    Classification of Buildings Damages due to Earthquakes using Satellite Imagery

    Satelitske snimke omogućuju brzo i cjelovito prikupljanje informacija o području interesa. U okolnostima koje iziskuju brzu reakciju, daljinska se istraživanja nameću kao najsigurnije i najbrže sredstvo prikupljanja informacija. Mogućnosti daljinskih istraživanja su neiscrpne. Klasifikacija oštećenja nastalog uslijed potresa jedna je od njih. Upotrebom satelitskih snimki visoke rezolucije moguće je identificirati i klasificirati oštećenje nastalo neposredno nakon potresa te tako u kratkom periodu pružiti informacije o razornosti potresa. Klase oštećenja unaprijed su poznate te jasno definirane. U ovom je radu klasificirano oštećenje grada Petrinje nastalo nakon razornog potresa 29. prosinca 2020. s epicentrom 5 km jugozapadno od Petrinje. Klasifikacija pomoću satelitskih snimki zatim je validirana statistički i vizualno kako bi se potvrdila preciznost klasifikacije.Satellite imagery provides fast and comprehensive collection of information on an area of interest. In circumstances that require a rapid response, remote sensing is emerging as the safest and fastest means of gathering information. The possibilities of remote sensing are inexhaustible. The classification of earthquake damage is one of them. Using high-resolution satellite images, it is possible to identify and classify damage that occurred immediately after the earthquake, and thus provide information on the destructiveness of the earthquake in a short period of time. Damage classes are known in advance and clearly defined. This thesis classifies the damage that occured in Petrinja after the devastating earthquake on December 29, 2020 with the epicenter 5 km southwest of Petrinja. Classification using satellite imagery is then validated statistically and visually to verify the accuracy of classification

    Secondary Surveillance Radar for Air Traffic Control

    Najvažniji faktor za sigurno održavanje zračne plovidbe je primjena radara u kontroli zračnog prometa. Nadzor zračnog prometa obavlja se korištenjem različitih nadzornih tehnologija, što uključuje radarske sustave (primarni i sekundarni), sustav multilateracije i ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast). Sustav za nadzor koji je poznat kao sekundarni radar, SSR (Secondary Surveillance Radar), razvijen je radi lakše i pouzdanije identifikacije zrakoplova. U ovom radu fokus je upravo na sekundarnom nadzornom radaru, te je objašnjen njegov princip rada, prednosti i nedostatci. Također je objašnjena razlučivost sekundarnog radara po azimutu, te su spomenuti sustavi sekundarnih radara koji se koriste u Hrvatskoj za nadzor zračnog prostora.The most important factor for a safe maintenance of the air traffic flow is the use of radars in air traffic control. The air traffic control is performed using various surveillance technologies, which include radar systems (primary and secondary), a multilateration system, and ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast). A surveillance system known as Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR) was developed to make aircraft identification easier and more reliable. In this paper, the focus is on the secondary surveillance radar system, where its working principle, advantages and disadvantages are explained. Also, resolution of the secondary radar in azimuth plain is explained, as well as the secondary surveillance radar system used in Croatia for surveillance of the airspace

    Optimizacija prometnih tokova u modernom vremenu predstavlja sustavni način za rješavanje prometnih zagušenja u gradovima. Kroz ovaj diplomski rad predložena je optimizacija prometnih tokova u zoni raskrižja Avenija Marina Držića - Ulica Milke Trnine - Lastovska ulica u Gradu Zagrebu iz razloga nejasnih i nelogičnih prometnih tokova i mnogo konfliktnih točaka, a ni gužve nisu rijetka pojava. Nakon detaljne analize postojećeg stanja, te nakon provedene prometne prognoze predložena su rješenja nove regulacije. Na osnovu usporedbe razine usluge postojećeg raskrižja i predloženih rješenja napravljena je evaluacija.Optimizing traffic flows in modern times is a systematic way to deal with traffic congestion in cities. Through this thesis, the optimization of traffic flows in the area of Marin Držić Avenue - Milke Trnine Street - Lastovska Street Intersection in the City of Zagreb due to unclear and illogical traffic flows, many points of conflict and frequent traffic jams. After a detailed analysis of the current situation, and after the traffic forecast, the solutions of the new regulation were proposed.     Proračun aerodinamičkih karakteristika aeroprofila promjenjive geometrije u nadzvučnoj struji zraka

