CITIZENS' OPINIONS AND ATTITUDES ABOUT THE POLICE
U ovom istraživanju analizirao se odnos između policije i građana grada Splita, s posebnim
fokusom na percepciju sigurnosti, povjerenje u policiju te radne uvjete i motivaciju policijskih
službenika. Istraživanje se sastojalo od ankete provedene među 500 građana Splita te
polustrukturiranih intervjua s policijskim službenicima. Policija, kao ključna javna služba
Ministarstva unutarnjih poslova, ima zadatak zaštite života, prava, sigurnosti i imovine građana, te
sprečavanja i otkrivanja kaznenih djela. Dužnosti policijskih službenika uključuju poštivanje
dostojanstva i prava svakog pojedinca, a ključna svrha institucionalizacije policije je očuvanje
sigurnosti i zadovoljavanje društvenih potreba kroz prevenciju društvene devijantnosti. Istraživanje
pokazuje da iako građani prepoznaju važnost policijskog rada, postoji potreba za povećanjem
vidljivosti policije i boljom komunikacijom. Građani izražavaju zabrinutost zbog percepcije
policije kao isključivo represivne institucije, dok policijski službenici prepoznaju potrebu za većom
vidljivošću i boljem upravljanju resursima. Rezultati ankete otkrivaju mješovite osjećaje građana
prema policiji, uključujući prepoznavanje profesionalizma u kriznim situacijama, ali i zabrinutost
zbog nedostatka transparentnosti. Policajci ističu važnost profesionalnog integriteta,
komunikacijskih vještina i ljubaznosti u oblikovanju percepcije građana. Iako su općenito
zadovoljni radnim uvjetima i mogućnostima profesionalnog razvoja, naglašavaju izazove s kojima
se suočavaju, uključujući osjećaj izoliranosti i stres. Javna percepcija policije oblikovana je
stereotipima i predrasudama, što može utjecati na povjerenje građana i učinkovitost policije. Stoga
je ključno razumjeti izazove s kojima se policija suočava te raditi na poboljšanju odnosa između
policije i zajednice. Preporučuje se povećanje vidljivosti policije kroz češće patrole i javne
događaje, te uvođenje obrazovnih programa za građane. Ovo istraživanje pruža osnovu za daljnji
razvoj strategija za unapređenje odnosa između policije i građana, povećanje sigurnosti i
zadovoljstva u zajednici.This research analyzed the relationship between the police and the citizens of the city of Split, with
a special focus on the perception of safety, trust in the police, and the working conditions and
motivation of police officers. The research consisted of a survey conducted among 500 citizens of
Split and semi-structured interviews with police officers. The police, as a key public service, has
the task of protecting the lives, rights, safety and property of citizens, as well as preventing and
detecting criminal offences. The duties of police officers include respect for the dignity and rights
of every individual, and the key purpose of the institutionalization of the police is to preserve safety
and meet social needs through the prevention of social deviance. The research shows that although
citizens recognize the importance of police work, there is a need to increase the visibility of the
police and better communication. Citizens express concern about the perception of the police as an
exclusively repressive institution, while police officers recognize the need for greater visibility and
better management of resources. The results of the survey reveal mixed feelings of citizens towards
the police, including recognition of professionalism in crisis situations, but also concern about the
lack of transparency. Police officers emphasize the importance of professional integrity,
communication skills and kindness in shaping the perception of citizens. Although they are
generally satisfied with working conditions and opportunities for professional development, they
highlight the challenges they face, including feelings of isolation and stress. The public perception
of the police is shaped by stereotypes and prejudices, which can affect the trust of citizens and the
effectiveness of the police. Therefore, it is crucial to understand the challenges facing the police
and work to improve the relationship between the police and the community. It is recommended to
increase the visibility of the police through more frequent patrols and public events, and the
introduction of educational programs for citizens. This research provides a basis for further
development of strategies to improve police-citizen relations, increase safety and satisfaction in the
communit
INTENSIFICAZIONE DEGLI AGGETTIVI: ANALISI CONTRASTIVA ITALIANO-CROATA
L’intensificazione rappresenta un fenomeno linguistico che accomuna tutti gli strumenti, nonché strategie linguistiche contribuenti all’amplificazione del significato di un elemento lessicale. Si tratta di un fenomeno che investe non soltanto il livello morfologico, ma anche quello semantico e pragmatico, rafforzando oppure indebolendo la forza referenziale di un enunciato. Benché l’intensificazione si presenti come un fenomeno transcategoriale che può essere associato a tutte le classi grammaticali – ammesso che possano essere in qualche modo graduate – sono giustappunto gli aggettivi, parte del discorso intrinsecamente scalare, la categoria lessicale più coinvolta nel suddetto processo. Il presente lavoro propone un sintetico approfondimento delle strategie di intensificazione degli aggettivi riguardanti il livello della morfologia (prefissazione; suffissazione; elativo) e della sintassi (modificazione tramite avverbi; costruzioni biaggettivali; numerali; ripetizione/reduplicazione). Contemporaneamente alle indispensabili premesse di natura teorica, le strategie citate vengono contestualizzate elencando numerosi esempi degli aggettivi italiani intensificati assieme ai loro equivalenti croati. Tenendo presente la natura comparativa del contributo, si procede alla presentazione dei risultati della ricerca sugli intensificatori in un dizionario bilingue italiano-croato e nei corpora digitali delle due lingue. L’attenzione è rivolta, in particolar modo, alla strategia di modificazione mediante gli avverbi: avvalendosi delle funzionalità offerte dal software SketchEngine, viene illustrata la frequenza di numerosi avverbi italiani e, rispettivamente, croati, mentre in seguito, consapevoli dell’importanza del contesto comunicativo in cui sono usati le suddette parti del discorso, vengono offerti gli esempi d’uso tratti da fonti web.Intensification represents a linguistic phenomenon that unites all tools, as well as
linguistic strategies contributing to the amplification of the meaning of a lexical element.
