Jisc PID Agency: Focus Group Report
The Jisc PIDs for Open Access project is investigating approaches to the establishment of multi-PID implementations that can deliver tangible improvements to the research information ecosystem, and to ensure that the UK research sector has a strong and effective voice in PID development and governance.
As part of that wider project, in spring 2020 five focus groups were convened to build on the 2019 report "Developing a persistent identifier roadmap for open access to UK research". The report outlined a series of proposed interventions. The objectives of the focus groups reported on here were as follows:
- To take a deep dive into specific community issues, explore perceptions and elucidate needs.
- Validate the selection of five priority PIDs and the approach of a national PID consortium.
- Refine and prioritise the interventions outlined in the roadmap report cited above
