Synthesis and Characterization of Sb-Substituted (K0.5Na0.5)NbO3 Piezoelectric Ceramics

    No full text

Processing of Polyisoprene-Nanostructured Carbon Black Composite Cells for Pressure Sensors

    No full text
Natural rubber latex is used as a matrix material. Nanostructured carbon black (mean particle diameter - 30 nm, dibuthyl phthalate adsorption - 380ml/100g, specific surface - 950 m2/g) is used as filler. Mixing was performed on cold rolls in Baltic Rubber factory. Raw material was cured in 1*15*120mm slices between two 50μm thick brass sheets in stainless steel mold, using different mold pressures from 10 to 100kg/cm2 by step of 10. Resulting product was carefully cut into 10 similar pieces by dimensions of 1*10*15mm each. Each piece represents a sample - piezo resistant sensor cell with regular brass electrodes. The specific electrical resistance of samples was measured in unstressed state (Fig.1). Finally, the piezo resistive sensitivity was determined and conclusions about influence of mold pressure on sensing properties were made

Detection of Trends of Internet Traffic Using Sequential Patterns

    No full text
We propose a new method of possible trend detection in the internet traffic by using sequential pattern analysis. The main steps of this method, such as the template pattern discovery in time-series data and pattern comparison and matching for sequential pattern analysis, are analyzed and the possible constraints and problems are pointed. Experimental data are depicted and future research subjects are described. Ill. 6, bibl.

The Main Factors of Regional Competitiveness and the Importance of International Indexes in Its Evaluation

Modelling the On-line Traffic Estimator in OPNET

    No full text
Allocation techniques are needed to provide these guarantees as efficiently as possible since resources are limited. To cope with this demand, the networks need dynamic and measurement-based resource allocation algorithms. For this task, the choice of appropriately accurate but also practically implementable algorithms is crucial. For network links shared through statistical multiplexing, adaptive bandwidth allocation algorithms based on traffic measurements can achieve important gains. In this context, it is very important to choose measurement methods that satisfy stringent constraints in terms of both accuracy and complexity. The measurement time scales have critical effect of on the performance. We proposed an approach overcoming this dependency by adjusting the measurement time scale dynamically in accordance to traffic parameter. The paper covers issue with measured traffic store model with the following parameters estimation

Offer of Safety Equipment Enhancements for Un-Regulated Crosswalks in Latvia

    No full text
Present article overviews main principles of arrangement of un-regulated crosswalks and the division of the safety equipment. Considering present situation in Latvia, where a level of un-regulated crosswalks’ equipment is minimal but the location of the crosswalks often conflicts with the basic principles of road traffic safety, several enhancements were presented, including usage of non-activated as well as individually activated systems. Systems of that kind have never been used on the roads of Latvia before, but in conformity with foreign practice, according to which some of these solutions appeared to be successful, implantation of those or similar systems in Latvia could significantly improve the safety level of pedestrians