It is a phenomenon that affects not only the morphological level, but also the semantic
and pragmatic one, strengthening or weakening the referential force of an utterance.
Although intensification presents itself as a transcategorial phenomenon that can be
associated with all grammatical classes – assuming they can be graded in some way –
adjectives, an intrinsically scalar word class, represent the lexical category most involved
in the aforementioned process. This work proposes a synthetic analysis of the adjective
intensification strategies regarding the level of morphology (prefixation; suffixation;
absolute superlative) and syntax (modification through adverbs; bi-adjective
constructions; numerals; repetition/reduplication). While discussing the indispensable
premises of a theoretical nature, the strategies cited are contextualized by listing
numerous examples of the intensified Italian adjectives together with their Croatian
equivalents. Keeping in mind the comparative nature of the contribution, the results of
the research on intensifiers in an Italian-Croatian bilingual dictionary and in the digital
corpus of the two languages are presented. Attention is paid, in particular, to the
modification strategy using adverbs: employing the functionalities offered by the
SketchEngine software, the frequency of numerous Italian and Croatian adverbs is
illustrated and later, having in mind the importance of the communicative context in
which the aforestated parts of speech are used, examples of use taken from web sources
are offered
PERCEPTIONS OF STUDENTS AT THE FACULTY OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES IN SPLIT ABOUT SEXUAL HARASSMENT OF WOMEN
Ovaj rad ispituje percepcije studenata i studentica Filozofskog fakulteta u Splitu o seksualnom uznemiravanju žena. Teorijski dio rada obuhvaća definicije seksualnog nasilja i uznemiravanja te analizira društvene i rodne dinamike koje pridonose toj pojavi. Naglašava se da seksualno uznemiravanje može biti verbalno, fizičko ili neverbalno te da se može dogoditi u raznim okruženjima. U radu se također razmatraju reakcije i posljedice uznemiravanja, uključujući emocionalne, psihološke i fizičke učinke na žrtve. Empirijski dio temelji se na istraživanju provedenom putem online upitnika u kojem su sudjelovali studenti prijediplomskih, diplomskih i integriranih prijediplomskih i diplomskih razina svih odsjeka navedenog fakulteta.
Rezultati pokazuju da su studentice osjetljivije na procjenu ozbiljnosti verbalnog oblika seksualnog uznemiravanja u usporedbi sa studentima. Studentice imaju izraženiju percepciju da su žene češće izložene seksualnom uznemiravanju na ulici u odnosu na studente. Studenti i studentice također različito percipiraju reakciju žena na situacije uznemiravanja – studentice smatraju da žene doživljavaju jače emocionalne reakcije, poput bijesa. Razlike u rodnim stavovima izražene su i prikladnih kazni za počinitelje, studentica iskazuju stavove koji naginju prema strožim kaznama za razliku od studenata. Zaključno, istraživanje naglašava potrebu za daljnjom edukacijom i jačim institucionalnim mehanizmima za prevenciju seksualnog uznemiravanja.This paper examines the perceptions of male and female students at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split about sexual harassment of women. The theoretical part of the paper includes definitions of sexual violence and harassment and analyzes the social and gender dynamics that contribute to this phenomenon. It is emphasized that sexual harassment can be verbal, physical or non-verbal and can occur in various settings. The paper also considers the reactions and consequences of harassment, including the emotional, psychological and physical effects on victims. The empirical part is based on research conducted through an online survey on a sample of undergraduate, graduate and integrated undergraduate and graduate students of all departments of the said faculty.
