    SIROMAŠTVO DJECE U SUVREMENOM DRUŠTVU

    Tema ovog rada je dati dublji uvid u siromaštvo djece u suvremenom društvu. Na samom početku rada navode se najvažnije definicije i odrednice siromaštva kao i različite teorije i vrste te načini mjerenja. Pojam siromaštva je usko povezan, štoviše neodvojiv od pojma socijalne isključenosti te rizika od siromaštva. Naime, mnogi autori navode isključenost kao sinonim ili podskup siromaštva, dok ga drugi pak povezuju s pojmovima deprivacije i marginalnosti. Može se zaključiti da je navedene pojmove teško razlikovati zbog međusobne isprepletenosti i sličnosti, iako imaju i međusobne razlike koje su minimalne. Siromaštvo djece prisutno je u svim dijelovima svijeta neovisno bili oni dobro ili slabije razvijeni. Međutim, uvjeti i mogućnosti u kojima djeca žive nisu isti te je vidljivo da je u slabije razvijenim dijelovima izrazito više problema i nemogućnosti. Kako bismo dobili bolji uvid o siromaštvu u Hrvatskoj korišteni su podaci DZS-a. Imajući u vidu podatke DSZ- a iz 2023. godine stopa rizika od siromaštva za djecu do 17 godina je iznosila 16,1% , dok je postotak djece u siromaštvu iznosio 18.5%. Različitim čimbenicima ukazalo se je na utjecaj istih na rizik od siromaštva.The topic of this work is to give a deeper insight into the poverty of children in modern society. At the very beginning of the work, the most important definitions and determinants of poverty are given, as well as different theories and types and methods of measurement. The concept of poverty is closely related, indeed inseparable from the concept of social exclusion and the risk of poverty. Namely, many authors state exclusion as a synonym or subset of poverty, while others associate it with the concepts of deprivation and marginality. It can be concluded that the mentioned terms are difficult to distinguish due to their intertwining and similarities, although they also have differences between them which are minimal. Child poverty is present in all parts of the world regardless of whether they are well or less developed. However, the conditions and opportunities in which children live are not the same, and it is evident that there are significantly more problems and impossibility in less developed areas. In order to get a better insight into poverty in Croatia, data from the National Bureau of Statistics was used. Bearing in mind the data of DSZ from 2023, the poverty risk rate for children up to 17 years old was 16.1%, while the percentage of children in poverty was 18.5%.     Strip se tradicionalno promatra kao dio popularne kulture, no njegova uloga nadmašuje puko praćenje trendova. Strip je specifična umjetnička forma koja integrira dva ključna izraza: likovnu i književnu umjetnost. Kroz kombinaciju slika i teksta, autori imaju mogućnost izražavanja širokog spektra tema, ideja i poruka na način koji često nudi dinamičniji i vizualno privlačniji prikaz u usporedbi s klasičnim književnim oblicima. Spoj tih dvaju elemenata omogućuje stvaranje složenijih narativnih i vizualnih prikaza, što strip čini atraktivnim i pristupačnim različitim uzrastima. S obzirom na sveprisutnu izloženost digitalnim sadržajima, zadržavanje i motiviranje mladih čitatelja za čitanje klasične književnosti predstavlja izazov. Međutim, autori poput Dava Pilkeya dokazali su da je moguće privući pažnju djece i mladih kroz pažljivo konstruirane stripove. Pilkeyjevi stripovi privlače publiku zahvaljujući zanimljivim i promišljenim fabulama, likovima s kojima se mladi čitatelji lako poistovjećuju te složenim humorom koji pruža zabavu dok prenosi dublje poruke. Humor u njegovim djelima ne služi samo kao sredstvo zabave, već i kao alat za prenošenje pozitivnih vrijednosti, intermedijalnim, intertekstualnim i interkulturalnim referencama. Osim toga, Pilkeyjevi stripovi nude značajan metodički potencijal za obrazovanje. Učitelji mogu koristiti stripove kao didaktički alat za približavanje književnih koncepata, kao što su fabula, karakterizacija i stil, kao i likovnih elemenata, uključujući kompoziciju, perspektivu i boju. Kombinacija intrigantne priče, humora i vizualnih komponenti pruža bogato iskustvo čitanja koje može motivirati mlade čitatelje da aktivno sudjeluju u procesu učenja.Comics are traditionally viewed as part of popular culture, but their role goes beyond merely following trends. Comics are a unique art form that integrates two key expressions: visual and literary art. Through a combination of images and text, creators have the opportunity to express a wide range of themes, ideas, and messages in a way that often offers a more dynamic and visually appealing presentation compared to traditional literary forms. The fusion of these two elements allows for the creation of more complex narrative and visual depictions, making comics attractive and accessible to various age groups. Given the pervasive exposure to digital content, retaining and motivating young readers to engage with classic literature presents a challenge. However, authors like Dav Pilkey have demonstrated that it is possible to capture the attention of children and adolescents through carefully crafted comics. Pilkey’s comics engage audiences with their intriguing and thoughtfully constructed plots, characters that young readers easily relate to, and sophisticated humor that provides entertainment while conveying deeper messages. The humor in his works not only serves as a means of entertainment but also as a tool for transmitting positive values, through intermedial, intertextual, and intercultural references. Moreover, Pilkey’s comics offer significant methodological potential for education. Teachers can use comics as a didactic tool to introduce literary concepts such as plot, characterization, and style, as well as visual elements, including composition, perspective, and color. The combination of an engaging story, humor, and visual components provides a rich reading experience that can motivate young readers to actively participate in the learning process

