Planning and programming of research spaces - natural science laboratory models
Tema rada je istražiti zahtjeve koji se prilikom planiranja i programiranja laboratorijskih zgrada pojavljuju pred korisnicima i projektantima. Prezentiran je dio istraživanja koje se provodi u sklopu istraživačke radionice na Doktorskom znanstvenom studiju Arhitekture i urbanizma na Arhitektonskom fakultetu u Zagrebu. Obuhvaćen je pregled razvoja laboratorijskih zgrada, suvremeni utjecaji i trendovi razvoja te kriteriji za programiranje i projektiranje laboratorijskih zgrada.The topic of the paper is to research requirements that appear before users and designers during the planning and programming of laboratory buildings. A part of research conducted in workshop at the Doctoral Scientific Study of Architecture and Urbanism at the Faculty of Architecture in Zagreb is presented: an overview of the development of laboratory buildings, contemporary influences and development trends, and criteria for programming and designing laboratory buildings are included

Steel Canopy Project of the Shopping Center „King Cross“ : Master's Thesis
Projekt nadogradnje i rekonstrukcije shopping centra „King Cross“ sadržava u sebi čeličnu nadstrešnicu na sjeveroistočnom pročelju građevine. Shopping centar se nalazi na području Zagreba. Proračun se provodi na temelju graničnog stanja nosivosti (GSN) i graničnog stanja uporabljivosti (GSU). Opterećenja koja se javljaju na konstrukciju su stalno (vlastita težina i dodatno stalno opterećenje) i promjenjivo (snijeg,vjetar i temperatura). Također je provjerena konstrukcija na seizmičko djelovanje. Iznosi unutarnjih sila dobiveni su u računalnom programu „SCIA Engineer 22.0“ uz pomoć kojeg je i provedeno dimenzioniranje prema HRN EN 1993. Spojevi su proračunati uz pomoć „IDEA Statica 22.1“ te su nacrti izrađeni uz pomoć „AutoCAD 23.0“ i „Allplan Nemetschek 2022“.The project of upgrade and reconstruction of the shopping center „King Cross“ includes a steel canopy project on the northeast facade. The shopping center is located in area of the Zagreb. Structure calculations are based on ultimate state (ULS) and serviceability limit state (SLS). Loads are permanent, variable (snow, wind, and temperature) and seismic. The results of the internal forces were calculated and structural elements were designed using „Scia Engineer 22.0“. Structural joints were designed using „IDEA Statica 21.1“. Structural drawings were made using „AutoCAD 23“ and „Allplan Nemetschek 2022“
Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium in the coastal waters of the eastern Adriatic
Vankomicin rezistentan Enterococcus faecium (VREfm) nalazi se među najvišim globalnim prioritetima u pogledu javnog zdravstva i okoliša kao važan oportunistički patogen. Sveobuhvatnim pristupom po pitanju javnog zdravlja po prvi put smo determinirali otpornost na antibiotike, gene virulencije te pripadnost ST- grupama u VREfm izolatima prikupljenim u priobalnim vodama. VREfm izolati iz priobalnih voda te efluenta otpadnih voda pokazali su sličnost po pitanju gena virulencije, ST profila i gena rezistencije na antibiotike. Svi izolati su nosili gen vanA te aminoglikozidne gene aph(2'')-Ib i aph(2'')-Id. Gen hyl bio je najrašireniji gen virulencije. Izolati se nalaze u deset ST grupa koje su dio CC17 klonalnog kompleksa, glavne epidemijske grupe povezane s bolničkim infekcijama, pri čemu prevladavaju ST117 i ST889 grupe koje su zajedničke za vodene i bolničke izolate što ukazuje na njihovo širenje u okoliš putem kanalizacije.Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium (VREfm) is an opportunistic pathogen among the highest global priorities regarding public and environmental health. Following the One Health approach, we determined for the first time the antibiotic resistance and virulence genes and sequence type (ST) affiliation of VREfm recovered simultaneously from marine beach waters, the submarine outfall of a wastewater treatment plant and untreated discharge of sewage into the sea. Importantly, VREfm recovered from wastewater and coastal bathing waters shared similar virulence, multidrug resistance and ST profiles, posing a major threat to public health. All isolates carried the vanA gene, aminoglycoside-resistance genes aac(6')-Ieaph(2'')-Ia, and aph(2'')-Ib and aph(2'')-Id. The hyl gene was the most prevalent virulence gene. The isolates belonged to 10 STs of the CC17 clonal complex, a major epidemic lineage associated with hospital-acquired infections and outbreaks, with ST117 and ST889 common to waterborne and hospital isolates, suggesting their sewage-driven dissemination