The results show that female students are more sensitive to assessing the severity of verbal sexual harassment compared to male students. Female students have a more pronounced perception that women are more often exposed to sexual harassment on the street compared to male students. Male and female students also perceive women's reaction to harassment situations differently - female students believe that women experience stronger emotional reactions, such as anger. Gender differences are also expressed regarding appropriate punishments for perpetrators, female students express attitudes that lean towards stricter punishments, unlike male students. In conclusion, the research emphasizes the need for further education and stronger institutional mechanisms for the prevention of sexual harassment
THE ATTITUDES OF STUDENTS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SPLIT TOWARDS HEALTHY DIET
Prehrana uključuje osim nutritivnih i kulturološka, emocionalna te estetska zadovoljstva. Zbog užurbanog i zahtjevnog dnevnog ritma studentskog života često neki od navedenih aspekata prehrane budu potisnuta i izazivaju pad kvalitete života te moguće i zdravstvene probleme kod pojedinaca. Istraživačka pitanja i stavovi čine online anketu kojom je provedeno istraživanje stava studenata o zdravoj prehrani. Sudionici su upoznati s ciljevima rada te je provedena anketa anonimna. Google obrazac online upitnika je izrađen unutar domene - Filozofski fakultet u Splitu. Istraživanje je provedeno u kolovozu/rujnu 2022. godine. Sastav uzorka je ispitan i razvrstan u tri glavne skupine: 1. prema spolu, dobi i fakultetu, 2. prema parametrima životnog okruženja (stanovanje, mjesto odrastanja, zaposlenje, život s roditeljima, stupanj obrazovanja roditelja, stav o imovinskom stanju) 3. prema stavovima o prehrani. Na stav o prehrani utječe socioekonomski status i način studentskog života. Nema razlike u stavovima između spolova. Studenti Splitskog Sveučilišta pokazuju svijest o zdravoj prehrani, kao i razvijen identitet u vezi prehrane.Nutrition includes, in addition to food, cultural, emotional and aesthetic pleasures. Due to the hectic and demanding daily rhythm of student life, some of the mentioned aspects of nutrition are often suppressed and cause a decline in the quality of life and possible health problems in individuals. Research questions and attitudes form an online survey that was conducted to examine students' attitudes about healthy eating. The participants were informed about the objectives of the work, and the survey was conducted anonymously. The online questionnaire Google form was created within the domain - Faculty of Philosophy in Split. The research was conducted in August/September 2022. The composition of the sample was examined and classified into three main groups: 1. according to gender, age and university, 2. according to the parameters of the living environment (residence, place of upbringing, employment, living with parents, level of education of parents , attitude about property status) 3. according to attitudes about nutrition. Attitudes about nutrition are influenced by students' socioeconomic status and lifestyle. There is no difference in attitudes between the sexes. Students at the University of Split show awareness of healthy eating, as well as a developed identity in terms of nutrition
Physical planning in Croatia between 1955 and 1975 and Lefebvre's theory of the production of space
U disertaciji se prostorno planiranje u Hrvatskoj od 1955. do 1975. godine razmatra kao
istovremena sinteza različitih disciplinarnih diskursa te način na koji država teritorijalizira
vlastitu razvojnu politiku. Istraživanje je uspostavljeno kroz analizu prevladavajućih prostornoplanerskih
diskursa i praksi te analizu administrativne, društvene i političke artikulacije
državnoga teritorija. Uz opsežan pregled sekundarnih izvora i referentne literature, u fokusu je
istraživanje sačuvane arhivske građe Urbanističkog instituta Hrvatske (UIH) te, manjim
dijelom, Urbanističkog zavoda Dalmacije. Organizaciju državnog teritorija i pojedine vidove
hrvatskih prostorno-planerskih praksi, izvedene iz prostorno-planerske dokumentacije i drugih
izvora, autor teorijski interpretira kroz radove francuskog teoretičara prostora Henrija
Lefebvrea (1901. - 1991.) te srodnih suvremenih teoretičara prostora i urbanizacije.
Disertacija je strukturirana u šest poglavlja. Prvo poglavlje uvodi u temu, hipotezu i
metodologiju istraživanja te poslijeratni međunarodni urbanistički i prostorno-planerski
kontekst.
Drugo se poglavlje bavi modelima teritorijalizacije državne politike koji se temelje na
komunalnim i ekonomskim reformama. Iz takvoga razmatranja proizlazi periodizacija
teritorijalne organizacije: lokacijska regionalizacija (1945. - 1955.), kotarska regionalizacija
(1955. - 1965.) i međukomunalna regionalizacija (1965. - 1975.). Ova periodizacija predstavlja
povijesni okvir istraživanja.
U trećem poglavlju navedena regionalizacija je teorijski sagledana iz perspektive Lefebvreove
teorije proizvodnje prostora, njegove kritike države, kritike strukturalizma i tehnokracije, kao i
njegovih djela vezanih za koncepte dijalektike centraliteta, arhitekture užitka i kolektivnoga
luksuza. Dok se prva skupina teorijskih koncepata odnosi na interpretaciju državnoga modela
teritorijalne organizacije, druga skupina se odnosi i na pojedine pojave i karakteristike hrvatskih
prostorno-planerskih praksi poput planiranja jadranske obale.