    ODBOJKA KAO IZVANŠKOLSKA AKTIVNOST

    U ovome su radu analizirani i istaknuti različiti aspekti odbojke kao izvanškolske aktivnosti, s naglaskom na njezin utjecaj kod djece i mladih. Rad započinje općenitim dijelom o izvanškolskim aktivnostima te osnovnim karakteristikama odbojke i elementima igre. Potom su navedene specifičnosti treninga djece u odbojci s osvrtom na psihološke aspekte i karakteristike kako treninga tako i trenera u radu sa školskom djecom te kakav odbojka utjecaj ima na fizički razvoj i zdravlje kod djece. U nastavku su prikupljeni podatci o broju polaznika osnovnoškolske dobi u različitim školama odbojke u Splitu i okolici. Naglasak je stavljen na mini i malu odbojku s opisom pravila i specifičnosti igre za mlađe uzraste. Opisano je uključivanje djece u odbojku i uloga roditelja u djetetovom bavljenju sportom. Analizom različitih literatura potvrđeno je da odbojka ima ulogu u razvoju djece i mladih na svim razinama što ukazuje na njezinu sveobuhvatnu korist za cjelokupni razvoj mladih pojedinaca.This thesis analyzes and highlights various aspects of volleyball as an extracurricular activity with an emphasis on its impact on children and youth. The work begins with a general section on extracurricular activities, followed by the basic characteristics of volleyball and its elements of play. Furthemore, it outlines the specificities of training children in volleyball, focusing on psychological aspects and the characteristics of both the training and the trainers working with school children, as well as the influence of volleyball on physical development and health in children. Data on the number of elementary school-aged participants in various volleyball schools in Split and its surroundings have been collected. Emphasis is placed on mini and small volleyball, with a description of the rules and specifics of the game for younger age groups. The inclusion of children in volleyball and the role of parents in a child's sports involvement are also described. An analysis of various literature confirms that volleyball plays a significant role in the development of children and youth on all levels, indicating its comprehensive benefits for the overall development of young individuals

