    FNEGE 2, ABS 3International audienceLearning is predicated on turning towards new ideas and competences, and thus turning away from previous practices. Thus, with learning comes its necessary twin: forgetting. It is a mixed bag of blessings, for individuals as well as for organizations. On the one hand, it is argued that organizational forgetting helps to prevent further reproduction of old pathologies. On the other, it may signify loss of communal identity and discontinuity. The managerialist turn under neoliberalism brought a dogma of imperative of constant change, which results in erosion and disintegration of structures and communities and undermines resistance. This article is focussed on the idea of learning differently, which incorporates forgetting but with an awareness and reflexivity of what is being lost. The curating of memory helps not just to preserve memories and knowledge but to rediscover the past for the needs of the present. Learning differently requires a thoughtful relationship with the past and may support regeneration, instead of linear change management

    Predicting the 3D structure of RNA is a significant chal- lenge despite ongoing advancements in the field. Although AlphaFold has successfully addressed this problem for proteins, RNA structure prediction raises difficulties due to fundamental differences between proteins and RNAs, which hinder direct adaptation. The latest release of AlphaFold, AlphaFold3, has broadened its scope to include multiple different molecules like DNA, ligands and RNA. While AlphaFold3 article discusses the results of the last CASP-RNA dataset, the scope of performances and the limitations for RNAs are unclear. In this article, we provide a comprehensive analysis of the performances of AlphaFold3 in the prediction of RNA 3D structures. Through an extensive benchmark over five different test sets, we discuss the performances and limitations of AlphaFold3. We also compare its per- formances with ten existing state-of-the-art ab initio, template-based and deep-learning approaches.     Global spillovers of taxation in the online advertising market. Theory and evidence from facebook

    FNEGE 2, ABS 3International audienceWe study the effect of corporate taxes on multinational digital platforms and the global online advertising market. Using a novel dataset of advertising prices and user product preferences from Facebook, jointly with international trade data, we show that an increase in the platform’s corporate tax rate in several countries had a sizeable effect on advertising prices therein. Given the platform’s two-sided and multinational structure, we also document substantial spillovers in the effects of ad prices across countries. The results are consistent with our theoretical model, which shows that, due to consumers’ limited tolerance for ads, the platform reduces the supply of ads to advertisers located in countries where it faces a higher tax rate

    [Éthique] Échantillonnages sur animauxInternational audienceTen novel Gram-negative, aerobic, non-sporulating, yellow-pigmented rod-shaped bacterial strains motile by gliding were isolated from marine organisms/environments in French Polynesia. Three of them designated as 190524A05c T , 190524A02b T and 190130A14a T were retrieved from orbicular batfish ( Platax orbicularis ) mucus. Online database comparisons using 16S rRNA amplicons resulted in over 95% similarity to the genus Tenacibaculum . Phylogenetic analyses based on 679 concatenated core protein sequences revealed that strains 190524A05c T , 190524A02b T and 190130A14a T showed the highest similarity to Tenacibaculum skagerrakense DSM 14836 T , Tenacibaculum xiamenense LMG 27422 T and Tenacibaculum holothuriorum S2-2 T , respectively. Digital DNA–DNA hybridization and average nt identity values between strains 190524A05c T , 190524A02b T and 190130A14a T and other type strains were less than 76.25 and 24.1%, respectively. The DNA G+C content was 31.48, 30.66 and 31.98 mol% for strains 190524A05c T , 190524A02b T and 190130A14a T , respectively. Menaquinone-6 was detected as the major isoprenoid quinone in these three strains. The major polar lipids (phosphatidylethanolamine and aminophospholipid) were similar to the chemotaxonomic profile of other species of the genus Tenacibaculum . Strain 190524A05c T contained summed feature 3 (comprising C 16:1 ω7c and/or iso-C 15:0 2-OH), iso-C 15:1 G, iso-C 15:0 and iso-C 17:0 3-OH as the major cellular fatty acids. Strain 190524A02b T contained summed feature 3 (comprising C 16:1 ω7c and/or iso-C 15:0 2-OH), iso-C 15:0 , iso-C 15:1 G and iso-C 17:0 3-OH as the major cellular fatty acids. Strain 190130A14a T contained iso-C 15:1 G, summed feature 3 (comprising C 16:1 ω7c and/or iso-C 15:0 2-OH), iso-C 15:0 and iso-C 17:0 3-OH as the major cellular fatty acids. Based on the phenotypic and molecular features, these three strains represent novel species of the genus Tenacibaculum for which the names Tenacibaculum platacis sp. nov., with 190524A05c T (= CIP 112470 T = DSM 118113 T ) as the type strain; Tenacibaculum vairaonense sp. nov., with 190524A02b T (= CIP 112469 T = DSM 118112 T ) as the type strain; and Tenacibaculum polynesiense sp. nov., with 190130A14a T (= CIP 112468 T = DSM 118111 T ) as the type strain, are proposed

