A Usefulness of Mimicry During Emotion Recognition in Patients with Schizophrenia
application/pdfThe purpose of this study was to identify the feature of the emotion recognition of the patients with schizophrenia under hospitalization, and to examine the usefulness of the experience learning by mimicry. The experience learning by mimicry observed the expression illustration which has seven kinds of emotion, copied emotion, and repeated experience which occurs emotion. I investigated for 35 subjects with schizophrenia under hospitalization, and made into the analysis candidate 29 subjects with schizophrenia by whom the useful result was obtained. The results clearly showed a significantly improvement in the emotion recognition according to the experience learning by mimicry. Moreover, significantly improvement clearly showed also in the emotion recognition to the expression of "sadness", "anger", and "dislike" which are negative emotion. As for the improvement in the emotion recognition, age of the subjects, duration of hospitalization, and psychiatric symptoms were related. A possibility that experience learning of the emotion recognition by mimicry would act on the patients with schizophrenia in the emotion recognition useful was suggested.departmental bulletin pape
Development and assessment of health-building program with perspective of spirituality for local elderly in community
application/pdf〔Purpose〕This study has aimed to develop a health-building program for local elderly with a focus on spirituality, and to assess the results thereof. 〔Method〕The subjects were 24 elderly residents of District O in A City who agreed to participate in the program. Health-building classes, consisting of laughter yoga and discussion groups (reflection-based), were held six times as the program contents. The assessment method was based on self-written questionnaire survey papers completed before and after the program. The items covered were “local elderly ' spirituality rating scale", “self-assessment of health", “mental health (GDS15)", and “life satisfaction scale K". Blood pressure and salivary amylase were also measured before and after on each occasion. 〔Results〕There were 24 subjects of analysis whose mean age was 74.8 years (SD5.3). In a comparison of before and after intervention, the items of spirituality rating scale, self-assessment of health, mental health (GDS15) were highly significant. The salivary amylase value was significantly lower, indicating stress reduction. 〔Conclusion〕This program presents the results of evaluating changes only in the program participants, and there are limits to the interpretation of results, but it was suggested as possibly being effective as a means of health-building with a perspective of spirituality.departmental bulletin pape
Rating problem-solving ability of Japanese families with children developmental disorders : scale development and application.
application/pdfAim: This study aimed to develop a scale for rating the problem-solving ability of families with young children with developmental disorders, based on the family systems theory, as well as to test the reliability and validity of this scale. Methods: A total of 270 families were recruited from the Association of Families with Children with a Developmental Disorder in the Kinki region of Japan and were administered a scale for rating the problemsolving ability of families with young children with developmental disorders. Item design, item refinement, and reliability and validity testing were used in scale development. Results: Responses were obtained from 128 families. Of these, 114 were valid responses (response rate, 42.2%). The final scale consists of 26 items in four subscales (cooperative relationship between spouses, sense of self-control regarding parenting, ability to use social resources, and belief regarding the roles of spouses). Cronbach's alpha was adequate for each sub-scale (α = 0.84-0.71). Examination of the construct validity and stability suggests that the scale has good reliability and promising validity. Conclusions: The reliability and validity of this new scale were for the most part confirmed. This new scale is a useful tool for measuring the problem-solving ability of families with young children with developmental disorders and has practical implications for nursing practice.departmental bulletin pape

Characterization of Syndiotactic Polystyrene Gel in the Mixed Solvent--Research works accomplished by using materials analysis facilities : XXIX(1)--
application/pdfA syndiotactic-rich polystyrene (sPS) in the mixed solvent of toluene and chloroform convert to thermoreversible gel near room temperature. In order to characterize the sPS physical gel formed in a mixed solvent of toluene and chloroform, the junction length ζ in number of styrene units were estimated as a function of the volume fraction Xchloro using the Tanaka-Stockmayer theory (TS theory). Gel-melting temperature (Tm g) of sPS gels decreased with increasing Xchloro. It was found from Tm g that chloroform behaved as a relatively good solvent for sPS, while toluene was a relatively poor solvent. The TS theory suggested that junction length ζ became larger when a gel was formed in poor solvent. It was suggested from FT-IR spectra that sPS chains were formed T2G2 conformation in all Xchloro. In the SEM observation, morphologies of sPS gel formed from in the mixed solvent were exhibited fibrillary-like structure.departmental bulletin pape
