Synthesis and Characterization of Fe-doped Mullite-Research works accomplished by using Electron Microscope System:XVIII

    Get PDF
application/pdfMullite is an important research target in Al2O3-SiO2system, because it has various advantages such as low thermal expansion, high creep resistance and so on. In this study, Fe was doped into mullite by heating at high temperatures. Precursor powder was prepared by mixing mullite with FeO. Then they were directly heated at 1650℃ for 4h in air. X-ray diffraction was performed on these samples in order to examine structure of them. The result was identified with the data of JCPDS. Scanning electron microscopy was performed on these samples in order to examine shape of sample. From the result, it was confirmed that the Fe was doped into mullite by this experiment.departmental bulletin pape

Effective Remedial Education: Attempt of Collaboration with the Scholastic Achievement Support Center in the Fundamental Subject at Department of Applied Chemistry

application/pdfAn Exercise in Fundamental Chemistry', which is held in the first semester of the first grader, is the complementary subject in the Department of Applied Chemistry. We attempted to construct a new and effective educational system in 'the Exercise in Fundamental Chemistry'. The educational systems are based on the following ones; 1) Students work on problems during 'the Exercise in Fundamental Chemistry'. 2) Authors (Yamaguchi and Morikawa) mark problems and then they send problems to tutors (Atsumi and Takahashi) of the Scholastic Achievement Support Center. 3) Students correct mistakes of their own problems with the tutors of the Scholastic Achievement Support Center. 4) Students ask their own questions to the tutors, and they deepen their understanding of chemistry. From evaluation forms, almost students approve this educational system effectively.departmental bulletin pape

application/pdfSome of the works that have been performed with the Electron Microscope System during the period of August 2005 to July 2006 are presented. They include: 1) Synthesis of hydroxyapatite from aqueous solution, 2) Preparation of poly(3-hexylthiophene) particles by reprecipitation, 3) Antibacterial activities of Fe, Ni, Co and Mo metals supported on carbon spheres, and 4) Precipitation of iron oxide particles from iron dissolved alumina ceramic through annealing.departmental bulletin pape

    Numerology in Henry Vaughan

    Get PDF
application/pdfThe purpose of this paper is to consider the numerology in Henry Vaughan's Silex Scintillans. In the analysis of the relationship between the structure of Vaughan's "The Morning-watch" and the structure of John Milton's "On the Morning of Christ's Nativity," Davies(1975) suggests that Vaughan may have been influenced by the number symbolism inherent in the hermetic philosophy of his twin-brother, Thomas Vaughan (the alchemist). Røstvig(1994) reveals the numerological structures present in Henry Vaughan's poems, and concludes that although George Herbert's The Temple had a great influence on Silex Scintillans, Vaughan's structures are "more easily perceived and the concern with number symbolism more pronounced" than Herbert's. The first section attempts to analyze the symbolism of numbers in "The Morning-watch", which provides a clue to the complex and intricate number symbolism in his poetry. The second section deals with the numerical structures of his pattern poems ("The Passion," "Christ's Nativity," and "Ascension-Hymn"), including the symbolism of numbers found in the circular rhyme schemes of his circle-poems ("Trinity-Sunday" and "The Storm"). The third section treats temporal numerology in "The Jews," "Death," "Rules and Lessons," and "The Dawning." The final section discusses his use of symbolic numbers in "Retirement," "Love-sick," "Faith," "The Agreement," "Isaacs Marriage," "St. Mary Magdalen," "Regeneration," "White Sunday," "H. Scriptures," "The Law, and the Gospel," "Buriall," "Affliction," "Ascension-day," and "The Incarnation, and Passion."departmental bulletin pape

Distribution of Palm (Trachycarpus fortunei) grown in River Terrace Cliffs naturally in the west-coast of Nakatsu-river, Sanda Area, Atsugi-shi, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan

application/pdfA growth distribution of the Palm of wild species in the river terrace in the west-coast in Nakatsu-river in the Sanda area in Atugi city was investigated. It was confirmed that the Palm was rapidly increasing in the terrace precipice. It seems to be the place which is suitable for that the terrace precipice grows for the Palm naturally. Because a Palm of wild species is viable in the dim chaparral, it is worried that the habitat area is similarly expanded in terrace precipice and mixed forest of non-management in whole Atsugi city.departmental bulletin pape

A study on spark reduceing design of the business-use large cleaner motor by using with the FEM electromagnetic analysis technique

    Get PDF
application/pdfThe universal motor is used for cleaners of ultra high-speed large capacity (30,000-40,000rpm, 1-3kW input electric power). The main causes are cost and mechanical strength. However, a brush life and a commutation phenomenon are problems. In this research, a universal motor is further pursued technically continueing now. However brushed universal motor are even used in the present, the greatest problem are the life and commutation problems of brushes. In this research, are with a brush type is further pursued but it becomes technically to al imit. So,in this core the design parameters are the size and sparks and generating torque for the iron core's shape are used it. And also increaseing gap length and q axis component of the stator core (Stored magnetic energy in the commutation coil). The result, it can be under standing that q axis makes incleasing torque. But commutation phenomena change with a bad direction. Moreover, when an air gap is changed, the commutation becomes good, but an output decrease. As a result, it becomes an antinomy phenomenon, and turned to it being on a balancing issue with the SPEC.departmental bulletin pape

Relation of diagonal sum to Fermi surface

    Get PDF
application/pdfThe relation of the excitation on the Fermi surface in quantum theory to the excitation of many individual electrons in semi-classical picture is clarified by the invariance of diagonal sum by unitary transformation. The proof is given that the effect of small perturbations on many electrons is equivalent to strong modification of a few electrons on the Fermi surface, so long as the perturbing operator is unitary. The problem of cooling process in thermoelectric effect under a magnetic field, which is difficult to treat in conventional method, is clarified by this correspondence.departmental bulletin pape
