Comparison of Numerical and Physical Models of Wave Field Diffraction and Reflection : Undergraduate Thesis
Završni rad istražuje refleksiju i difrakciju valova kroz dva pristupa: fizikalni model i numerički model u MATLAB-u. Fizikalni model koristi plastičnu kutiju (34 x 54 cm), LED-ice, spužvu za smanjenje refleksije valova od stijenki kutije, 3D isprintane modele obale, električni motor za stvaranje valova i digitalni mjerač razine vode. Eksperimenti su provedeni s različitim preprekama i modelima obale, pri čemu se indirektno mjerila visina i period valova. Numerički model u MATLAB-u izračunava plan refrakcije, uplićavanje i refleksiju uz zadavanje koeficijenta refleksije u obalnoj zoni. Na temelju rezultata numeričkog modela, difrakcija je naknadno proračunata grafo-analitičkom metodom. Cilj rada je usporediti rezultate fizikalnih eksperimenata i numeričkih simulacija te analizirati njihovu točnost i efikasnost. Rezultati pokazuju visoku podudarnost, uz razmatranje odstupanja zbog eksperimentalnih ograničenja i numeričkih aproksimacija. Zaključno, ovaj rad ukazuje na prednosti i izazove oba pristupa te pruža potencijalne smjernice za buduća istraživanja.This thesis investigates the reflection and diffraction of waves through two approaches: a physical model and a numerical model using MATLAB. The physical model uses a plastic box (34 x 54 cm), LEDs, a sponge for reucing the reflection, 3D printed coastal models, an electric motor for wave generation, and a digital water level sensor. Experiments were conducted with various obstacles and coastal models, indirectly measuring the height and the period of the waves. The numerical model in MATLAB calculates refraction patterns, shoaling, and reflection by assigning a reflection coefficient in the coastal zone. Based on the results of the numerical model, diffraction was subsequently calculated using a graph-analytical method. The aim of the thesis is to compare the results of physical experiments and numerical simulations and to analyze their accuracy and efficiency. The results show high correspondence, considering deviations due to experimental limitations and numerical approximations. In conclusion, this thesis highlights the advantages and challenges of both approaches and provides potential guidelines for future research
Design of the Overpass above the Highway : Master's Thesis
U dokumentaciji je prikazan glavni projekt nadvožnjaka preko autoceste. Sami nadvožnjak se sastoji od dva jednaka raspona (20 metara) te je polumontažne izvedbe. Stup između dva polja projektiran je kao „V“ stup. Niveleta nadvožnjaka je oko 8 metara iznad nivelete autoceste tako da ima dosta prostora za slobodan profil ispod nadvožnjaka. Projekt sadrži proračun uzdužno, poprečnog nosača i stupa, te karakteristične građevinske nacrte i tehnički opis.This paper presents the main design of the overpass above the highway. The structure is semi-preferred and it consists of two equal spans (20 meters). The middle pier is V-shaped. Elevation of the overpass is cca. 8 meters above highway elevation and therefore leaves enough space for traffic beneath the overpass. The work includes the calculation of the longitudinaly, transversely span girders and columns, and characteristic construction plans as well technical description of the construction

U ovom završnom radu rješava se problem usklađivanja rada strojeva za odabrane aktivnosti izgradnje trgovačkog centra, lokalnog parkinga, pristupne ceste i podzemne garaže. Cilj je postizanje što bolje učinkovitosti i usklađenosti strojeva za što manji i efikasniji utrošak vremena i resursa.In this thesis, the problem of machines coordination for the selected activities of the construction of a shopping center, local parking, an access road and an underground garage has been analysed and solved. The goal was to achieve the best possible efficiency and compliance of the machines for the least and most efficient consumption of time and resources
The Effect of Small Aggregate Particles on the Wear Resistance of Concrete : Undergraduate Thesis
