbe i međunarodne propise kako bi se prijevoz stvari mogao odvijati sigurno i uredno. Važnu ulogu u prijevozu imaju ugovori o prijevozu stvari morem koji su ujedno i pravni temelj za obavljanje prijevozne usluge. Sklapanjem ugovora o prijevozu stranke definiraju sve bitne elemente prijevoza. U radu se daje prikaz pravnog okvira prijevoza stvari morem prema međunarodnim propisima.International regulations have always been upgraded to monitor the modern development of maritime affairs and the technology of transporting things by sea. Maritime transport is of paramount importance in world trade, as it takes place almost 4/5 of the world's transport of goods. In this regard, it is important to apply the legal provisions and international regulations consistently so that the transport of things can proceed safely and in an orderly manner. Contracts for the transport of things by sea play an important role in transport, which are also the legal basis for the performance of the transport service. By concluding the contract on transport, the parties define all the essential elements of transport. The paper presents the legal framework for the transport of things by sea according to international regulations
