Fluorescence study of the influence of centrifugation on graphene oxide dispersions in water and in tannic acid
Graphene oxide (GO) is acquiring a great interest in biomedicine, biotechnology and biochemistry due to its unique properties. However, GO layers are bound by van der Waals forces, which results in aggregation. An efficient dispersion of the aggregated nanostructures is crucial from an application viewpoint, hence eco-friendly procedures are pursued.
In this project, the potential of tannic acid (TA) as a GO dispersant in water has been investigated for the first time. Transmission electronic microscopy (TEM) was used to visualize the degree of GO exfoliation in the dispersions. To further assess TA dispersant capability, a fluorescent biomolecule, riboflavin, has been selected.
GO and TA cause a quenching effect on riboflavin fluorescence, which depends on the GO and TA concentration, the GO/TA weight ratio and the final centrifugation step that was found to be crucial. Multiple regression analysis has been used to determine the quenching constants for TA and GO simultaneously.
The GO-riboflavin interaction weakens upon centrifugation. This step, traditionally used to remove the nanomaterial aggregates, should be avoided to obtain a high GO concentration in the dispersions. This study paves the way towards the use of environmentally friendly dispersant agents instead of conventional organic solvents or synthetic surfactants to attain high-quality dispersions of carbon nanomaterials in water
Interview in Spain 6
The reemergence of China is changing the world, and that EU needs to develop a long-term approach based on research-based knowledge in order to engage strategically with an increasingly assertive China.
This dataset consists of a semi-structured interview with a person of Chinese nationality, carried out in Chinese and transcribed in Chinese language.</p
FootStep illusion_Eating disorders
The dataset consisted of measurements obtained in two Experiments from 73 female participants aged between 18 and 49 years old. In Experiment 1, we tested healthy women assigned to three groups based on self-reported Symptomatology of Eating Disorders as assessed by a questionnaire: Low (N=21), Medium (N=19), and High (N=18), In Experiment 2, we tested women with Anorexia Nervosa (N=15). We used self-report, body visualisation, and behavioural (gait) to measure the impact of exteroceptive auditory illusion signals on body image
Data to reproduce the analyses described in the manuscript: Acorn removal and seedling age determine oak (Quercus ilex L. and Q. suber L.) restoration outcome in ungulate-dominated Mediterranean environments
Description of the project
Context: In the face of anthropogenic global change, Mediterranean oak-dominated ecosystems confront increased biotic (ungulate herbivory) and abiotic (drought) stressors, compromising forest regeneration. Restoration measures are imperative to address this scenario.
Aims: This study assesses the impact of different mitigation measures on the survival and biochemical traits of two widespread Mediterranean oak species.
4. Description of the dataset
The dataset encompasses information from the planting of 300 Quercus seedlings in Cabañeros (Quercus ilex; N=200) and Doñana (Quercus suber; N=100), subjected to various treatments: cotyledon/acorn removal, seedling age (1 vs. 2-year-old), and herbivore protection (fenced vs. non-fenced).
Monthly measurements of the seedlings were conducted from February to September 2021. Each visit consisted of recording: the seedling survival status (alive vs. dead), the damage caused by biotic and abiotic stress agents and the identification of the main stress agent, namely wild boar, deer, rabbit, fungi, insect or drought.
We considered the main stress agent the one leading to the plant death, or, in the case of surviving seedlings, the one identified with the highest intensity score.
To compare seedling physiological leaf biochemical responses to different treatments and plant ages, several non-destructive measures of chlorophyll, anthocyanin and flavonoid concentrations and the nitrogen balance index (NBI) were taken using the leaf clamp fluorescence sensor Dualex ® TMScientific+, Force One. The Dualex measures were taken on 5 leaves previously marked, from top to bottom, only in alive seedlings.</p

The dataset comprises the frequency response analysis for samples of conductive Polylactic Acid (PLA)/ Carbon Black (CB) composite with different longitudes and printing directions.
All file names consist of three characters: nAx.dat
where n is a sequential number.
A can be A=L for Longitudinal, A=O for oblique and A=T for transversal printing
Finally, x=1 for length L1 in the related publication, x=2 for length L2 and x=3 for length L2.75
The data in the files are self-explanator
