Ideological hegemony in IS research on environmental sustainability
International audienceThis paper critically examines ideological hegemony in Information Systems (IS) research on digital sustainability, particularly regarding environmental sustainability. While IS research largely promotes digital technologies as solutions to climate challenges, critical voices highlighting potential negative impacts remain marginal. Drawing on Critical Discourse Analysis (Wall et al., 2015), this study investigates dominant ideological assumptions shaping IS discourse and identifies overlooked perspectives. Through a critical literature review of top IS journals, we reveal a predominant techno-optimistic paradigm, emphasizing digital innovations’ environmental benefits while neglecting sustainability challenges such as rebound effects and emissions from digital infrastructures. Our findings indicate an imbalance in academic discourse, where alternative viewpoints questioning digital technologies' ecological impact are underrepresented. By challenging these assumptions, we aim to foster a more reflexive, inclusive, and pluralistic IS research landscape that better addresses the complexities of sustainability. This study contributes to broadening IS debates on digital sustainability beyond technological solutionism
Crowdfunding immobilier et gestion des risques : une approche juridique et managériale
FNEGE 4International audienceCrowdfunding platforms for real estate are expanding. They allow individuals to pool their money with other investors to finance real estate projects. However, it is important to remember that this type of investment carries significant risks—both endogenous, linked to the developer’s financial capacity and the various aspects of the real estate project, and exogenous, stemming from external environmental factors. Therefore, it is crucial that all concerned stakeholders implement risk management mechanisms. The purpose of this article is to present these mechanisms and provide recommendations to mitigate risks. To this end, this study draws on both applicable regulations and the literature in law and management sciences. It is also based on interviews conducted with actors involved in real estate crowdfunding to analyze the risk mitigation mechanisms implemented by these platforms.Les plateformes d'immobilier participatif se développent. Elles permettent de financer des projets immobiliers grâce à l'argent des particuliers. Il ne faut toutefois pas oublier que c’est un investissement qui comporte des risques forts à la fois endogènes, liés aux capacités financières du promoteur ainsi qu’aux différentes composantes du projet immobilier, et exogènes provenant de l’environnement extérieur au projet. Il devient donc urgent pour tous les acteurs concernés de mettre en place des dispositifs de gestion des risques. L’objectif de cet article est de présenter ces dispositifs et d’apporter des préconisations afin d’en minimiser les risques. À cette fin, l’étude mobilisera à la fois la réglementation applicable, mais également la littérature en droit et en sciences de gestion et se fondera sur des entretiens conduits auprès d’acteurs du crowdfunding immobilier pour analyser les mécanismes mis en place par les plateformes pour limiter le risque
The NFT revolution: how do stakeholders in the arts and luxury collectibles market react – resist or embrace?
FNEGE 4, ABS 2International audiencePurpose - The success of digital auctions for artworks has drawn attention to the use of nonfungible tokens (NFTs) in digital collectibles. The immutability, certificates of authenticity and traceability offered by NFTs are essential for selling digital artworks and luxury collectibles to ensure their uniqueness and authenticity. Despite growing interest in NFTs, more empirical research is required. This study aims to understand stakeholders’ perceptions of NFT acceptance in the arts and luxury collectibles markets. Design/methodology/approach - Based on the evolved grounded theory, the authors interviewed 14 NFT consumers, producers and intermediaries about their perceptions of this disruptive technology in the creative and luxury fields. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis. Findings - Drawing on the theory of active innovation resistance (AIR), the analysis reveals the challenges and opportunities related to this technology and the role of NFTs in supporting the digitalization of the arts and luxury collectibles market. Originality/value - To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this study is the first to examine the role of NFTs in the art and luxury collectibles markets using AIR theory. The results show that not all functional and psychological barriers persist during the NFT adoption process

Unravelling inter‐organisational collaboration to address the circular economy transitions: a systematic literature review
FNEGE 3, ABS 3International audienceThis study offers a systematic review of the growing body of literature about inter‐organisational collaboration initiatives that have arisen to deal with the circular economy transition. Indeed, circular economy transition is highly reliant on stakeholders' interaction in collaborative patterns, where organisations bring together specific knowledge and resources to overcome technical and economic constraints. Building on this awareness, an increasing number of studies furthered the understanding of circular economy from a meso‐level perspective and the need for systematisation has become evident. In response to the lack of general conceptualisation and characterisation of inter‐organisational collaboration initiatives, this article provides a clearer picture of the most common collaborative approaches discussed in the circular economy literature. As a result of the bibliometric and thematic content analysis of 78 scientific papers, we illustrate three thematic clusters and outline five dimensions to put forward a novel conceptual compass for circular economy ventures. Delving into circular partnerships, supply chains, and ecosystems, we offer a first systematisation of such a flourishing literature stream and suggest future avenues by handling several research questions for forthcoming studies. In terms of managerial implications, this study supports decision‐making by comparing different strategic approaches to address the circular economy transition in collaboration with firm's stakeholders
A Skill-Inspired Adaptive Fuzzy Control Framework for Symmetric Gait Tracking with Sparse Sensor Fusion in Lower-Limb Exoskeletons
