Experimental Evaluation of Open-Source-based VoNR and OTT Voice Services in 5G SA Network Deployments

    No full text
The Fifth Generation (5G) mobile network was developed to provide greater capacity, lower latency, and higher throughput, thereby enhancing multimedia service delivery. In the context of private 5G networks, open-source software is a key enabler of innovation and widespread adoption. This study introduces the first open-source prototype implementation of Voice over New Radio (VoNR) and evaluates its performance in two 5G Standalone (SA) private network deployment models: distributed and all-in-one (”in-a-box”). Leveraging an experimental setup composed entirely of open-source tools, the paper offers a comparative analysis of VoNR and Over-the-Top (OTT) voice services, examining their respective advantages and limitations. The findings contribute to the optimization of voice and multimedia services in next-generation (6G) networks and underscore the role of open-source platforms in achieving scalable, high-quality voice integration

Odnos između kognitivne regulacije emocija i depresije, anksioznosti i stresa kod medicinskih sestara

Introduction. Numerous studies have shown that there is significant relationship between nurses’ emotional states and their work performance. This relationship is particularly significant when symptoms of distress (depression, anxiety, and stress) are elevated. Cognitive emotion regulation strategies that support effective responses to environmental challenges are termed adaptive, while those that impede functioning are known as maladaptive. Aim. To examine mental health of nurses, as measured by depression, anxiety and stress and to investigate the contribution of cognitive emotion regulation strategies to the prediction of depression, anxiety and stress. Methods. Data were collected in February 2023 at Osijek University Hospital. A total of 82 nurses participated in the study. Data were collected using sociodemographic questions, the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale (Lovibond & Lovibond, 1995), and the Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (Garnefski & Kraaij, 2006). Results. Although most nurses do not experience depression, anxiety, and stress beyond the normal level, there is a non-negligible proportion who exhibit symptoms ranging from mild to extremely severe levels of these negative emotional states. The largest proportion of severe and extremely severe results, that might be of clinical significance, was observed for anxiety (18.53%). The maladaptive strategy of blaming others was found to be a significant predictor of depression, anxiety, stress and positive refocusing was significant predictor of stress. Conclusion. The results suggest that the use of specific cognitive emotion regulation strategies plays an important role in nurses’ mental health, measured as rates of depression, anxiety and stress. This underscores the need for and importance of implementing education and training programmes on cognitive emotion regulation strategies in the professional education of nurses

Zagreb i poplave: 60. obljetnica velike poplave

Manipulation and Goal Setting Motivation: An Unexamined Ethical Relationship

    Get PDF
Manipulation is well–studied in psychology and philosophy, and there is substantial literature on organizational motivational theories. Yet, a thorough examination of whether organizational motivational practices are manipulative is lacking. This paper defines manipulation and applies the definition to Goal Setting Theory. It addresses two questions: is Goal Setting Motivation manipulation and is it wrong? We also explore how non–manipulative ideal motivational practices could be altered to become manipulative

Optimization of the Transmission Tube of a Ball Mill Based on the EDEM-Workbench Method

    Get PDF
The structural design of the transmission tube significantly influences its mechanical behaviour under operating conditions, making structural optimization crucial for improving the performance and reliability of a ball mill. In this paper, the response surface method and multi-objective genetic algorithm are used to carry out optimization research on the existing BM4213 ball mill transmission tube structure to address the problem of its large size and size-related material costs. Firstly, the discrete element simulation of a transmission tube based on the Altair EDEM software is carried out to analyse the movement of the material in the transmission tube and determine the load acting on it. Thereafter, the load exerted on the transmission tube by the material is imported into the static analysis module in Workbench to obtain the stress and deformation of the transmission tube at full load start-up using the coupled EDEM-Workbench method. Subsequently, the part of the design to be optimized is determined based on the results of the static analysis. Finally, a mathematical model of the transmission tube optimization design is constructed; using the response surface optimization module in Workbench and a multi-objective genetic algorithm, a comprehensive optimization design of the transmission tube is carried out. The structural dimensions in the mathematical model of the transmission tube are adjusted to effectively reduce its stress and mass. The optimized transmission tube exhibited reductions of 6.735% in mass, 9.188% in maximum stress, and 16.721% in maximum deformation. This research provides an essential reference for the optimized design of the BM4213 ball mill transmission tube

Purpose – The purpose of this study is to examine the status of scientific research on “revisit intention” in the Scopus database through a systematic literature review using key indicators. Methodology/Design/Approach – In this study, studies on revisit intention between 2007 and 2022 were analysed using bibliometric methods with the help of Rstudio.cloud software. In this research, general information about the publications, citation analysis, trend topic analysis, cross-country cooperation analysis, thematic analysis, and multiple correspondence analysis were conducted. Findings – Results – The sample of the study consists of 280 studies from 149 sources that include “revisit intention” in the title, abstract and keywords of articles in journals scanned in the Scopus database. It has been determined that there has been an increase in research on the research topic in recent years, and the highest scientific production was published in 2022 with 76 research. The highest number of research on revisit intention was published in the Sustainability journal (41 research), and China is the country with the most scientific publications. The most productive author with 6 research on the research topic is Ramayah Thurasamy. The strongest collaboration lines are those between China, Australia, Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States. The topics that researchers mostly address regarding revisit intention are destination image, service quality, perceived value, customer satisfaction, and the effects of COVID-19. Originality of the research – The study employs advanced bibliometric tools to systematically map the field’s evolution and identifying emerging post-pandemic trends. By integrating these findings, it offers actionable frameworks for tourism strategy design and prioritizes understudied areas such as memorable experiences and sustainability-driven loyalty models to guide future research agendas

Machiavelli’s New Prince Caught in Drag

    No full text
This article offers a critical reconsideration of the gendered relation between virtù and fortune in Machiavelli’s principal political texts. In the current feminist studies on Machiavelli, this relation is perceived in either antagonistic or mimetic terms. In dialogue with both strands of feminist readings and with special attention to Pitkin’s interpretation of Machiavelli, this paper seeks to bridge the democratic and feminist face(s) of Machiavelli. From a feminist and gender-dissidence perspective, it then provides an alternative view of the new prince as a man in drag and examines his role in the regulation of social conflict
