    Great Britain in the second half of the 20th century

    Ovaj diplomski rad daje sveobuhvatnu analizu britanske povijesti od kraja Drugog svjetskog rata do kraja 20. stoljeća, fokusirajući se na premijerstva od Clementa Attleeja do Johna Majora. Rad je podijeljen u poglavlja koja detaljno opisuju mandat svakog premijera, s fokusom na gospodarsku, fiskalnu, socijalnu i vanjsku politiku. Neke od glavnih tema važne za ovo doba, poput dekolonizacije, raspoređene su kroz rad tako da čitatelj može lako pratiti procese kako se odvijaju kronološkim redom. Nakon uvodnog prvog poglavlja, drugo detaljno opisuje premijerski mandat Clementa Attleeja. Istražuje Attleejevu transformativnu poslijeratnu vladu koja je uspostavila modernu britansku socijalnu državu (welfare state) i nacionalizirala ključne industrije, te raspravlja o drugim velikim društvenim reformama koje su temeljito preoblikovale britansko društvo. Treće poglavlje detaljno opisuje "trinaest izgubljenih godina" vladavine Konzervativne stranke. Istražuje Churchillov povratak na vlast, njegove napore da održi globalni utjecaj Britanije i usredotočenost na obnovu gospodarstva, uz analizu Churchillova pristupa ranim hladnoratovskim tenzijama i prijelazu s ratnog vodstva na mirnodopsko upravljanje. Poglavlje se nastavlja s kratkim premijerskim mandatom Anthonyja Edena s najvećim fokusom na krizu u Suezu, premijerskim mandatom Harolda Macmillana s analizom temeljenom na njegovoj dekolonizaciji i ekonomskoj politici te kratkim premijerskim mandatom Aleca Douglas-Homea. Četvrto poglavlje govori o vladavini laburističke stranke s izuzetkom jednog konzervativnog mandata. Detaljno opisuje fokus Harolda Wilsona u kontekstu modernizacije, tehnološkog napretka i društvene reforme tijekom njegova dva neuzastopna mandata, borbe konzervativnog premijera Edwarda Heatha s ekonomskim problemima i industrijskim nemirima te neuspjeh Jamesa Callaghana u spašavanju Laburističke stranke od potpunog gubitka povjerenja javnosti. Peto poglavlje u potpunosti je posvećeno premijerskom mandatu Margaret Thatcher, uz detaljna objašnjenja njezine transformativne i kontroverzne politike, uključujući privatizaciju, deregulaciju, smanjenje moći sindikata i vanjsku politiku. Šesto poglavlje obuhvaća premijerski mandat Johna Majora, bavi se izazovima recesije, stranačkim podjelama i pitanjima kao što su sporazum iz Maastrichta. Sedmo poglavlje je u potpunosti je usmjereno na politički i privatni život kraljice Elizabete II., ističući njezinu ulogu u modernizaciji monarhije i utjecaj na britanski nacionalni identitet. Posljednje, osmo poglavlje, detaljno opisuje diplomatske i gospodarske odnose između Britanije i socijalističke Jugoslavije od kraja Drugog svjetskog rata do raspada Jugoslavije početkom 1990-ih.This thesis provides a comprehensive analysis of British history from the end of the Second World War to the end of the 20th century, focusing on the prime ministers from Clement Attlee to John Major. The work is divided into chapters that describe in detail the mandate of each prime minister, with a focus on economic, fiscal, social and foreign policy. Some of the major themes important to this era, such as decolonization, are arranged throughout the work so that the reader can easily follow the processes as they unfolded in chronological order. The first chapter details Clement Attlee's tenure as prime minister. Explores Attlee's transformative post-war government that established the modern British welfare state and nationalized key industries, and discusses other major social reforms that fundamentally reshaped British society. Chapter Two details the "thirteen lost years" of Conservative Party rule. Explores Churchill's return to power, his efforts to maintain Britain's global influence and focus on economic recovery, while analyzing Churchill's approach to early Cold War tensions and the transition from wartime leadership to peacetime governance. The chapter continues with Anthony Eden's brief prime ministership with a major focus on the Suez crisis, Harold Macmillan's prime ministership with analysis based on his decolonization and economic policies, and Alec Douglas-Home's brief prime ministership. The third chapter tells about the rule of the Labor party with the exception of one Conservative mandate. It details Harold Wilson's focus on modernization, technological progress and social reform during his two consecutive terms, Conservative Prime Minister Edward Heath's struggle with economic problems and industrial unrest, and James Callaghan's failure to save the Labor Party from a complete loss of public confidence. Chapter 4 is devoted entirely to Margaret Thatcher's premiership, with detailed explanations of her transformative and controversial policies, including privatisation, deregulation, union de-powering and foreign policy. Chapter five covers John Major's prime ministership, dealing with the challenges of the recession, party divisions and issues such as the Maastricht Treaty. The sixth chapter is entirely focused on the political and private life of Queen Elizabeth II, highlighting her role in the modernization of the monarchy and the impact on British national identity. The last, seventh chapter, describes in detail the diplomatic and economic relations between Britain and socialist Yugoslavia from the end of the Second World War to the breakup of Yugoslavia in the early 1990s

