Metamodeling in optimization of composite stiffened panels
Among the modern structural materials, the history of fibre-reinforced composites is only a few decades old. However, in this short period of time, there has been a tremendous advancement in the science and technology of this new class of materials. The low density, high strength, high stiffness-to-weight ratio, excellent durability, and design extendibility of fibre-reinforced polymers are the primary reasons for their use in many structural components in the aircraft, automotive, marine, building, and other industries. Currently safe design practice in structural engineering is based on the application of numerical methods in strength and stability analyses which by any means is time consuming process. In a design process using response surface methodology for any type of system, the selected combinations of input variables are implemented into analyses and approximated their behaviour and effect on the response of a system by developing reliable metamodels. It has been shown that these metamodels can further be effectively implemented in the derivation of the optimal design guideless for thin-walled stiffened structures
LIDOJUMU DROŠĪBAS STĀVOKĻA MONITORINGA MODELIS UZ RISKA LĪMEŅA NOVĒRTĒJUMA PAMATA
Promocijas darbu „LIDOJUMU DROŠĪBAS STĀVOKĻA MONITORINGA MODELIS UZ RISKA LĪMEŅA NOVĒRTĒJUMA PAMATA” izstrādājis Igors Petuhovs inženierzinātņu doktora zinātniska grāda iegūšanai. Darba zinātniskais vadītājs Dr.habil.sc.ing., profesors V. Šestakovs. Darbs sastāv no 121 lapām, 14 tabulām, 34 attēliem, 90 izmantotās literatūras un citiem informācijas avotiem.

Promocijas darbā izvēlētā tēma paredz risinājumu vienai no aktuālākajām civilās aviācijas gaisakuģu (GK) lidojuma drošības (LD) līmeņa monitoringa problēmām.
Promocijas darba mērķis bija izstrādāt jaunas pieejas teorētiskos un metodoloģiskos noteikumus lidojuma drošības nodrošinājuma jautājumos, kuri bāzēti uz risku pārvaldības, kas rodas no nelabvēlīgo faktoru ietekmes lidojuma laikā un risku skaitliskās vērtēšanas metodes.
Pētījuma objekts ir LD monitoringa process pamatojoties uz riska līmeņa noteikšanas no nelabvēlīgo faktoru rašanas lidojuma laikā un to iedarbības iespējamām sekām. Izpētes tēma ir riska rāšanās no nelabvēlīgiem faktoriem, ieskaitot pilotēšanas kļūdas, monitorings, un tā vispusīgas uzskaites, analīzes un skaitliska vērtējuma jautājumi.
Darba metodiskā bāze ir riska līmeņa vērtējums, ekspertu vērtēšanas teorija, datu bāzes izveidošanas algoritmi, sistēmpieeja sarežģīto sistēmu pētīšanai.
Darbā izstrādāti teorētiskie un metodoloģiskie jaunas pieejas noteikumi LD nodrošināšanai aviokompānijā, kas bāzējās uz nelabvēlīgo faktoru ietekmes risku pārvaldības lidojumu laikā. Ir izstrādāti risku skaitliskās novērtēšanas metodes, tajā skaitā, lai iegūtu to integrētos novērtējumus, LD vadības mērķiem
Synchronizing Enterprise Resource Planning Systems and Business Processes: A Case of a New ERP Development Approach
A major question in organizations is how to synchronize business processes with ICT in order to get the support they need from the adopted technology. Adoption of standardized software packages such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems aims at being the solution, demanding that either the system is adjusted to existing business processes or that the business processes are adjusted to the system’s inherited processes. However, this is problematic, since organization’s business processes as well as the technology used are continuously evolving, demanding synchronization. The question is then how synchronization could be achieved and if a development method building on a role based/persona approach could result in an ERP that supports synchronization. The paper presents an investigation and analysis of such approach from the enterprise architecture (EA) perspective. The main conclusion is that the role based approach definitely could be a way of developing ERPs that support synchronization between ERP systems and business processes, but also that EA could add some new thoughts to the ERP development approach
A Method for Documenting Modifications in ERP Systems
Modern Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems are highly complex. This complexity is further increased by introducing modifications into the standard functionality. Maintenance and evolution of ERP systems becomes unmanageable if modifications are not properly documented. This paper elaborates a method for documenting and analyzing modifications made in ERP systems. These modifications are classified according to their impact on the standard functionality and a set of parameters for defining each modification is established. A template for describing modifications is also developed. The modifications are stored in the register of modifications and spreadsheet tools are used for analyzing these modifications. The analysis example is provided. It demonstrates identification of relationships between modifications and impact of modifications on elements of the standard syste