    THE ROLE OF EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATOR IN STRENGTHENING PEER SUPPORT

    U ovom radu analizira se uloga odgajatelja u poticanju vršnjačke potpore i vršnjačkih odnosa u ustanovama ranog i predškolskog odgoja i obrazovanja. Poseban se naglasak stavlja na utjecaj vršnjačkih odnosa na socio-emocionalni razvoj djece i izgradnju inkluzivne zajednice. Suvremeni i inkluzivan pristup odgoju i obrazovanju prepoznaje svako dijete kao jedinstvenu osobu unutar vlastite kulture, dok istovremeno naglašava važnost zajedničkog djelovanja djece u stvaranju kulture pripadnosti i identiteta. Rad analizira kako djeca u vrtiću uče prepoznavati i prihvaćati potrebe drugih, poštivati različitosti te graditi odnose na temelju brige i međusobne potpore, pri čemu vršnjačka potpora ima važnu ulogu u socijalnoj uključenosti i inkluzivnom odgoju i obrazovanju. Uloga odgajatelja je značajna u stvaranju uvjeta za razvoj bliskih odnosa među djecom kroz oblikovanje prostorno-materijalnog i socijalnog konteksta. Rad također razmatra pravne temelje inkluzivnog odgoja i obrazovanja, suvremene paradigme te teorije kulture, kao i značajke vršnjačke potpore, socio-emocionalnog razvoja, igre, vršnjačkih odnosa i rizike socijalne isključenosti. U završnom dijelu, fokus je na kompetencijama odgajatelja i strategijama za poticanje vršnjačke potpore i prevenciju socijalne isključenosti.This paper analyzes the role of educators in fostering peer support and peer relationships in early childhood education settings. Particular focus is placed on the impact of peer relationships on children's socio-emotional development and the creation of inclusive communities. Contemporary and inclusive approaches to education recognize each child as a unique individual within their own culture, while simultaneously emphasizing the importance of children's collective interactions in building a culture of belonging and identity. The paper analyzes how children in preschool learn to recognize and accept others' needs, respect differences, and build relationships based on care and mutual support, with peer support playing a key role in social inclusion and inclusive education. The role of educators is significant in creating conditions for the development of close relationships among children by shaping both spatial-material and social contexts. The paper also examines the legal foundations of inclusive education, modern paradigms, and cultural theories, as well as the characteristics of peer support, socio-emotional development, play, peer relationships, and risks of social exclusion. The final section focuses on educators' competencies and strategies for promoting peer support and preventing social exclusion

    U suvremenim ustanovama za rani odgoj i obrazovanje bi se procesi odgoja i obrazovanja trebali stalno unaprjeđivati kako bi se pratio razvoj djece. Darovita su djeca ona koja imaju iznadprosječne mogućnosti i sposobnosti te, pored njihovih roditelja, ključnu ulogu u njihovom razvoju i napredovanju imaju odgojitelji te, kasnije, učitelji. Suvremeni sustav ranog i predškolskog odgoja i obrazovanja nastoji razviti nove koncepte kojima se žele unaprijediti odnosi između djece i odraslih ljudi što uključuje međusobnu komunikaciju djece, ali i komunikaciju djece s odgojiteljima, neovisno o njihovim različitostima i posebnim potrebama. Upravo to predstavlja karakteristike inkluzivnog odgoja i obrazovanja koji je neophodan u suvremeno doba kako bi se svako dijete osjećalo ugodno i poželjno što je preduvjet za njegov uspješan razvoj i napredovanje. Za potrebe ovoga diplomskoga rada provedeno je i anketno istraživanje iz kojega bi se moglo zaključiti da ispitane odgojiteljice, iako imaju radnoga iskustva te iskustva u radu s darovitom djecom, situacija bi ipak mogla biti bolja. Ne postoji značajna razlika u mišljenju odgojiteljica o darovitoj djeci s obzirom na njihovo radno iskustvo, obrazovanje, vrstu vrtića, iskustvo u radu s darovitima te stručno usavršavanje, kao ni u njihovom mišljenju o odgoju i obrazovanju darovite djece s obzirom na radno iskustvo.In modern institutions for early childhood education, the processes of education should be constantly improved in order to monitor the development of children. Gifted children are those who have above-average opportunities and abilities, and, in addition to their parents, educators and, later, teachers play a key role in their development and progress. The modern system of early and preschool education strives to develop new concepts that aim to improve relationships between children and adults, which includes mutual communication between children, but also communication between children and educators, regardless of their differences and special needs. This is precisely the characteristics of inclusive upbringing and education, which is necessary in modern times in order for every child to feel comfortable and desirable, which is a prerequisite for his successful development and advancement. For the purposes of this diploma thesis, a survey was also conducted, from which it could be concluded that the interviewed teachers, although they have work experience and experience in working with gifted children, the situation could still be better. There is no significant difference in the teachers' opinion about gifted children with regard to their work experience, education, type of kindergarten, experience in working with the gifted and professional training, as well as in their opinion about the upbringing and education of gifted children with regard to their work experience