    The primary objective of this research project is to evaluate the aerodynamics behavior of the NACA 64A-204 airfoil used in the F-16 wings. The reason for selecting the F-16 wing, and therefore the airfoil used in the wing, is the characteristic behavior of in-flight changes to the airfoil geometry. The changes are made by deflecting the leading and trailing edge flaps which result in changing the wing and airfoil geometry. Two approaches were selected for obtaining the results. Linearized supersonic airfoil theory and Computational Fluid Dynamics. Linear theory offers concise results but with certain limitations, such as thin airfoil and small angles of attack. CFD solves for full Navier-Stokes equations taking into account viscosity, wall shear and stresses; which are not found in the linear theory terms. Lift coefficient values obtained are very similar for both approaches, what differs them is the drag value. As expected, the CFD approach gives higher values for drag. However, it is worth noting how the linear theory offers almost identical results for both drag and lift values under certain conditions which do not go over the imposed limitations. The paper reveals how the change in the airfoil geometry, when going from subsonic to supersonic flight, affects the lift to drag ratio. It is shown how for supersonic flight regime the supersonic flight configuration provides over 10% higher value for CL/CD ratio at 1-degree angle of attack based on the CFD results, and over 6% higher value for the same conditions based on the linear theory. Such an increase is detrimental for combat aircraft which rely on afterburner and heavy fuel consumption.Cilj ovog rada bio je procjena promjene aerodinamičkih karakteristika aeroprofila NACA 64A-204 korištenog u krilima borbenog zrakoplova F-16. Razlog odabira krila F-16 jest njegova mogućnost promjene geometrije krila tijekom leta. Mjenjajući položaj prednjih i stražnjih krilaca zrakoplov ima mogućnost promjene zakrivljenosti aeroprofila, pa tako i krila. Dva su pristupa korištena za proračune koeficijenata. Linearizirana teorija nadzvučnog aeroprofila i metode Računalne Dinamike Fluida (CFD). Linearna teorija pruža dosta točne rezultate ali pri određenim ograničenja kao što su – tanki aeroprofili i mali napadni kutovi. Računalna dinamika fluida nema takvih ograničenja, i rezultate dobiva rješavajući kompletne Navier-Stokes jednadžbe uzimajući u obzir sile viskoznosti, trenja i naprezanja. Rezultati dobiveni za koeficijente uzgona dosta su slični u oba pristupa, ono što ih razlikuje su vrijednosti koeficijenta otpora. Očekivano, CFD pristup daje veće vrijednosti otpora. Međutim, bitno je istaknuti kako linearna teorija pruža gotovo identične rezultate i za uzgon i za otpor pri određenim uvjetima koji ne idu iznad ograničenja teorije. Na kraju rada prikazano je kako i koliko utječe promjena u geometriji aeroprofila pri prelasku iz podzvučnog u nadzvučan let. Pokazano je kako za režim nadzvučnog kruziranja konfiguracija sa smanjenom zakrivljenosti – konfiguracija za nadzvučno kruziranje – pruža i preko 10% veći odnos Cl/Cd za napadni kut od 1 stupanj na temelju CFD rezultata, i preko 6% veći odnos predviđen linearnom teorijom za iste uvjete. Za borbene zrakoplove koji dosta zavise o potrošnji goriva i korištenju učinaka afterburner-a, takvo povećanje je dosta bitno

