    Industrialization Level and Export Performance

    No full text
This paper researches of newest tendencies of innovation and business climate in Latvia and Baltic states. The main goal of this paper is to evaluate innovation startegies for export in order to identify successful innovation behaviour. . In Latvian industrial low value added branches are dominated. Various studies show that the economy is changing stereotypes, when the driver for growth becomes the most significant creative ideas, knowledge and ability to reinvent. Basis for further successful economic development lies in the innovative development model and behaviour, which is an important competitive factor in the crisis. Comparing different literature, analyzing innovation strategies, we seek for the most cruical properties that have been the most successful in innovation behaviour. It is important to consider the situation in Latvia in respect of creativity and innovation, i.e. the industries with intensive human resource and their ability for sustainable development. We analyze innovative behaviour as an aspect that influence the export activit

Developed flexible pathways are proved for exploitation and durability, making some tests, for example - durability of attrition and durability of washing. Reaction of flexible circuits on isolation with different materials is studied as well. Results of the research will be analyzed and compared, evaluating preferable solutions what is possible to use in construction of smart garment system

Stratēģiskās vadības procesi Latvijas mazajos uzņēmumos

    No full text

Environmental Question Impact for Lenders and the Risk Management Process

Environmental risks and their impact on financial and non-financial indicators of the bank are analyzed in the article as well as what kind of mechanisms may be used in order to perform assessment and monitoring of environmental risks. On the basis of the existing lending assessment system in the commercial banks, a new lending assessment structure was created, where factors related to environmental risks as well as mechanism of their assessment were included. The lending assessment mechanism developed by the authors will take an important role in further lending decision making process in each of the commercial banks, performing the assessment of environmental risks. The research data were obtained from commercial banks to the public available information, as well as the banks`s internal work out documentation and procedures that were collected, and based on the information and other European banks good practices and experience was created by environmental factors affecting risk assessment process mechanism and its monitoring

Cotton Fabric Surface Modification by Sol-Gel Deposition of ZnO Thin Films

    No full text
Zinc oxide show high absorption in the ultraviolet (UV) region of the light spectrum, while absorption of visible light is quite low. In comparison with organic absorbers conventionally used in the textile industry, inorganic materials show no significant degradation and are therefore extremely stable and the oxides are classified as non-toxic materials. Sols were prepared using sol-gel technology. Ethanol, tetraetoxysilane, distilled water and hydrochloric acid was stirred for 30 minutes, after stirring was added Zn acetate and for second variant ZnSO4. The fabric samples were immersed in the prepared sols, after samples was dried at 50ºC and cured in an oven at 120ºC. Experiment results show that a moderate thermal treatment at 120°C after the sol is applied to the cotton textile is appropriate. In this work comparison of coatings of samples prepared using Zn acetate or ZnSO4 was made

Sol-Gel Method for Protective Textiles Processing

Zinc oxide show high absorption in the ultraviolet (UV) region of the light spectrum, while absorption of visible light is quite low. In comparison with organic absorbers conventionally used in the textile industry, inorganic materials show no significant degradation, are therefore extremely stable and the oxides are classified as non-toxic materials. In this research natural textiles were modified by the nanosol to impart UV radiation and antimicrobial protection property to the fabric surface. Nanosols were prepared by using the sol-gel method. The sol-gel method for nanosol preparation used in this research to implement ZnO coating on the fabric surface is a simple process that can be easily transferred to the textile industry, nanosol can be also applied by conventional coatings techniques used in the textile industry – the application can be implemented by simple dipping or spraying process. Scanning electron microscopy was used to examine the nature of the surface modification with ZnO coating by nanosol as also after exploitation of samples; energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy was used for the analysis of elemental composition of coated fabric samples

Natural Textile Surface Modification Using Sol-Gel Technique

    No full text
In this research natural fibre and textile have been modified by the sol-gel process to impart ultraviolet radiation (UVR) protection property to the fabric surface. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) has been used to examine the nature of the surface modification after application of coating by sol-gel technique and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy for the analysis of chemical composition of treated yarns and textile. Nanosol application can be carried out by simple dipping, and dipping time of 10 min is sufficient to get ZnO coating on a textile surface

Biological Interpretation of Metabolic Syndrome Data Missing Value Imputation and Classification

    No full text
The article studies the application of seven different methods of bioinformatics data replacement, whose working principles differ from each other, in real bioinformatics data classification. The practical experiments used three real bioinformatics data sets – Metabolic syndrome (Mets) patients – healthy obese subjects; Gastric cancer – healthy donors and Gastric intestinal disease – healthy donors. The missing data replacement was carried out using all studied methods and the classification data were compared. The paper also holds conclusions about the most efficient methods and the necessity to use such methods from the biologists’ point of view taking into account the real characteristics of data. The most important practical gain of the study is the biological analysis of If-Then rules produced by the applied classification algorithm FURIA, where the important conclusion is the ability of plasma leptin concentration to predict the risk of developing the Mets in a sample from an adult male population
