Role of the teacher in shaping the student’s writing skill
The purpose of this study is to show how “creative work” or teachers’ “products” directly affect student’s performance, in their written work. Through this study, it is aimed to draw the attention of all Albanian language and literature teachers to overlook important requirements and forms of teaching, which affect student’s linguistic training. Aspects of the present research are related to the topic of written essays, their structure, the level of clarity and understanding ability, and the consistency of writing styles that students do, as compared to those required by the program. Other aspects of the study, closely related to the first one, are the evaluative comments and notes that the teacher makes on the students’ written essays, as well as their suitability for each student. The general approach is to demonstrate through real examples, and convince teachers through analysis and comments, that various problems in the design (structure) of topic / essay avoid the syllabus/program requirements, produce different types of essays, and bring misunderstanding among students. On the other hand, general notes and comments do not help students improve. We believe that thoughts and the conclusions of the study will be helpful for teachers of Albanian language and literature in the development of their teaching process
The audience measurement in Albania – Efforts to institutionalize the process
The media market is overloaded; the new operators sign their name as competitors for advertising space, and the need to improve the quality for the media communication campaign is growing; but, paradoxically the media operators have left the audience measurement – the only criteria who can regulate this market – out of attention. Only well- educated persons, with an affinity for technology, which are very keen to the development of this specific market, are trying to make sense and just not to leave it as a niche reality. In this article we will try to explain why the media operators are not embracing this new reality, boosting informality in the sector, with bad consequences for the quality of the media programming schedule offer. What are the real reasons, and the balances broken out from the implementing of the new rules in the market? The problems seem to be systemic, and in this way they should be sorted out
Terminology and generative concepts of the phrase
The aim of this research is the reflection of the semantic values of the generative terms and concepts in the Albanian language syntax. With the introduction of descriptive, comparative, and explanatory methods, and with the use of a rich literature in Albanian and foreign
languages, I have achieved the following results: a) The classification of the sentences, based on the relation between main and
subordinate clauses is made under these viewpoints: I) The type of the relation that links the subordinate clause with the
main one; II) The form of the subordinate clause, which might be identical or different from the main clause; III) The mood of the verb of the subordinate clause. b) Predicative units with functional terms accomplish parallel functions. 1) In the known European languages the theme is usually the subject, whereas the rema is the predicate. From the traditional point of view the subject of an active transitive sentence is the doer of the action, whereas the object is the aim. In the ergative construction languages, the syntactic characteristic of the case would determine both subject the noun and the “aim” of the intransitive sentence. 2) The predicate complement is syntactically necessary for the accomplishment of the predicate structure (for this reason it is called
“complement”).3) Based on the number of nominative units by which verbs are linked to form the core sentences we make a classification of verbs. It is
through this classification that the distinction between the subject and the object is made possible. The actual models distinguish the different
verb classes presuming the existence of a special functional category, SV of which is its complement. This category is marked as v. The thematic net of a particular lexical voice is a structure with predicates and arguments that are typical of the language analysis, which have been formulated based on contemporary approaches
Analysis Paper on Treatment of Trade in Services under the Kosovo-Turkey Free Trade Agreement of Services
The Government of Kosovo has recently signed an agreement with Turkey on a bilateral Free Trade Agreement in Goods. However, the negotiations in signing a free trade agreement in services are still on- going. This is the first time since Kosovo became independent in 2008 that the Government of Kosovo has been engaged in trade negotiations, as its so-far single trade agreement, the CEFTA 2006, was negotiated by UNMIK. The absence of experience in trade negotiations in itself creates challenges for the government when negotiating with Turkey on such a complex issue, as service trade liberalization. An additional challenge is created by parallel negotiations with CEFTA partners and the European Union. The purpose of this paper is to provide background information on services trade negotiators with Turkey, in order to formulate an appropriate position for the proposed negotiations. The paper focuses on the regulatory (legal) aspects of possible liberalization measures/commitments by Kosovo and Turkey
Ethical issues in photojournalism
Photographic cameras are based on the fidelity of the eyes.Consequently, the camera never lies. For many years, media photographers have used this reasoning typology as a shield and justification during early debates regarding the relationship between this visual medium and the objective truth. Simplifying the theoretical and philosophical analysis, the questions which arise here are: Is photography a mirroring of reality or a kind of visual information which is affected by the subjectivity of its author? What role do beliefs, stereotypes, prejudices, interests, personal standpoints, individual affiliation or tastes of the author of a photograph play in creating the final product? The following article intends to shed light on the relationship between media photography and the objective truth, focusing on the theoretical debate in this field. The analysis of ethical problems in Albanian photojournalism and the role of media digitalization and Internet in amplifying these problems, occupy a considerable place in the article. After a detailed panoramic view, the conclusions and
