The Institutional Transformation of the Digital Values of Ukrainian Society
CC BY-NC-ND 4.0This article examines the impact of digitalization on the values of Ukrainian
youth as a driving force of Ukrainian society. The method of social research was used alongside econometric models to test the hypotheses. An online survey was conducted from November 2020 to January 2021, in which 115 young people took part. The results showed that
traditional values (absolute and family) have a high level of priority for Ukrainian youth.
The importance of social values is differentiated and heterogeneous, and digital values are also becoming increasingly important. However, at present they occupy the lowest position
in the structure of values. The results of this study can be useful for the development of public institutions, building a modern youth regional policy, and in the formation and adaptation of development strategies for universities, public institutions, and non-governmental
organizations
The needs and potential of non-formal adult education: the case of Panevėžys city
CC BY-NC-ND 4.0Adult education, as a separate element of non-formal education, has been
analyzed in the scientific literature for more than a decade. Research on adult education
in the context of sustainable development has increased dramatically in recent years, and
the number of studies initiated by international organizations associated with comparative investigations into the competences of adults is increasing. The non-formal education
of adults is being updated in the context of the knowledge economy. The purpose of non-formal adult education is defined not only as the encouragement of personal improvement processes and integration on the labor market, but also as securing the socialization and social welfare of an ageing individual. A range of scientists have disclosed links
between the involvement of adults in non-formal education and the improvement of their
quality of life. It has been established that only incidental investigations have actualized
the importance of non-formal adult education in the context of continuous education,
and that research concerning the needs of seniors is scarce. With consideration of the
above, this study formulates the following question: What is the need for non-formal education in a specific municipality in Lithuania? For the purpose of identifying the needs
and potential of non-formal adult education in the city of Panevėžys, the methodological approach of quantitative research was chosen. This research was modelled following the case-study strategy, and was performed in September–December of 2019 among
407 adults from Panevėžys in cooperation with the administration of the Panevėžys City
Municipality. It was established by this research that the greatest needs expressed by the
adults of Panevėžys were for English language, self-knowledge, stress management, and
health promotion training, and the most attractive ways of learning for them were practical training and educational trips/travel. The most acceptable form of learning was a 2–3
hour course in the evenings, in winter and autumn. The main desires for participation
in non-formal adult education were the ambition for self-improvement, spending leisure
time, and satisfying the need for socializing. By participating in training, the research
participants observed that they improved their knowledge, expanded their horizons, and
spent their leisure time meaningfully. Non-formal education services are available for
adults in Panevėžys, and the best satisfaction levels were observed in self-education training that addressed the following needs: self-knowledge, health promotion/healthy lifestyle,
conflict management, positive communication, and stress management. Less satisfied
were the needs of those attempting to improve their English language skills
Financing of Capital Investments in Ensuring Economic Security of Non-Financials Corporations in Ukraine
The purpose of the research is to define the place of capital investments financing sources in ensuring
economic security of non-financial corporations in terms of transition the Ukrainian economy to the Industry 4.0.
Dialectical cognition method, methods of complex analysis of economic phenomena, logical generalization, as
well as financial analysis of business processes were used in the investigation. The concept of capital investments
financing sources was analysed from the point of view of modern national and foreign scientists. The peculiarities
of capital investments financing in current conditions of economic development of Ukraine are determined
according to the sources of their formation and fields of economic activity of non-financial corporations. The
dominance of own sources in the capital structure were revealed. Such a structure indicates the financial capacity
of enterprises to invest, on the other hand, the extremely low level of external financing, which does not increase
over the years, indicates limited opportunities for renovations and accelerated growth for the Ukrainian non-
financial sector. The place of depreciation fund in the capital investments financing was underlined due to
possibilities of transition the Ukrainian economy to the Industry 4.0. The level of financing of innovations and its
share in GDP of the country were analyzed and the correspondence of such kind of financing with possibilities of
ensuring the economic security of the country and its digitalization was identified. As a results of the conducted
research it was determined that the main sources of financing capital investment by non-financial corporations in
Ukraine is equity and companies should pay attention to increasing external sources; the high level of tangible
assets depreciation lead to spending all financing of capital investment into repair in order to keep the operational
activity on the necessary level, that why companies do not have the opportunity to develop themselves through
increasing financing of innovations; in such conditions there is no opportunity to support transformation of the
country to the Industry 4.0 by non-financial corporations and level of economic security of the country could be
considered as low