    International audienceThis research extends our knowledge of flow state, explaining gamers’ microtransaction behavior in free-to-play mobile games. While microtransactions grew tremendously, how the flow state mingles with gamers’ microtransactions remains unclear. We study the direct relationship between the flow state on microtransactions by examining the mediating role of a) gamer impulse buying tendency and b) gamer loyalty in the relation between flow state and microtransactions. A total of two hundred and seven regular gamers participated following purposive and snowball sampling. The data were analyzed using a two-step structural equation model (SEM). Analyses of measurement data and structural models were conducted using the SmartPLS3 statistical package. The results confirm hno direct relationship between flow state and microtransaction, indicating the impulse buying tendency and gamer loyalty fully mediate the relationship between the flow state and microtransactions buying process. This study offers empirical support to explain the role of players’ impulse buying tendencies and gamer loyalty as critical factors influencing the flow state of microtransactions. Gamers are willing customers who pay for a more enjoyable and nuanced experience than the commonly held view that gamers are helpless victims of microtransactions. In generalizing findings to other subgenres, caution should be taken since the research framework was tested within free-to-play multiplayer online games

    Does resilience buffer the negative effects of tolerance of workplace incivility in the hospitality context?

    FNEGE 3, ABS 3International audienceThe present study examines the negative outcomes triggered by tolerance of workplace incivility, i.e., a reduced organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) and increased emotional exhaustion, which may seriously affect the performance of individuals and organizations in the hospitality sector. The study further seeks the mechanism through which the negative impact may be checked by considering the psychological contract violation as a mediator and resilience as a moderator. Through the online platform Prolific Academic, we evoked the COR theory to test the hypothesized relationships from the data from 329 hotel employees in the UK and USA. Utilizing PLS-SEM, the results show a positive and significant association between tolerance of workplace incivility and psychological contract violation. The present study's novelty signifies how psychological contract violation significantly mediates the relationship between tolerance of workplace incivility and OCB and between tolerance of workplace incivility and emotional exhaustion. Furthermore, another notable finding of the study is that resilience was not a significant moderator in the relationship between psychological contract violation and OCB and between psychological contract violation and emotional exhaustion. Our findings suggest a noteworthy cognizance of advancing the theoretical and practical application of tolerance of workplace incivility and psychological contract violation in hospitality organizations

    International audienceThis article presents materials from an ethnographical study conducted at a centre (Épide) that runs a state programme of employment integration in the greater Paris region. By combining observation notes and excerpts from semi-structured interviews with “volunteers for integration” and public sector workers, it explores how consent to a “military-inspired” discipline is formed. While the in-depth observation of volunteers learning “close order” sheds light on a form of disciplinary socialization rooted in social relations of race and class, the long-term study and semi-structured interviews show that they willingly consent to it in the hope of building a life of their choosing.El artículo presenta material extraído de un estudio etnográfico realizado en un centro del Etablissement public pour l'insertion dans l'emploi (Epide) situado en las afueras de París. Al combinar las notas de observación y los extractos de entrevistas semidirigidas con los «voluntarios de inserción» y el personal, el artículo examina el proceso de consentimiento a una disciplina denominada «de inspiración militar».     Optimal Formation Control for Autonomous Vehicles: A Bilayer Predefined-Time Fuzzy Reinforcement Learning Approach

    International audienceThis paper develops a bilayer predefined time fuzzy reinforcement learning (PT-FRL) control strategy to improve the efficiency of autonomous vehicle formation execution and reduce energy consumption. First, the fixed constraints of communication connectivity and collision avoidance are reconstructed into performance constraints, and normalized error mapping techniques are used to transform them into a new unconstrained error system. Then, based on the system, a cost function was constructed that balances cost control and performance. The control strategy adopts a bilayer architecture: In the first layer, a feedforward controller is designed to provide a more concise control object for subsequent PT-FRL controllers by compensating for known nonlinear coupling terms in advance, and can significantly reduce fuzzy logic systems computational load. and in the second layer, a PT optimal formation controller is designed using FRL to ensure that the autonomous vehicles complete the formation task within the predefined time. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method was verified through simulation and experiments
