On 7-semigroups Generated by 4 Elements
Get PDFapplication/pdfThis paper is devoted to constructing an affine toric variety from a 7-semigroup generated by 4 elemetns such that the monomial curve associated with the 7-semigroup is a specialization of the toric variety. A 7-semigroup means a numerical semigroup starting with 7. We know that if we can construct such an affine toric variety from a given numerical semigroup, then the numerical semigroup is Weierstrass1). Hand-written Cursive Character Segmentation
Get PDFapplication/pdfThe purpose of this paper is the character segmentation of handwritten cursive script written in English. Many of current methods segment one character to many small regions. A number of high performance segmentation methods have been proposed in cooperating with character recognition. But, most of application needs high performance even if character recognition results are not used. Here, our method does not use any results of character recognition and segments on cursive script using some specific feature of writing. In order to evaluate our proposed method, we have constructed a cursive handwritten script database. As a result of the evaluation, about 75% of characters could be segmented at appropriate points and about 45% of cursive words could be segmented at correct number of characters.departmental bulletin pape
Relationships between a Catfish and Earthquakes Based on an Experimental Study (2nd Report : How did a Catfish Behave before Earthquakes?)
Get PDFapplication/pdfThe catfishes are said sensitive fishes for electronic signs, so that when earthquakes occur, they will move more actively. In this study by means of an experimental method, the relationships between catfishes, tropical fishes and earthquakes those magnitude are over 6.0 and/or are sensitive earthquakes in Kanagawa, were cleared. In results, the prediction of those earthquakes by counting of movements for catfishes and tropical fishes are success in about 50%. This study has suggested that the breeding of fishes is one of a useful method for prediction of earthquakes by using of an experimental study quantitatively.departmental bulletin pape

Investigation of Recognition for Box-shaped Object

In our previous work, a method of selecting an object to hold by the robot arm was proposed, and was experimentally examined by using computer generated images. As the second step of this study, this paper describes a method of estimating value of the three dimensional coordinate of vertex of object by using real images. Falling Motion of the Aluminum Can, which Introduced Water in the Strong Magnetic Field
Get PDFapplication/pdfWe measured the falling time of cylindrical vessel made of the aluminum in the strong magnetic field. Falling time of the central 10 T magnetic field strength is lengthened in comparison with natural magnetic field. The falling time of the vessel, which added the water, shortens more in proportion to the weight of the water. The falling time was approximately calculated by the modeling. If dynamic loads can be identified exactly, it will become possible to provide data effective in reduction of vibration and noise. However, by the method of identification of dynamic loads of the conventional multiple input systems, noise has big influence on the accuracy. Estimation of the Angle and Angular Velocity of a Pendulum by Acceleration Signals
Get PDFapplication/pdfIn this paper, we propose an estimation method of the angle and angular velocity from the acceleration signals that are gathered by two acceleration sensors mounted on a moving target. It is assumed that the acceleration sensor is able to measure simultaneously two components of the acceleration that are relatively crossed at the right angles. Two sensors are mounted on the rotation body with same distance and other sides form the rotation axis. We obtain the relation between the 4 acceleration signlas. Numerical Method for Non-linear Equation by Taylor Series
Get PDFapplication/pdfThe arithmetic operations and functions of Taylor series can be defined by C++ language easily. The functions which consist of arithmetic operations, pre-defined functions and conditional statements can be expanded in Taylor series. Using this, the solution of an ordinary differential equation can be expanded in Taylor series. The solution can be expanded up to arbitrary order. The inverse function can be defined as solution of the ordinay differential function. Therefore we can get the arbitrary order Taylor series of the inverse function easily. We can solve a non-linear equation easily by this Taylor series. In addition, we can transform Taylor series into Pade series, which give arbitrary order, high precision solution for the non-linear equation.departmental bulletin pape
