Shipmaster's Role in the Collision of Ships
No full textPomorski promet ima važnu ulogu u gospodarskom i općem društvenom razvoju mnogih država obzirom na nižu cijenu i dostupnost. Danas se gotovo 4/5 ukupnog prometa u međunarodnoj trgovini obavlja pomorskim prijevozom. Promet na moru raste što nije sukladno s poboljšanjem sigurnosti plovidbe. Broj nesreća na moru i dalje raste, a time raste i rizik od pomorskih nesreća. Jedan od najčešćih nesreća na moru je sudar brodova. Iako je Međunarodna pomorska organizacija (eng. The International Maritime Organization, IMO) izdala različite smjernice u sprječavanju nesreća na moru, sudari brodova se i dalje događaju. Uloga zapovjednika broda je od presudne važnosti u slučajevima sudara. Zapovjednik upravlja brodom i posadom, odgovoran je za sigurnost broda i red na brodu, ovlašten je zapovijedati posadom i drugim osobama na brodu te je ovlašten kao zastupnik brodara u njegove ime poduzimati određene pravne poslove. U radu se nastoji analizirati uloga zapovjednika broda uslijed sudara te njegova prava i obveze.Maritime transport has a vital role in economic and general social development in many countries due to lower costs and higher accessibility. Today, approximately 4/5 of the global transportation occurs ships. Maritime traffic is growing, but this is not in line with improving navigation safety. Many maritime accidents continue to occur that pose a mayor safety risk. One of the most common risks in terms of maritime traffic is ship collision. Although the International Maritime Organization (IMO) has issued various direction to prevent accidents, but in reality, collision collisions still occur. The role of ship’s captain is crucial in the case of a ship collision. The captain manages and controls the ship and crew, is responsible for safety of the ship and order on the ship, is authorized to command the crew and other persons on the ship and is authorized as a representative of the owner to undertake certain legal affairs on his behalf. The paper tries to analyse the role of the ship's captain due to a collision and his rights and obligations

Porast uporabe kibernetičkih sustava poklapa se rastom kibernetičkih napada na pomorsku
industriju. Pomorska industrija nije u potpunosti spremna na moguće kibernetičke napade.
Brojni uređaji i sustavi na brodovima su podložni tim napadima. Zbog toga je IMO usvojio
rezoluciju o Menadžmentu pomorskog kibernetičkog rizika kojom se nastoji povećati
pomorska kibernetička sigurnost. Cilj ovog rada je promotriti sve utjecaje kibernetike na
razvoj pomorske djelatnosti i svakodnevnog poslovanja. U radu je opisano trenutačno
stanje pomorske industrije s obzirom na kibernetičku sigurnost uz širok pregled
potencijalnih prijetnji, počinitelja napada te organizacija koje stoje iza napadača.Cybernetic systems are ever more present and significant factor in maritime
industry. Spike in use of cybernetic systems is overlapping with significant rise of
cybernetic attacks on maritime industry. Maritime industry is not prepared for the
possibility of cybernetic attack. A number of devices and on board systems are exposed.
Therefore IMO expanded Maritime risk management system to include cybernetic attacks,
and ensure cybersecurity of critical infrastructure. This paper aims to review the influence
of cybernetics on development of maritime industry. The paper reviews the status of
maritime industry about security of cybernetic systems and environment, as well as actors,
threats and organizations which sponsor cybernetic attacks