    USE OF DATING APPS AMONG YOUNG PEOPLE IN SPLIT

    Aplikacije za upoznavanje postale su dio svakodnevice i sastavni dio sklapanja veza i intimnih odnosa. Sve je to u skladu s razvojem tehnologije koja rapidno napreduje i iz dana u dan donosi nova otkrića i rješenja, pa tako i na ovom području. Intimnost se također modernizira, ide u korak s vremenom, a upravo aplikacije za upoznavanje jedan su od glavnih posrednika postizanja jednostavnosti i praktičnosti sklapanja intimnih odnosa. Korištenje aplikacija za upoznavanje (Tinder, Badoo, Grindr i Bumble) i njihov utjecaj na mlade stanovnike i stanovnice Splita centralni su dio i cilj ovog istraživanja. Na uzorku od 171 sudionika cilj je istražiti učestalost korištenja aplikacija za upoznavanje te motive korištenja – seksualni susreti, dosada, dugotrajne veze, podizanje samopouzdanja te ostali razlozi navedeni u istraživanju. Rezultati istraživanja pokazuju kako nema značajnih razlika u korištenju aplikacija za upoznavanje između spolova i između završenog stupnja obrazovanja. Također, što se tiče seksualnih susreta kao motiva korištenja, tu također nisu značajne razlike između muškaraca i žena. U samom istraživanju, svega četvrtina sudionika smatra kako su aplikacije za upoznavanje budućnost sklapanja intimnih veza, što govori kako mladi Splita možda nisu spremni na modernizaciju intime. Brojni su aspekti koje treba uzeti u obzir prilikom istraživanja ovakve teme – vremensko razdoblje, geografska lokacija, društvene i religijske norme i vrijednosti i brojni drugi. Iz ovog razloga često se može pronaći različite rezultate i iz tog razloga potrebno je raditi nova istraživanja sa širim uzorcima kako bi se istražila uloga društvenog konteksta, motivi, a i sama budućnost i razvoj aplikacija za upoznavanje.Dating apps have become part of everyday life and an integral part of making love connections and intimate relationships. All this is in accordance with the development of technology, which advances rapidly and brings new discoveries and solutions every day, including the aspects of intimacy and love. Intimacy is also modernizing, keeping up with the time, and dating apps are one of the main mediators of achieving the simplicity and practicality of establishing intimate relationships. The use of dating applications (Tinder, Badoo, Grindr and Bumble) and their impact on young residents of Split are the central part and goal of this research. On a sample of 171 participants, the goal is to investigate the frequency of using dating apps and the motives for using them - sexual encounters, boredom, long-term relationships, self-confidence boost and other reasons mentioned in the research. The results of the research show that there are no significant differences in the use of dating applications between the sexes and between the completed level of education. Also, regarding sexual encounters as a motive for use, there are also no significant differences between men and women. In the survey itself, only a quarter of the participants believe that dating applications are the future of intimate relationships, which suggests that young people in Split may not be ready for the modernization of intimacy. There are many aspects that should be considered when researching such a topic - time frame, geographical location, social and religious norms and values and many others. For this reason, different results can often be found, and for this reason, it is necessary to do new research with larger samples to investigate the role of social context, motives, and the very future and development of dating apps

