    Vehicle Control Units Data Application aiming to Prevent Traffic Accidents

    Prometne su nesreće, na žalost, svakodnevna pojava u cestovnom prometu. Do njih dolazi iz niza razloga. Posljedice prometnih nesreća očituju se kroz materijalnu štetu na vozilima i prometnoj infrastrukturi, a posebno kroz ozljede, trajni invaliditet, pa i smrtne posljedice ljudi koji u njima sudjeluju. Zbog toga je jasno da je svaka vrsta prevencije prometnih nesreća od velike važnosti za cjelokupnu zajednicu. Najčešći uzrok nastanka prometne nesreće je pogreška vozača ili pješaka. Upravljačke jedinice u vozilima imaju mogućnost prikupljanja niza podataka za vrijeme vožnje. Kako analiza na taj način prikupljenih podataka može biti od pomoći u vještačenju nastalih nesreća, te kako ti podaci mogu pozitivno utjecati na prevenciju nastanka budućih nesreća.Traffic accidents are, unfortunately, happening every day in traffic. They occur for a number of reasons. The consequences of traffic accidents are appeard trough material damage to vehicles and traffic infrastructure, and espacially through injuries, permanent disability, even death consequences of the people involved in them. Because of that, it is clear that any type of traffic accidents prevention is of high significance for the entire community. The most common cause of traffic accidents is a mistake of the driver or pedestrian. Control units in vehicles have the ability of collecting all sorts of informations while driving. As the analysys of collected datas can be helpful in the expert investigation of accidents , and how this data can have positive effects on prevention of future accidents

    Calculating Aircraft Engine Emissions using IMPACT software at Frankfurt airport

    Utjecaj emisija zračnog prometa na globalno zatopljenje i zagađenje okoliša već je dugo vremena jedan od bitnijih tema u zračnoj industriji, pošto je zrakoplovstvo jedan od prinosnika globalnom zagađenju. U ovom radu obrađen je proces izgaranja mlaznog goriva te je prezentiran sastav ispušnih plinova. Prezentirane su također propisi, globalni i lokalni, koji služe za regulaciju i ograničenje zrakoplovnih emisija u današnjem svijetu. Predstavljeni su poznati načini računanja i praćenja emisija, od kojih posebno program IMPACT, koji je razvijen od EUROCONTROL-a i koji služi za brzo i jednostavno računanje i prikaz emisija. Rad programa IMPACT je detaljno opisan u ovom radu te je primijenjen na računanje emisija odlaznih i dolaznih letova na Zračnoj luci Frankfurt kao jednoj od najvećih luka Europe. Prikazane su emisije odlaznih i dolaznih letova zajedno i pojedinačno, te su analizirane prisutne razlike u dobivenim rezultatima.The impact of air traffic emissions on global warming and environmental pollution has been a significant topic in the aviation industry for a long time, as aviation is one of the contributors to global pollution. This paper addresses the combustion process of jet fuel and presents the composition of exhaust gases. The regulations, both global and local, that serve to regulate and limit aviation emissions in today's world are also presented. Well-known methods for calculating and monitoring emissions are discussed, including the IMPACT software, developed by EUROCONTROL, which is used for quick and easy calculation and display of emissions. The functionality of the IMPACT software is described in detail in this paper, and it is applied to calculate the emissions of departing and arriving flights at Frankfurt Airport, one of the largest airports in Europe. Emissions from departing and arriving flights are presented collectively and individually, and any differences in the results are analyzed

    Cestovna rasvjeta temeljni je čimbenik sigurne vožnje noću i treba omogućiti dobro zapažanje svih mogućih zapreka i detalja na cesti radi što sigurnijeg upravljanja motornim vozilom i omogućiti smanjenje broja prometnih nezgoda. Jako važnu funkciju u informiranju vozača ima vidni organ. Preko 90 posto svih obavijesti neophodnih za kretanje u prometu vozač dobiva putem osjeta vida, uočavanja okoline u vidnom polju, prostornog zamjećivanja i adaptacije oka na svijetlost i tamu. Analiziranjem fizikalnih obilježja svjetlosti, osnove cestovne rasvjete, izvora svjetlosti te drugih bitnih pokazatelja vidi se na koji način cestovna rasvjeta utječe na sigurnost prometa te na samog čovjeka.Road lightning is a core factor of the safe night driving and it should enable great observation of all the obstacles and the details on the road in order to make safer driving a motor vehicle and to reduce the number of accidents. The very important fanction in informing drivers is visual organ. Over ninety percent of all notifications necessary for driving we get through our eyes spotting the environment in our visible fielt, the space spotting and adaptation of the eye to light and dark. Analysis of the physical features of the light, basics of the road lightninh, source of light and other important indicators give us the way in which road lightning affects the traffice safety and the human itself

