Protection of user credentials in web application
Protecting user data in web applications is a challenge that developers face. Enabling secure user login and overcoming vulnerabilities without exposing sensitive data to attackers, is based on the application of modern methods and techniques for protection. This paper first reviews the current situation in this area with an emphasis on important security features. Then, the available systems are evaluated and the obtained results are quantified, from where their advantages and disadvantages can be seen. Another goal of the paper is a deeper insight into the field of user data security. Special attention is given to the importance of password protection for access in web applications
Some of the classical methods of identification, which according to the general characteristics of biometrics, acquire a completely new meaning in the digital environment. Namely, the development aimed at achieving interoperability, standardization and application of the principles of electronic business in the environment of modern technological solutions enables identification methods based on biometric data to experience their flourishing and new affirmation. The technical technological solution of the system for AFIS (Automated finger identification system) and FIIS (Facial image identification system) are systems that are being developed as one of the answers to the need for quick identification of persons. The application of the system for automatic identification of persons with the help of fingerprints and photographs modernizes and improves performance and efficiency of the police work around the world and other investigative bodies in order to combat crime
Extraction and identification of atropine from “legal high” plant species
Atropine from herbs has been used in traditional medicine over centuries, mainly because of its hallucinogenic properties. When administrated orally through abusing of Datura stramonium (DS) seeds, atropine is quickly absorbed causing dilatation of the pupil, tachycardia, hyperthermia, dizziness, nausea, extreme confusion, deliriant hallucinations and in some cases death. Knowing that Datura stramonium is one of the “legal high” plants with a high risk of toxicity for humans and animals, forensic analysis of such a material is of high importance. This work aimed at developing a fast and simple method for extraction and determination of the atropine content as the main alkaloid in DS seeds. Optimization of parameters for conventional heated solid-liquid extraction of atropine from DS seeds were obtained by varying the particle size (8.6 mm-1.7 mm), temperature (40°C-60 °C), and ethanol concentration (48.0-96.0 % v/v). The extracts were analyzed by Acquity UPLC HSS C18 1.8 μm column with mobile phase acetonitrile and formate buffer pH 3.6 (75:25) and flow rate of 0.4 mL/min. Quantitation was done in MRM mode using m/z 290→ 124 and 290→ 93 transitions
Gender differences in short sprint performancewith and without occupational load
Maximum acceleration and running speed are significant for police officers in situations where they need to apprehend a running suspect. Most frequently, they have to handle these situations wearing work equipment that weighs equally for both genders. This research aims to determine the differences in maximum acceleration and running speed with equipment of different weight. 35 male and 24 female students from the University of Criminal Investigation and Police Studies took part in the research. The test measured the time needed for a 10m and 20m sprint, as well as a 10m flying start. All tests were performed without additional load, with a duty belt that contained police equipment weighing 5 kg total, as well as a vest weighing 10 kg. The Independent Samples t test found a statistically significant difference within groups in the time of running without occupational load compared to running with the load of 5 kg and 10 kg. Furthermore, the tests with 5 kg and 10 kg loads differed in the first 10m and 20m. All observed variables contained statistically significant differences between female and male students
Suppression of narcotic drug abuse in the criminal law of Serbia : Review of the Law on Amendments to 2019 Criminal Code
Zloupotreba opojnih droga i psihotropnih supstanci predstavlja oblik
odgovarajućim delovima rada autor se osvrće i na aktuelne pravce razvoja
suprotstavljanja zloupotrebi opojnih droga u drugim zemljama.
zloupotrebe opojnih droga.Abuse of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances represents the form of crime for
suppression of which all the countries of the worlds are interested in. This is a global threat
with severe consequences which affect all citizens and society as a whole. On this occasion
we shall not deal with preventive measures but shall observe this phenomenon through the
prism of criminal law. Since the beginning of the 20
century the Serbian criminal law has
been characterized by a dynamic phase. In this dynamics which accompanies the criminal
legislation the significant place is taken by the reform of criminal offences related to narcotic
drug abuse. Chronologically observing the amendments to the criminal legislation, we can
recognize almost two decades of seeking the adequate solutions in this area. The author
analyses these amendments with special accent on the Law on Amendments to the 2019
Criminal Code and tries to find the answer to the question if the present conditions of
regulations, primarily Articles 246 and 246a, is acceptable and if the problems identified in
court practice have been overcome or at least reduced. In the corresponding parts of the
paper the author also gives a review of the current directions of development of suppression
of narcotic drug abuse in other countries. At the end of the paper, as expected, there are
suggestions de lege ferenda, as well as the observations of the author related to the
difficulties and obstacles which stand in the way of narcotic drug abuse suppression
Identification of failure scenario and the conception of mathematical tools in numeric risk assessment
smanjenju rizika. Metodološki tok procedure procene rizika predstavlja osnovu za pravilno procenjivanje
odnosno snimanje situacije poslovnog sistema.