    USAVRŠAVANJE KOORDINACIJE PUTEM KINEZIOLOŠKIH AKTIVNOSTI U PREDŠKOLSKOJ DOBI

    Predmet je rada usavršavanje koordinacije putem aktivnosti. Tjelesna aktivnost igra ključnu ulogu u razvoju antropoloških karakteristika djece predškolske dobi. Među sposobnostima koje se kod djece predškolske dobi razvijaju važna je motorička sposobnost. Koordinacija je ključna motorička sposobnost koju djeca stječu i usavršavaju tijekom ranog djetinjstva, a uvelike pridonosi njihovom stjecanju i usavršavanju vještina. Kako bi se istražilo poboljšanje koordinacijskih vještina kroz aktivnosti u sklopu diplomskog rada provedeno je istraživanje. Cilj istraživanja bio je ispitati napredak koordinacijskih sposobnosti djece predškolske dobi upisane u mješovitu odgojno-obrazovnu skupinu DV „Veseli patuljci“ tijekom pedagoške godine 2023./2024. Istraživanjem je obuhvaćeno šesnaest ispitanika, od kojih osam dječaka i osam djevojčica iz navedene odgojno-obrazovne skupine. Antropološka mjerenja provedena su u listopadu 2023. (inicijalno mjerenje), siječnju 2024. (tranzitivno mjerenje) i svibnju 2024. (finalno mjerenje) kako bi se pratio napredak razvoja koordinacije. Rezultati provedenog istraživanja pokazali su da postoje statistički značajne razlike u testovima koordinacije između inicijalnog i finalnog mjerenja i kod dječaka i kod djevojčica. Pokazalo se i da postoji statistički značajna povezanost rezultata testova koordinacije u finalnom mjerenju s antropološkim karakteristikama djece koja su sudjelovala u istraživanju, pri čemu je najznačajnije izražena povezanost između tjelesne visine i pretklona raznožno, tjelesne visine i trčanja te tjelesne težine i pretklona raznožno.The subject of this paper is the improvement of coordination through activities. Physical activity plays a key role in the development of anthropological characteristics of preschool children. Among the skills that preschool children develop, motor skills are important. Coordination is a key motor skill that children acquire and improve during early childhood, and it greatly contributes to their acquisition and improvement of skills. In order to investigate the improvement of coordination skills through activities as part of the diploma thesis, a study was conducted. The aim of the research was to examine the progress of the coordination abilities of preschool children enrolled in the mixed educational group of DV „Veseli patuljci“ during the 2023/2024 academic year. Sixteen respondents were included in the research, of which eight were boys and eight were girls from the aforementioned educational group. Anthropological measurements were conducted in October 2023 (initial measurement), January 2024 (transitive measurement), and May 2024 (final measurement) to monitor the progress of coordination development. The results of the conducted research showed that there are statistically significant differences in coordination tests between the initial and final measurements in both boys and girls. It was also shown that there is a statistically significant correlation between the results of the coordination tests in the final measurement and the anthropological characteristics of the children who participated in the research, with the most significant correlation between body height and various leanings, body height and running, and body weight and various leanings

    LEKSIČKA OBILJEŽJA SPONTANOGA GOVORA U GLAZBENOJ EMISIJI VOICE HRVATSKE RADIOTELEVIZIJE

    Ovaj diplomski rad bavi se leksičkim obilježjima spontanoga govora u glazbenoj emisiji Voice Hrvatske radiotelevizije. Cilj je istraživanja utvrditi učestalost upotrebe anglizama i stranih riječi u slobodnom govoru mentora i kandidata. U teorijskom dijelu rada prikazani su pojmovi vezani za jezično posuđivanje, a poseban naglasak stavljen je na anglizme te njihovu prisutnost i ulogu u hrvatskom jeziku. Istaknuta je razlika između anglizama i stranih riječi preuzetih iz engleskog jezika. U praktičnom dijelu rada prikazana je analiza spontanog govora u glazbenoj emisiji Voice Hrvatske radiotelevizije te je svaki anglizam pojašnjen zasebno. Također, praktični dio donosi i popis riječi iz drugih stranih jezika kako bi se jasnije vidio omjer anglizama i riječi iz drugih stranih jezika čime je potvrđen velik utjecaj engleskog jezika. Rezultati pokazuju značajnu prisutnost anglizama i stranih riječi što odražava utjecaj engleskog jezika na spontani govor u medijima. Zaključak istraživanja ukazuje na to da su leksička obilježja spontanoga govora u emisiji Voice odraz društvenih i kulturnih trendova te utjecaja globalizacije i medija na jezik.This thesis examnes the lexical features of spontaneous speech in the music show “Voice” broadcasted of Croatian Radiotelevision. The aim of the research is to determine the frequency of the use of English loan words and foreign words in the spontaneous speech of mentors and candidates. The theoretical section of the thesis discusses concepts related to linguistic borrowing, with a particular focus on English loan words and their presence and role in the Croatian language. It distingiushes between English loan words and foreign words borrowed from the English language. The practical section presents an analysis of the spontaneous speech in the music show “Voice” of Croatian Radiotelevision, with each English word explained individually. Additionally, this section includes a list of words from other foreign languages to provide a clearer comparison of the ratio of English words to other foreign words, thereby confirming the significant influence of the English language. The results demonstrate a substantial presence of English loan words and foreign words, highlighting the influence of English on spontaneous speech in media. The conclusion indicates that the lexical features of spontaneous speech in “Voice” reflect social and cultural trends, as well as the impact of globalization and media on language