The application of selected creep models for glulam made from European hornbeam
U ovom radu prikazana je primjena tri odabrana modela za opisivanje puzanja lijepljenih lameliranih nosača (LLN) izrađenih od graba (Carpinus betulus L.) i opterećenih konstantnom silom tijekom razdoblja od tri mjeseca. Odabrani modeli su 'power law', Norton-Bailey i Burgerov model. Istraživanja su provedena u Laboratoriju za konstrukcije Fakulteta građevinarstva, arhitekture i geodezije (FGAG) u Splitu. LLN-i su ispitani na savijanje u 4 točke na način da su opterećeni silom koja iznosi 30 % maksimalne sile dobivene prethodno provedenim kratkotrajnim testovima na gredama istih dimenzija. Usporedbom koeficijenata determinacije dobivenih programskim paketom Matlab može se uočiti da se sva tri modela mogu koristiti za predviđanje ponašanja LLN-a izloženog dugotrajnom konstantnom opterećenju.This paper presents the application of selected models in order to determine the creep behavior of glued laminated timber beams (glulam) made from European hornbeam (Carpinus betulus L.) and loaded with a constant force during a period of three months. The selected models are the 'power law', Norton-Bailey, and Burger's model. The investigations were performed in the Construction Laboratory of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geodesy in Split. Four-point bending tests were performed on glulam beams with an applied load level of 30% of the maximum force obtained from previously conducted short-term tests. The comparison was made between the coefficients of determination obtained in Matlab for each model. It can be concluded that all three of the selected models can be successfully applied in order to describe the creep behavior of glulam beams under long-term loading
Analysis of Cycling Infrastructure in the City of Split : Master's Thesis
Biciklistička infrastruktura postaje sve važnija u velikim gradovima Europe pa tako i ostatka svijeta. Tema ovog diplomskog rada je analiza biciklističke infrastrukture u gradu Splitu. U ovom radu analiziran je postojeći pravilnik o izgradnji biciklističke infrastrukture, analizirano je trenutno postojeće stanje biciklističke infrastrukture u Splitu te u gradovima Europske unije koji imaju najrazvijeniju biciklističku infrastrukturu. Na temelju navedenih saznanja predstavljena su moguća rješenja za poboljšanje biciklističke infrastrukture u Splitu. Iznesene su sve trenutne prednosti i nedostaci opisanih biciklistički infrastruktura kao i mogućnosti provedbe prijedloga za poboljšanje biciklističke infrastrukture u Splitu.Cycling infrastructure is becoming more important in large cities in Europe and the rest of the world. The topic of this thesis is the analysis of the bicycle infrastructure in the city of Split. In this paper, regulations for the construction of bicycle infrastructure are defined, and the current state of bicycle infrastructure in Split and in the cities of the European Union with the most developed bicycle infrastructure is analyzed
Common Foundations 2023 - uniSTem : the tenth meeting of young researchers in the field of civil engineering and related technical sciences, 14-17 September 2023, Split : proceedings
Zajednički temelji su redoviti skup mladih istraživača (doktoranada i poslijedoktoranada) iz područja građevinarstva i srodnih tehničkih znanosti. Skup je zamišljen na način da bude platforma za jedna od prvih izlaganja mladih istraživača, što im omogućava svojevrsne treninge za daljnja prezentiranja i istraživački rad, te adekvatno umrežavanje. Sudionici prezentiraju svoja istraživanja ili koncept istraživanja pred kolegama iz različitih STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) područja, a njihovi sažeci ili radovi su objavljeni u zborniku. Ova publikacija zbir je radova izlagača na skupu održanom 14.