U četvrtome poglavlju analiziran je razvoj prostornog planiranja u Hrvatskoj i to kroz tri
razdoblja (prijelazno, formativno i diskurzivno) koja kronološki prate već utvrđenu

periodizaciju teritorijalne organizacije. Unutar ovog poglavlja obrađene su studije pojedinih
prostornih planova čijom su analizom prostorno-planerske prakse i diskursi dovedeni u odnos
s političkim i društvenim zbivanjima, ali i međunarodnim prostorno-planerskim praksama.
Peto poglavlje donosi korpus u kojem je obrađeno devet regionalnih i jedan republički prostorni
plan, što predstavlja ukupan broj prostornih planova te vrste izrađenih u Hrvatskoj između
1955. i 1975. godine. Planovi su sadržajno opisani kroz osam ujednačenih kategorija
(organizacija, prostorni obuhvat, metodologija, ciljevi, koncepcija, provedba, vezani planovi i
grafički prilozi), što omogućuje usporedbu i cjelovit pregled hrvatskih prostorno-planerskih
pristupa na kraju ovoga poglavlja.
Zaključno, šesto poglavlje donosi pregled novih uvida u ideološku i političku određenost
državnoga prostora i s njime povezan razvoj prostornoga planiranja u Hrvatskoj, djelovanje
pojedinih planera važnih za osnivanje discipline, kao i teorijski okvir kroz koji se prostor i
prostorno-planerske prakse interpretiraju. Autor smatra da ti uvidi predstavljaju nužna polazišta
budućih povijesnih i teorijskih istraživanja te kritičkih razmatranja kontinuiteta i diskontinuiteta
u razvoju nacionalnoga prostora i prostorno-planerske discipline.Physical planning in Croatia between 1955 and 1975 and Lefebvre’s theory of the
production of space
In this doctoral dissertation, the author analyzed physical planning in Croatia from 1955 to
1975, by bringing together different disciplinary discourses and the model of spatialization of
state politics. The research was based on the simultaneous analysis of the prevailing physical
planning discourses and practices, and the administrative, social, and political articulation of
the state territory. Alongside the extensive review of secondary sources and reference literature,
the author focused on the research of archival resources of the Urban Planning Institute of
Croatia and the Urban Planning Institute of Dalmatia. The organization of the state territory and
certain aspects of Croatian physical planning were theoretically framed through the work of the
French theorist Henri Lefebvre (1901-1991) and related contemporary spatial and urbanization
theorists.
The dissertation is structured in six chapters. The first chapter introduced the theme, hypothesis,
research methodology and provided international context to postwar urban and physical
planning practices.
The second chapter examined the models of territorial organization based on communal and
economic reforms. The periodization of the territorial organization is as follows: locational
regionalization (1945-1955), district regionalization (1955-1965), and inter-communal
regionalization (1965-1975). This periodization represents the historical framework of the
research.
In the third chapter, each period was theoretically observed from the perspective of Lefebvre's
theory of the production of space, his critique of the state, structuralism, and technocracy; as
well as his concepts of the dialectics of centrality, the architecture of pleasure and collective
luxury. While the former concepts refer to the theoretical framing of the state mode of the
territorial production, the latter concepts also pertain to certain phenomena of Croatian urban
and physical planning practices, such as the physical planning of the Adriatic coast.

In the fourth chapter, the author discussed the initial formation and development of the planning
discipline in Croatia, organized in three periods which chronologically correspond to the
abovementioned historical periodization: transitional period (1945-1955), formational period
(1955-1965) and discursive period (1965-1975). Herein, the author also brought specific
planning practices and discourses (technocratic, scientific, social, and ecological) into relation
with the broader Yugoslav socio-political context and international urban and physical planning
tendencies.
The fifth chapter outlined nine regional plans and one national physical plan, which is the total
number of this type of physical plans produced in Croatia between 1955 and 1975. The content
of each plan was structured and presented in eight categories: organization, spatial coverage,
methodology, goals, conception, implementation, related urban plans and graphic materials.
This structure provided an overview of the Croatian physical planning practices in the given
period and enabled the comparison of the plans.