International audienceThis paper presents a real-time framework for bilateral gait reconstruction and adaptive joint control using sparse inertial sensing. The system estimates full lower-limb motion from a single-side inertial measurement unit (IMU) by applying a pipeline that includes signal smoothing, temporal alignment via Dynamic Time Warping (DTW), and motion modeling using Gaussian Mixture Models with Regression (GMM-GMR). Contralateral leg trajectories are inferred using both ideal and adaptive symmetry-based models to capture inter-limb variations. The reconstructed motion serves as reference input for joint-level control. A classical Proportional–Integral–Derivative (PID) controller is first evaluated, demonstrating satisfactory results under simplified dynamics but notable performance loss when virtual stiffness and gravity compensation are introduced. To address this, an adaptive fuzzy PID controller is implemented, which dynamically adjusts control gains based on real-time tracking error through a fuzzy inference system. This approach enhances control stability and motion fidelity under varying conditions. The combined estimation and control framework enables accurate bilateral gait tracking and smooth joint control using minimal sensing, offering a practical solution for wearable robotic systems such as exoskeletons or smart prosthetics
A pursuit problem for squared Bessel processes
In this note, we are interested in the probability that two independent squared Bessel processes do not cross for a long time. We show that this probability has a power decay which is given by the first zero of some hypergeometric function. We also compute along the way the distribution of the location where the crossing eventually occurs
Le rôle de la digitalisation et du partage des connaissances sur la performance des entreprises françaises : exploration du rôle médiateur de la responsabilité des entreprises
FNEGE 4International audienceThe purpose of this study is to examine the impact of digitalization (DG) and knowledge sharing (KS) on the financial performance (FP) of French companies by examining the mediating role of corporate social responsibility (CSR). Based on a sample of 118 French companies and using structural equation modeling (PLSSEM), the study reveals that neither DG nor KS has a significant direct impact on FP. Furthermore, CSR plays a full mediating role in the relationship between DG and FP, indicating that a positive effect of DG on FP is exclusively due to the integration of CSR. In contrast, KS does not have a significant effect on FP, even with CSR as a mediator.El objetivo de este estudio es examinar el impacto de la digitalización (DG) y el intercambio de conocimientos (KS) en el rendimiento financiero (FP) de las empresas francesas, examinando el papel mediador de la responsabilidad socialempresarial (RSE). Basado en una muestra de 118 empresas francesas y utilizando el modelo de ecuaciones estructurales (PLS-SEM), el estudio revela que ni DG ni KS tienen un impacto directo significativo en el FP. Sin embargo, la RSE actúa como un mediador completo en la relación entre DG y FP, demostrando que el efecto positivo de DG sobre FP se da exclusivamente a través de la integración de la RSE. En cambio, el KS no tiene un efecto significativo en FP, incluso con RSE como variable mediadora.L’objectif de cette étude est d’analyser l’impact de la digitalisation (DG) et du partage des connaissances (KS) sur la performance financière (FP) des entreprises françaises, en examinant le rôle médiateur de la responsabilité sociale des entreprises (RSE). IKrNet: A Neural Network for Detecting Specific Drug-Induced Patterns in Electrocardiograms Amidst Physiological Variability
Monitoring and analyzing electrocardiogram (ECG) signals, even under varying physiological conditions, including those influenced by physical activity, drugs and stress, is crucial to accurately assess cardiac health. However, current AI-based methods often fail to account for how these factors interact and alter ECG patterns, ultimately limiting their applicability in real-world settings. This study introduces IKrNet, a novel neural network model, which identifies drug-specific patterns in ECGs amidst certain physiological conditions. IKrNet's architecture incorporates spatial and temporal dynamics by using a convolutional backbone with varying receptive field size to capture spatial features. A bi-directional Long Short-Term Memory module is also employed to model temporal dependencies. By treating heart rate variability as a surrogate for physiological fluctuations, we evaluated IKrNet's performance across diverse scenarios, including conditions with physical stress, drug intake alone, and a baseline without drug presence. Our assessment follows a clinical protocol in which 990 healthy volunteers were administered 80mg of Sotalol, a drug which is known to be a precursor to Torsades-de-Pointes, a life-threatening arrhythmia. We show that IKrNet outperforms state-of-the-art models' accuracy and stability in varying physiological conditions, underscoring its clinical viability
Guest Editorial: Emerging Trends in Safety-Critical Issues for Intelligent Automation Systems
Intelligent Automation Systems, such as automated storage and retrieval systems, self-driving vehicles, various types of autonomous robots, and autonomous workshop plants, act independently of direct human supervision. Their impact on society and human life will be significant. These automation systems are safety-critical, complex, and powerful with a higher-level functionality. Safety and reliability to perform their tasks safely and minimize failures is one of the key challenges and becomes costly and difficult to achieve. The development of novel safety and reliability technologies dealing with theoretical aspects and for intelligent automation systems has become a hot spot in recent years. With the novel safety and reliability technologies, the intelligent automation systems can detect system failures, identify operation risks, predict unknown safety hazards and vulnerabilities, and avoid situations that pose risks to humans, property, or the automation systems themselves. Recent developments confirm that there are still areas of research to be explored within the safety-critical approaches.This Special Issue on Emerging Trends in Safety-critical Issues for Intelligent Automation Systems of IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering (TASE) aims to present recent advances in theories, methods, and applications that address safety-critical challenges in autonomous intelligent systems. The objective is to compile state-of-the-art research that contributes to the development of resilient and trustworthy automation solutions in safety-sensitive scenarios. After a thorough and rigorous peer-review process, 27 high-quality articles were selected from numerous submissions worldwide.