    ARHITEKTONSKI OPUS SLOBODANA JANJIĆA

    Brza urbanizacija i tipska jeftina izgradnja, tipične za gradove u Jugoslaviji, nisu izbjegle ni Dubrovnik. Povezavši se s ostalim dalmatinskim gradovima Jadranskom magistralom, ovaj grad postaje jednim od turističkih središta bivše države, uslijed čega na njegovom prostoru niče niz hotelskih kompleksa, doprinijevši tako razvoju gospodarstva ovog prostora. Naglo širenje grada, potreba za brzom izgradnjom naselja i ostvarivanjem velikog broja turističkih smještaja te obogaćivanjem grada dodatnim rekreativnim, obrazovnim, upravnim i radnim sadržajima, iziskivali su djelovanje niza manjih projektantskih biroa. U jednom od njih, PB „Arhitekt“, djelovao je i arh. Slobodan Janjić. Cilj ovog rada je predstaviti opus ovog, do sada skoro pa potpuno nepoznatog, arhitekta, koji svojim radom odražava utjecaj dubrovačkog povijesnog konteksta, no, istovremeno, prati nove potrebe jugoslavenskog društva i režima. Arh. Janjić je autor, za sada potvrđenih, devet projekata; hotela Odisej u Pomeni, kuće za odmor u Lozici, zgrada „Solidarnosti“ u Novoj Mokošici, nebodera na Lapadu, zgrade Carinske uprave-„Croatia osiguranja“, kupališnog objekta na Banjama, obnove zida uz kulu Sv. Frano te kuća Kulišić u Šipčinama i Kuni Pelješkoj. Osim ovih projekata, u suradnji s drugim arhitektima ostvario je još tri; prvu fazu Medicinskog centra Dubrovnik (s arh. Stankom Kristlom), nadogradnju hotela Lafodije na Lopudu (kao suradnik arh. Mladenu Frki) te nadogradnju pristanišne zgrade dubrovačkog aerodroma u Čilipima (s arh. Stefanom i Oliverom Bravačić).Rapid urbanization and the construction of inexpensive standardized buildings, typical of cities in Yugoslavia, did not bypass Dubrovnik. Connected to other Dalmatian cities via the Adriatic Highway, Dubrovnik became one of the tourist centers of the former state, leading to the emergence of numerous hotel complexes, thereby contributing to the local economy's development. The rapid expansion of the city, the need for swift construction of residential areas and a large number of tourist accommodations, as well as enriching the city with additional recreational, educational, administrative, and work facilities, necessitated the involvement of numerous smaller architectural firms. One of these firms, PB "Arhitekt," employed architect Slobodan Janjić. This paper aims to present the work of this hitherto almost completely unknown architect, whose work reflects the influence of Dubrovnik's historical context while simultaneously addressing the new needs of Yugoslav society and regime. Architect Janjić is confirmed to have authored nine projects to date: the Odisej Hotel in Pomena, a vacation house in Lozica, the "Solidarnost" buildings in Nova Mokošica, a high-rise in Lapad, the Customs Administration-"Croatia Insurance" building, a bathing facility at Banje, the restoration of the wall near the St. Frano Tower, and the Kulišić houses in Šipčine and Kuna Pelješka. In addition to these projects, he collaborated with other architects on three more: the first phase of the Dubrovnik Medical Center (with architect Stanko Kristl), the extension of the Lafodia Hotel on Lopud (as an associate to architect Mladen Frka), and the expansion of the terminal building at Dubrovnik Airport in Čilipi (with architects Stefan and Olivera Bravačić)