No full textSuvremeno piratstvo predstavlja značajan problem današnjeg pomorstva. Taj fenomen zadržao se sve do današnjih dana. U geografskom smislu razlikuju se tri glavne geografske regije u kojima su se događale ili se događaju piratski napadi. Te regije su istočna i zapadna Afrika, jugoistočna Azija i latinska Amerika. U radu se analiziraju piratski napadi u geografskoj regiji zapadne Afrike, koja je trenutno najveće žarište piratskih napada u Svijetu.Modern piracy is a significant problem of today's maritime business. This phenomenon has persisted to this day. In geographical terms, there are three main geographical regions in which pirate attacks have taken place or are taking place. These regions are East and West Africa, Southeast Asia and Latin America. The paper analyzes pirate attacks in the geographical region of West Africa, which is currently the largest hotbed of pirate attacks in the world
Influence of hurricanes on navigation in the North Atlantic
No full textTropski cikloni, često zvani i uragani, su jedna od najintenzivnijih nepogoda na Zemlji karakterizirani spiralnim strujanjem zraka. Cilj ovog rada je opisati tropske ciklone, točnije njihovu fizikalnu strukturu i ustrojstvo, pojasniti terminologiju koja se za njih veže te prikazati klasifikaciju tropskih ciklona i uragana. S obzirom da je tema utjecaj uragana na plovidbu sjevernim Atlantikom, prikazani su neki od uragana koji su se u ovom bazenu javili u prošlosti, a čiji je utjecaj bio velik, odnosno koji su po nekom mjerilu bili ekstremi. Naposljetku, prikazan je i utjecaj tropskih ciklona i uragana na pomorce i plovidbu sjevernim Atlantikom, te je analiziran utjecaj globalnog zatopljenja na nastanak uragana u budućnosti.Tropical cyclones, often called hurricanes, are one of the most intense disasters on Earth characterized by spiraling air flow. The aim of this paper is to describe tropical cyclones, more precisely their physical structure and composition, to explain the terminology associated with them and to present the classification of tropical cyclones and hurricanes. Since the topic is the impact of hurricanes on navigation in the North Atlantic, some of the hurricanes that occurred in this basin in the past are presented, and whose impact was great or which were extremes by some measures. Finally, the impact of tropical cyclones and hurricanes on seafarers and navigation in the North Atlantic is presented, and the impact of global warming on formation of hurricanes in the future is discussed
Lubricants and their application on board - the example of the ship M/V Zadar
No full textMaziva predstavljaju različite kemijske tvari koje imaju specifična fizikalna i kemijska svojstva i koja se kao takva upotrebljavaju za podmazivanje. Osnovni zahtjevi koji se stoga postavljaju pred maziva uključuju potrebu smanjenja trenja između kliznih ploha, tj. ploha koje se nalaze pod određenim opterećenjem u međusobnom relativnom gibanju. Ona ujedno služe kako bi došlo do smanjenja trošenja strojnih dijelova, osiguranje zaštite od korozije te stvaranje naslaga i taloga zbog oksidacije i drugih kemijskih promjena. Unutar ovog rada obrađuju se maziva i njihova primjena na brodovima. Obrađena su osnovna svojstva maziva, njihova podjela, sustavi podmazivanja, te na samom kraju obrađen je primjer broda m/v Zadar.Lubricants are various chemicals that have specific physical and chemical properties and are used as such for lubrication. The basic requirements therefore set for lubricants include the need to reduce the friction between the sliding surfaces, i.e. the surfaces that are under a certain load in mutual relative motion. They also serve to reduce the wear of machine parts, provide protection against corrosion and the formation of deposits and deposits due to oxidation and other chemical changes. Within this paper, lubricants and their application on ships are discussed. The basic properties of lubricants, their division, lubrication systems are processed, and at the very end the example of the ship m/v Zadar is processed
Salvaging and extractive sunken objects in Croatian law
No full textU ovom završnom radu prikazuju se i analiziraju pomorskopravne odredbe o spašavanju, vađenju potonulih stvari i uklanjanju podrtina. Iako se radi o tri slična instituta postoje među njima značajne razlike. Iz tog razloga je na međunarodnom planu spašavanje i uklanjanje podrtina regulirano različitim međunarodnim konvencijama: Konvencijom o spašavanju iz 1989. godine i Konvencijom o uklanjanju podrtina iz 2007. godine. Pomorski zakonik Republike Hrvatske usklađen je s odredbama ove dvije međunarodne konvencije. Vađenje potonulih stvari dugo vremena potpadalo je pod institut spašavanja, međutim, Izmjenama i dopunama Pomorskog zakonika iz 2013. godine učinjena je jasna razlika između spašavanja, uklanjanja podrtina i vađenja potonulih stvari. Zakonske odredbe koje posebno reguliraju ova tri važna pomorskopravna instituta doprinijet će pravnoj sigurnosti.In this final paper, maritime law provisions on rescue, extraction of sunken items and removal of wrecks are presented and analyzed. Although these are three similar institutes, there are significant differences between them. For this reason, at the international level, the rescue and removal of wrecks is regulated by various international conventions: International Salvage Convention of 1989 and the Convention on the Removal of Wrecks of 2007. The Maritime Code of the Republic of Croatia is harmonized with the provisions of these two international conventions. The extraction of sunken items has long been under the institution of rescue, however, the 2013 Amendments to the Maritime Code made a clear distinction between rescuing, removing wrecks and retrieving sunken items. The legal provisions that specifically regulate these three important maritime law institutes will contribute to legal certainty