    Ancient archaeological legacy of Sisak

    Sisak je jedan od rijetkih gradova koji je poznat po svojoj stalnosti makrolokacije i toponima te urbanom kontinuitetu. Njegov urbani kontinuitet uvjetovao je polaganje suvremene arhitekture u gradu na antičkim gradskim ostatcima. Arheološka istraživanja terena Siska i okolice često otkrivaju geografske, društvene, gospodarske, kulturne i povijesne značajke grada koje iznova potvrđuju navedene karakteristike urbanog kontinuiteta. Kroz takva arheološka istraživanja, ali i slučajne pronalaske, dolazimo do važnih otkrića iz perioda antike koja nadopunjuju historiografiju i topografiju antičke Siscije. Ovaj rad prikazat će ulogu amaterskih i stručnih istraživača antičke Siscije do kraja 19. stoljeća te će njihova otkrića povezati s pojedinim novijim otkrićima 21. stoljeća. Navest ćemo ključne istraživače koji su začeli arheološku djelatnost u Sisku te su svojim metodama istraživanja započeli proces usustavljivanja ukupnog korpusa arheološkog naslijeđa antičke Siscije, poput Luigija Fernanda Marsiglija, Adama Baltazara Krčelića, Matije Petra Katančića, Mijata Sabljara i drugih. Metodom usporedbe arheoloških izvješća u razdoblju od 16. do kraja 19. stoljeća koja su nam dostupna i relevantna s novijim, suvremenim arheološkim istraživanjima prikazat ćemo poveznicu među polazišnom i krajnjom točkom arheološke misli o antičkoj Sisciji, čime ćemo naglasiti važnost uloge arheologa amatera i sisačkih pionira arheologije koji čine temelj u razvijanju vizije antičkog života u Sisciji i danas.The city of Sisak is one of a few cities that is known for it's macrolocational, toponymic and urban continuity. This urban continuity has caused the building of modern architecture on top of ancient city remains. Archaeological research often shows geographical, social, economic, cultural and historic characteristics of Sisak, which confirm the urban continuity traits. That archaeological research, along with accidental findings, helps us get to important discoveries of the ancient era that fullfill the ancient historiography and topography of Siscia. This thesis will present the role of amateur and professional explorers of ancient Siscia up to the end of the 19th century and will connect their discoveries to some new ones of the 21st century. We will name crucial explorers that have developed archaeology in Sisak and that have started the process of systemization within the complete archaeological legacy corpus of ancient Siscia, such as Luigi Fernando Marsigli, Adam Baltazar Krčelić, Matija Petar Katančić, Mijat Sabljar and others. By comparison we will present the link between the starting and the ending point of archaeological ideas of ancient Siscia, using relevant and accessible archaeological research reports. This will accentuate the importance of the role of amateur archaeologists and pioneers of Siscian archaeology that make the today's foundation of developing a vision of ancient life in Siscia