    Rad nudi pregled razvoja astronomije od antičkih vremena do sedamnaestog stoljeća, i to posebno s obzirom na ulogu koju su u tom razvoju imali matematika i filozofija (metafizika i epistemologija). U prvom su dijelu rada izložena postignuća antičke astronomije, pri čemu je posebno izdvojen Aristotelov i Ptolemejev doprinos. K tomu, istaknuta su i osnovna načela, problemi, metode i distinkcije karakteristične za antičku astronomiju: postulat jednolikog kružnog kretanja, problem retrogradnih kretanja planeta, metoda spašavanja fenomena, dioba svemira na sublunarno i supralunarno područje te razlika između matematičke i fizikalne astronomije. Ukratko je analizirana i filozofska pozadina tih načela, problema, metoda i distinkcija. U drugom je dijelu rada ukratko izložen razvoj astronomije tijekom srednjega vijeka, s posebnim naglaskom na distinkciju između matematičke i fizikalne astronomije. Završni odsječci rada posvećeni su Koperniku, Kepleru, Galileju i Newtonu. Kad je o Koperniku riječ, posebna je pozornost posvećena problemu shvaća li Kopernik svoj heliocentrični sustav samo kao matematičku ili ujedno i kao fizikalnu astronomiju. Što se Keplera tiče, istaknuto je njegovo napuštanje postulata jednolikog kružnog kretanja. U vezi s Galilejem, istaknuta je važnost njegovih promatranja i otkrića teleskopom, posebno njegovo otkriće Venerinih mijena. Na koncu, kad je o Newtonu riječ, istaknuta je ključna uloga njegove mehanike, koja je rezultirala posve novim shvaćanjem nebeskih tijela i njihovih kretanja, tj. radikalno novom astronomijom (kako u fizikalnom, tako i u matematičkom pogledu), u kojoj ne samo da je napušten postulat jednolikog kružnog kretanja i Ptolemejev geocentrični sustav nego je i tradicionalna fizika zamijenjena radikalno novim shvaćanjem sile, koje je neizbježno učinilo diobu svemira na sublunarno i supralunarno područje neodrživom, rezultirajući tako posve novom slikom svemira.The paper provides an overview of the development of astronomy from ancient times to the seventeenth century inclusively, especially with regard to the roles played by mathematics and philosophy (metaphysics and epistemology) in that development. In the first section of the paper, the achievements of ancient astronomy are presented, with special attention being paid to Aristotle's and Ptolemy's contribution to its development. In addition, the fundamental principles, problems, methods and distinctions characteristic of ancient astronomy are foregrounded: the postulate of uniform circular motion, the problem of the retrograde motion of the planets, the method of saving the phenomena, the division of the universe into the sublunar and the supralunar regions, and the difference between mathematical and physical astronomy. The philosophical background of these principles, problems, methods and distinctions is briefly analysed. In the second section of the paper, the development of astronomy during the Middle Ages is briefly presented, with special emphasis given to the distinction between mathematical and physical astronomy. The final sections of the paper are dedicated to Copernicus, Kepler, Galileo, and Newton. When it comes to Copernicus, special attention is paid to the problem of whether Copernicus understands his heliocentric system only as mathematical or also as physical astronomy. As for Kepler, his abandonment of the postulate of uniform circular motion is highlighted. As to Galileo, the importance of his telescopic observations and discoveries, especially his discovery of the phases of Venus, are emphasised. Finally, when it comes to Newton, the key role of his mechanics is foregrounded, which resulted in a completely new understanding of celestial bodies and their movements, i. e. in a fundamentally new astronomy (both in physical and mathematical terms), in which not only the postulate of uniform circular motion and Ptolemy's geocentric system were abandoned, but also traditional physics was replaced by a radically new understanding of force, which inevitably rendered the division of the universe into the sublunar and the supralunar regions untenable, thereby resulting in a completely new picture of the universe