The Effects of Image Composition on the Effectiveness of Visual Advertisements
Images are an integral part of any visual advertisement, regardless of medium. Whether online banner, digital screen, or wall poster, the decisions of professional designers on how to compose those images are often based on specific rules of composition that describe proper cropping or object placement techniques. However, existing research shows that even individual visual elements can affect the complexity of an image and influence cognitive processing, which, in turn, can affect not only attention or memory, but also the emotional reaction of the viewer. This study aims to explore the influences of some popular composition techniques on the perceived complexity of an image, and their possible impacts on the effectiveness of visual advertisements – specifically, public service announcements (PSAs) promoting pro-environmental behavior. To this end, two experiments were conducted. The first experiment explored the role of image composition characteristics on the perceived complexity of a picture, and evoked emotions by manipulating the level of cropping and object merging in images. The results of this experiment demonstrated that composition affected image complexity ratings, and at the same time that simplicity correlated with the positive valence of the emotional reaction evoked. The second experiment assessed the impact of image complexity on the effectiveness of PSAs. After observing PSAs containing more complex images, participants demonstrated significantly higher intentions to behave pro-environmentally. This effect was not influenced by the different types of text-based messages used in the PSAs. These findings demonstrate that composition is an important factor that can have a significant impact on the effectiveness of visual advertisements by influencing the attention, emotions, and intentions of viewers of advertisements
The Assessment of Nurses’ Knowledge on the Covid-19 Preventive Measures
Covid-19 is a new virus that has been under observation since its outbreak in 2019. The virus is characterized by a
rapid and difficult-to-control spread which results in a high number of patients’ death due to complications. Yet, proper
use of preventive measures can significantly reduce the spread of this virus.
The objective of this article is to determine the knowledge of nurses on the Covid-19 preventive measures. The
methodology of the research: a quantitative research was carried out, applying an anonymous questionnaire method. 113
nurses participated in the research. Due to the quarantine in Lithuania, nurses responded to the questionnaire online. The
research was conducted from 11 November, 2020 till 16 November, 2020. Based on the data provided, it was found that the
nurses are interested in the information on Covid-19. As this topic is new and relevant, nurses want to learn more on safety
while nursing patients diagnosed with Covid-19. The research revealed that a majority of nurses know how to safely put
on and take off a face mask and how often to replace it with a new one. In addition, most nurses know what instructions
to give for caregivers that look after patients at home
Sharing Economy in Lithuania: Steady Development with Focus on Transportation Sector
CC BY 4.0The sharing economy is a new and underdeveloped phenomenon in Lithuania, starting
from the definition of the concept ina state’s legal framework and scarce statistics. The
aim of the paper is to describe the trends of the digitally supported sharing economy
in Lithuania. Available national and international information and data were analysed.
It was shown that the most popular services in Lithuania there is the transport sector,
in the second place there is the accommodation sector, in the third - food-related
services. The reasons why Lithuanians offer services via collaborative platforms mostly
concern additional sources of income and flexible working hours. Over two-thirds of
the habitants express their positive attitudes towards sharing economy and
collaborative platforms, and over ninety per cent would recommend other services
offered via collaborative platforms. Though 97% of the Lithuanians have never offered
the services via sharing economy and collaborative platforms, and it is mostly because

in the future, the principles of these phenomena are going to be used in an even
broader scope of the sectors

CC BY-NC-NDThis article aims to review the main differences between the regulation
of remunerated crowdfunding in the European Union and the United States of America.
In particular, the aim is to reveal the main ways of investing in the US before 2012 and
after the amendments to the US Federal Securities Act were adopted, which provide
for the possibility to invest through crowdfunding portals. The key elements of the new
crowdfunding regulation are reviewed, such as the ways in which additional information about the project is provided to potential investors, the classification of investors
and the amounts they can invest, what investment transactions they can enter into,
and whether they are free to dispose of their investments. These elements are compared
between US and EU regulations, where their differences and the arguments for choosing
such a regulation are revealed. This analysis is important to determine whether the SF
