Development of bike-typed power generation system combined with information technology aimed at campus use
application/pdfThere are many pieces of equipment and devices that can be driven by relatively little electrical power such as a wireless microphones and laser pointers commonly used in a campus setting. There has been a growing awareness of the need to consider health, in particular, calorie consumption, in order to ensure physical wellbeing. Some people make it a rule to do physical exercise regularly. This exercise can be used to generate power and this power can be used on a campus. Such an endeavor is useful not only to promote health but also to help to protect the environment, create a sustainable society and generate power in areas affected by a disaster. The authors have designed and developed a bike-typed human power generation system, and begun to replace disposable batteries with rechargeable batteries. An important feature of the system is the ability to complete an energy cycle, that is, generation, storage and use of power. This paper describes the bike-typed generation power system, which includes a newly developed power-generating bike, charging control equipment and application software that is linked to information technology including the use of cloud services. The paper also reports on the results of tests designed to verify the performances and functions of the system, and the results of a questionnaire survey conducted to evaluate the system.departmental bulletin pape
Photocatalytic decomposition reaction of salicylic acid--Research works accomplished by using materials analysis facilities: XXVIII(2)--
application/pdfO-salicylic acid and m-salicylic acid were exposed to UV light with/without TiO2 and were studied by 1H-NMR and FT/IR. Although the results of FT/IR were not conclusive, the results of NMR revealed that some of hydrogen on benzene reacted more than other hydrogen on benzene. Most of these results could be explained in terms of electronic structure of salicylic acid, suggesting that salicylic acid was attacked by electrophilic reagent that was created by photocatalytic reaction of TiO2.departmental bulletin pape
Adsorption Behavior of Phosphoric Acid Using Poly(AAc-co-4-VP)--Research works accomplished by using materials analysis facilities: XXVIII(1)--
application/pdfIn order to prepare a material of high adsorption for phosphoric acid, acrylic acid (AAc) and 4-vinyl pyridine (4-VP) as monomers and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as a cross-linker were copolymerized by precipitation polymerization. According to observation by FE-SEM, the poly(acrylic acid-co-4-vinyl pyridine)(Poly(AAc-co-4-VP)) were polydispersed particles. The adsorption behavior of phosphoric acid for Poly(AAc-co-4-VP) was investigated from molybdenum blue methods. The amount of adsorption of phosphoric acid was constant without regard to the concentrations of phosphoric acid. It was found that the adsorption behavior of phosphoric acid for Poly(AAc-co-4-VP) depended on the amount of AAc and 4-VP on the particle surface.departmental bulletin pape
Preparation and Characterization of Poly (2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) Particles--Research works accomplished by using materials analysis facilities: XXVIII(3)--
application/pdfPrecipitation polymerization of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) with N, N'- methylenebisacrylamide (MBAAm) has been performed in acetone to produce monodispersed hydrogel particles. The effects of HEMA weight fraction in the monomer feed on the particle size and the polymerization rate were investigated. Polymerization rates decreased with an increase in the HEMA content in the range of 60 to 80 wt%. Analyses by transmission electron microscopy measurements showed that monodispersed particles were obtained independent of the HEMA contents, with the size range of 250 nm to 450 nm. These results indicate that poly (HEMA-co-MBAAm) hydrogel particles can be obtained by precipitation polymerization in acetone, followed by substituting the solvent with water.departmental bulletin pape

Hydrogen produces only water when it combusted which is attracted attention as a clean energy that is kind to the global environment. The soil is interesting for slight biodiversity in the earth, and it is considered that hydrogen producing organism exists in the soil. So, we have been searched the hydrogen producing organism in soil exudation water. 2 samples of soil exudation water in Kanagawa, 7 samples in Shizuoka and 1 sample in chiba were analyzed for hydrogen-producing bacteria. Photoluminescence and Photochromism in Ti-doped Na4Sn3O8--Research works accomplished by using materials analysis facilities: XXVIII(7)--
application/pdfMany researches for stannate phosphors have been reported in which Ti4+ ions are doped as fluorescent ions. In this study, we attempted to synthesize a new phosphor based on Na4Sn3O8, which was found recently, as a host crystal and Ti4+ ions as fluorescent ions. It was revealed that the host crystal Na4Sn3O8 itself, which does not contain Ti4+, exhibits fluorescence under irradiation with ultraviolet light, and that Ti4+-doped Na4Sn3O8 shows different fluorescence from the host crystal. A phenomenon in which the emission intensity declined after ultraviolet irradiation for a long period of time was observed in all the samples, and coloration of the sample was observed simultaneously. We propose the generation of optical absorption sites by ultraviolet irradiation as a mechanism for the decline of emission intensity and the coloration.departmental bulletin pape

application/pdfIt is known that Phellinus linteus of basidiomycetes have a high antitumor activity. However, it is not practical because it is reguired for a long time to form fruiting bodies. When the ginkgo biloba leaf extract was used as a growth promoter, which added into a culture medium under 0.005 vol% of concentration, the amount of mycelia produced increased about 4 times as compared with the one not added. It was found that ginkgo biloba extract is effective as a promoting factor on the growth of Phellinus linteus mycelium.departmental bulletin pape
The determination of the standard curve function for the protein quantity in SDS-PAGE
application/pdfBy the sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE), the molecular weight and quantity of protein are determined. After the electrophoresis, gel is stained by coomassie brilliant blue (CBB) or other chemicals. The quantity of protein is determined by densitometry. In the low quantity below a few hundred nano grams of protein, the signal intensity is proportional to the quantity. By the increment of the quantity, the signal increment is suppressed. A Study regarding the Effectiveness of Care Programmes for Helping Postpartum Women Relax
application/pdfPurpose : Postpartum women experience striking physical changes and are prone to mental and social stress. Fatigue accumulates from lack of sleep, and many women have difficulty relaxing during this period. Trying to relieve their physical condition, we introduced a proposed care programme and evaluated its effectiveness at relaxing these women, using autonomic nervous system activity and subjective indicators. Methods : Study Design: Uncontrolled intervention research. Subjects: Women undergoing regular postpartum process. Hypothesis 1 : HR, the indicator for parasympathetic nerve activity, decreases after introduction of the care programme, and HF (High-frequency), increases. Additionally, LF (Low-frequency) HF (High-frequency), the indicator for sympathetic nerve activity, decreases. Hypothesis 2 : Scores on the general emotional scale increases after introduction of the care programme. Analysis: The IBM SPSS statistics22 software was used for analysis. Results : Hypothesis 1 : In comparison to the values prior to the implementation of the care programme, HR, the parasympathetic nerve activity indicator, decreased, whilst HF increased. However, LF (Lowfrequency) / HF (High-frequency) , the sympathetic nerve activity indicator, did not decrease. Hypothesis 1 was partially verified, with the presence of parasympathetic nerve activity stimulation. Hypothesis 2 : In comparison to the values prior to the implementation of the care programme, standard emotion scores increased, confirming the expectations of Hypothesis 2. Conclusion and Consideration : The introduction of the care programme for postpartum women in this study did have a significant effect on the parasympathetic nervous system. However, no decrease in sympathetic nerve activity was observed. The significant increase in standard emotion scores from before to after the programme showed that, subjectively, the care programme helped the subjects relax. Implementation of this care programme for postpartum women stimulated their Parasympathetic nervous system and enabled subjective relaxation.departmental bulletin pape