In conclusion, the sixth chapter provides a summary of the insights into the ideological and
political formation of the state space, as well as the associated physical planning practices in
Croatia. The chapter casted light on the work of several individual planners’ contribution to the
disciplinary foundations. The author believes that these insights can be a starting point for the
future theoretical and historical research and critical reflection on the continuity and
discontinuity in the development of the national territory and physical planning discipline
UPORABA DIGITALNIH ALATA U ODGOJNO-OBRAZOVNOM RADU S DJECOM PREDŠKOLSKE DOBI
Kao posljedica razvoja digitalne tehnologije, bilježi se značajan porast interesa za digitalnom tehnologijom u predškolskom obrazovanju. Djeca današnjice odrastaju u okruženju sofisticirane tehnologije, što zahtijeva promjenu pristupa u procesima učenja, odgoja i obrazovanja. Predškolske ustanove suočavaju se s transformacijom koja nezaustavljivo prožima svakodnevni život djece predškolske dobi. Odgojitelj mora posjedovati digitalne kompetencije kako bi integrirao digitalne tehnologije i alate u neposredan odgojno–obrazovni rad tijekom planiranja, promatranja, vrednovanja i dokumentiranja procesa učenja djece predškolske dobi. U odgojiteljskoj praksi često se postavljaju mnogobrojna pitanja koja se odnose na rad s djecom u digitalnom okruženju te na komunikaciju i suradnju s roditeljima. Roditelji, kao primarni odgojitelji, imaju presudnu ulogu u formiranju iskustava svoje djece s digitalnim medijima. Ovaj rad pridonosi sveobuhvatnom razumijevanju kompleksnosti integracije digitalne tehnologije u predškolskoj ustanovi, naglašavajući nužnost prilagodbe odgojno-obrazovnih pristupa suvremenim zahtjevima digitalne ere. Korištenje kvalitetnih digitalnih alata u odgojno-obrazovnom radu unapređuje kvalitetu odgoja i obrazovanja djece, jer se značajno obogaćuje iskustvo učenja djece, podupirući istovremeno njihov razvoj na raznim poljima. U suradnji s roditeljima potrebno je osigurati sigurnosti i privatnost djece, što su i ključni aspekti etičkog kodeksa. Usmjeravanjem djeteta prilikom korištenja tehnologije, mogu se spriječiti potencijalne opasnosti. Prepoznajemo važnost cjeloživotnog učenja odgojitelja te edukaciju roditelja, kako bi se uspješno nosili sa stalnim promjenama u tehnologiji. Ovo nije krajnje odredište, već početak putovanja prema stalnom usavršavanju, dijalogu i prilagodbi, s ciljem stvaranja obrazovnog okruženja koje najbolje odražava potrebe djece u digitalnom dobu.As a result of the development of digital technology, there has been a significant increase in interest in digital technology in preschool education. Today, children are growing up in an environment of sophisticated technology, which requires a change in approach to the processes of learning, upbringing, and education. Preschool institutions are facing a transformation that permeates the daily lives of preschool children. Educators must possess digital competencies to integrate digital technologies and tools into immediate educational work during planning, observation, evaluation, and documentation of the learning processes of preschool children. In educational practice, numerous questions often arise regarding working with children in a digital environment and communication and collaboration with parents. Parents, as primary educators, play a crucial role in shaping their children's experiences with digital media. This work contributes to a comprehensive understanding of the complexity of integrating digital technology into preschool institutions, emphasizing the necessity of adapting educational approaches to the contemporary demands of the digital era. The use of high-quality digital tools in educational work enhances the quality of children's education, significantly enriching their learning experience and simultaneously supporting their development in various fields. In collaboration with parents, it is necessary to ensure the safety and privacy of children, which are key aspects of the ethical code. By guiding children in the use of technology, potential dangers can be prevented. Recognizing the importance of lifelong learning for educators and parent education is crucial to successfully dealing with constant changes in technology. This is not the final destination but the beginning of a journey towards continuous improvement, dialogue, and adaptation, with the goal of creating an educational environment that best reflects the needs of children in the digital age
POBOŽNOST I VJERSKI CEREMONIJAL U SREDNJOVJEKOVNOM SPLITU
Ovaj rad istražuje pobožnost i vjerski ceremonijal u srednjovjekovnom Splitu, s
naglaskom na njihovu ulogu u društvenom i duhovnom životu grada. Pobožnost nije bila
samo izraz osobne duhovnosti, već i javni čin koji je oblikovao svakodnevne aktivnosti,
rituale i zajedničke vrijednosti. Split je bio duboko prožet religioznim aktivnostima koje su
obuhvaćale politiku, javne ceremonije i privatne obrede. Crkva je imala ključnu ulogu u
oblikovanju moralnih i etičkih normi, djelujući kao vrhovni autoritet. Kroz milosrdne legate,
zamjenska hodočašća i sudjelovanje u bratovštinama, vjernici su ne samo izražavali svoju
predanost vjeri, već su istovremeno uspostavljali i održavali tradicije.