    The impact of artificial intelligence on contemporary journalism

    Cilj istraživanja ovog diplomskog rada bio je utvrditi percepciju studenata komunikologije i novinarstva o utjecaju umjetne inteligencije na tradicionalnu novinarsku profesiju. Nastojalo se ispitati što studenti misle o utjecaju umjetne inteligencije na aspekt društvene odgovornosti medija, profesiju novinara te obrazovanje novinara. Kvantitativnom metodom online ankete prikupljena su mišljenja 153 studenta i studentice komunikologije i novinarstva u periodu od 07. srpnja do 09. kolovoza 2024. godine. Rezultati ukazuju na to da studenti smatraju kako umjetna inteligencija negativno mijenja tradicionalnu novinarsku profesiju, međutim ne postoji dovoljno dokaza koji upućuju na to da studenti komunikologije i novinarstva smatraju kako uporaba umjetne inteligencije više doprinosi medijima kao industriji, nego novinarstvu kao društveno odgovornoj struci. Na temelju dobivenih podataka ne može se zaključiti kako studenti komunikologije i novinarstva smatraju da uporaba umjetne inteligencije više ugrožava posao novinara, nego što ga olakšava. Najveći konsenzus studenata je oko toga da studiji komunikologije i novinarstva trebaju dati kvalitetnije obrazovanje u umjetnoj inteligenciji u novinarstvu te se iz rezultata može iščitati kako obrazovanje na istraživanu temu nije bilo adekvatno.The aim of this thesis was to determine the perceptions of communication and journalism students regarding the impact of artificial intelligence on the traditional journalism profession. The study sought to explore students' opinions on the influence of artificial intelligence on the social responsibility aspect of the media, the journalism profession, and the education of journalists. Through a quantitative method using an online survey, opinions were collected from 153 communication and journalism students between July 7 and August 9, 2024. The results indicate that students believe artificial intelligence negatively alters the traditional journalism profession; however, there is insufficient evidence to suggest that the use of AI contributes more to the media as an industry than to journalism as a socially responsible profession. Based on the data obtained, it cannot be concluded that communication and journalism students perceive the use of AI as more of a threat to journalism jobs than a benefit. The greatest consensus among students is that communication and journalism studies should provide higher-quality education on the use of artificial intelligence in journalism, and the results suggest that the education on this topic has not been adequate

    Suicide in relation to gender and marital anomie

    Ovaj rad analizira na koji način utječe spol, ali i bračna anomija na stope samoubojstva, koristeći se analizom sekundarne literature i istraživanja. Prije analize samih istraživanja, potrebno je prikazati teorije koje se bave samoubojstvom kao društvenim fenomenom, ali i one koje se bave rodnim teorijama. Jedan od glavnih socioloških autora koji je definirao samoubojstvo, a osvrnuo se značajno i na spol i na utjecaj bračne anomije na ovu pojavu, bio je Emile Durkheim. Osim njega, prikazali smo i teorije autora Quetelet i Morselli koji su prethodili Durkheimu. Također smo prikazali i radove mlađih autora koji su se bavili specifično tematikom samoubojstva po spolu, od kojih su neki Lester, Canetto i Moscicki. Od autora koji su se bavili rodnom teorijom, a koja bi nam pomogla analizirati rodne uloge koje se postavljaju na muškarce i žene, prikazali smo Simon de Beauvoir i Pierrea Bourdieua i njegovu teoriju habitusa. Istraživanja koja smo analizirali radila su se specifično na teritoriju Republike Hrvatske te nam pokazuju da postoji jasna povezanost između bračnog statusa, spola i stopa samoubojstava. Prikazana istraživanja nam također prikazuju točnost navedenih teorija. Rad naglašava potrebu za dodatnim istraživanjima i intervencijama koje bi smanjile jaz između stopa samoubojstava između muškaraca i žena, ali i omogućila muškarcima da zatraže profesionalnu pomoć u slučajevima kada je ona potrebna.This paper analyzes how gender and marital anomie influence suicide rates by using secondary literature and research analysis. Before delving into the analysis of the research itself, it is necessary to present the theories that address suicide as a social phenomenon, as well as those that deal with gender theories. One of the main sociological authors who defined suicide and significantly addressed both gender and the influence of marital anomie on this phenomenon was Emile Durkheim. In addition to him, we also presented the theories of authors Quetelet and Morselli, who preceded Durkheim. We also highlighted the works of more recent authors who specifically dealt with the topic of suicide by gender, including Lester, Canetto, and Moscicki. From the authors who focused on gender theory, which would help us analyze the gender roles imposed on men and women, we presented Simone de Beauvoir and Pierre Bourdieu and his theory of habitus. The research we analyzed was conducted specifically in the territory of the Republic of Croatia and shows that there is a clear connection between marital status, gender, and suicide rates. The presented research also demonstrates the accuracy of the mentioned theories. The paper emphasizes the need for further research and interventions that would reduce the gap between suicide rates among men and women and enable men to seek professional help when needed

