Two-Echelon Location-Routing Problem with Fuzzy Demand of Rural E-Commerce Logistics

    No full text
To promote the green and high-quality development of rural e-commerce logistics, we propose the Two-Echelon Location-Routing Problem with Fuzzy Demand (2E-LRP-FD) of the rural e-commerce logistics network. Considering fuzzy demand, government subsidies and simultaneous delivery, the objective function aims to maximise the profit of enterprises considering government subsidies. The fuzzy chance-constrained programming method is used to deal with the triangular fuzzy variables of pickup demands. Additionally, we present a two-stage Improved Non-Dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm II (INSGA-II) that integrates stochastic simulation and a K-means clustering algorithm to effectively solve the problem. In the end, the numerical experiments of algorithm and model design are verified. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed INSGA-II is significantly efficient and effective. Furthermore, we discuss the relationship between subsidy strategies and logistics enterprise profits. This research contributes valuable insights for the establishment of rural e-commerce logistics systems

Post-Processing Techniques of Additively Manufactured Parts: A Review

    Get PDF
Additive manufacturing (AM) refers to a variety of technologies that produce products layer by layer based on 3D digital models. The introduction of advanced capabilities has facilitated the utilisation of AM technology in high-performance sectors, including medical, aerospace, automotive, and other fields. However, the technology encounters several obstacles, such as poor surface quality, limited dimensional and geometrical accuracy, inadequate mechanical characteristics, internal porosity, and unnecessary phases. Various post-processing techniques are employed to address these issues and difficulties. This study provides a comprehensive review of existing post-processing approaches in AM, encompassing surface finish, removal of material support, thermal treatment, non-thermal treatment, and aesthetic enhancement. Furthermore, it provides several significant contributions. Firstly, it proposes guidelines for the selection method used in post-processing, as well as the technique that should be implemented to enhance surface quality and accuracy and eliminate support structures from the manufactured products. Additionally, it outlines the research gaps and unresolved problems that need to be addressed in future work

Primjenom modela linearnog trenda i trend-polinoma drugog stupnja, istraživanje kvantificira tendenciju smanjenja broja nezaposlenih, istovremeno identificirajući oscilatorna kretanja unutar promatranog razdoblja. This paper investigates the trend of unemployment in the Republic of Croatia during the period from 2010 to 2024, using econometric methods of time series analysis. By applying linear trend models and second-degree trend-polynomials, the research quantifies the tendency of decreasing the number of unemployed, while simultaneously identifying oscillatory movements within the observed period. Data analysis shows that the peak of unemployment was recorded in 2013, followed by a significant decline, which is reflected both in absolute values and in structural changes in the shares of unemployed by gender and age. In addition to quantitative analysis, the paper looks at the challenges of the digital era and the transition to Industry 5.0, emphasizing the need for managing organizational changes and adapting the education system. This transformation places new demands on the workforce, which is reflected in the need for lifelong learning, retraining and the development of digital competencies, especially in the context of the application of artificial intelligence. This indicates a two-way impact - on the one hand, technological progress can result in the loss of traditional jobs, while on the other hand, it opens up opportunities for the creation of new, better jobs

    No full text
Natural history materials were collected almost from the very foundation of the Museum of Slavonia in 1877, and the first large collection of sea snails and shells was donated in 1898 by Emerich Hild, a military officer from Zadar. Natural history materials were kept in different museum departments until 1994, when the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia established the Natural History Department, when the organized and systematic collection of materials and their professional and scientific processing began. Today, this Department of the Museum houses priceless collections that are important primary sources from which we can explore the history of the development of collecting and natural history in the area of Slavonia and Croatia, the story of taxonomic science and the inexhaustible human desire to understand life on Earth, the greatest scientific challenge of our time. Natural history collections are a critical infrastructure for educational and scientific innovation and interdisciplinary research in predicting the Earth’s uncertain future

Acute toxicity and hepatoprotective effect of Arum maculatum on rat liver cirrhosis induced with thioacetamide