i rangiranje rizika.
In the process industry, risk management is traditionally focused on considering the probability of
specific events or accidents. In energy plants which represent the most important field of application, in
1970’s of tha last century, in the USA the structural approach for identification of failure scenario was
introduced. Risk assesment represent the decision process related to whether the existing risks are
within the range of accepatble risk and whether the exisiting procedures for risk control are adequate.
The main reason why it is necessary to make risk assesment is the possibility for risk management, its
decrease or elimination.Risk assesment should be as objective as possible, and to depend on scientific
criteria. After having received the information on risk, it can be started with the application of effective
methods for its decrease, by which the increased efficiency in risk assesment will be accomplished.
Methodological course of risk assesment procedure represents the ground for proper estimation, i.e. for
monitoring the situation of business system. The result of system’s condition at the application of certain
models for risk assesment, depends exclusively on properly made results within the methodological
course of risk assesment. Based on further results, the ranking of numerical risk assesment is made,
i.e. the risk (R) is ranked from acceptable (insignificantly low risk) of the rank R1 through extremely high
risk of the rank R5, which does not allow for activity to either to start or to continue until the risk level is
reduced. Also, the table containing the description of criteria for probability estimate is provided, as well
as of criteria for the frequency of failure and risk ranking. The evaluation of risk assesment is
accomplished by showing the matrix model. There are matrices with different number of levels, but the
simplest model of risk matrix is 3x3 with 3 risk levels. Based on the matrix of risk estimate the range of
risks for calsification and characterization of risk estimate is defined
Perceptions of private security : a case study of students from Serbia and North Macedonia
In the last two decades of the 21st century, the significant development of the private security industry has taken place in Serbia and North Macedonia. However, the private security industry in these two countries did not
reach professional standards as in other states of the former Yugoslavia. The aim
of this paper was to determine students’ perception of private security and its
employees. The survey data were collected using an anonymous survey of 354
students (296 from Serbia and 58 from North Macedonia). In both countries
the attitudes are heterogeneous, but a relatively small number of respondents
have expressed a high level of perception of private security. The research has
shown that gender, as one of demographic characteristics, has its role in shaping young pexople’s views on the private security, that is, the female population
has more positive views about private security officers, their integrity, and the
nature of the private security job. The findings offer policy-makers and private
security companies the opportunity to deploy new strategies to upgrade public
attitudes towards private security, especially aimed at the male population

The application of thermal imaging cameras in crime detection has raised the
question of the legality of their use, as well as the procedural value of thus obtained
information. With regard to these questions, the standpoint of the U.S. court practice has
shown diametrically opposite views. The earliar U.S. courts rulings took the position that
the application of thermal imaging cameras was not subject to the fulfillment of any
particular conditions and that it was encompassed by police discretionary decisions. The
position of later rulings was that the application of new technologies, including thermal
imaging cameras, was subject to basic conditions required for searching, i.e. mandatory
obtaining of the court order with the purpose of protecting the right to privacy. As the
application of thermal imaging cameras in the Republic of Serbia is prescribed neither by
laws nor by by-laws, it could be governed by general regulations on the use of technical
means in implementing operational tactical measures and actions, as well as gathering of
evidence. Therefore, thermal imaging cameras might be used in police actions, such as
police observation, covert surveillance and recording. In the course of covert surveillance
and recording, as part of theevidence gathering process, the use of thermal imaging
cameras would be regulated by the same conditions by which the undertaken actions are
regulated. Since the possibility of the application of thermal imaging cameras while
performing police observation is not explicitly provided for, dilemmas with regard to their
use still remain, as well as the issues concerning their procedural value.