    Instagram in fashion industry on the example of three Italian luxury brands

    Način na koji luksuzni modni brandovi koriste Instagram, kao i ostale društvene mreže, nesumnjivo utječe na percepciju potrošača i njihovu želju za posjedovanjem prestižnih proizvoda. Predmet su istraživanja ovoga rada komunikacijske strategije korištene na Instagram profilima triju talijanskih modnih brandova, Gucci, Prada i Versace, s nakanom da se utvrdi obraćaju li se navedeni modni brandovi isključivo kupcima visoke kupovne moći, zadržavajući time ekskluzivnost, ili se otvaraju širem krugu korisnika, pokazujući dostupnost dijela svojih proizvoda. U istraživanju je korištena kvantitativna te kvalitativna metoda prikupljanja podataka, a podatci su evidentirani s pomoću metode Russmannove i Svenssona (2016), koja se temelji na četirima klasterima. Obuhvaćene su objave navedenih modnih brandova na službenim Instagram profilima tijekom tromjesečnog razdoblja (siječanj – ožujak 2024), analizirani su vizualni elementi (s pomoću podjele na klasične i ekspresivne S. Kusumasondjaja, 2019) i tekstualni elementi objava, potom broj lajkova i komentara koji ih je pratio. Rezultati istraživanja potvrdili su da se luksuzni modni brandovi primarno obraćaju kupcima visoke kupovne moći (objavljujući sadržaj koji uključuje luksuzne proizvode i ekskluzivne događaje), ali i da istovremeno koriste komunikacijske strategije kojima se obraćaju široj publici (prikazujući pristupačnije proizvode poput parfema i sunčanih naočala). Time se pokazalo da analizirani luksuzni modni brandovi izborom svojih komunikacijskih strategija balansiraju između očuvanja prestiža i privlačenja šire publike, što je jedna od ključnih strategija za održavanje relevantnosti i angažmana na digitalnim platformama.The way luxury fashion brands use Instagram, as well as other social networks, undoubtedly affects consumer perception and their desire to own prestigious products. This study examines the communication strategies employed on the Instagram profiles of three Italian fashion brands, Gucci, Prada, and Versace with the aim of determining whether these brands exclusively target high-spending customers, thereby maintaining exclusivity, or if they are opening up to a broader user base by showcasing the accessibility of some of their products. The research utilized both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods, with data recorded using the Russmann and Svensson (2016) method, which is based on four clusters. The posts from the aforementioned fashion brands on their official Instagram profiles during the three-month period (January – March 2024) were analyzed, including visual elements (classified into classical and expressive as per S. Kusumasondjaja, 2019) and textual elements of the posts, as well as the number of likes and comments they received. The research results confirmed that luxury fashion brands primarily target high-spending customers (by publishing content that includes luxury products and exclusive events), while also simultaneously employing communication strategies that address a broader audience (by showcasing more accessible products such as perfumes and sunglasses). This demonstrates that the analyzed luxury fashion brands, through their chosen communication strategies, balance between maintaining prestige and attracting a wider audience, which is one of the key strategies for maintaining relevance and engagement on digital platforms

    Event management in tourist destination promotion example of Slavonia and Baranja

