Si Wafer Subsurface Characterization Using Microwave Photoconductivity Frequency Responses
application/pdfPhotoconductivity frequency responses (PCF) method with blue laser photoexcitation has been developed for evaluating surface and subsurface property. Carrier lifetimes obtained from PCF measurements for silicon wafers has revealed to correspond to that determined from surface and subsurface lifetimes, due to comparing with lifetime by Bi-surface photoconductivity decay. PCF photoconductivity amplitude reflected nearbysurface damage induced by H2+ ion implantation. PCF reflected microroughness and subsurface damage induced by chemomechanical polishing.departmental bulletin pape

Landau Diamagnetism in a Thin Film and Density Matrix
application/pdfThe unified theory of Landau diamagnetism for both in thin film and in large system is developped on the basis of the density matrix. The density matrix for thin film is solved by Laplace transform. It is clarified why the steady terms of both agree. This method makes possible to calculate the 2-dimensional susceptibility, which leads to the result of great interest that there appears an oscillating term of an enormous magnitude.departmental bulletin pape

Analyzing Two-terminal Networks Availability and their Approximate Estimation
application/pdfThis paper describes a new algorithm to calculate availabilities of communication networks by using principle of optimality of dynamic programing (DP). It is wel known that state space decomposition method to calculate availabilities of communication networks is one of problems of NP-hard. Therefore, it is important to reduce computationalco mplexity. The proposed algorithm gives a procedure to save the size of binary tree on the way of state space decomposition. In the algorithm, the calculation of a part consisting of high network availability is taken place prior to other parts. From the feature of this algorithm, this paper also proposes the method to calculate the lower bound of network availability, and decomposition and reduction method to apply this algorithm to large scale networks.departmental bulletin pape
Numerical Method for Algebraic Equation by high-precision Calculation
application/pdfIt is very important to solve algebraic equations numerically. Although many methods for these equations have been developed by many resercher, it is very difficult to solve them precisely. In this paper, it is shown that these equations can be solved easily by high precision calcultion.departmental bulletin pape
Basic Study on the Charging Methods of the Stand-alone Hybrid Power Generation System with Small Wind Power and Solar Cell
application/pdfThis paper describes two charging methods of the stand-alone hybrid power generation system with small wind power (WG) and solar cell (PV). In one method, the generated electric powers with WG and PV are controlled by one apparatus and charged to the same batteries. In another method, these powers are controlled by individual apparatus and charged to each battery. The energy is supplied to the load from the higher voltage battery. From the basic experimental study, we obtain the suggestive result that the latter method is effective.departmental bulletin pape
Generalizing and Extending Document Attributes Extraction Tool in Document Clustering -Attribute Extraction and Information Visualization on Classifying-
application/pdfIn this article, we propose a generalizing and extending method of information extraction tool for clinical case clustering system using Self-Organizing Maps (SOM). This system runs on our WWW based DBMS (Database Management System) for clinical cases. The system was implemented in Java and C++ on the Internet server, and all documents of clinical case in the database are written in Japanese. Our method is available to design widely some SOM based clustering systems for medical information.departmental bulletin pape
Magnetie Ion Mole Fraction Dependency of the Density of States, Optical Absorption Edges and Band Edges in Diluted Magnetic Semiconductors
application/pdfApplying the coherent potential approximation (CPA) with the t matrix elements to diluted magnetic semiconductors (DMS) of A 1-x Mn x B type, we calculate the density of states and the optical absorption edge in DMS's. Based on these numerical results, we evaluate the approximate expression for the band edge energy. In the appendix, we show a comparison between the approximate solution and the exact one for band edge energy of magnetic semiconductors.departmental bulletin pape
Anamorphosis and Numerology in Richard Crashaw
application/pdfThe purpose of this paper is to consider anamorphosis and numerology in Richard Crashaw's "TheFlaming Heart". Praz (1970) regarded this religious poem on St. Teresa as the most condensed expression of "spiritualization of sense" in the seventeenth-century literature. Fowler (1970) referred slightly to Crashaw's use of temporal numerology in Epithalamium "Come virgin Tapers of pure waxe", but little attention has been given to his number symbolism. Gilman (1978) discussed the "curious perspective" in the metaphysical poets, and Schwenger (1976) is the detailed study of Crashaw's "perspectivist metaphor" in "The Weeper". The first section analyzes Crashaw's use of numerology of the center,a nd also of the symbolic number 5, 32, 33, 72 in "The Flaming Heart". The second section interprets anamorphosis in this poem commenting on the picture of "St. Teresa in ecstacy" (the scene recorded in her autobiography). The anamorphic figure in this poem is Teresa pierced with the angel's dart of love. The final section discusses Teresa symbolized by the number 9 of Dante's Beatrice and Bruno's heroic enthusiast.departmental bulletin pape