Sitne čestice agregata mogu imati pozitivan, ali i štetan utjecaj na otpornost na habanje betona. Međutim, taj utjecaj ovisi o nekoliko čimbenika, kao što su vrsta agregata, njegova granulometrija, udio u mješavini betona, prisutnost aditiva te uvjeti izloženosti habanju. Zbog toga je važno provesti odgovarajuća ispitivanja kako bi se utvrdio točan utjecaj sitnih čestica agregata za određene slučajeve. Za potrebe ovog ispitivanja izrađeno je šest betonskih mješavina koje su međusobno različite po granulometrijskom sastavu i po vrsti agregata. Za svaku mješavinu ispitana je konzistencija, brzina prolaska ultrazvuka, dinamički modul elastičnosti, tlačna čvrstoća i otpornost na habanje. Rezultati su prikazani u radu i komentirani.Small aggregate particles can have a positive, but also a harmful effect on the wear resistance of concrete. However, this influence depends on several factors, such as the type of aggregate, its granulometry, its share in the concrete mix, the presence of additives and conditions of exposure to wear. That is why it is important to carry out appropriate tests in order to determine the exact influence of small aggregate particles for certain cases. For the purposes of this test, six concrete mixes were made, which are different from each other in terms of granulometric composition and type of aggregate. Consistency, speed of ultrasound passage, dynamic modulus of elasticity, compressive strength and wear resistance were tested for each mixture. The results are presented in the paper and commented

Diplomski rad, uz teoretsku osnovu te uži i širi slojeviti kontekst prikazuje i dokazuje kako je urbana regeneracija aktualna tema koja može biti jako uspješna i na korist široj javnosti. Stoga se okreće k daljoj budućnosti uz pretpostavku da će se svi planirani okolni infrastrukturni zahvati ostvariti kroz narednih dvadesetak godina, čime će vrijednost i atraktivnost ove obalne lokacije moći opravdati istiskivanje industrijske proizvodnje i promijeniti određene stavke prostornih planova. Trebat će se predvidjeti područja mješovite, komercijalne, sportsko-rekreacijske, društvene namjene, odnosno namjene koje bi tvorile homogeno i samoodrživo urbano tkivo, te bile u simbiozi s prenamijenjenim tvorničkim kompleksom.The diploma thesis, along with the theoretical basis and narrower and broader layered context, shows and proves that urban regeneration is a current topic that can be very successful and benefit the general public. Therefore, it turns to the further future with the assumption that all planned surrounding infrastructural interventions will be realized within the next twenty years, which will allow the value and attractiveness of this coastal location to justify the displacement of industrial production and change certain items of spatial plans. Areas of mixed, commercial, sports-recreational, social uses, i.e. uses that would form a homogeneous and self-sustaining urban fabric, and be in symbiosis with the repurposed factory complex, will need to be foreseen
Some Examples of Lightweight Concrete Made from Recycled Aggregate : Undergraduate Thesis
Beton je građevinski materijal koji se najčešće koristi u građevinskoj industriji. Laki beton, kao vrsta specijalnog betona, je nastao kao potreba za smanjenjem težine konstrukcije. Sav otpad predstavlja veliki ekološki problem pa bi najbolje rješenje bilo reciklirati ga u što većoj mjeri i ponovno iskoristiti. U novije vrijeme i u građevini nastoje koristiti reciklirani otpadni proizvodi, koji se nazivaju zelenim građevinskim materijalima. Potrebno je istražiti u kojoj mjeri zeleni građevinski materijali mogu pridonijeti poboljšanju svojstava betona i ekosustavu. U navedenim primjerima su opisana ispitivanja u kojima su korišteni reciklirani agregati kao zamjena za prirodni agregat.Concrete is the most commonly used material in the construction industry. Lightweight concrete, as a type of special concrete, was developed to reduce the weight of structures. All waste represents a significant environmental issue, so the best solution would be to recycle it as much as possible and reuse it. In recent times, the construction industry has also been incorporating recycled waste products, known as green building materials. It is necessary to explore how green building materials can contribute to improving the properties of concrete and the ecosystem.