    Zrakoplovna taktika odnosi se na specifične manevre i postupke koje piloti koriste za postizanje ciljeva svoje misije. Zrakoplovne taktike mogu varirati ovisno o vrsti zrakoplova, misiji i operativnom okruženju, ali je ključno da piloti budu podučeni tim taktikama kako bi ostvarili zadaće. Korištenje ratnih igara kao alata za podučavanje vojne taktike i strategije je popularna metoda obuke dugi niz godina. Ove igre vojnicima pružaju sigurno i kontrolirano okruženje u kojem mogu vježbati svoje vještine i razvijati svoje procese donošenja odluka. Međutim, korištenje ratnih igara u obuci vojnih pilota je područje koje je dobilo relativno malo pažnje u literaturi. Ovim radom prikazane su prednosti uporabe ratnih igara u obuci vojnih pilota, te je ovim radom dizajnirana taktička obrazovna ratna igara temeljena na modernim helikopterskim operacijama i taktikama u združenom okruženju.Aviation tactics refer to the specific maneuvers and procedures that pilots use to achieve their mission objectives. Aviation tactics may vary depending on aircraft type, mission, and operational environment, but it is critical that pilots are taught these tactics in order to accomplish their missions. Using war games as a tool to teach military tactics and strategy has been a popular training method for many years. These games provide soldiers with a safe and controlled environment where they can practice their skills and develop their decision-making process. However, the use of wargaming in military pilots' education is an area that has received relatively little attention in the literature. This paper shows the advantages of using war games in military pilot training, and in this paper a tactical educational war game based on modern helicopter operations and tactics in a joint environment is designed

    Electric Energy Balance of the Pilatus PC-9M Airplane

    U radu je analizirana elektromreža zrakoplova Pilatus PC-9M. Mjerenje jakosti el. struje i el. napona izvora el. energije je provedeno u 5 režima leta: polijetanje, penjanje, krstareći let, spuštanje i slijetanje. Na temelju mjerenja u letu izrađen je dijagram opterećenja izvora el. energije za zrakoplov koji je korišten pri analizi elektroenergetske bilance zrakoplova za dva leta; jedan u uobičajenoj eksploataciji, a drugi sa uključenim svim el. potrošačima. Nadalje, analiziran je utjecaj pojedinih el. potrošača na autonomiju akumulatora u slučaju otkaza generatora. Dobiveni izmjereni rezultati su uspoređeni sa teorijskim izračunom prema propisanoj proceduri u slučaju otkaza generatora prema podacima iz AFM-a i AMM-a. Zaključeno je da je razlika u el. potrošnji u različitim režimima relativno mala, a najveća el. potrošnja je u režimu slijetanja. Nadalje, pri maksimalnom opterećenju (let noću u uvjetima zaleđivanja), el. potrošnja je veća za 44,8 % nego u normalnom letu danju. Osim toga, dokazano je da autonomija zrakoplovne elektromreže u slučaju otkaza generatora dopušta pilotu dovoljno vremena za sigurno prizemljenje zrakoplova i u najgorim uvjetima, kada je opterećenje izvora el. energije maksimalno.The electrical network of the Pilatus PC-9M aircraft is analyzed in this paper. Measurements of electrical current and voltage from the power source were carried out in 5 flight modes: takeoff, climb, cruising, descent, and landing. Based on in-flight measurements, a load diagram of the aircraft power source was created and used in the analysis of the aircraft's electrical balance for two flights; one in normal operation and the other with all electrical consumers switched on. Furthermore, the impact of individual electrical consumers on battery autonomy in case of generator failure was analyzed. The obtained measured results were compared with theoretical calculations according to the prescribed procedure in case of generator failure based on data from the AFM and AMM. It was concluded that the difference in electrical consumption in different modes is relatively small, with the highest electrical consumption being during landing. Furthermore, at maximum load (night flying in icing conditions), electrical consumption is 44,8% higher than during normal daytime flying. Additionally, it has been proven that the autonomy of the aircraft electrical network in case of generator failure allows the pilot enough time for a safe landing, even in the worst conditions when the load on the power source is at its maximum

