Study on Chest CT image registration based on respiration model
application/pdfWe have developed the respiration model to estimate position change of chest skeleton structure by respiration, using 2 chest CT images (learning image) consist of different air-intake volume of same patient. Average distances between real chest skeleton structures and virtual chest skeleton structures obtained by performing respiration simulation using another patient's chest CT images (test image) were 1.43cm at simple expansion model and 0.84cm at proposal respiration model. We have also developed the automatically and rapid chest skeleton structure extraction algorithm and performed same simulation. Using this algorithm, average distances were 1.13cm at simple expansion model and 0.80cm at proposal respiration model on learning image, and 1.57cm at simple expansion model and 0.92cm at proposal respiration model on test image. Average distances between truth feature-points of chest skeleton structure and automatically extracted feature-points (8 feature-points a image) were 1.41cm on learning image and 1.01cm on test image, and required processing times for extracting feature-points were 1.01sec on learning image (512x512x36lpixel) and 1.28sec on test image (512x512x431 pixel).departmental bulletin pape
The numerical semigroup of toric type at a ramification point on a double covering of a curve
application/pdfLet H be a numerical semigroup of toric type, i.e., a minimal embedding of its monomial curve into the affine space is derived from an embedding of some affine toric variety by substituting monomials. In this paper we mainly treat numerical semigroups H generated by three elements. In some cases we investigate whether there is a double covering π : C → C of a curve over an algebraically closed field k of characteristic O with a ramification point P whose Weiertrass semigroup H(P) is of toric type with H(π(P) =H.departmental bulletin pape
The Boundaries to the EU Expantion -Why does the Netherlands object Turkey's accession to the EU ?
application/pdfIn the Netherlands, religiously and ideologically different groups lived equally in the period of the "pillarization". The institutions of the pillarization had influenced the immigration policies until the 1980's, which were often regarded as the "tolerant" policies. However, as the society got aware of the fact that the immigrant communities were not integrated into the host society during the 1990's, some right-wing populists started to claim that the majority of immigrants were Muslims and they were the ones that causing the problems. This awareness has resulted in the Netherlands rejecting the EU accession of Turkey due to the fact that majority of the Turkish population is Muslims.departmental bulletin pape
New explanation for the rotational period of Foucault pendulum
application/pdfWe propose a new explanation for the rotational period of Foucault pendulum. Taking into account that the transfer distance is different depending on the latitude when the earth rotates, we derive the expression for the rotational period. The new explanation proposed by us is direct and easy to understand comparison with the existing explanation using a cone.departmental bulletin pape
Visualization of Water Surface Wave by FFT
application/pdfIn this paper we present a visualization method of water surface wave by FFT(Fast Fourier Transform). Water surface wave is appeared in various scenes of computer games. In these usages, the shape of wave is necessary for human to acknowledge it real. The pictures are constructed by animation. Therefore the generation time of pictures is desirable to be short. For this purpose there are many cases in which the quasi・pictures are used. However it is better that the shape of wave in pictures approximates that of actual wave. In this paper for water in a rectangular parallelepiped, the analytical solution is constructed by Fourier series. This Fourier series is approximated by the DFT(Discrete Fourier Transform). In this paper the method of expression by DFT of the Fourier series is presented. In the case the point of DFT is selected as the power of 2, the FFT can be used to calculation. Several pictures of surface wave constructed by FFT are shown.departmental bulletin pape
Synthesis of hydroxyapatite doped with Ti -Research works accomplished by using Electron Microscope System: XX (1)-
application/pdfStarting with Ca(NO3)2, Ti(SO4)2, H3P04 and other chemicals, hydroxyapatite doped with Ti was synthesized. In this method, a procedure reported in the literature was partially used but was modified to avoid the formation of Ti02. The samples were characterized with EDX and X-RD. It was found that Ti was present in the solid sample. When the ratio, Xn = Ti/(Ca + Ti), was 0.0-0.2, a crystalline sample with hydroxyapatite structure was obtained. After aging process, crystallinity increased. At XTi = 0.5, amorphous phase was formed without the formation of Ti02. Ti atoms were believed to exist in the sample as crystalline or amorphous hydroxyapatite doped with Ti.departmental bulletin pape
Correction of the picture taken by a fish eye lens
application/pdfIn this paper we present a calibration method for the photo pictures taken by a 35mm single-lens reflex camera attaching a fisheye lens with focal distance 15mm.The proposed method is applicable to the four projection methods which are used to produce the fisheye lens in industries. Also it is able to use arbitrary 35mm camera with any size of CCD or COMS sensor. The procedure of the proposed methods does not contain any iteration process. Therefore the calibration image is produced uniquely and fast by only two parameters. In order to show the effect of the proposed method we compare the actual pictures taken by the 20mm focal distance lens for a reference and the calibration pictures generated by the four projections from a fisheye picture. Defining the criterion function which is obtained by the maximum value of the phase only correlation function between the calibrated picture and reference photo picture, we will show that the most preferable projection is the equidistance projection.departmental bulletin pape
Animal Names that Appear in British Folktales and Legends -IV
application/pdfThe purpose of this paper is to present a comprehensive list of animal names, along with their frequences, which appear in Part B, Volume II of A Dictionary of British Folktales in the English Language by Katherine M. Briggs. How these animals are dealt with in the folktales is also described.departmental bulletin pape
A numerical semigroup from which the semigroup gained by dividing by two is either N0 or a 2-semigroup or <3,4,5>
application/pdfLet H be a numerical semigroup. We consider the problem that whether H is the semigroup of a ramification point on a double covering of a cuve or not. We denote by d2(H) the semigroup generated by the elements h with 2h ∈ H. We solve the problem, when d2(H) is either N0 or a 2-semigroup. In the case d2(H) =〈3, 4, 5〉we give the answer to this problem for any H except three semigroups.departmental bulletin pape