Rad se fokusira na štovanje svetaca koji su imali, a imaju i danas, važnu ulogu u vjerskom
životu Splita. To su mučenici sveti Staš, Arnir, Feliks, a posebno se ističe splitski zaštitnik
sveti Dujam. Također analizira ulogu Bogorodice, čiji kult postaje iznimno važan na prijelazu
iz srednjeg u novi vijek. Drugi, glavni dio rada posvećen je ceremonijalu Feste sancti Domnii
i analizi pisanih izvora u kojima nalazimo legate ad pias causas, koji istražuju kako su se
oblikovale vjerske prakse u srednjovjekovnom Splitu, čuvajući i razvijajući njegov kulturni i
vjerski identitet. Analiza gradskog statuta i usporedba sa statutima drugih dalmatinskih
gradova pruža uvid u specifičnosti vjerskih praksi, dok djela srednjovjekovnih kroničara
dopunjuju razumijevanje povijesnog konteksta. Završni dio rada bavi se utjecajem društvenopolitičkih
čimbenika na promjene u iskazivanju pobožnosti.This paper explores piety and ceremonial practices in medieval Split, with a focus on
their role in the social and spiritual life of the city. Piety was not only an expression of
personal spirituality but also a public act that shaped daily activities, rituals, and shared
values. Split was deeply immersed in religious activities that encompassed politics, public
ceremonies, and private rituals. The Church played a key role in shaping moral and ethical
norms, acting as the supreme authority. Through charitable legacies, substitute pilgrimages,
and participation in brotherhoods, believers not only expressed their devotion to faith but also
established and maintained traditions.
The paper focuses on the veneration of saints who had, and still have, an important role in the
religious life of Split. These include the martyrs St. Staš, Arnir, and Felix, with a special
emphasis on the city’s patron saint, St. Domnius. Additionally, it analyzes the role of the
Virgin Mary, whose cult became highly significant during the transition from the medieval to
the early modern period. The second, main part of the paper is dedicated to the ceremonial
practices of the Feast of St. Domnius and the analysis of material sources such as charitable
legacies, which examine how religious practices were formed in medieval Split, preserving
and developing its cultural and religious identity. An analysis of the city’s statutes, compared
to those of other Dalmatian cities, provides insight into the specific religious practices of the
region, while the works of medieval chroniclers supplement our understanding of the
historical context. The final part of the paper deals with the influence of socio-political
factors on changes in the expression of piety
ORAL LITERATURE AND TRADITIONAL CULTURE OF BROCE AND STON AREA
Pelješko selo Broce jedan je od predstavnika bogate, ali nedovoljno istražene tradicijske kulture.
Usmenoknjiževni elementi Broca očituju se u običajima, vjerovanjima i u seoskoj tradiciji koja se
prenosi praksom, prepričavanjem, održavanjem i ponavljanjem rituala koji oblikuju tradicijsku kulturu
jednoga sela. Sustav bratovština i razni artefakti koji se nalaze u starim građevinama i sakralnim
objektima ključni su dokazi za razumijevanje tradicionalnoga načina života u ovome kraju. U sakralnu
baštinu Broca ubrajaju se crkve, kapele i kapelice. Vjerska zdanja važna su mjesta okupljanja i
duhovnoga života mjesne zajednice. Rezultat je toga bogata crkveno-pučka baština kojoj pripadaju
različiti kulturni i vjerski običaji. Prema svjedočanstvima starijih stanovnica i stanovnika Broca,
održavale su se procesije kroz selo i bile su organizirane razne svečanosti. Svetkovine su važne prigode
koje su okupljale Bročane i Bročanke, ali i ljude iz ostalih mjesta, najčešće iz Stona i okolnih sela.
Broce se nalaze na početku istočnoga dijela poluotoka Pelješca i u geografskome, povijesnome i
u kulturnome kontekstu vezane su uz grad Ston, koji je zastupljen u literaturi zahvaljujući povijesnomu
značaju i važnosti u Dubrovačkoj Republici. Područje Stona i okolice bilo je važno trgovačko središte u
srednjemu vijeku. Osim proizvodnje soli i trgovine razvijale su se i brodogradnja i poljoprivreda. Selo
Broce već se tada etabliralo kao selo ribarske djelatnosti te je igralo važnu ulogu u gospodarskome
razvoju Stona. Bogata ribarska tradicija datira iz davnih vremena; ribolov je oduvijek bio jedan od
glavnih izvora prihoda lokalnoga stanovništva, a i danas selo je poznato po ribarstvu, barkama i
tradicionalnome načinu ribolova.
Mnogi stanovnici Broca obavljali su različite poslove u Stonu, bili su povezani sa stanovnicima
Stona na razne načine, stoga Ston i Broce odavno dijele društvenu i kulturnu poveznicu te bogatu
kulturnu baštinu, o čemu svjedoče mnogi kulturni i vjerski običaji koji se odnose na obje zajednice.
Suvremena terenska istraživanja i razgovori s ljudima okosnica su ovoga rada u kojemu se
interdisciplinarno izučavaju usmenoknjiževni elementi i tradicijska kultura bročansko-stonskoga
područja. Pripovijetke, legende, pjesme i poslovice koje se prenose usmenim putem predstavljaju važan
dio lokalne tradicijske kulture. U mnogim su pjesmama i pričama ukorijenjene društvene vrijednosti
seoskoga habitusa, a često se povezuju s konkretnim događajima, mjestima i lokalitetima na stonskome i
bročanskome području.