    Razvoj podupirajućih tehnologija će pružiti veliku brzinu prijenosa podataka, nisku latenciju i pouzdanost, što bi moglo biti ključno za daljnji razvoj autonomnih vozila. Visoka brzina prijenosa podataka omogućuje vozilima da brzo preuzimaju i obrađuju velike količine podataka prikupljenih različitim tehnologijama i uređajima, npr. senzori, kamere itd. To će poboljšati sposobnost autonomnih vozila za brzo i precizno reagiranje na promjene u okruženju. Niska latencija 5G mreže omogućuje da se informacije između vozila i mreže prenose gotovo trenutno, čime se poboljšava vrijeme reakcije vozača na promjene u okruženju. To je posebno važno za autonomna vozila koja se mogu kretati velikim brzinama i moraju trenutno reagirati na promjene u prometu. Povećana pouzdanost 5G mreže smanjuje mogućnost gubitka signala ili prekida komunikacije između vozila i infrastrukture. Ovo je važno za autonomna vozila koja se oslanjaju na neprekidnu komunikaciju s drugim vozilima i infrastrukturom kako bi sigurno i učinkovito djelovala. Ukratko, 5G mreža će biti ključan faktor za daljnji razvoj autonomnih vozila, pružajući im velike brzine prijenosa podataka, nisku latenciju i povećanu pouzdanost. Ove karakteristike 5G mreže omogućit će autonomnim vozilima da brzo i precizno reagiraju na promjene u okruženju te da budu sigurnija i učinkovitija u svojim aktivnostima.The development of supporting technologies will provide high data transfer speed, low latency and reliability, which could be crucial for the further development of autonomous vehicles. High data transfer rate allows vehicles to quickly download and process large amounts of data collected by various technologies and devices, e.g., Sensors, cameras, etc. This will improve the ability of autonomous vehicles to respond quickly and accurately to changes in the environment. The low latency of the 5G network allows information to be transmitted between the vehicle and the network almost instantaneously, improving the driver’s reaction time to changes in the environment. This is especially important for autonomous vehicles that can move at high speeds and must react instantly to changes in traffic. The increased reliability of the 5G network reduces the possibility of signal loss or interruption of communication between the vehicle and the infrastructure. This is important for autonomous vehicles that rely on continuous communication with other vehicles and infrastructure to operate safely and efficiently. In short, the 5G network will be a key factor for the further development of autonomous vehicles, providing them with high data transfer speeds, low latency and increased reliability. These characteristics of the 5G network will allow autonomous vehicles to react quickly and precisely to changes in the environment and to be safer and more efficient in their activities

    Opasni predmeti (Foreign Object Debris - FOD) predstavljaju ozbiljnu opasnost na zračnim lukama. Ovaj rad istražuje različite metode detekcije te metode ostalih komponenta sveobuhvatnog programa upravljanja FOD-om. Također, rad analizira vizualni pregled, radarske sustave i elektro-optičke senzore uključujući njihove prednosti i nedostatke. Iako automatizacija sustava detekcije ima prednosti kao što je brza identifikacija, ručna detekcija opasnih predmeta ne može biti u potpunosti zamijenjena. Pravilna dokumentacija detekcije i uklanjanja FOD-a omogućuje analizu trendova za poboljšanja u budućnosti. Fokus rada je sveobuhvatan pristup FOD-u, naglašavajući važnost odgovarajućih metoda i sustava upravljanja sigurnošću kako bi se osigurala zaštita zračnog prometa od potencijalnih opasnosti.Foreign Object Debris represents a severe danger at airports. This paper explores different detection methods and methods of other components of a comprehensive FOD management program. Also, the paper analyzes visual inspection, radar systems and electrooptical sensors, including their advantages and disadvantages. Although the automation of the detection system has advantages such as rapid identification, manual detection of dangerous objects cannot be replaced entirely. Proper documentation of FOD detection and removal allows trend analysis for future improvements. The work focuses on a comprehensive approach to FOD, emphasizing the importance of appropriate safety management methods and systems to protect air traffic from potential hazards

