    No full text
This study presents a novel approach to fabricating hydrogen-selective palladium membranes by continuous flowing electroless pore-plating, hereafter referred to as cf-ELP-PP. This procedure aims to significantly advance the manufacturing processes of dense membranes. In fact, the transition from traditional batch to continuous methods enhances production efficiency and membrane quality, thus being possible to reach improved hydrogen permeation capabilities. Particularly, these novel membranes exhibited a H2-permeance ranging between 3.29·10⁻⁴ and 4.77·10⁻⁴ mol m-2 s-1 Pa-0.5 with H₂/N₂ ideal separation factor greater than 10,000 for the entire set of experiments. This research also addresses key challenges related to the stability and efficiency of membranes, providing relevant insights for their operation during prolonged times even if unfavorable operating conditions are adopted. All these findings underscore the potential of cf-ELP-PP membranes for effective hydrogen purification in a wide variety of future industrial applications, aligning with the increasing demand for sustainable energy solutions. Moreover, the work also paves future enhancements in hydrogen production and separation processes by providing valuable insights for researchers in fields of materials science, chemical engineering, and renewable energy technologie

Cryptographic Migration Dataset: Pre-Quantum to Post-Quantum

    No full text
This dataset contains 800 Python code pairs illustrating migrations from pre-quantum to post-quantum cryptographic primitives. Each instance represents an independent migration case, including both the classical implementation and its quantum-resistant counterpart, validated through static and dynamic testing. The corpus is structured in seven categories covering the main families of applied cryptography: - Symmetric encryption (AES-128/3DES → AES-256) - Digital signatures (RSA, ECDSA, Ed25519 → Dilithium / SPHINCS+) - Key exchange (DH, ECDH, X25519 → Kyber1024) - Hash functions (MD5, SHA-1/2, BLAKE2 → SHA-3) - Message Authentication Codes (CMAC/HMAC → HMAC-SHA3-512) - Authenticated encryption (AES-GCM/CCM → ChaCha20-Poly1305) - Hybrid schemes (combinations of the above) Each record in the JSON Lines file includes the following fields: base_case_id, variation_id, migration_category, prequantum_algorithm, postquantum_algorithm, prequantum_code, postquantum_code, and description. The dataset was built iteratively using human-in-the-loop generation with a large language model (OpenAI o4-mini-high), producing batches of ten variations followed by manual curation. Every snippet was validated with a unified testing framework ensuring syntactic correctness and functional equivalence between pre- and post-quantum implementations. All examples were generated in Python and designed to be self-contained and reproducible, supporting research on cryptographic agility and LLM-assisted migration toward NIST-standardized PQC algorithms (Kyber, Dilithium, SPHINCS+)

Zr-modified USY zeolite as an efficient catalyst for the production of bio-jet fuel precursors from levulinic acid and furfural in the absence of solvent - Dataset

    No full text
The high potential of using levulinic acid and furfural as platform molecules for the production of oxygenated adducts suitable as precursors for SAF synthesis is studied through the aldol condensation of both molecules. The research is the first-time demonstration of solventless acid-catalysed levulinic acid/furfural aldol condensation. The catalytic performance of a commercial H-USY zeolite and two post-synthetic variations thereof, with different dealumination degree and Zr loading, is analyzed, aiming at tuning the acid catalytic properties. The catalyst with an almost complete Al removal accompanied by the highest Zr wt% (Zr-USY-2) gave the best results in terms of selective conversion of furfural, pointing out to the Lewis acid sites as the main active sites to promote the aldol condensation reaction. An experimental design allowed to identify the optimal LA/FAL molar ratio (9/ 1) and reaction temperature (140 ◦C), while catalyst loading presented a minor significance. The optimization of the reaction parameters allowed to achieve a maximum furfural conversion of 88 %, combined with a yield towards the desired C10 adducts of 55 %. Furthermore, despite the catalytic performance of this material is slightly impaired in consecutive reaction cycles, it can be recovered with a thermal regeneration step, indicating a good reusability

Understanding self-assembly across scales in BODIPY derivatives: from supramolecular aggregation in solution to optical-waveguiding crystalline materials

    No full text
Molecular self-assembly constitutes a useful tool to construct discrete and functional nanostructures with well-defined properties. Nevertheless, understanding supramolecular order in solution and its transmission to the solid state for the same scaffold remains challenging and the impact of this transition in the properties of the resulting supramolecular architectures is still underexplored, thus limiting the application of self-assembly in fields like organic electronics. Herein we explore the supramolecular aggregation process of a chiral BODIPY derivative in solution, their features in solid state, and its potential application as optical waveguide. In solution, this derivative follows a time-dependent self-assembly process, ultimately leading to aggregates of increasing dimensionality with propensity to precipitate, from which a certain degree of crystallinity can be inferred. The subsequent formation of single crystals confirms the preservation of key supramolecular features from solution to the solid state. Notably, the one-centimeter-long crystals obtained present active optical waveguiding behavior in the NIR with a remarkable optical loss coefficient, the first optical loss reported for BODIPY crystals. These results highlight the value of studying self-assembly across different scales and demonstrate the potential of BODIPY-based systems for the development of optical waveguides with remarkable performance. The dataset id organized in three main folders, including all the spectroscopic, xrd and optical waveguiding measurements, provided in tabular data and images forms.</p