    Prognostic Model of Parcel Numbers in Improving the Efficiency of Transport

    Utvrđivanje čimbenika koji utječu na broj paketskih pošiljaka, izrada prognostičkih modela broja paketskih pošiljaka te definiranje metodologije za potreban kapacitet prijevoznih sredstava važni su za učinkovito planiranje prijevoznih kapaciteta budući da na tržištu poštanskih usluga svake godine dolazi do povećanja broja paketskih pošiljaka. U ovom doktorskom radu, kroz njegova poglavlja, definirane su odrednice modela utjecaja čimbenika na broj paketskih pošiljaka, odnosno objašnjena je korelacijska i regresijska analiza te su analizirani čimbenici koji utječu na broj paketskih pošiljaka. Zatim su opisani postupci izrade regresijskih modela koji su kasnije i testirani. Prilikom njihove izrade napravljeno je vrednovanje čimbenika koji utječu na broj paketskih pošiljaka. Temeljem dosadašnjih istraživanja i istraživanja provedenog na jednom davatelju poštanskih usluga u Republici Hrvatskoj izabrani su pokazatelji učinkovitosti prijevoza, izračunata je prosječna masa i volumen paketskih pošiljaka te je definirana metodologija za utvrđivanje potrebnih kapaciteta prijevoznih sredstava kako bi se unaprijedila učinkovitost prijevoza paketskih pošiljaka u poštanskom prometu. Temeljem korelacijske analize vrednovani su čimbenici koji utječu na broj paketskih pošiljaka te je napravljen izbor varijabli, odnosno čimbenika za izradu modela predviđanja. Regresijskom analizom također su vrednovane izabrane varijable temeljem kojih su izrađena dva prognostička modela. Modeli su testirani na stvarnim podacima čime je potvrđena njihova primjenjivost za predviđanje paketskih pošiljaka u budućim razdobljima. Također je napravljena usporedba rezultata prognostičkog modela broja paketskih pošiljaka s planiranim brojem paketskih pošiljaka promatranog davatelja poštanskih usluga čime je dodatno potvrđena primjenjivost prognostičkog modela. Uz odabrane pokazatelje učinkovitosti prijevoza definirana je i primijenjena metodologija za utvrđivanje potrebnih kapaciteta prijevoznih sredstava između entiteta poštanske mreže. Vrednovanjem čimbenika koji utječu na broj paketskih pošiljaka, primjenom modela za predviđanje broja paketskih pošiljaka te korištenjem definirane metodologije za utvrđivanje potrebnih kapaciteta prijevoznih sredstava i unaprjeđenje učinkovitosti prijevoza paketskih pošiljaka u poštanskom prometu pruža se mogućnost optimizacije voznog parka.The establishment of the factors influencing the number of package shipments, the elaboration of predictive models for the number of package shipments and the definition of the methodology for the necessary capacity of means of transport are important for the efficient planning of transport capacities, because the number of package shipments on the postal services market keeps increasing each year. Throughout its chapters, this doctoral thesis defines the determinants of the model of the influence of factors on the number of package shipments, explains the correlation and regression analyses and analyses the factors that influence the number of package shipments. The above is followed by a description of the elaboration procedures of regression models, which have subsequently been tested. In their elaboration, the factors that influence the number of package shipments have been evaluated. On the basis of previous research and research conducted in one postal service provider in the Republic of Croatia, the transport efficiency indicators were selected, the average mass and volume of package shipments calculated and the methodology for establishing the necessary capacity of means of transport defined, in order to improve the efficiency of package shipments in postal traffic. On the basis of correlation analysis, the factors that influence the number of package shipments have been evaluated and variables and factors for the elaboration of the predictive model selected. By means of the regression analysis, the selected variables, on the basis of which two predictive models have been elaborated, were also evaluated. The models were tested on the basis of real data, which helped verify their applicability in the prediction of package shipments in future periods. The results of the predictive model for the number of package shipments were also compared to the planned number of package shipments in the observed postal service provider, which additionally confirmed the applicability of the predictive model. Apart from the selected efficiency indicators, the methodology for the establishment of the necessary capacities of means of transport between the entities of the postal network was also defined and applied. The evaluation of the factors influencing the number of package shipments, application of the model for predicting the number of package shipments and use of the defined methodology for the establishment of the necessary capacities of means of transport and the improvement of package transport efficiency in postal traffic offer a possibility for optimisation of the vehicle fleet