recommendations that follow will serve for the practice of photojournalism in minimizing ethical violations by building a self-regulatory framework and an effective and transparent editorial policy
A brief overview of locative prepositions and their role of marker
Prepositions are typically polysemious items: they have different, but related senses. According to cognitive semantics, the figurative senses of a preposition are extended from its spatial senses through conceptual metaphors. In a pedagogical context, it may be useful to draw learners’ attention to those aspects of a preposition’s spatial sense that are especially relevant for its metaphorization processes. This article examines possible ways in which cognitive semantic analyses of prepositions could be used to anticipate comprehension problems, and facilitate comprehension of the unfamiliar figurative senses
Television and Screening of Literary Work for the Television
The television today has become one of the most powerful means of mass communication, it has become an everyday man’s need of our century. It directly affects human’s education, ethical and aesthetic formation. As a technical invention of the past century, television can be ranked among the most important communication means. Advantages of the television compared to the radio and newspaper are that it affects the audience more strongly due to the fact that it is a visual-auditory communication mean. Its advantages compared to film and theater are that, unlike those two, the television goes to the audience’s homes, and as such, in today’s terms and furthermore in perspective it has a larger audience than the cinema and theater considered together. Not everything broadcasted on the television is related to the artistic work. News, scientific and political conversations, information, have nothing in common with television arts
Effects of Nationalism in Countries in Transition: Attitudes toward Nationalism in Political Culture
Nationalism represents a serious challenge for the countries in transition. It is a factor which immensely influences and shapes the transitional process in politics in all South-Eastern European countries. It represents a challenge for the post-communist countries especially for countries like the former republics of ex-Yugoslavia, since, as Robert Kaplan points out in his foreword chapter to the book Balkan Ghosts: A Journey Through History, “ in the Balkans, no wars are ‘local’ ”. [1]Societies in Europe are experiencing remarkable changes especially in politics and economy through empowerment of their democratic political and economic systems. Nationalism and nationalist attitudes are present in political cultures in countries of transition despite efforts for implementing democracy, rapid changes and modernization of societies at institutional level and social structure and despite the newly established environment of these societies.
Countries in transition borrowed the so-called ‘copy-paste’ action, and tried the implementation of such systems without considering the specifics of countries in transition which subsequently faced the variances, inadequacy and quite often the inability for the implementation of the latter.
Therefore, this paper aims to focus on political culture of transitional countries, with a specific emphasis on Kosovo, covering nationalism and the process of democratization as a very important part of its political system and its political culture
Has science got a basic principle?
The subject of this paper will be the attempts to find a basic principle of science from different philosophers of science. These resulted into
novelties as well as new problems of perception, interpretation and approach to science, and its development.
Although the science which constitutes the most obvious evidence of increased human knowledge, turned out to be a very complex
phenomenon with many different challenges to be understood and explained, which is expressed through different theories of philosophy
of science, which also express different approaches, but at the same time reflect its evolution. The novelties as well as epistemological problems, roughly speaking, can be summarized as follows: (i) the formulation of the basic principle of science – the principle of verifiability, (ii) the falsification as a guiding principle of science, (iii) the paradigms and their shift as main principle of development of science; and (iv) the controversial developments after Kuhn Yet, despite the success, there is still no epistemological theory, which would give answers to questions: whether there is any rational
explanation of how the community of scientists sets, culminating in moments of scientific development, to change the paradigms
Personal Identity and Mass Culture
Personal identities in Kosova, too, are created through the influence of the mass media contents. Ample and assorted technology- communications systems have facilitated the convergence of personal and collective relations in the social and cultural aspects. In addition, the personal identity has been tempted by the factors leading to the virtual shape. Fixed, retouched, and artificial identities created in a virtual environment through the mass media enhance the game of the cultural roles that are incompatible with the real life roles. The roles do not give but rather get from the public the un-systemized cultural energies and then pass on that power mainly to corporative representatives, which manage it by acquiring the public
