No full text

Global-in-time Discontinuous Solutions for the Two-Phase Model of Compressible Fluids with Density-Dependent Viscosity

No full text
We are concerned with a model describing the motion of two compressible, immiscible fluids with density dependent viscosity in the whole R3\mathbb R^3 . The phases of the flow may have different pressure and viscosity laws and are separated by a sharp interface, across which the (total) density is discontinuous. Our goal is to study the persistence of the regularity of this sharp interface over time. More precisely, the dynamics of the flow are governed by three coupled equations: two hyperbolic equations (for the volume fraction of one phase and for the density) and a parabolic equation for the velocity field. We assume that, at the initial time, the density is α\alpha-Hölder continuous on both sides of a C1+α\mathscr{C}^{1+\alpha} regular surface across which it may be discontinuous. We prove the existence and uniqueness of a global-in-time weak solution in an intermediate regularity class that ensures the persistence of the piecewise Hölder regularity of the density and the $\mathscr{C}^{1+\alpha} regularity of the sharp interface

Comment travailler sur la campagne électorale ?

No full text
Drift estimation for rough processes under small noise asymptotic : QMLE approach

No full text
We consider a process X^ε solution of a stochastic Volterra equation with an unknown parameter θ in the drift function. The Volterra kernel is singular and given by K(u) = cu α-1 ½u>0 with α ∈ (1/2, 1) and it is assumed that the diffusion coefficient is proportional to ε → 0 Based on the observation of a discrete sampling with mesh h → 0 of the Volterra process, we build a Quasi Maximum Likelihood Estimator. The main step is to assess the error arising in the reconstruction of the path of a semi-martingale from the inversion of the Volterra kernel. We show that this error decreases as h^{1/2} whatever is the value of α. Then, we can introduce an explicit contrast function, which yields an efficient estimator when ε → 0.</div

Structurally Defined Synthetic Heparin Oligosaccharides Reveal Unique Signatures for Nanopore Sequencing of Gags

No full text
International audienceEfforts to fully understand the structure-to-function relationships of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) have been hampered by the complexity and polydispersity of GAGs and, more importantly, by the need for sensitive analytical techniques to discern their subtle structural motifs. Conventional analytical methods often fail to provide information on the sparse motifs of GAGs. Concurrently, nanopore-based analysis has shown great potential in GAGs structural analysis. Still, until now, it has been limited by the difficulty of relating ionic current changes to specific motifs. To address this, the present study allowed for obtaining reference signals by employing carefully designed synthetic sulfated tetra- to dodecasaccharides to allow precise sequence control and purity. Reference signals were obtained for specific motifs, paving the way for accurate motif recognition. The outcomes of the study demonstrated unequivocal recognition of specific GAG structures by monitoring the evolution of nanopore signals in response to the translocation of synthetic heparin (HP)-like oligosaccharides with controlled structures, allowing extensive structural discrimination. The findings highlight the nanopore's capability to detect subtle structural features, such as differences in sulfation patterns and epimerization of uronic acid. These results open the way to establishing detailed heparin (HP)-specific reference signals and to nanopore fingerprinting and sequencing of GAG

On well-posedness of stable-driven McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equations with Besov interaction kernel of non-positive regularity

No full text
We prove well-posedness results for time-inhomogeneous stable-driven McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equations with a convolution drift where the interaction kernel belongs to some Lebesgue-Besov space. The novelty of this work is that we manage to go below -1 in space regularity for such a kernel. This is achieved under additional smoothness conditions on the initial data and divergence conditions on the kernel. The proof heavily relies on a suitable product rule in Besov space. We prove smoothing properties of the law, which allow us to have the drift in a Lebesgue-Besov space of non-positive regularity

No full text

Performance-based dynamic event-triggered mechanism for state estimation

No full text
International audienceThis study proposed a dynamic event-triggered (ET) observer for nonlinear systems. The observer structure is characterized by the incorporation of a closed-loop inter-sample output predictor structure in the event-triggered mechanism (ETM). The design features two main characteristics. The first one is the asymptotic convergence of the observer with respect to the designed ETM. The second one is the Zeno-free behavior, both of them have been proven using Lyapunov theory. A simulation example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed observer
