Distributed XML Data Sharing System Using Web Services
application/pdfIn this paper, we propose a system for sharing distributed XML data to organizations based on Web services technologies. In our system, organizations add some tags to a template, which is a common part of the tags among the XML data of them, and inform each other the tags. The system consists of tag accumulating server, data providing servers, and application servers. These servers communicate with each other by SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol). The tag accumulating server stores and provides the tags which are added to the template. The data providing server searches for XML data which the organization manages. As a result of prototype system, which is to share welfare information, we found that an organization could easily register the tags which the organization added to the template with the accumulating server and distributed XML data could be exchanged properly among organizations.departmental bulletin pape
An Approach to Electrical Phenomenon by the Finite Differnce Method
application/pdfIn this paper, we propose an mstruction method of electromagnetism usmg numerical approach. Many electromagnetic phenomenons are expressed as the initial and boundary value problems of some partial differential equations. These problems are solved by the finite difference equations which are easily derived from the differential equations. In this method we can solve the problems in the structure of complicated geometrical environments. We can show the physical meanings of the problems by the simulation in personal computer. For numerical examples, the calculations of the voltage potential in a wave guide with cross section of circle, rectangle and ellipse are presented.departmental bulletin pape
A study on Map-Based Disaster Prevention Information Collecting and Sharing System for Local Residents
application/pdfIn the field of disaster prevention, information from local residents, which is difficult for municipal government officials to grasp, is of great importance. In this paper, we developed a map-based system in which local residents can supply and share disaster prevention information among themselves. In this system, users can register and browse various information about disaster prevention, which is shown by a point on a map that contains areas prone to disasters and updated information. Therefore, they can appropriately understand the town's readiness for disaster prevention. To evaluate the system, we conducted an experiment in Handa City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. Study on the Environmental Stress using the Fluorescent Response of Plants
application/pdfPlants are the only generation source of the oxygen on the earth, therefore the important existence for all living things on the earth. However, plants have been influenced greatly by the global environment pollution in recent years. The environmental pollution has never been measured though there is an analysis based on the reflection of plants at the near infrared region in one of the vegetation index methods from the satellite. Recently we have been developing the blue LED excited fluorescent method for measuring the health condition of plants. This method is very useful for monitoring the stress condition of plants. In this paper, the method for measuring the influence of the environmental stress on plants using blue LED excited fluorescence method is described, and the reactions of plants are also discussed when the environmental stress is actually given.departmental bulletin pape
The Cognitive Structure on Environmental Pollution(5) -A Study of Factor Analysis on Pollution Scale-
application/pdfThis study was carried out to clarify the cognitive structure of young people on environmental pollution. Subjects were 191 college students. They were asked to express their degree of approval or disapproval on statements related to environmental pollution. Two different factor analysis were administerd and same five factors were extracted. Those factors were called resignation, nuclear power generation, pessimism, distrust, and optimism. The result of cluster analysis resembled the factor analysis in group. The classification of subjects by factor score suggested the developmental change of cognitive structure. The senior students had a tendency to think of enivironmental deterioration, and were in favor of nuclear power generation.departmental bulletin pape
User Identification by using Signature Stroke and Signature Pressure
application/pdfIn the field of user detection, detection methods using biometrical features have been reported in recent years. In this paper, we constructed an online sign detection system using a Hidden Markov Model (HMM). Constructing our user detection system is based on two types of HMM. One HMM is calculated from writing stroke features, another HMM is calculated from writing pressures. In this paper, our constructed HMM user detection system is compared with the sign detection system using simple pattern matching. A new sign database was gathered for the comparative experiments. The sign database consists of 800 sign by 4writers. In our experiment,the detection rate of our method performed 99.8%, which was about 3% better than the system using simple pattern matching. Moreover, HMM parameters for user detection were investigated from our experiment.departmental bulletin pape
Reduction Analysis of Vehicle Interior Noise Using Helmholtz Resonator
application/pdfReduction analysis of noise such as "booming noise" of a vehicle cabin by Helmholtz resonator is carried out by using the Finite Element Method (FEM). As the frequency response of the sound pressure at a passenger's ear position is calculated for the case without a resonator and with a resonator it is shown that the peak at the second resonance frequency of the cabin is split and quite reduced. From the fact that the noise reduction is changed by tuning the length of the throat of a resonator it is proposed that a Origami structure is appropriate for a resonator. Finally it is suggested by the analysis that the large reduction is realized by attaching two resonators to the proper position of a cabin.departmental bulletin pape