    U današnjem globaliziranom svijetu postoji rastuća potražnja za novim turističkim destinacijama i događajima koji privlače pažnju. Ovaj rad analizira organizaciju događaja kao jednog od ključnih faktora u razvoju turističkih destinacija, s posebnim naglaskom na Slavoniju i Baranju. Cilj je istražiti kako organizacija i promocija događaja mogu povećati broj turista u ovim regijama te unaprijediti njihov turistički, društveni i ekonomski razvoj. Iako je Hrvatska poznata po priobalnom turizmu, unutrašnja područja zemlje, kao što su Slavonija i Baranja, još nisu dovoljno prepoznata. Rad se sastoji od teorijskog i istraživačkog dijela. Teorijski dio omogućuje dublji uvid u pojmove organizacije događaja i turizma te njihove međusobne povezanosti. Isto tako, istražuje se potencijal razvoja turističke destinacije Slavonije i Baranje. S druge strane, istraživački dio rada uključuje anketno ispitivanje stavova ispitanika o utjecaju događaja na odluku o posjeti određenoj situaciji te mogućnostima razvoja Slavonije i Baranje kao turističke destinacije. Istraživanje je provedeno između veljače i travnja 2024. godine, a anketni se upitnik dijelio putem društvenih mreža i bio je otvoren za sve dobne skupine i stanovnike Republike Hrvatske. Rezultati istraživanja pokazali su da organizacija i promocija događaja mogu značajno unaprijediti turističke destinacije Slavonije i Baranje. Nedostatna medijska pokrivenost, nedovoljno privlačna turistička ponuda i nedostatak smještajnih kapaciteta ograničavaju posjećenost. Ulaganja u infrastrukturu, modernizaciju marketinških strategija i uključivanje atraktivnih sadržaja za mlade ključni su za povećanje turističke privlačnosti regija.In today's globalized world, there is a growing demand for new tourist destinations and events that capture attention. This master thesis analyzes event management as one of the key factors in the development od tourist destinations, with a special focus on Slavonia and Baranja. The aim is to discover how the organization and promotion of events can increase the number of tourists in these regions and enhance their tourist, social and economic development. Altough Croatia is known for its coastal tourism, the contitental areas of the country, such as Slavonia and Baranja, are still not sufficiently recognized. The thesis consists of theoretical and research parts. The theoretical part provides a deeper insight into the concepts of event management and tourism, as well as their interconnection. It also explores the potential for the development of Slavonia and Baranja as tourist destinations. On the other hand, the research part includes a survey examining respondents' attitudes about the impact of events on their decision to visit a particular location and the possibilities for the development of Slavonia and Baranja as tourist destinations. The research was conducted between February and April 2024, and was distributed via social networks. It was open to all age groups and residents of Croatia. The results showed that event management and promotion of events can significantly improve the tourist destinations of Slavonia and Baranja. Insufficient media coverage, an inadequately attractive tourist offer, and a lack of acommodation capacities limit visitor numbers. Investments in infrastructure, modernization of marketing strategies, and inclusion of attractive content for young people are key to increasing the tourist appeal of the regions

    Attitudes of the students of the Faculty of Croatian Studies from the University of Zagreb about the first decade of Croatia's membership in the European Union