Usmena tradicija ponekad se prenosi pri posebnim prigodama kao što su druženja, svadbe i
blagdani te tako predstavlja važan način prenošenja kulturnoga nasljeđa u zajednici. Običaji koji se
izučavaju usmjereni su na crkveno-pučku baštinu (ophodi, obredi, vjerovanja) u razdoblju blagdana
tijekom godine, na svadbene običaje te na ribarsku tradiciju sela. Usmenoknjiževni primjeri zapisani su u
izvornome dijalektnomu obliku.The village of Broce on the Pelješac peninsula is one of the representatives of a rich but
insufficiently explored traditional culture. Oral literary elements of Broce are manifested in customs,
beliefs, and rural traditions that are transmitted through practices, storytelling, maintenance, and
repetition of rituals that shape the traditional culture of the village. The system of brotherhoods and
various artifacts found in old buildings and sacred objects are key evidence for understanding the
traditional way of life in this region. The sacred heritage of Broce includes churches, chapels, and
shrines. Religious buildings are important gathering places and spiritual centers of the local community.
As a result, the rich church-folk heritage includes various cultural and religious customs. According to
testimonies of older residents of Broce, processions through the village were held and various festivities
were organized. Festivities were important occasions that brought together the people of Broce, as well
as people from other places, mostly from Ston and surrounding villages.
Broce is located at the beginning of the eastern part of the Pelješac peninsula, and in geographical,
historical, and cultural context, it is connected to the town of Ston, which is well-known in literature due
to its historical significance and importance in the Dubrovnik Republic. The area of Ston and its
surroundings was an important trading center in the Middle Ages. In addition to salt production and
trade, shipbuilding and agriculture also developed. Broce village has established itself as a fishing
village since then and played an important role in the economic development of Ston. The rich fishing
tradition dates back to ancient times; fishing has always been one of the main sources of income for the
local population, and even today the village is known for fishing, boats, and traditional fishing methods.
Many residents of Broce have worked in Ston performing various jobs and have been connected
to the people of Ston in various ways, so Ston and Broce have long shared a social and cultural
connection and a rich cultural heritage, as evidenced by many cultural and religious customs that relate
to both communities. Contemporary field research and interviews with people are the basis of this paper,
in which oral literary elements and traditional culture of the Broce-Ston area are studied interdisciplinary.
Folktales, legends, songs, and proverbs that are transmitted orally represent an important part of the local
traditional culture. Many songs and stories are rooted in the social values of rural habits and are often
connected to specific events, places, and localities in the Ston and Broce areas.
Oral tradition is sometimes transmitted on special occasions such as gatherings, weddings, and
holidays, and thus represents an important way of transmitting cultural heritage within the community.
The customs studied are focused on church-folk heritage (processions, rituals, beliefs) during the holiday
season throughout the year, wedding customs, and the fishing tradition of the village. Oral literary
examples are recorded in the original dialectal form
OVERVIEW OF THE HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE CROATIAN PICTURE BOOK
Slikovnica, kao integralni dio dječje literature i odgoja, odigrala je značajnu ulogu u oblikovanju mladih umova kroz stoljeća, pružajući ne samo zabavu, nego i važne edukativne sadržaje. Cilj je rada prikazati povijesni razvoj slikovnice u Hrvatskoj te se kroz njega razmatraju prvi primjeri slikovnica u Hrvatskoj, koji sežu još od 19. stoljeća, kada su slikovnice bile rijetkost i uglavnom su se sastojale od jednostavnih ilustracija s minimalnim tekstom. Posebno se ističe razdoblje 20. stoljeća kada su slikovnice doživjele transformaciju, s bogatijim ilustracijama i složenijim pričama koje su odražavale socijalne i kulturne promjene u društvu. Slikovnice su postale sredstvo za odgoj, učenje i prijenos kulture, s osobitim obzirom na moralne i etičke vrijednosti koje su važne za razvoj djeteta. Također, u radu se razmatraju i tematske podjele suvremenih slikovnica, od edukativnih, problemskih, pa do terapeutskih, koje djeci pomažu u razumijevanju i izražavanju emocija. Metodom deskripcije slikovnica je prikazana kao ključan alat u rukama odgojitelja i roditelja za razvoj rane pismenosti, jezičnih vještina, te socijalnih i emocionalnih kompetencija djece. Radom se naglašava važnost slikovnice u suvremenom obrazovanju i odgoju te u tom kontekstu završava refleksijom o budućnosti slikovnice kao medija koji evoluira u korak s tehnološkim napretkom, ali zadržava svoju temeljnu funkciju u djetetovom obrazovanju i razvoju.Picture books, as an integral part of children's literature and education, have played a significant role in shaping young minds through the centuries, providing not only entertainment but also important educational content. The work begins with an introduction to the definition of picture books, their basic characteristics, and their evolution through history. It examines in detail the first examples of picture books in Croatia, dating back to the 19th century, when picture books were rare and generally consisted of simple illustrations with minimal text. The paper particularly highlights the period of the 