Putu polistirola izstrādājumu ražošanas procesa pētījumi
No full textPromocijas darbā pirmo reizi sistemātiski pētītas putu polistirola bloku ražošanas tehnoloģisko parametru likumsakarības un bloku kvalitāti nodrošinošo faktoru kopums. Pētītas izstrādājumu īpašības blokos, atsaucoties uz EN norādītajām normām un analīžu metodēm, kā arī izmantojot gaismas mikroskopijas un granulometrijas metodes. Darba gaitā izvērtēta izejvielu granulometriskā sastāva ietekme un bloku ražošanas procesa tehnoloģisko parametru ietekme uz izstrādājumu īpašībām EPS bloku tilpumā (spiedes pretestību, stiepes stiprību, tilpummasu, siltumvadāmību, ūdens absorbciju).
Literatūras apskatā apkopota un izvērtēta informācija par putu polistirola izstrādājumu īpašībām, struktūru un sagatavošanas parametru ietekmējošiem lielumiem laika periodā no 1981. līdz 2010. gadam.
Promocijas darbs uzrakstīts latviešu valodā, tā apjoms 127 lpp. Darbs satur 99 attēlus, 15 tabulas un tajā izmantoti 86 literatūras avoti
Generating of Multi-Criteria Alternatives for Decision-Making in Electric Light Rail Control
No full textThe purpose is to research and evaluate genetic algorithms and scheduling theory methods for control of public electric transport. Methods of scheduling theory define criteria for time constraints for target functions of the optimal electric transport control task and for electrical process diagnostics task.
Mathematical models and procedures are developed for control of electrical processes using scheduling theory and multi-criteria decision making and optimization of railway traffic control. Functional dependencies between electrical processes and dynamics of electric transport flow states are investigated in the research.
Genetic algorithms are investigated for dynamic multi-criteria optimization of processes in real time mode. Efficiency of proposed methods is analyzed and procedures for optimal electric transport flow control

The Model of Sustainable Performance of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise
No full textPreviously conducted research works in the field of performance evaluation of SMEs have not solved all the arising problems due to the specific industry issues. Besides, several disputable questions exist, for instance, whether large companies’ performance measurement models can be applied for the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises. It indicates the necessity for continuation of studying the above-mentioned issues in order to find practical solutions.
The goal of the research is, studying the performance of SMEs and the factors affecting performance achieving, to propose performance measurement concept encouraging the sustainable development of SMEs and to suggest performance evaluation approach.
The object of the study is SMEs from the sub-sector of manufacturing industry in Latvia. To achieve the goal the following research methods were used: quantitative and qualitative methods, including monographic or descriptive method, analysis, synthesis method, and method of sociologic research – survey; statistical research methods, including grouping, comparison, analysis of relative and average indices, correlation analysis. Calculations and data processing were carried out using Microsoft Excel and Eview software.
The authors create a model of sustainable performing of SMEs, using results of the empiric research, where external and internal business environment factors influencing effective performance of the enterprise and performance indicators that are to be supervised principally, according to the enterprise life cycle phases, are included. The developed model of enterprise sustainable performing has been tested in the sector of printing in manufacturing industry

Higher education funding is influenced by several factors. Due the impact of globalization these factors have similar trends around the world, but each country tends to have its own characteristics. Authors have found out the characteristics of higher education impact factors in Latvia in this research. In this research used methods can be used for other national higher education funding impact factors. The authors offer higher education funding impact factors and estimate the characteristics of these factors in Latvia because in Latvia practically was not made such researches

The effect of small additions of a liquid-crystalline polymer on the mechanical properties of polyethylene
No full textResults of an investigation into the mechanical properties of polyethylene with small, no more than 3 wt.%, additions of a thermotropic lioquid-crystalline polymer (LCP) are reported. Experimantal data on the influence of LCP additions on the tensile stress-strain diagram, elastic modulus, long-term (up to a 1000-h) creep, and creeep recovery after unloading of the specimens are obtained. The elastic properties of the materials are analyzed taking into account the effect of self-reinforcement owing to the formation of extended LCP inclusions. The results obtained are compared with experimental data. Analytical descriptions of the creep and creep recovery of the materials investigated are also presented