    Diplomski rad fokusira se na istraživanje stavova studenata Hrvatskih studija prema Europskoj uniji (EU) u kontekstu proslave 10. obljetnice ulaska Hrvatske u EU. Glavni cilj istraživanja je razumjeti koliko su studenti pozitivno orijentirani prema članstvu Hrvatske u EU, te kako percipiraju utjecaj EU na različite aspekte života u zemlji, poput gospodarskog razvoja, europskog identiteta, suradnje s ostalim članicama, te sudjelovanja u kulturnim i obrazovnim programima. Istraživanje će analizirati stavove studenata o članstvu Hrvatske u EU kroz nekoliko ključnih aspekata. Prvo, bit će istražena percepcija gospodarskog razvoja kao rezultata članstva, uključujući utjecaj na tržište rada, investicije i opći ekonomski rast. Drugo, istražit će se europski identitet studenata, odnosno koliko se osjećaju dijelom šire europske zajednice. Treće, bit će razmotrena suradnja Hrvatske s ostalim članicama EU, s naglaskom na političku i kulturnu suradnju. Osim toga, rad će se baviti i percepcijom obrazovnih i kulturnih programa koje nudi EU, kao što su Erasmus+ i drugi programi za mlade. Poseban fokus bit će na ispitivanju pristupačnosti informacija o EU i percepciji potrebe za poboljšanjem edukacije studenata o programima koje EU nudi mladima. Korištenjem online ankete tijekom proljeća 2024., istraživanje će prikupiti kvantitativne podatke kako bi se dublje razumjela percepcija studenata o članstvu Hrvatske u EU. Cilj je identificirati ključna područja za unapređenje informiranosti i edukacije studenata o europskim temama te mogućnostima koje EU pruža mladima.The Master’s work focuses on research into the attitudes of Croatian students towards the European Union (EU) in the context of the celebration of Croatia’s 10th anniversary of Croatia’s accession to the EU. The main objective of the research is to understand the positive orientation of students towards Croatia’s EU membership and how they perceive the EU’s influence on different aspects of life in the country, such as economic development, European identity, cooperation with other members, and participation in cultural and educational programmes. The survey will analyse students’ attitudes towards Croatia’s EU membership across several key aspects. First, the perception of economic development as a result of membership will be explored, including the impact on the labour market, investment and overall economic growth. Secondly, the European identity of students will be explored, i.e. how much they feel part of the wider European community. Thirdly, Croatia’s cooperation with other EU Member States will be considered, focusing on political and cultural cooperation. In addition, the work will also address the perception of educational and cultural programmes offered by the EU, such as Erasmus+ and other youth programmes. A particular focus will be on examining the accessibility of EU information and the perception of the need to improve students’ education on the programmes the EU offers to young people. Using an online survey in spring 2024, the survey will collect quantitative data to better understand students’ perceptions of Croatia’s EU membership. The aim is to identify key areas for improving students’ awareness and education on European topics and the opportunities that the EU provides to young people

