Ieskats latviešu hernhūtiešu mistikas tradīcijā
Brāļu draudzes jeb hernhūtiešu darbība Latvijā saistās galvenokārt ar Vidzemi, taču, būdama faktiski pirmā latviešu nacionāla atmoda 18.gadsimtā, tā ir svarīga visas Latvijas kontekstā
The Macroregion Approach and Territorial Cohesion of the Baltic Region
The Baltic Sea Region as macroregion moves towards the regional economic approach...multidimensional models on the spatial planning systems are observed..
Spatial Planning Documents that Foster Conservation of Cultural Heritage. Example of Kuldiga
Urban construction is a continuous process. Plans and concepts get changed, but the idea of homogeneous development is crucial, it should go together with the surrounding processes. The Development Strategy of Kuldiga is: “… to conserve its unique cultural heritage – the complex of old town and nature...”, as it is put in the Development Programme of Kuldiga [1]. The task of the development planning is to create a homogeneous environment in the old town of Kuldiga by providing economical use of resources, respect for local traditions and good use of land
The Theoretical and Practical Application of Regional Policy in the Regions of Latvia
The role of the region has changed historically - from a geographical territory to a planning region, the competence of which is to enhance the development of the region for achieving the average EU development indicators in the gross domestic product (GDP), the unemployment level and other indicators affecting welfare nowadays.
The research clarifies theoretical aspects of the regional policy, summarises the outcomes of the regional policy implementation in the regions of Latvia. Macroeconomic indicators of the regions of Latvia, such as changes in the population amount, the gross domestic product (GDP) produced in the regions, are analysed
Eiropas Savienības līdzfinansēšanas iespējas, problēmas un risinājumi mājokļu renovēšanai Latvijā
Latvija kā Eiropas Savienības dalībvalsts, īstenojot ES reģionālo politiku, izmanto ES sniegto finanšu palīdzību ekonomiskajai un sociālajai attīstībai. Lielākie finanšu instrumenti (vadību nodrošina Finanšu ministrija), kuru ietvaros Latvija saņem finanšu palīdzību, ir Eiropas Reģionālās attīstības fonds (ERAF); Eiropas Sociālais fonds (ESF); Kohēzijas fonds (KF)
Diacetone-D-Glucose-Derived Spirocyclic Lactones in Stereoselective Synthesis
The research is focused on spirocyclic α,β-unsaturated lactone obtained by modification of C(3) atom of diacetone-α-D-glucose framework. Diastereselectivity of Michael addition reactions on the lactone is discussed
Inverse Technique for the Viscoelastic Material Properties Characterisation
New non-destructive technique, namely an inverse technique based on vibration tests, to characterize nonlinear mechanical properties of adhesive layers in sandwich composites has been developed. An adhesive layer is described as a viscoelastic isotropic material with storage and loss moduli which are both frequency dependent values in a wide frequency range. An optimization based on the planning of experiments and response surface technique to minimize the error functional is applied to decrease considerably the computational expenses. The developed identification technique has been successfully applied to characterize viscoelastic material properties of 3M damping polymer ISD-112 used as a core material in sandwich panel
Sustainable Building in Latvia: Development and Future Challenges
Sustainable building has become very popular throughout the world. Sustainable building is the application of sustainable development in the construction industry. Construction projects and activities are, in general, associated with a wide range of
environmental impacts. Targets of sustainable buildings promotion are protecting the environment, using less energy through natural
ventilation provisions and daylight utilization, developing better waste management and taking water conservation into account.
Architectural and building design, electrical and mechanical systems, and building management have to be upgraded. Therefore the
principles of sustainable development should be adopted during construction just like in any other industrial sector. To realize
sustainable development in the construction industry, green building assessment system, which is designed to promote environmental
awareness amongst built environment professionals, have been perceived as effective tools. However, when choosing green building
assessment tool, we are usually puzzled either to use an international assessment tool or make a totally new tool. A good assessment
tool should be judged according to its potential application. The application of green building assessment tools have been widely
accepted as useful way to promote sustainable building. The purpose of this study is to explore and analyze present status of
sustainable building and green building assessment in Latvia and to indicate the strategies of its development. Further research needs
to be conducted based on this initial journey to promote green building in Latvia. From the authors' point of view, the most effective
way is to choose an international tool as a basis and then make a customer-tailored tool according to the situation in the market of
Latvia. The analysis shows that the process of sustainable building in Latvia is in a progressive stage of introduction