    No full text
Arum maculatum is a medicinal plant that has been employed in traditional medicine for treating liver diseases. The objective of the current study was to evaluate the hepatoprotective impacts of ethanolic extract of the A. maculatum leaves on cirrhosis induced by thioacetamide (TAA) in Sprague-Dawley rats. The rats were treated for two months with thioacetamide (TAA) administered intraperitoneally thrice weekly. Histopathological examination revealed severe liver damage in the thioacetamide control group, while the groups treated with A. maculatum showed reduced necrosis and fibrous tissue proliferation. Additionally, activities of antioxidant enzymes (SOD and CAT which were significantly reduced after TAA treatment), and the content of MDA (which was significantly higher in thioacetamide controls), were significantly improved after A. maculatum and silymarin treatments (p < 0.05). Furthermore, A. maculatum treatment led to the normalization of pro-inflammatory cytokines TNF-α and IL-6, and increased expression of the anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10 (p < 0.05). Thus, A. maculatum leaves might have a hepatoprotective role in rat liver cirrhosis induced by TAA, along with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects

This paper presents a study done on the ways how death has been depicted in Croatian and international authors’ picture books. The first part deals with the representation of death in Christianity with a special assessment of the basic Christian truths, faith in resurrection, Heaven and eternal life, followed by the explanation of an iconographic representation of death and the link between literature and the philosophical theories by Socrates, Hegel and Heidegger regarding the representation of death. The central part of the paper analyses picture books in relation to their themes, motifs, art techniques, narration procedures, their message, and the view, which may be Christian, secular, or a New Age paradigm. In applying the Christian and secular points of view and the messages to literary works, the paper relies, methodologically, to solutions proposed by Nikčević. The analysis of the picture books highlights the criteria of the dual purpose of children’s literature, and the fact that picture books are, primarily, a product whose purpose is market profit. Works by Zalar, Javor, Narančić, Kovač, Bader, Crnković, and Hlevnjak are methodological starting points here. The analysis of various authors’ picture books shows that the approach to death is becoming more liberal; some authors start with the representation of death from oral literature, and some link it to the growing-up process, illness, the transitory nature of life, even to euthanasia. The conclusion is that there are few authors whose picture books have a Christian point of view which, considering Christ’s sacrifice and resurrection, may provide a meaningful comfort to children and adults

Christian Themes in Contemporary Croatian Readers in Elementary School

    No full text
The paper analyses the representation of Christian themes and the approach to their interpretation in Croatian readers in elementary school published by four Croatian publishing houses. As Christian identity is a formative segment of Croatian literature and culture, it should be permanently recognized and nurtured not exclusively as a religious, but also as a cultural phenomenon. The theoretical approach is based on contemporary theories about cultural identity and its significance, its formation in the space of political power, which also includes the educational system. The analysis shows that the Christian identity in Croatian readers for all eight classes of elementary school is mostly reflected in the texts related to the two most important Christian holidays, Christmas and Easter, although some readers do not even mention them. Those that do, either emphasize the Christian character or reflect a secularist approach that puts Christian characteristics in the background, thus highlighting the universal human values of Christian holidays. Such an approach points to unclearly defined determinants of the Croatian cultural and literary identity and at the same time indicates neglect and indifference towards its Christian component

Analysis of the Effect of Tunnel Safety Measures on Vehicle Speed Based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process

    No full text
The highway tunnel plays a critical role in highway traffic flow, yet its sections are particularly susceptible to traffic accidents. The research shows that the safety measures in the tunnel have a certain effect on improving the safety in the tunnel, but there is a lack of evaluation methods for the use effect of safety measures in the tunnel. To study the application effect of safety measures in tunnels (mainly strobe lights and information boards), this paper takes the driver’s subjective feelings and vehicle speed changes as indicators to evaluate the application effect of safety facilities. The Xingshuliang Tunnel in Shaanxi Province, which has been operated and meets the test standards, is used as the test site, and the driver between the Yaozhou and Huangling sections is randomly selected as the test object for data collection. Subjective feelings are mainly obtained by social survey methods to obtain data samples, and the driving speed is collected by NC2000, non-contact five-wheel instrument, video recorder and other equipment. The statistical analysis method is used to study the driving speed of each section inside and outside the tunnel and the driver’s response. According to the changing trend of speed, the weight of each test section is calculated by the combination of analytic hierarchy process and quantitative statistical method, and the comprehensive influence degree of safety measures is evaluated. The results show that both the strobe light and the information board induce the driver to reduce the driving speed by 3.1%, which can effectively reduce the driving speed. The strobe light mainly acts on the tunnel entrance and the inside of the tunnel, with a maximum influence range of 205 m. The information board has the greatest effect at the tunnel entrance, with a maximum influence range of 200 m. The above results provide a useful reference for the arrangement of safety measures and put forward the arrangement method of tunnel safety measures in combination with the conclusion, to help improve the safety of the driving environment in the tunnel