    Population as a Key Factor in the National Security of Republic of Croatia

    Dokument se bavi sveobuhvatnom analizom nacionalne sigurnosti s posebnim naglaskom na kontekst Republike Hrvatske. Nacionalna sigurnost promatra se kao dinamičan koncept koji uključuje političke, demografske, ekonomske, ekološke i tehnološke aspekte. Rad istražuje uspostavu i razvoj sustava domovinske sigurnosti u Hrvatskoj, koji omogućava koordinirano djelovanje državnih institucija u odgovoru na suvremene sigurnosne prijetnje poput kibernetičkih napada i prirodnih katastrofa. Analiziraju se demografski izazovi, uključujući negativne trendove poput depopulacije i starenja stanovništva, te mjere koje Hrvatska poduzima kako bi potaknula demografsku obnovu. Ekonomska sigurnost istaknuta je kao temelj za očuvanje suvereniteta i teritorijalnog integriteta, uz poseban naglasak na inovacije i industrijski razvoj. Rad se također bavi suvremenim prijetnjama poput terorizma, organiziranog kriminala i cyber kriminala, te ukazuje na važnost međunarodne suradnje u suočavanju s ovim izazovima. Pitanje migracija razmatra se kroz prizmu društvene kohezije i nacionalne sigurnosti, dok je očuvanje nacionalnog identiteta, jezika i kulture identificirano kao ključno za dugoročnu stabilnost. Zaključno, dokument naglašava da je nacionalna sigurnost kompleksan i sveobuhvatan proces koji zahtijeva stalnu prilagodbu, inovaciju i suradnju kako bi se učinkovito odgovorilo na suvremene izazove i osiguralo dugoročno očuvanje vitalnih interesa države.The document provides a comprehensive analysis of national security, with a particular focus on the context of the Republic of Croatia. The study examines the establishment and development of the homeland security system in Croatia, which enables coordinated action by state institutions in responding to contemporary security threats such as cyber-attacks and natural disasters. It analyzes demographic challenges, including negative trends like depopulation and aging populations, as well as the measures Croatia is taking to encourage demographic renewal. Economic security is highlighted as a foundation for preserving sovereignty and territorial integrity, with a particular emphasis on innovation and industrial development. The document also addresses contemporary threats such as terrorism, organized crime, and cybercrime, underscoring the importance of international cooperation in confronting these challenges. The issue of migration is considered through the lens of social cohesion and national security, while the preservation of national identity, language, and culture is identified as crucial for long-term stability.     Life coaching predstavlja holistički pristup cocahinga u kojemu klijent procjenjuje i ispituje vlastiti život, a zatim sustavno uz pomoć coacha provodi promjene koje mu poboljšavaju život. Kako je pružanje usluga life coachinga u porastu, cilj je ovog rada istražiti njegov doprinos u održavanju mentalnog zdravlja i ispitati razlike stavova te intenziteta i vremena praćenja life coachinga na društvenim mrežama između ispitanika koje primaju usluge life coachinga te onih koji ne primaju. Istraživanje je provedeno na 295 ispitanika, od kojih je 52 korisnika usluga life coachinga, koji su prikupljani pomoću online ankete. Asimptomatskih osoba koje nisu koristile usluge life coachinga u ovome je istraživanju 49,3%, sa subkliničkim simptomima 25,4%, simptomatskih 15,4% te iznimno simptomatskih 10%, dok je na uzorku korisnika usluga life coachinga, asimptomatskih ispitanika 59,6%, sa subkliničkim simptoma 19,2%, simptomatskih je 9,6% te iznimno simptomatičnih 11,5 %. Pritom između osoba koje su koristile usluge life coacheva i onih koji nisu nema statistički značajne razlike s obzirom na rezultat na Upitniku općeg zdravlja (GHQ-12), ali korelacije pokazuju kako ispitanici koji su duže koristili usluge life coachinga, imaju manje poteškoća s mentalnim zdravljem. Što se tiče stavova prema life coachingu, korisnici usluga statistički značajno duže i intenzivnije prate life coacheve na društvenim mrežama te više smatraju kako im savjeti dobiveni tim putem pomažu. Također, informacije dobivene od strane life coacheva uzimaju s manjom dozom opreza, imaju snažnije uvjerenje kako su life coachevi bolje upućeni u mentalno zdravlje od psihologa, psihoterapeuta i psihijatara te bi svojim bližnjima kojima je potrebna stručna pomoć češće preporučili life coacheve. Nadalje, uvjereniji su kako life coachevi trebaju naplaćivati svoje usluge te da savjeti dobiveni od objava na društvenim mrežama life coacheva mogu biti zamjena za psihološku pomoć. Međutim, navedene se grupe statistički značajno ne razlikuju s obzirom na stav prema tvrdnji da svatko može prepoznati je li mu potreban life coaching ili psihoterapija na koju je većina ispitanika odgovorila kako se uglavnom ne slažu s navedenom tvrdnjom (41,9%).Life coaching represents a holistic approach to coaching in which the client evaluates and examines his own life, and then systematically implements changes that improve his life with the help of a coach. As the provision of life coaching services is increasing, the aim of this master's thesisis is to examine the contribution of life coaching in maintaining mental health and to examine the differences in attitudes, the intensity and time of following life coaching on social networks between respondents who receive life coaching services and those who do not. Data was collected through an online questionnaire filled out by 295 respondents, of whom 52 are users of their services. In this study, 49.3% of asymptomatic persons who did not use life coaching services, 25.4% with subclinical symptoms, 15.4% symptomatic and 10% extremely symptomatic, while in the sample of users of life coaching services, there were 59.6% asymptomatic respondents, subclinical symptoms are present in 19.2% of service users, 9.6% are symptomatic, and 11.5% are extremely symptomatic. At the same time, there is no statistically significant difference between people who used services of the life coaches and those who did not with regard to the result on the General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12). However, the correlations show that respondents who have used life coaching services for a longer period of time have fewer difficulties with mental health. As for the attitudes towards life coaching, statistically significant differences between people who used the services of life coaches and those who did not were obtained on several items. In particular, service users follow life coaches on social networks for longer and more intensively, and they believe that the advice received through this means is more helpful. Also, they take it with less caution, they believe that life coaches are better versed in mental health than psychologists, psychotherapists and psychiatrists, and they are more likely to recommend life coaches to their loved ones who need professional help. Futhermore, they are more convinced that life coaches should charge for their services and that advice obtained from posts on social networks of life coaches can be a substitute for psychological help. However, the aforementioned groups do not differ statistically significantly with regard to the attitude towards the statement that everyone can recognize whether they need life coaching or psychotherapy, to which the majority of respondents answered that they mostly disagree with the statement (41.9%)