    „Značajke intermodalnih transportnih lanaca“ je rad koji zadire u temu intermodalnog transporta kao ključni faktor za optimizaciju logističkih procesa te unaprjeđenje prometnog sustava. Za osiguravanje brzog, efikasnog i ekološki prihvatljivog prijevoza robe, intermodalni transport uparuje razne transportne modove. Rad naglašava važnost povezanosti i međusobne suradnje transportnih grana uključujući; cestovni, željeznički, zračni te pomorski prijevoz i prijevoz unutarnjih plovnih puteva. „Značajke intermodalnih transportnih lanaca“ također istražuje ključne faze intermodalnih transportnih lanaca, poput: spajanja i povezivanja, promjena transportnog moda te razdvajanja tereta u blizini odredišta. Nadalje, navode se prednosti raznih transportnih grana. Tako se željeznički promet, pomorski i riječni transport odvija s ciljem postizanja maksimalne efikasnosti, a cestovni transport služi za najkraći dovoz. Na osnovi provedenih analiza učinaka intermodalnog transporta na gospodarski sektor, ovaj rad naglašava tendenciju za standardiziranim prijevoznim jedinicama, koja uz pomoć suvremenih mehanizama za pretovar omogućuje nesmetani prijenos robe. Zahvaljujući svojoj pouzdanosti i ekonomskoj učinkovitosti, može se reći da je uloga intermodalnog transporta ključna za modernizaciju prometnog sustava.„Characteristics of intermodal transport chains“ is a work that touches on the subject of intermodal transport as a key factor for the optimization of logistics processes and the improvement of the transport system. To ensure fast, efficient and environmentally friendly transport of goods, intermodal transport combines various transport modes. The work emphasizes the importance of connection and mutual cooperation of transport branches including; road, rail, air and sea transport and inland waterway transport. „Features of Intermodal Transport Chains“ also explores the key stages of intermodal transport chains, such as: merging and linking, changing the transport mode, and separating cargo near the destination. Furthermore, the advantages of various transport branches are stated. Thus, rail transport, maritime and river transport is carried out with the aim of achieving maximum efficiency, while road transport is used for the shortest delivery. Based on the analyzes of the effects of intermodal transport on the economic sector, this work emphasizes the tendency for standardized transport units, which with the help of modern transshipment mechanisms enable the smooth transfer of goods. Thanks to its reliability and economic efficiency, it can be said that the role of intermodal transport is crucial for the modernization of the transport system

    Airplane Operation with Reduced and Derated Jet Engine Takeoff Thrust

    Upotreba smanjenog potiska kod polijetanja mlaznog zrakoplova omogućava zrakoplovnim prijevoznicima kontrolu performansi motora, kao i smanjenje troškova održavanja. Također, polijetanje sa smanjenim potiskom omogućava smanjenje buke, što je jako bitno u urbanim područjima, također smanjuje se količina štetnih plinova koji izlaze iz motora te se povećava sigurnost operacija koja je povezana sa dužim trajanjem motora. Prilikom korištenja smanjenog potiska, duljina staze potrebna za zatrčavanje je veća, a s tim i potrošnja goriva ostaje približno jednaka kao i polijetanje sa TOGA potiskom. U ovom završnom radu opisani su zahtjevi za polijetanje sa smanjenim potiskom sa aspekta zrakoplovnih propisa, opisano je utjecaj vanjske temperature na polijetanje zrakoplova, na koji način se dobiva temperatura FLEX potiska, opisano je kako se polijetanje mlaznog zrakoplova sa smanjenim potiskom izvodi na eksploatacijskom primjeru Airbus A320. Proizvođač zrakoplova izradio je procedure smanjenog potiska polijetanja u skladu sa zahtjevima od strane EASA-e koji se nalaze u dokumentu CS-25 i preporučio za korištenje tijekom eksploatacije zrakoplova. Prilikom primjene procedure, piloti moraju biti svjesni kako smanjenje potiska utječe na upravljivost zrakoplova i na propisane brzine prilikom polijetanja.The use of reduced take off thrust allows airlines to have greater control of engine performance and also to reduce costs of engine maintenance. Also, take off with reduced thrust reduces noise, what is very important in urban cities, also it reduces exhaust emissions which go out of engine and it increases safety of operation which is connected with longer lifespan of engines. Using reduced take-off thrust, take off run required increases, and with that fuel consumption remains almost the same as take off with TOGA thrust. The final thesis describes the regulatory requirements for reduced take off, it describes the influence of outside air temperature on take off, on which way we get the temperature for flex thrust and it describes how is reduced take off thrust used in real life on example of Airbus A320. The aircraft manufacturer has developed reduced takeoff thrust procedures in accordance with the requirements of EASA contained in document CS-25 and recommended for use during the operation of the aircraft. When applying the procedure, pilots must be aware of how the reduction in thrust affects the maneuverability of the aircraft and the prescribed takeoff speeds
