アラミドロッドとビニロン繊維および膨張材による腐食しやすい鋼材を使用しないコンクリート梁部材の提案
2050年カーボンニュートラル実現のために,セメント量を低減した環境配慮型コンクリートの開発が進められているが,セメント量の低減は中性化の進行による鉄筋コンクリートの鋼材腐食発生が懸念される。本研究では,アラミドロッドとビニロン繊維および膨張材を使用したコンクリート梁部材を作製し,鉄筋コンクリート梁部材と剛性の比較を行った。その結果,ビニロン繊維混入率を4%とすることで,鉄筋コンクリート梁部材と同程度の最大曲げ荷重と初期剛性を得ることができた。また,アラミドロッドの本数を増すことにより曲げひび割れ後の二次勾配を鉄筋コンクリート梁部材に近づけられる可能性があることがわかった。journal articl
A case of vitiligo that followed the path of a varicose vein in the lower leg
Vitiligo is an acquired chronic depigmenting disorder of the skin and is characterized by the destruction of melanocytes. One of the clinical features of vitiligo is that damage to normal skin frequently results in the formation of depigmented macules, which is known as Köebner’s phenomenon (KP). Here, we presented a case of vitiligo, in which depigmented macules followed the course of a dilated varicose vein. Dilatation of blood vessels was considered to contribute to the development of the vitiliginous lesions as a trigger for KP. Any kind of skin injury can trigger KP, but this is only the second case in which a dilated blood vessel caused KP in vitiligo.journal articl
新型コロナウイルスとインフルエンザウイルスの基礎
In Japan, novel coronavirus infection(COVID-19) was moved to category 5 infection in May 2023. Although the fatality rate has decreased compared to the early phase of the pandemic, the novel coronavirus(SARS-CoV-2) is expected to continue to exist among humans with repeated mutations in the future due to its strong infectious ability.
In addition to COVID-19, other emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases such as H1N1 novel influenza, H5N1 avian influenza, Middle East respiratory syndrome, Ebola hemorrhagic fever(Ebola virus disease), Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome(SFTS) and Zika fever have recently become public concerns. As a common feature, these infectious diseases are caused by RNA viruses. In this article, focusing on SARS-CoV-2 and influenza viruses, which are frequently seen in clinical sites in Japan, basic knowledge on the replication process of both viruses and the mechanism of action of antivirals will be reviewed.journal articl
Reliability and validation of the Japanese version of the cognitive distortion scale
The cognitive distortion scale (CDS) is a self-rated measure to assess the degree of cognitive distortion which is 10 thinking errors commonly seen in depression. However, there is no scale to measure 10 types cognitive distortions specific to depression in Japan. Therefore, this study translated the CDS into Japanese (CDS-J), and examined its factor structure, validity, and reliability in a Japanese population. A total of 237 healthy individuals and 39 individuals with depression participated in this study. Confirmatory factor analysis indicated the appropriateness of the CDS-J’s 10-factor structure. Regarding convergent validity, CDS-J was significantly correlated with dysfunctional attitudes, negative automatic thoughts, and depression. Regarding discriminant validity, the CDS-J showed no significant correlation with positive automatic thoughts. The total CDS-J scores of the healthy participants and of those with major depression were compared. The results showed significant differences between groups. Finally, the CDS-J was found to have a high test–retest reliability. Therefore, the CDS-J is a valid and reliable tool for assessing cognitive distortions in Japan.journal articl
Total synthesis of 1,4a-di-epi-ent-pancratistatin, exemplifying a stereodivergent approach to pancratistatin isomers
The total synthesis of 1,4a-di-epi-ent-pancratistatin, a novel stereoisomer of the anti-tumor Amaryllidaceae alkaloid pancratistatin, was achieved in 14 steps starting from D-mannitol. The construction of the pancratistatin skeleton involved conjugate addition of organocuprate to a nitrosoolefin, which was generated in situ from inosose oxime. This was followed by stereoselective reduction of the oxime to an amine and site-selective formylation. Biological evaluations revealed that the newly synthesized compounds exhibit cytotoxicity toward cancer cells and significant ferroptosis inhibitory activity. These compounds constitute a promising small-molecule library for the development of potent bioactive agents.journal articl
Axiomatic Method of Measure and Integration (IX). Definition of Curvilinear R-integral and its Fundamental Properties
In this paper, we define the concept of the length of a plane curve C. Then we define the measure space (C,BC,ν) as the image measure space on the curve C of the Jordan measure space (I,B,µ) on the interval I. These measure spaces are the measure spaces of Jordan type. Then we define the curvilinear R-integral of a measurable function on C and we study its fundamental properties by using the axiomatic method of measure and integration. Postmortem temporal chest CT and its pathological correlation in piglets
Post-mortem computed tomography (PMCT) is a useful tool to investigate the cause of death. To appropriately use PMCT for cause-of-death analysis, it is necessary to know natural courses after death such as hypostasis in the lungs. We aimed to investigate the natural time-course change of postmortem chest CT findings and its pathological correlation in piglets. Serial chest PMCT scans of four piglets were performed each hour for 24 h and the chronological changes of the lung were evaluated. Immediately after the final CT scan, the autopsy was conducted and bilateral lungs were taken for pathological examination. Two additional piglets were sacrificed and pathological specimens were prepared immediately after death for reference. On pulmonary PMCT, ground glass attenuation (GGA) appeared after the first several hours and increased gradually. Histologically, GGA corresponded to pulmonary edema. The time-related increase in CT attenuation was more prominent in the dorsal lung. Consolidation, endotracheal air defects, and pleural effusion were not observed on PMCT. GGA appeared after the first several hours and increased gradually, and it corresponded to pulmonary edema. GGA in the lung as one of the natural postmortem processes needs to be distinguished from pathogenic findings depending on the time elapsed since death.journal articl
Comparison of endogenous hypothalamic and serum OT levels between young and middle-aged perimenopausal female rats
Oxytocin (OT) regulates food intake and body weight, particularly in obese individuals. Decreases in the effects of OT have recently been implicated in metabolic disturbances, and the administration of estradiol (E2) increased serum OT levels. Although weight gain is frequently observed in perimenopausal women, endogenous OT levels remain unclear. Therefore, we herein compared endogenous levels of hypothalamic and serum OT between young and middle-aged perimenopausal female rats and examined the relationship between serum estrogen and leptin levels. Body weight and visceral and subcutaneous fat weights were higher in middle-aged rats. Although no significant differences were observed in serum OT and E2 levels, serum leptin levels and hypothalamic mRNA levels of OT and the OT receptor (OTR) were significantly higher in middle-aged rats than in young rats. Serum OT levels did not correlate with hypothalamic OT mRNA levels or serum E2 levels. E2 maintains serum OT levels in perimenopausal rats, and other factors may elevate hypothalamic OT/OTR mRNA levels. Increases in body and fat weights in perimenopausal rats may be attributed to factors other than OT. Therefore, the administration of OT alone may not be sufficient to prevent metabolic disorders induced by the perimenopausal status.doctoral thesi