    Ovaj rad analizira retoriku sudionika televizijskih sučeljavanja tijekom parlamentarnih izbora u Hrvatskoj 2024. godine, s posebnim naglaskom na upotrebu verbalne i neverbalne komunikacije. Važnost retorike, koja potječe još iz antičke Grčke, relevantna je i danas. U godini obilježenoj kao „superizborna“ godina, održavaju se parlamentarni, europski i predsjednički izbori, a važnu ulogu u pobjedi određene političke opcije mogu imati i dobre retoričke vještine te kvalitetno izvedena televizijska sučeljavanja. S obzirom na izazovne globalne okolnosti i polarizirana društvena razmišljanja, ispravna politička komunikacija i uspješno vođenje političkih kampanja postaju prioritet za sve političke aktere. Uz moć suvremenih medija i brzinu širenja informacija te mogućnost svakog glasača da se detaljno informira, prostor za pogreške u javnim nastupima političara značajno se smanjuje. Rezultati istraživanja pokazuju kako su predstavnici političkih stranaka tijekom sučeljavanja koristili različite retoričke strategije, ovisno o njihovim političkim ciljevima i pozicijama. Oporbene stranke, poput SDP-a, Možemo!, Mosta i Domovinskog pokreta, uglavnom su se služile napadačkim strategijama, dok su predstavnici HDZ-a primjenjivali obrambene strategije kako bi istaknuli svoje rezultate i umanjili kritike. Provedeno istraživanje dalo je odgovore na pitanje na koji način predstavnici stranaka svojim nastupom žele ostaviti bolji dojam na gledatelja, oko kojih pitanja se stvaraju najveće rasprave te kako izgleda diskreditiranje protivnika. Generalni zaključak rada je da izvedbe političkih predstavnika nisu značajno odstupale od postignutih rezultata. Također, istraživanje je pokazalo da su argumentirane rasprave između političkih aktera različitih ideoloških orijentacija i stranačke pripadnosti moguće, što na kraju može utjecati na neodlučne birače.This thesis analyzes the rhetoric of participants in televised debates during the parliamentary elections in Croatia in 2024, with a particular focus on the use of verbal and non-verbal communication. The importance of rhetoric, which dates back to ancient Greece, remains relevant today. In a year marked as a “super-election” year, with parliamentary, European, and presidential elections taking place, good rhetorical skills and well-executed televised debates can play a crucial role in securing victory for a particular political option. Given the challenging global circumstances and polarized social views, effective political communication and successful campaign management have become priorities for all political actors. With the power of modern media, the rapid dissemination of information, and the ability for every voter to become well-informed, the margin for error in public appearances by politicians is significantly reduced. The research results show that representatives of political parties employed different rhetorical strategies during the debates, depending on their political goals and positions. Opposition parties, such as SDP, Možemo!, Most, and DP, predominantly used attack strategies, while representatives of HDZ employed defensive strategies to highlight their achievements and minimize criticism. The conducted research provided answers to how party representatives aim to leave a better impression on viewers, which issues generate the most debates, and how opponents are discredited. The general conclusion of the paper is that the performances of political representatives did not significantly deviate from the achieved results. Additionally, the research indicated that well-argued debates between political actors of different ideological orientations and party affiliations are possible, which can ultimately influence undecided voters
