The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C10H14N2O3, contains two independent molecules with similar conformations. In the both molecules, the cyclohexene rings adopt the same envelope conformation with the flap C atoms lying 0.658 (3) and 0.668 (3) Å from the mean planes formed by the remaining atoms. In the crystal, adjacent molecules are connected via N-H...O hydrogen bonds and weak C-H...O interactions, forming supramolecular layers parallel to (-101)

Sensor Networking and Signal Processing Applications in City Transport Systems

    No full text
The task of application modern information and communication technologies is a challenge for existing transportation systems of all levels. Main reasons of ITS development are related with need to establish sustainable transport systems concept, as it is declared by EU guidelines as the only way for development of future transport system. Here must be understood that different aspects of transportation could be covered, at example: management of urban traffic flows; optimization of transportation process (logistics area); green technologies in vehicles, transport flow management and etc. In frame of the research the first mentioned above case will be discussed. The first case-study is based on application of sensor technologies for collecting data about traffic flows. The obtained information could be usefully integrated in existing management of traffic flows structure from single traffic control center. More over obtained data could be used as a source of data for modeling of different traffic management alternatives. In this case model will be based on the short-term forecasting tool. Here is necessary to combine four elements of the system: sensor technologies, data transferring, simulation of traffic flows and decision making. Also the integration different additional services in the single system are important for system flexibility. In frame of current research the concept of the on-line traffic management system is developed

Discovery and Structure–Activity Relationship Studies of Irreversible Benzisothiazolinone-Based Inhibitors against Staphylococcus Aureus Sortase A Transpeptidase

Gram-positive bacteria, in general, and staphylococci, in particular, are the widespread cause of nosocomial and community-acquired infections. The rapid evolvement of strains resistant to antibiotics currently in use is a serious challenge. Novel antimicrobial compounds have to be developed to fight these resistant bacteria, and sortase A, a bacterial cell wall enzyme, is a promising target for novel therapies. As a transpeptidase that covalently attaches various virulence factors to the cell surface, this enzyme plays a crucial role in the ability of bacteria to invade the host’s tissues and to escape the immune response. In this study we have screened a small molecule library against recombinant Staphylococcus aureus sortase A using an in vitro FRET-based assay. The selected hits were validated by NMR methods in order to exclude false positives and to analyze the reversibility of inhibition. Further structural and functional analysis of the best hit allowed the identification of a novel class of benzisothiazolinone-based compounds as potent and promising sortase inhibitors

Predicting the Service Life of Concrete Bridges Based on Quantitative Research

    No full text
A new method is proposed that will help predict the remaining service life of concrete bridges based on quantitative deterioration research. It is suggested that for a given degree of damage (stage) and corresponding environmental and bridge design factors, there is only one time value. In that way it is possible to calculate the deterioration rate for given environmental and bridge design factors shared by many different bridges. The method can be used to calculate the key parameters for corrosion deterioration, thereby enabling the prediction of the remaining service life of a bridge using DuraCrete deterioration models

Labour Productivity, Economic Growth and Global Competitiveness in Post-Crisis Period

    No full text
Labour productivity and economic growth are key factors to maintain and improve the competiveness of nations in the global market. The paper is devoted to the analysis of recent trends of labour productivity and economic growth in post-crisis period in comparison with the trends in pre-crisis and crisis periods. The paper analyzes the impact of changes in labour productivity and its effect on the nation’s global competitiveness. The research focuses on the European Union countries that experienced the most severe crisis and afterwards the most rapid recovery in post-crisis period (as Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia). The research findings argue that there are weak or no relations between productivity increase and economic growth in pre-crisis period and the first phase of post-crisis period; however, the increase of productivity during the crisis is a significant driver of the economy after a period of time

Quality Management and Corporate Social Responsibility for Sustainable Development of Organization: Case of NGO

    No full text
Quality management system (QMS) provides a framework for implementing corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy, strategy, activities and culture at all management levels of organization creating a basis for establishing a sustainable development policy and providing overall employee and management commitment and continuous improvement of the system. CSR appears in the process management, policy and values of the organization. Being a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), which provides social services, does not mean that the organization is socially responsible by default. Further analysis is needed to discover if the activity of organization, besides the social dimension, covers also other CSR aspects. The aim of the research is to analyse the case of NGOs providing social services and possibilities of implementing CSR strategy and principles in organizational quality management for reducing the rate of staff turnover and improving the overall excellence of organization