-17. rujna 2023. god. na Fakultetu građevinarstva, arhitekture i geodezije Sveučilišta u Splitu. Ideja o kreiranju ovakvog tipa skupa krenula je prije 10 godina upravo iz Splita gdje su i održani prvi Zajednički temelji te se od tada kontinuirano, svake godine, održavaju naizmjence na ograncima Udruge hrvatskih građevinskih fakulteta (Zagreb, Split, Rijeka, Osijek i Mostar). Kroz dosadašnje susrete preko 250 mladih istraživača predstavilo je svoj rad i područje istraživanja. Tijekom formalnog dijela (prezentacije radova) i neformalnih druženja sudionici skupa imaju priliku upoznati kolege s drugih institucija te stvoriti preduvjete za povezivanje i daljnju suradnju.Common Foundations are a regular group of young researchers (doctoral students and postdoctoral students) from the field of civil engineering and related technical sciences. The meeting was conceived in such a way as to be a platform for one of the first presentations of young researchers, which provides them with a kind of training for further presentations and research work, as well as adequate networking. Participants present their research or research concept in front of colleagues from different STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) fields, and their summaries or papers are published in the proceedings. Each meeting certainly contains at least one invited lecture and workshop or round table on one of the current topics related to the scientific and research domain and the position of young people in it. This publication is a collection of young researchers' works at the conference held on September 14-17, 2023. at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geodesy, University of Split. The idea of creating this type of meeting started 10 years ago from Split, where the first Common Foundations were held, and since then they have been continuously, every year, held alternately on the branches of the Association of Croatian Faculties of Civil Engineering (Zagreb, Split, Rijeka, Osijek and Mostar). Through previous meetings, over 250 young researchers presented their work and field of research. During the formal part (presentation of works) and informal gatherings, participants of the conference have the opportunity to meet colleagues from other institutions and create preconditions for connection and further cooperation
Static Calculation of Family House : Undergraduate Thesis
U radu je prikazan statički proračun manje obiteljske kuće. Građevina se sastoji dvije etaže, prizemlja i kata sa ravnim krovom. Izvedba građevine je zidana sa armirano betonskom međukatnom monolitnom pločom i fert gredicama kao konstrukcija krova. The building consists of two stories: the ground floor and the attic with a flat roof. The construction of the house is masonry walls with reinforced concrete slab between stories and fert structure as roof structure. The work includes technical description of the structure, general and particular conditions of civil engineering works, control plan, and quality assurance plan, calculation of the main structural elements as well as characteristic structural plans and reinforcement plans

Završni rad istražuje kako uskladiti rad građevinskih strojeva potrebnih za izgradnju škole i igrališta te pristupne ceste za ta dva objekta. Ispitivanje se vrši kako bi se postigla što učinkovitija gradnja i smanjili troškovi. Rezultati pružaju smjernice za poboljšanje planiranja i upravljanja projektom.The final thesis explores how to coordinate the operation of construction machinery required for the construction of a school, playground, and access road for these two facilities. The research is conducted to achieve more efficient construction and cost reduction. The results provide guidelines for enhancing project planning and management

Generator bi postao nova žarišna točka u gradu privlačući ljude raznim sadržajima za sve dobne skupine.The paper deals with the topic of resocialization of elderly people in homes and prisoners through various facilities provided by the designed complex. The generator is conceived as a combination of all social groups from 1-99 years. The generator would become a new focal point in the city, attracting people with various facilities for all age groups