Rad sadrži detaljan opis povijesnog razvoja spomenutih brodova, njihove karakteristike, podjele, te kako pravilno i sigurno manipulirati RO-RO teretom. Navedene su i neke od najvećih pomorskih nesreća i katastrofa RO-RO putničkih brodova, te kako se u slučaju istih pravilno ponašati i kakve mjere sigurnosti treba poduzeti.„Historical development of RO-RO passenger ships“ is a final paper which processes history and definitions of RO-RO ships, passenger ships and RO-RO passenger ships. This work also contains detailed description of historical development of vessels that are already mentioned above, their characteristics and classifications and how to manipulate with RO-RO cargo safely and correctly. Some of the biggest maritime disasters and accidents of RO-RO passenger ships are listed in this work, how to act properly if we find ourselves in such situations, and which security measures should we undertake in those circumstances

U ovom radu istaknute su prednosti i važnost poslovnih informacijskih sustava za poslovanje. U radu se ističe da poslovni informacijski sustavi podižu razinu kvalitete poslovanja te da pomoću njih poduzeće bolje i učinkovitije obavlja svakodnevne radne zadatke. Economic and ecologic competitiveness of container shippers on alternate Asia - Europe routes
No full textIstraživanje provedeno u ovom diplomskom radu procjenjuje ekonomsku i ekološku konkurentnost kontejnerskih brodara na alternativnim prometnim pravcima pomorskog robnog toka Azija-Europa. Cilj istraživanja je ustanoviti razinu rentabilnosti pojedinih pravaca navedenog robnog toka kroz simultano uključivanje relevantnih ekonomskih indikatora te ekoloških indikatora održivog razvoja. Podaci upotrijebljeni u pisanju rada preuzeti su iz stručne literature i različitih izvora podataka. Korišteni modeli primjenjuju se na referentni brod Venta Maersk. Rezultati istraživanja sugeriraju da uvažavanjem eksternih troškova zagađenja zraka, konkurentnost prometnih pravaca nije zanemariva na barem jednom od alternativnih prometnih pravaca. Aplikativni doprinos rada očituje se u mogućnosti primjene kreiranog modela prilikom donošenja odluka o izboru prometnog pravca.This research aims to assess the economic and environmental competitiveness of alternative transport routes of the Asia-Europe container freight flow. The paper aims to estimate the level of profitability of each shipping route through the simultaneous inclusion of relevant economic and environmental indicators. Data used in the research are taken directly from professional literature and various data sources. The container vessel Venta Maersk was used to apply the model. Including air pollution external costs in the calculation, the results suggest that the competitiveness of alternative transport routes is not negligible on at least one of them. The applicative contribution of the model in the choice of the transport route decision-making is the main contribution of the paper

Bit uspješnog poslovanja je pri odabiru efikasne i učinkovite organizacijske strukture, koja je cilj svakom poduzeću. Kako bi se prepoznala potreba za određenim modelom ustroja, uzimaju se u obzir razni čimbenici koji utječu na sam izbor organizacijske strukture. Za poboljšanje poslovanja poduzimaju se razni poduhvati tj. projekti koji svojom implementacijom daju na vrijednosti samom poduzeću kao i zaposlenicima. Za određeni projekt se izabire voditelj projekta i projektni tim. Voditelj projekta, projektni menadžment, ima ključnu ulogu za odabir odgovarajuće projektne organizacijske strukture, te modela poslovanja, kao i implementaciju samoga projekta.In today´s business, the project organization is one that is used increasingly. The essence of successful business is in choosing an efficient and effective organizational structure, which is the goal of every company. Various factors influence in the right choice of organizational structure, where is a need for particular model of organization. To improve the business, various ventures are undertaken, ie projects that, through their implementation, give value to the company itself as well as to the employess. A project manager and a project team are selected for specific project. The project management is in charge in selecting the appropriate project organizational structure and business model, as well as the implementation od the projet itfelf