    Bežične lokalne mreže vrsta su lokalnih mreža koje za prijenos informacija i komunikaciju između dvije točke u prostoru koriste radiofrekvencijske valove. Predstavljaju relativno jeftino rješenje koje je lako implementirati u područjima gdje nedostaje žična infrastruktura. Bežične mreže pružaju mobilnost, ali sklone su različitim prijetnjama poput uskraćivanja usluge, raznih napada, prisluškivanja i promjene podataka. Bežična komunikacija korisniku daje veću mobilnost, a samim time brži i lakši pristup izvoru informacija. Ovaj rad pruža pregled tehnologija bežičnih lokalnih računalnih mreža zasnovanim na standardu IEEE 802.11.Wireless local area networks (WLAN) are a type of local area network which are using radiofrequency waves to transmit information and communicate between two points in space. They are relatively inexpensive and easy to install solution in areas lacking of wired infrastructure. Wireless networks provide mobility but are prone to various threats such as denial of service, eavesdropping, replay attacks and data modification. Wireless communication gives the user greater mobility, and faster and easier access to the source of information. This paper will present the overview of wireless technology based on the IEEE 802.11 standard

    Trend kriptovaluta sve je više na uzlaznoj putanji, i gotovo da nema osobe koja nije čula za njih. To je trend koji je izazvan pojavom Bitcoina, nakon što je predstavljena ideja o digitalnoj valuti koja nije pod nikakvim utjecajem financijskih institucija. Ideja o digitalnoj valuti postojala je i prije same pojave Bitcoina, ali nije bilo prave tehnologije koja bi to omogućila. Tako je pojavom Bitcoina predstavljena nova i revolucionarna tehnologija pod nazivom blockchain, čiji dizajn predstavlja decentralizirani i sigurni zapis, na kojem je temeljena svaka današnja kriptovaluta. Danas je spektar primjene blockchain tehnologije širok, pa tako omogućuje stvaranje pametnih ugovora, pa sve do poboljšanja sigurnosti u poslovanju raznih organizacija. Ovim radom biti će predstavljene značajke mreže za trgovanje kriptovalutama, uključujući njihov razvoj, opis značajki blockchain tehnologije, pametnih ugovora, te tržišne aktivnosti i tržišno stanje kriptovaluta.The trend of cryptocurrencies is increasingly on an upward trajectory, and there is almost no person who has not heard of them. This is a trend caused by the emergence of Bitcoin in 2009, after the idea of a digital currency that is not under no influence of financial institutions was presented. The idea of digital currency existed even before the introduction of Bitcoin, but there was no real technology to make it possible. Thus, with the introduction of Bitcoin, a new and revolutionary technology called blockchain was introduced, whose design represents a decentralized and secure record on which every cryptocurrency today is based. Today, the range of applications of blockchain technology is wide, from enabling the creation of smart contracts, all the way to improving security in the operations of various organizations. U završnom radu će se izvršiti analiza problematike korištenja javnog gradskog prijevoza osobama s invaliditetom, te prijedlog novih i poboljšanje postojećih rješenja za bolji i učinkovitiji javni gradski prijevoz. Cilj rada je ukazati na probleme korištenja javnog gradskog prometa osobama s invaliditetom, te ponuditi odgovarajuća rješenja za navedeni problem.Urban public transport must be available to everyone, on equal terms.     Planiranje i kontrola aktivnosti lanca opskrbe ovisi o točnim procjenama količine proizvoda i usluga koje treba obraditi, a procjene dolaze kao prognoze. Jedan od najvećih izazova proizvođača hrane i pića je prilagoditi proizvodnju i zalihe kako bi se smanjili gubici proizvoda zbog kratke kvarljivosti. Analiza vremenskih serija vrlo je važna u širokom rasponu primjena, osobito kada je u pitanju predviđanje, i obuhvaća mnogo različitih modela predviđanja. Međutim, potrebno je utvrditi koji model najbolje odgovara svakoj situaciji. Postoji bezbroj modela za izradu prognoza predstavljenih u bibliografiji. Od istraživanja tržišta do najsloženijih metoda računanja. Referenca prikazuje tri glavne skupine ovih metoda, a to su: kvalitativne, povijesne projekcije i uzročne. Ovisno o seriji i željenom vremenu predviđanja, moguće je odabrati tehniku koja najbolje odgovara. Osim odabira najbolje tehnike, predviđanje koje će generirati odabrani model treba biti što je moguće bliže stvarnom koliko je moguće. Drugim riječima, pogreške u predviđanju trebale bi se minimizirati, pa voditelji proizvodnje planiraju nepažnju proizvodnje na tržištu i minimiziraju troškove. Metode predviđanja potražnje mogu se temeljiti na matematičkim modelima koji koriste povijesne podatke ili na kvalitativnim metodama, planiranim prema administrativnom iskustvu i recenzijama kupaca.The planning and control of supply chain activities depend on accurate estimates of the amount of products and services to be processed, and estimates come as forecasts. One of the biggest challenges for food and beverage manufacturers is to adjust production and stocks to reduce product losses due to short-term perishability. Time series analysis is very important in a wide range of applications, especially when it comes to prediction and encompasses many different prediction models. However, it is necessary to determine which model best suits each situation. There are countless forecasting models presented in the bibliography. From market research to the most complex calculation methods. The reference shows three main groups of these methods, namely: qualitative, historical projections, and causal. Depending on the series and the desired prediction time, it is possible to choose the technique that works best. In addition to selecting the best technique, the prediction that the selected model will generate should be as close to the actual as possible. In other words, forecasting errors need to be minimized, so production managers plan market negligence and minimize costs. Demand forecasting methods can be based on mathematical models that use historical data or on qualitative methods, planned according to administrative experience and customer reviews