20th century when picture books underwent a transformation, with richer illustrations and more complex stories reflecting social and cultural changes in society. Picture books became a means of education, learning, and cultural transmission, with a special emphasis on moral and ethical values that are important for a child's development. Additionally, the paper discusses the thematic divisions of modern picture books, from educational and problem-solving to therapeutic ones, which help children in understanding and expressing emotions. The work emphasizes how picture books remain a crucial tool in the hands of educators and parents for the development of early literacy, language skills, and social and emotional competencies in children, highlighting the importance of picture books in contemporary education and upbringing. The paper concludes with a reflection on the future of the picture book as a medium that evolves in step with technological progress but retains its fundamental function in a child's education and development
ULOGA INTERPERSONALNE KOMUNIKACIJE U PREDŠKOLSKIM USTANOVAMA
Predmet je diplomskog rada uloga interpersonalne komunikacije u predškolskim ustanovama. Interpersonalna komunikacija podrazumijeva da jedan pojedinac preuzima ulogu autora poruke i prenosi je kanalom do jednog ili više primatelja. U odgojno-obrazovnim ustanovama, pa tako i u ustanovama ranog i predškolskog odgoja i obrazovanja, važno je uspostaviti učinkovitu interpersonalnu komunikaciju između odgojitelja i djeteta. Odgojitelji imaju ključnu ulogu u učenju djece umijeću učinkovite komunikacije, uključujući prikladno vrijeme i način razgovora o određenim temama. Uspješnom interpersonalnom komunikacijom odgojitelji pozitivno utječu na razvoj djeteta, posebice u kognitivnom i kreativnom području. U tom je smislu od iznimne važnosti poticanje uspješne komunikacije između odgojitelja i roditelja. Kada dijete svjedoči uspješnoj komunikaciji roditelja i odgojitelja, ono doživljava osjećaj sigurnosti i ljubavi. Razmjena informacija između roditelja i odgojitelja osigurava potpuno zadovoljenje djetetovih potreba, interesa i optimalnog razvoja. Usklađivanjem odgojnih praksi između obiteljske sredine te ustanove ranog i predškolskog odgoja i obrazovanja stvaraju se veće mogućnosti pozitivnog utjecaja na djetetov rast u skladu s njegovim razvojnim mogućnostima.
U svrhu izrade diplomskog rada provedeno je istraživanje kojim su ispitani stavovi odgojitelja u predškolskim ustanovama Splitsko-dalmatinske županije o značaju interpersonalne komunikacije. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo ukupno 96 ispitanika, konkretno odgojitelja, koji su ispunili online anketni upitnik posebno osmišljen za to istraživanje. Rezultati istraživanja pokazali su da odgojitelji u predškolskim ustanovama Splitsko-dalmatinske županije prepoznaju važnost učinkovite interpersonalne komunikacije između odgojitelja i djece za cjelokupni razvoj djeteta te kako smatraju da učinkovita interpersonalna komunikacija između odgojitelja i roditelja pozitivno utječe na cjelokupni razvoj djeteta. Istraživanje je također pokazalo da ne postoji statistički značajna razlika u stavovima odgojitelja u predškolskim ustanovama Splitsko-dalmatinske županije o ulozi interpersonalne komunikacije unutar ovih ustanova na temelju višegodišnjeg iskustva.The subject of this paper is the role of interpersonal communication in preschool institutions. Interpersonal communication implies that one individual assumes the role of the author of the message and transmits it through a channel to one or more recipients. In educational institutions, as well as in institutions of early and preschool education, it is important to establish effective interpersonal communication between the educator and the child. Educators play a key role in teaching children effective communication skills, including when and how to talk about certain topics. Through successful interpersonal communication, educators have a positive effect on the child's development, especially in the cognitive and creative areas. In this sense, it is extremely important to encourage successful communication between educators and parents. When a child witnesses successful communication between parents and educators, s/he experiences a sense of security and love. The exchange of information between parents and educators ensures complete satisfaction of the child's needs, interests and optimal development. By harmonising educational practices between the family environment and the institution of early and preschool education, greater possibilities of positive influence on the child's growth are created in accordance with his/her developmental possibilities.
For the purpose of this diploma thesis, research was carried out on the attitudes of teachers in preschool institutions of Split-Dalmatia County regarding the importance of interpersonal communication. A total of 96 respondents took part in the research, specifically preschool teachers, who filled out an online questionnaire specifically designed for this research. The results of the research showed that educators in preschool institutions of Split-Dalmatia County recognise the importance of effective interpersonal communication between educators and children for the overall development of the child and that they believe that effective interpersonal communication between educators and parents has a positive effect on the overall development of the child. The research also showed that there is no statistically significant difference in the views of educators in preschool institutions of Split-Dalmatia County on the role of interpersonal communication within these institutions based on many years of experience