    Organization of calcite transport by rail

    Prometna politika Europske Unije potiče i stavlja kao jedan od prioriteta prebacivanje robe s cestovnog na željeznički promet kako bi se rasteretile cestovne prometnice te kako bi se koristio energetski učinkovitiji i ekološki prihvatljiviji prijevoz. Stoga, željeznički promet pridobiva više na značenju u prijevozu robe. Pozitivni učinci liberalizacije, koju je također provela Europska Unija, u Republici Hrvatskoj mogu se redovito utvrditi po objavljenim godišnjim statističkim podacima o prijevozu robe. Tvornica kalcita u Gospiću, Calcit Lika d.o.o., povećala je obujam proizvodnje sirovina upravo zahvaljujući pojavljivanju novih prijevoznika na tržištu i boljoj organizaciji prijevoza. Prijevoz kalcita iz Gospića u zemlje Europske unije značajno pridonosi dekarbonizaciji prijevoza te modal shiftu sa cestovnog na željeznički prijevoz. U ovom radu analiziran je prijevoz robe na globalnoj razini, učinci liberalizacije, tehnička sredstva koja se koriste pri prijevozu te organizacija prijevoza kalcita željeznicom.The European Union's transport policy encourages and prioritizes the shift of goods from road to rail in order to relieve the burden on roads and to make use of energy-efficient and environmentally friendly transport. Therefore, rail transport is gaining more importance in the transport of goods. The positive effects of liberalization, which was also carried out by the European Union, in the Republic of Croatia can be regularly determined by published annual statistics on the transport of goods. The calcite factory in Gospić, Calcit Lika d.o.o., has increased the volume of raw material production thanks to the appearance of new carriers on the market and better organization of transport. The transport of calcite from Gospić to the countries of the European Union significantly contributes to the decarbonization of transport and the modal shift from road to rail transport.
